The one of The House with my sister and I in the carriage is much nicer when it enlarged. well i think it is. I had it framed and it hangs on my wall. Sheila as you can see is the one with dark glasses and Grey Hair.
That house is the only a little of that Estate it has its own church and the church is full of plaques with my ancestors names on those that were killed during the war and there are plaques telling you that the Mallocks donated other things to the church. but it has no head stones left only the pilliar on the walls outside the church give those buried there. the villiage is thatched the school house the little cottages and the forge along with other things there are three Lakes (I think it was three) and vast woodland They were so pleased when I told them we were related to them by ancestry and had the wills to prove it.

Everyone tells me I dont look my age and look well,even my own GP tells me that yet I have so many things wrong. He said people would be surprised if they knew.

Pauline that list you have given Marilyn you have the birth place of my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Ackland she was born in Ottery St Mary in 1834 she came from a large family and there are Acklands everywhere they orignated from Quakers in 1600 Elizabeth was 14 years old when she married my Grandfather and he was 11 years older than her. they had 14 children and 4 died. The family came from the Honiton district; so seeing their birth palces made me smile and Marilyn telling us what there fairs were I thought they must have gone to those.

Well I was asked what I looked like ? and some wanted photos of me so now you have them.
mine you this last two years I am begining to get streaks of grey in my hair not too many but they are coming.

I think I will go and hide myself now that I am on file with a photo. anyway if nothing else it will give you all a good laugh. the hats in the Land Army use to be big like Aussie hats but they changed them to bererts. and if we lost any of your unitform we had to pay for the next ones.
I was told the first night I got there put your clothes under your mattress and the legs of the beds in your boots no one can steal then from you.unless you were not in bed. Lol

I brought a news paper this morning I dont buy them very often but wanted to read about Ian Camerom David's father no wonder he said his father was brave that poor man lost both his legs and an eye.

we had rain a little while ago not much as I didnt even know it was raining until I saw someone go by with the brolley up. it is now sunny and not at all cold.

Rita you were, and still are a stunner. I bet you had loads of young men chasing you round the farm, when you were in the L.A.

It is worrying that we have not heard from Jean, I do hope she is o.k.
I didn't notice if the birthdays thread was still being done. I know her daughter did it the last time she was unwell.

I phoned my doctors today, for an appointment to get some pain killers. Only to be told she is not in today. So I have to ring after 12 tommorrow.
Perhaps thats a better idea, as it gives time for my scan to reach her, even though they send them via the net these days.
I could not believe that when they told me at the hospital, but I suppose it stop them from being lost in the post.

Final day tommorrow then Marilyn, who do you want to win. It's either Victor or Brian for me, not Ullrrrriikka or moaning minnie Nikki. I was glad that Vanessa went last night. She was turning it into the Vanessa Phelps
show, doing interviews all the time. lol

I hope Linda is coping with the youngsters, and not having a nervous breakdown by now, as I probably would have been by now.
I just haven't got the patience I had many years ago.

Shelly, have you got any more exams coming up.?

Just to let you know girls, I have checked back on the thread, and Jean has not been on here, since Monday.
I have sent her a p.m to see if she is o.k.
It is such a worry when we don't hear from our friends for a while.

I thought I hadn't seen Jean's name for a while Mo, I hope she's not having a bad time with her treatment. She's been through a lot lately and must be feeling very weak.

Jean, hang on pet, it'll soon be finished - then you can start building your strength back up.

Rita the photos are great, thank you, you look lovely. How old were you on the old (land army) one? You look very young and pretty, looks like you've got the same type of hair as me - thick and curly. You do look a lot younger than you are, and I wasn't expecting your hair to be so dark. I've got more grey than you and I'm 20 years younger...........how'd you manage that? I want to know your secret.

Mo, no problem, I'm up for a challenge again, bring on those exams Shelly. I thought we did very well last time Mo, even if Shelly wasn't impressed by our efforts.............LOL

Mo, I think Victor is my favorite to win ,not that I like him but I think he has been funny this time around I hated him the last time he was on BB.

Been out gardening today , bought some spring bulbs and they are all out

Thank you girls for those remarks. I was 18 when I went into the Land Army not really I put my age up two years. I tried the wrens first but they knew I was tellig lies about my age. my cousin Doris was the same age and she got through to the Wrens

My hair was always black and curly I never had a perm I had a short bob at one time. when my father in Law was elected Councillor and we went to a ball at The White Heart. but I let it grow back I didnt like it short at one time my hair was down to my waist when I was married my husband use to wash it and Dry it for me. I had it cut shorter when he died

I am surprised it stayed dark my father had the same thick black curly hair and his didnt start going grey till he was nearly 80. he went grey all of a sudden after that..
My sister had Red hair like my eldest son we said she got it from the Scotch side of the family my mother had fair hair. Sheila started going grey when she was about 68 she is slim but I am putting on weight due to having to take 9 steriods a day.It is only this last 18 months but they are trying to get my steriods down .The doctor said steriods make you put on weight.
I always think if you mix with young people and think young ways it goes to helping you stay young.that is why I learn as much as I can I spend time on Open University 2 .

It is strange how you miss people on these boards and this thread as well we had quiet a few

I had my toad in the hole for dinner with new potatoe's and small garden peas. I had some apple sponge I made yesterday with some custard. now you know what else is helping me put weight on.
My friend told me she is getting us fish and chips tomorrow we have it once a month.from the shop.

Got the whip out today and he has painted 3 window sills as they were looking a little dull, a lick of paint and ((((( bingo )))))......looks better already.

Funny letter in the post today, addressed to Mr P Bean all the way from China..!! Well its was a scam.... a Chinese man said that he knew of a Mr Kevin Bean that died intestate in China in a terrible accident ... and this Chinese man Ho Chung was wondering if we were related ....cause he said he banked with him and has got millions to share to beneficiaries and if you e-mail me I will make sure you get your inheritance !!! I think this Email would love to have our Bank details , because that was what he really wanted and he would have cleared out account !!!!!!! he also said please can yo keep this info from anyone else ......so now you all know ..LOL

they try everything dont they.? my son had a call from his bank telling him to cut his bank card up and they would send him a new one as someone was trying to hack into his account. They did that to hiim once before well twice really but the bank stopped the the second time. He told me it runs out the end of the month anyway.. but that was good of them to let him know. I said did you give any details out he said what do you think Mother ? he is always telling me dont give bank details over the phone or on the computer if your asked by someone who phones out of the blue. So thanks for letting me know. I will tell him about that just incase. you never know?
well I am going to watch some TV now I had some tea I did a slice of cheese on toast as they would say Welsh Rarebit..
so I am going to have some fruit now.

Ooooh I have just had some brilliant news girls. I am going to be a great grandma next May. This is the grandaughter who had the cervical cancer not so long ago.
That means I will be a nan in January, and a great nan in May.
Looks like I had better get the knitting needles out again Linda.

I have little M today and the twins are at nursery until 12:15, then I pick them up for lunch and until 2:30. So a shorter day today.

Had a call from OFSTED yesterday, they are due to do their checks soon, so I have to get everything in order. So if I am missing it will be under a pile of paperwork. But I will be around

I have just had my shower and washed my hair.then I made some porraige for breakfast for a change.I usually have toast.
but I am on a special now using the food I have in the house rather than buy other so what I have will get eaten first before I buy anything else. being as it looks as if I will lose my bus pass. TV licence I will now have to pay for the over 75 free one is likely to go. and the heating allowance
stayed up to watch the Cuts debate last night.
Makes me smile there is Prince Charles telling us we must do more to keep Green because of the Climate change for the future generation. I would if I had his money. £50.000 it is costing us for his royal train he is using to go about the country apreading the Green about with him

Rita ...no way will your bus pass be taken from you. I think what they will do is from now on start giving bus passes to 65yrs & over instead of 60yrs those that already have one will be exempt , I read in the tabloid talk of this from a government minister.

Mine is almost worn out !!!!! the numbers are almost rubbed Out ..!! LOL

We had a local debate in West Country on our channel last night as well
very interesting, but cuts have to come whether we like it or not .

I'm off out today ......to see my dad, he needs his shower fixed so Pete has his tools at the ready.

Congratulations Mo, that's great news about your granddaughter. It's wonderful that she's been able to get pregnant after having cervical cancer. You must all be thrilled.

I can see the sparks coming off Mo's knitting needles from here. Don't go near Linda with those sparks, she's under a pile of paper - we might need the fire-brigade.

Ooooooooh, look at Marilyn showing off with her little hearts, aren't you getting clever Marilyn? Won't be long before you'll be giving Pete computer advice.

Rita, I don't think they'll take your bus pass off you, I don't know what they'll do, we'll just have to wait and see.

I think Jean must be in hospital, the last time she went missing for a few days it was because they'd kept her in. I wish that treatment was over so she could start to pull herself together a bit.

Was Shelly on yesterday? Can't see her name on this page, I'll go back and have a look.
