Wooowwwwwwww !!

The central heating is orf, I have windows open and I am not shiverin !!!!!

Must be spring eh??

Mind you, I still have my woolly jumper on - let's take no chances!

Grandson came over yesterday, full of a cold and went into the shed with grandad. He spied the 'paddling pool' and said - cane we get it out? Can we put water in it? Just a little bit pleeeeeeeeeeeeease???

We had to explain that he could do it very soon but just not quite yet !!

Hey ho - All is well with the world !!!!!!!

Renes - Do you know what to do with and how to 'nurture' a lemon tree please???

My grand-daughter planted some lemon seeds last year and they have withstood our minus 16 degree winter and the plant has grown beautifully.

It now has several really strong branches and is almost 2 ft high - full of lovely furry buds which have now opened into acorn shaped green 'bobbly' things - REALLY strong and pretty looking.

I didn't expect it to survive and don't know what to do with it!!

Can you help ??

Jax

I have my pension paid in Euros directly in to my Spanish bank account --- in that way I get the "spot rate" of exchange

Dea

Whilst in bud -- protect from the frost --- wrap the sapling loosly in a plant fleece --- it also protects from high winds

She has done well ---- tree may be infertile though ---- if it is a lunar lemon tree it will have lemons every full moon --- so it will flower and have lemons all year long

Be very very careful ---some lemon trees have vicious spikes along the branches

I have 2 apricots trees grown naturally from nut --- and they both had fruit last year -----one 2 years old the three years old

Renes - It has resisted minus 16 or more without protection and ferociously high winds !! - Goodness knows how ???

There are no spikes.

I have warned her that I don't think she will actually get any lemons but that she might well get some lovely flowers??

I must take some photo's for you to look at it !!

I just had a strange missed call to my mobile every number was the same as mine except mine starts 459 and this was 549...wonder if it was someone messing around although I have had this number for 11 years so I would imagine this number was that old too

Dea you are way too young to remember

When I was just a lad of ten, my father said to me,
"Come here and take a lesson from the lovely lemon tree."
"Don't put your faith in love, my boy", my father said to me,
"I fear you'll find that love is like the lovely lemon tree."

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

My grand-daughter (and indeed, myself), like to eat lemons Robert!!

I am just SO impatient to see what the flowers look like !

It is just so big and strong after the severe weather we have had - I can't believe it has survived !!

Dea Xxx

Actually Robert, I have just re-read and have to thank you for the compliment BUT, I am not too young to remember that song, unfortunately!!
