Very sorry to hear that Jax. I certainly dread the day when I have to give up driving. I have always said that if God intended me to walk then he would have given me wheels rather than feet.

jax Report 13 Mar 2012 18:07

I really gave up proper driving three years ago, meaning driving more than a mile or two.
I had thought about adaptions...left foot accelerator or hand controls, but as I cannot get to and from the car by myself it seemed pointless.

Oh well at least I have my scooter :-D

Found out yesterday that my sister who is nearly 43 has decided to take up riding a motorbike again :-( not something that has ever appealed to me...it is either a 500 or 750cc she has bought, at least this time she is not going to use it to travel to work in London

Jax -- yes your 40 year old Kenwood is very well sought after ---- have you all the attachments ?

Sorry about the car insurance --- must be horrible for you -- it is bad enough not being able to do things - without other things being taken away ---

Shame we dont live closer --- I am here car less ( mine still in Spain) I could have treated your car to little trips to the Supermarkets --- or even the seaside :-D

Gee Report 13 Mar 2012 18:17

Driving is something we all take for granted, soz you cant manage it anymore Ja..x

You'll have to get your scooter, turbo charged :-)

As for bikes, I used to love em, pillion rider of course, with my fella(s) These days they would scare the pants orf me

........I also used to like skidding in the snow and ice :-(

I have a huge Morris@ns over the road that has just been built to replace the old smaller one. As it was so small I found it difficult getting round on my scooter and hate being pushed in a chair. As the weather is getting better maybe I will get out more often and be able to choose what I want to eat for a change.

When I lived with my sister 10 years ago she offered to take me out on her bike....but Nooooo it would have frightened the life out of me, as I know she would have gone fast on purpose. Pillion on a Honda 50 was bad enough :-D

I am sure this Kenwood was my mums 1st one which I remember her having it in the early 70s yes it has all the attachments that I know of not looked at it for years or ever used it myself...but did'nt like to say no when she offered it...will have to go and have a look one day. That was the only household item I took when I left the ex....well it was the only thing that was offered to be honest.

Me and son arrived very early for the course tour around Leeds Uni....so we had breakfast at Morrisons first

.....it cost about £5 for both of us and he had the biggest breakfast on the menu.....bargain

We dont have a Morrisons near us, only Sainsburys and Waitrose...Tesco is the next nearest, but then again, who is not near a Tesco

I'm properly back! :-D

I have gorn 'live'! :-D

I don't have to watch my limit! :-D

Really sorry about your driving licence ja...x. It must be an odd feeling - even though you can no longer manage the controls etc. Hopefully your scooter will really come into its own and you will get out a bit more. <3

I'm like Jonesey and dread the day I won't be allowed (or capable) to drive. I love driving and it's pretty necessary to us especially with OH's probs.

Glad you are pleased with your covers Renes and yes, we had fitted covers too. You could make a suite last for ever........ :-D

Rob.......no more committee work thank you. Been there, done that and got the T-shirt..........let someone else have the pleasure!

Our local library has turned into one of those which is run by volunteers. I am thinking about that because I love libraries. However, much depends on how OH is as he has some bad spells these days.

Off for a browse at my leisure.... :-D

The old Morrisons did not have a cafe, this one has so I hope they do breakfast at 3 pm. Only been over there once a month ago but it was a bit busy as everyone from all around were trying the new store out...and using our road as a carpark aghhh.

Maybe a trip tomorrow is an idea if I feel up to it...what an exiting life I lead :-D

SO sorry that you have had to finally 'officially' give up your driving Ja...x - I will be lost if I ever have to do that.

Hopefully you will be able to get out a bit more on your scooter soon as the weather is starting to improve. <3

You have made me quite jealous now with all this talk of Morrison's wonderful breakfasts - I do aprox. 95% of my shopping at Morrisons - I even have shares in the Company !!! and my Morrisons does not have a cafe !!! :-( :-(

I think I will have to demand that they build an extension and include one :-D I feel quite 'left out' now :-(

apparently fresh cooked double eggs on toast is 1.95

Son ate with children when they stayed at hotel local to Africa Alive in

Kessinland Suffolk -- on Norfolk border -- said that the park only offered

"ping" food for the kids --- so came and went to Morrison
