Well the night shift had an interesting time last night!

Managed a late breakfast Sylvs.....after some excitement......

Saga....

Up at 6.45am because the washing machine is due to be delivered between 7am and 11am.

Fair enough, they arrive at around 8.30am.

MEN: Ahhhh sorry Missus, we haven't got the tools to undo the supports at the back of your new machine. We can deliver it and get someone to install it another time.

MOI: %&*#&%*#%&*#%&*'#%&*#$%*#%&*#
(roughly interpreted as "indeed I am not waiting for it to be installed at another time. I wish it to be installed pronto. Your problem. Thankyou")

MEN: Ahhhh right, see what we can do.

MOI: Good.

MEN: We'll take the old one out. Oh dear, we can't reach the plug. We'll have to leave it.

MOI: &%*#%&*#%&*#
(Indeed, you will NOT leave it, I suggest you go about it this way)

MEN: Ahhhh see what you mean.

Plug is due removed. Old machine taken out. New one brought in.

MEN: Ahhh we can't reach to plug it in.

MOI: %&*#%&*#%&*#%&*#
(Another suggestion, try this..........)

MEN: Ahhhh oooerrr .... your idea worked!

MOI: Thank you SO much for your trouble.

GOODBYE.

Having a lie down.

Sounds like you ned that lie down Cynthia - not for too long though - there is washing to do !!!!!!!!!!

I have an intresting time recently when my dishwasher was delivered - A strong young man (who was pleasant but not very 'bright'), brought it in, followed by the fairly small 'lady' fitter who was about to install it !

She had no problem getting the hose out through the small hole in the cupboard - she lay on the floor - put her feet against the bottom of the unit, took hold of the hose and 'yanked it' with all her might!! - It came through, but I am surprised it didn't bring half the unit with it !! - Anyway, so much for initiative !!

I hope they didn't cut off the plug and refit it to get your new machine in Cynthia as that would have invalidated the Guarantee. Most appliances now come with a little plug-in thing to the back of the machine, at the other end to the plug which goes into the wall-socket, so the problem is got rid of.

These men - haven't got a clue have they Cynths ???

Happy 'washing-day' !

Last time someone who was not my partner reinstalled my machine because they had badly fitted a new kitchen, they contected the hoses wrong and my washing came out hot.
Ordered a new fridge freezer a couple of years ago from cu&&rys and they were going to take old one away. They did'nt mentioned it had to be left turned off, so when they arrived said they couldnt take it because of the CFC's or something.
I was'nt very happy but said ok just leave it outside the door then, to which the dumb men said "Ok bye"
No, no, no the old one not the new one......men

I think it's a case of some are employed for their brawn rather than their brain!!

Anyway, it is whizzing around now and the sun is still shining.......washing line here I come...:)

The car has been MOT'd and serviced.....not a bad price at all. Thank heaven's for that!!

BS had a note on the fb page that I hadn't seen before, about wishing one could have multiple accounts for multiple trees. I've just posted this there, but in case it's too old and doesn't get seen:

You can have multiple accounts for multiple trees! You can have any number of free accounts and a tree with each one. If anyone contacts you about a match on one of those trees, a free account allows you to reply. You just can't initiate contact -- but if you want to do that, you can do it via your paid account.

OOOhh Fans - It is at least good to know what your problem actually is, at last !!!

Yes - Hopefully they can now give you some treatment to get rid of it!

Thankfully it is something that they can fairly easily fix nowadays, not like 'in the olden' days !!

Hope you start to feel better soon.

JC . they've found her stomach problems are caused by that bacterium .... so a couple of courses of antibiotics should cure her

woke up this morning to loud noises outside, on the street.

Company was trimming the street trees ......... the lovely cherry trees.

Fortunately, it was a tree trimming company with a name we recognised doing it on contract to the city, and they really seemed to be looking at what they were trimming rather than just hacking.

OH went out to tell them that one of the trees was about 75% dead ..... he's been meaning to phone the city about it for the last couple of years.

The young lady in charge of the crew wnt and looked at it with him, said they didn't usually remove street trees until they were about 80% dead.

About 90 minutes later, I hear slightly different, chainsaw-type noises.

They've cut the tree down!

Hopefully, it won't take too long for the city to replant a young tree there.

JC

I think that posting re multiple accounts was because there had been some pressure not to allow multiple accounts under different names ....... because of the people who do it, using the extra accounts and names to attack people

then Yay for FBG's gut. ;)

Do they do the street-tree trimming before 7 a.m. there, Sylvia? They do here. You wonder what they do the rest of the day, since it's always 7 a.m. where you live.

Last year was the first year they went at my catalpas. They grow in the 3 feet between the porch and the sidewalk, and the hydro poles are inside the sidewalk now, so it's about 7 feet from base of tree to where the wires are directly overhead. Catalpas are weeds, and these grow in that direction, east, since morning sun is all they get. The chainsawing started one fine morning last summer so I dashed out, and suggested they might have given me notice. (They're my trees, not street trees.) They did. No, they didn't.

At least they waited until after they had flowered, anyhow. No, that's right, the front three didn't flower at all last year! They'd had some sort of leaf blight the year before so we figured they were resting. Should be okay this year. Just have to hope the chainsawing comes later ...

I could send you a catalpa sprout for the vacant spot! In five years you'd have a 15-foot flowering tree.

Sylvia ... you can't post with a free account. ;)

All kinds of people have multiple accounts/trees -- you can see them when you do tree searches re TTF threads -- the same name three times with the same tree owner's name, different account numbers.

I think people just open free accounts, forget how to use them, open another one and start a new tree ...

I can't see a problem with using a separate free acount for a separate tree, e.g. one's spouse's tree, or one's birth family tree.

Trimming trees just as they are starting to 'sprout' buds?

Fannys belly is on the way to be mended.....yay, she can stop b#oody moaning about it now ;)

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 3 Mar 2011 19:48

I have NOT been moaning about it..!!!

But I will be very pleased when I am able to eat without feeling sickie and windy afterwards.
And when I can bend over without any pain.
And not feel bloated all the time.
And not have the feeling of bad indigestion pain.

This had better be the end of it after the Biotics..Or I shall be even grumpier ..

TootyFruity

TootyFruity Report 3 Mar 2011 19:48

JC I have four accounts at present 1 standard and three free. I find it such a bind having to keep logging in and out to access each tree. I would like a multi tree function where I can view my trees under one log in.

Also when you reply to a contact on the free membership you can give them access to your tree but you cannot view theirs unless like me you direct them to your standard account. which again is a bit of a pain.

Dea on Mundia your private tree is private and like on ancestry you can make it unsearchable.

Edit: Yay Fans comfort is just around the corner

TF -- your solution. ;)

Stay logged in to .za under the account for one name.
.com.au for another
.nz (or whatever it is) for the third.

Then you just have to open a window/tab for the portal you want and you can be logged in there at the same time as messing around here!
