Shelly I will whisper this to you so Marilyn dont get to hear. but that Women is always going out walking along the beach off to some part of Devon or Cornwall of off on holiday . shall we remove her tyres off her car ? or take the starter out of the car. we end her galivating about. she is a cheeky monkey not the going about but letting us no so we envy her.
well I hope you wont get too many of those spiders I was told they stay during september I dont know how they know when September starts and when if finishes.then we get the Dragon flies ot daddy longlegs. Lol.
I keep a plastic see through glass near me now so can throw it over the spider till I work out the best way to get it up and out of my flat. it is a bit nerve racking. like Churchill I have to plan my next action.

I haven't seen any spiders in the house yet. But now that I've said that........ I'll probably start getting them.
Rita, I'm sure if you ask nicely, Marilyn will take you with her when she goes out for the day. It'll do you good to get away from the spiders.
Come on Marilyn, take our Rita out for the day.
Hope Jean's coping with her treatment, not long now Jean, hang on in there.
Mo, are you still in a lot of pain? Let us know when you find out if it's a DVT or not.
It was gloomy here as well Shelly but it looks like the sun's trying to break through now. Hope it manages to get through those clouds because I'm going out soon.
Shelly, sea trout is a big fish with pink flesh like salmon, we buy it from the quayside. It's different to the farmed trout that you can buy at the supermarkets. We bought a salmon as well but I've put it in the freezer, it's massive.
Where's Linda today?

Hi Pauline My Husband use to sea fish when we lived in Caister Norfolk as it was on the coast 3 minutes to get to the sea if that. ? and he caught Sea Trout and I use to cook it we didnt even know that it was sea trout we were told by one of the old fishermen who had been born there and fished all his life what it was. I use to cook it the same way as Salmon. This John caught when we were at his mothers in Scotland you had to have permit on Bervie beach to catch these as they would check to seewhat size it was. there was a little inlet when the sea came it filled up and then the sea went out and it left sea water and baby salmon in there was a name for these little ones cannot recall what that was now. but I use to take them back to M I L bungalow and she would clean them and grill them for our tea.they were lovely. He caught Sea Bream as well
I have been busy this morning did Sausages and onions in the oven for dinner as I had the oven on I made a little" toad in the hole" and a large "Apple Sponge"as well. save money on the gas.
so I have been very busy and still not done my typing. I wonder where Elizabeth and Yvonne and Lady are we have not heard from them for sometime. I know Jean is not that well I do hope she is soon feeling much better.and Sue seem to have left us.

Hi all. Good news, it's not a DVT. Apparantly, I have got what is called a bakers cyst, behind my knee. But not happy with having one, I had to be greedy and get two that are rubbing against each other, causing the pains. I have now got to wait and make an appointment with my doctor, for pain killers and physio. I have googled the type of cyst, and they can be drained, but it depends on what my doctor recommends. When they told me what it was, Roly was very sarcastic and said it cant be a bakers cyst, she don't do that much baking anymore. Cheeky so and so.
Has Jean been in to speak to us today or yesterday. I hope she is o.k.
It's absolutely chucking it down with rain at the moment. Some of our area got flooded this morning, but we did not get that downpour, thank god.
I hope you are all o.k.

I have heard from my daughter alittle while ago she is off her crutches but has to be careful for a month they have discharged her from hospital.
My young Granddaughter Megan who had the bowel Operation is home but not too good they are keeping an eye on her as they think she might have to go back into hospital.
My Son Law Steve is having a bad time he is tired all the time and unable to eat he is gradually wasting away.he has one my Chemo. I am hoping after that he will start feeling better and beable to eat
It is such a worry I am not able to help that is the worst part of it. I will have to hope someone above shows some love for them and gives them a chance,

Morning all.
What............no Linda again? Hope you aren't giving yourself too much work Linda.
No Jean again either...............try to stay strong Jean, only another week of treatment after this week.
Mo, I'm really pleased you don't have a DVT, they're so dangerous. I've never heard of the thing you've got but it sounds painful. Mind you, my hubby would have said the same thing as yours did, sarcastic so and sos aren't they.
I wonder if Shelly went off to practice making Toad in the Hole. Let us know if you managed it Shelly.
Yvonne is still working hard, Liz is on the missing list and Stephen still has no Internet, he's probably saving up to take us all out.
What's Goosey Fair Marilyn? Sounds like loads of stalls where people are selling geese. I know it won't be, but can't figure out why it would be called that.
Rita, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL, it must be so hard to watch him and not be able to help. I really hope that when the chemo is finished he'll be able to eat again and built his strength up.
And poor Megan, she's gone through such a lot, she deserves a bit of good luck. In fact your whole family need to have a change in luck, I hope things start to improve soon.

I did not get up till 7 this morning and I have walked about like a zombi I have no engery at all. I was thinking to myself this morning when making myself a cuppa before I had a shower. all the things I have to do today. and there was so many little things I made a list. so I wont forget now unless I lose the list.?
I hope to go out and be back before the rain comes. I need a couple of bits from the supermarket and must pick up my books from the Newsagents.
It seems strange on here with all these people missing. do you think we have put them off ?
Marilyn that Goose Fair is that the one when they have things like climbing up the grease pole and pony racing along with the farmers market and stalls? we use to go to some of those but not sure if it is the same as you are speaking about.?
Pauline , Shelly and Linda morning to you.

TAVISTOCK GOOSEY FAIR>
'Tis just a month come Friday next, Bill Champerdown and me Us traipsed across old Darty Moor, the Goosey Fair to see Us made ourselves quite fitty, us greased and oiled our hair Then off us goes in our Sunday clothes behind old Bill's grey mare
Us smelled the sage and onion 'alf a mile from Whitchurch Down And didn't us 'ave a blow out when us come into the town And there us met Ned Hannoford, Jan Steer and Nicky Square And it seemed to we, all Devon must be to Tavistock Goosey Fair
And its oh, and where be a-going And what be a-doing of there Heave down your prong and stamp along To Tavistock Goosey Fair
Us went to see the 'orses and the 'effers and the yews Us went on all them roundabouts and into all the shows And then it started raining and blowing in our face So off us goes down to the Rose to 'ave a dish of tay
And then us had a sing song and the folks kept dropping in And what with one an' t'other, well, us had a drop of gin And what with one an' t'other, us didn't seem to care Whether us was to Bellever Tor or Tavistock Goosey Fair
And its oh, and where be a-going And what be a-doing of there Heave down your prong and stamp along To Tavistock Goosey Fair
'Twere raining streams and dark as pitch when us trotted 'ome that night An' when us got past Merrivale Bridge, our mare, 'er took a fright Says I to Bill, "Be careful, you'll 'ave us in them drains" Says 'e to me, "Cor bugger, why 'aven't you got the reins?"
Just then the mare ran slap against a whacking gert big stone 'Er kicked the trap to flibbits and 'er trotted off alone And when it come to reckoning, 'tweren't no use standing there Us 'ad to traipse 'ome thirteen mile from Tavistock Goosey Fair
And its oh, and where be a-going And what be a-doing of there Heave down your prong and stamp along To Tavistock Goosey Fair
Awwhhh did you like that ?????

Morning,
Did that wake you up ....LOL
Its a 12th century Goosey fair. and all the farmers used to trade in their geese and walked through the village of Tavistock,
Its now a big fair whereupon Farmers show their cattle & machinery and all to do with farming....Stalls etc etc....people get dressed up as old Devon Farmers or Scarecrows. Its usually the second week in October.
I only go if its not raining ....just love tasting all the cheeses & sausages !!

Marilyn that was lovely it had to be read twice to make me understand what some of the words were with the Devonish brogue. It sound great the ones we went to were not like that yes they did have horses and pens with pigs and sheep in but that was all most of it was f arm produce and flowers and stalls. they had a tall pole which was greased with goose fat (I think it was ) and the guys use to try and climb to the top I hope the weather stay fine for that show.

Oh my god Pauline....No I don't go to all of them ....LOL
Some of those are morbid..... the Lynch Way is only for the most saddest Devon folk around ....its where they used to takes corpses across the moor for burial, and do you know people still follow that tradition , just a walk in murky soggy moors ......No thanks.
The Pennies Day I have been to.... its just penny throwing that are suppose to be heated and thrown to the poor by well off people back in time to make them laugh at the little hands of the poor ....how sad is that ? But its not pennies anymore but real silver coins so hundred of kids scramble for them.
Most of the others are during times that I'm not here, but I wouldn't go to them. the Barrels are on November 5th .....Dangerous !! they fill barrels with gunpowder or whatever they can find to run through the streets with them on there shoulders ...Stupid !! should be banned .
My god I think I have been a tour guide this morning ...LOL
