Trace.....

Here's some band aids, for your poor little fingers

GREAT to have you back :-D

Dea will be pleased to see you

Dea

Dea Report 25 Feb 2014 17:42

Glad to see you have managed to escape Tracey !

My, you are somewhat thinner than when I last saw you! - Still, you needed to lose a stone or two and you have ! - You look so much better for it ! ;-) :-D :-D

You should have realised that we wouldn't hear you banging though - what with pots and pans clanging, all the chattering and then Cynthia hoovering away all the mess, it is almost impossible to hear anything :-D

I thought I saw you on here a week or so ago and got all excited and told everyone else - some of the others were here too who hadn't visited for a while but when I looked further I realised that I had somehow got myself 'stuck' on a VERY old page and the 'old crowd' were not here at all :-(

Hope things are well with you - SO nice to see you,

Dea Xxx

P.S. - If you are still starving, I have some home made cottage pie in the oven and if you like, I could make a stack of pancakes for later (any filling you like!)
'My' favourite is just lemon juice and sugar but I could do syrup, cream and fresh fruits, chocolate..... or anything else you fancy.

Gin,

What is going on just over the Pennines? Six wins on the trot and in the 6th round of the FA Cup. Just a shame that the Owls lost last night as if they had won then Sheffield would have been guaranteed a team in the semi final.

it was a lovely sunny day today :-)

it was physio day today ............. that's why I am so late reporting in :-)

Dea ..............

........... my knee has been very sore for the last 3 or 4 weeks, especially the last few days.

I know what it is, and what to do about it ..................... the thinner of the 2 bones in the lower part of the leg sort of slips out of position under the kneecap, and one can push it back into place, if you apply pressure in the right place.

That pressure didn't work when I tried to do it, however.

So I told the physio ........... he then makes me lie on the couch, and starts applying pressure around the area ................. after the 4th squeal from me as he found successively more painful areas, he then started to really press it into place

I'm sure that physiotherapists enjoy inflicting pain!!

My knee does feel a bit better ................... now I have to try to do it myself, before going for my next visit in 3 weeks time.

"no marking, just pottering around, doing nits and pieces, "

OOOOhhh Ginns - I always had 'a thing' about nits !!!

My son never got them, thankfully, but I don't know how I would have coped if he had !!!

Horrible crawly things !!! :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-0 :-(

Tony Attwood is world famous in the field of autism Gins..... :-)

Had a lovely walk this morning....spring is definitely on it's way....it was so peaceful - not too cold and the birds were singing away.

Talking of birds....when I went outside this morning I could hear a flapping of wings. Looking round, I spotted a starling up in the gutter at the corner of the house. On the odd occasion, we have had them build a nest there but this bird was looking distinctly peculiar. Then I realised, it was stuck!! The poor thing had it's feet caught I presume. There was absolutely nothing we could do :-(

I think it's died now 'cos it's just hanging there..... :-( :-(

I'm not keen on having birds near me but I felt really sorry for that poor thing.

Ah well.....gotta go out now. ~~~

Gee

Gee Report 26 Feb 2014 17:35

Dea.............nits nits nits.......and all their bits!

Dea

Dea Report 26 Feb 2014 18:11

OOhhh Cynthia - I know how you feel!

Going back many years we went to a friends house and there was a budgie which he insisted in letting out of the cage to fly around the room.

WELL, - I was crouching behind the sofa in tears until he put it back into the cage.

He was VERY apologetic as he didn't realise that I was so frightened of them but I can't stand them flying around me :-( :-( :-(

We have a problem here as on many occasions we have had 'kamakazi' pidgeons flying into out windows for years now.

I don't know why they do it - I suppose we must be on one of their 'flight paths'!

The first time, this one had been eating all the cherries off a nearby tree and so when it hit the window literally hundreds of cherries spewed out all over the patio and the poor thing was dead. - I suppose it must have been heavier than it thought and couldn't lift itself up over the roof ??

On another occasion, the poor thing knocked itself unconscious and had injured it's wing so we put a basked over it and gave it some water as it was defenceless and we didn't want a predator to kill it in the night. Then we called the RSPCA who came (eventually) and took it away. :-(

On the last occasion the poor thing smashed into the window and decapitated itself - we never did find it's head :-( :-( :-(

They seem to keep repeating this but I don't know why we have been singled out. They leave a heck of a mess on the windows and make a heck of a frightening bang when they hit !

I don't like them to be near me but I don't like them to suffer either but it seems there is nothing to be done.

Nature is SO cruel isn't it??

Hi everyone
xxx

I don't seem to be getting on here until late

well, we had about 12 cm of snow by Monday evening :-(

Then yesterday and today (ie, Tuesday and Wednesday) have been gorgeous .............. foggy in the early mornings, but sunny during the day. The temperature is still only about 4C though, so there are patches of snow still lying around.

The sale of the cabin fell through ......................... our realtor called both the potential buyers AND their realtor "naive" ..........

they had planned on putting down a 10% deposit, and then getting the rest from a government programme called CHMC

Unfortunately, for them, that programme is only for buying a principal residence, nor recreational property!

Their realtor should have checked that with them before putting in the offer ........ it's known as "pre-qualifying" to avoid wasting everyone's time %3A-D

Never mind, it was a good exercise for us to go through, as we have never actually sold any property before :-D

Dea

Dea Report 27 Feb 2014 08:26

Good morning all :-)

What a wonderful 'spread' Sylvs - thank you <3 <3 <3

I would love to have some Pink grapefruit and brown sugar because I just LOVE grapefruit but I am not allowed it because of some of the medications I am on :-( :-( :-(

I will happily settle though for a Maille Croque Monsieur, Portobello Mushroom Caps with eggs, cheese and spinach, topped with lots of lovely bacon, then if I have room I will have a couple of those Caribbean Banana Fritters drizzled with syrup. (If I don't have room for these I will pop back later for them ) ;-) :-D :-D

What a fantastic start to the day :-D

See you all later,

Dea Xxx
