Morning All !
(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?
Tea or Coffee
Porridge, Cereals, Fresh Fruit juice, Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, White Pudding, Black Pudding, Mushrooms, Hash Browns. Etc. Toast.
All on the hot plate. Get tore in.
Dame Shelly, A C-Card at 13! Your son must be the only early 'riser' in your house !!!!!!! LOL
Great Ceilidh. Families having fun. My wee grandaughters had their last dance at 10.30pm.....in their pyjamas It was way past their bedtime and to ease things when they got home we always change them into their pyjamas so that their dad can put them straight to bed after the drive home that usually puts them to sleep.
About to get my things ready for the Remembrance Service today. How quickly the year has passed. Friends and comrades will be remembered. A special thought for my son and all others at war. At least my Beret still fits like a glove....I'd need a shoe horn to get into the rest. LOL
It's aslo a day for me to think about my own family. Seven brothers, four sisters, Mum and Dad, MIL, FIL and four of our children, all no longer with me. My last brother died in February. So I suppose I can say that I'm an 'only one' now. !!!!!! Or should that be an 'orphan'. LOL
Six of my brothers were Scottish Soldiers and saw action in all parts of the world. The eldest was Royal Navy and served on the Midget Subs in the Far East during WW2.
Our wee mother must have been worried sick when she saw any of her laddies going to war, bur she never showed it. She was short in stature but a tower of strength to us all.
My sisters saw action too.....with any bloke daft enough to ask them out. LOL.
Although today is to remember the fallen I personally think that not enough is being done to remember those still living who are physically and mentally scarred by combat. Families also need support to help them cope with daily life. And it's not just money they need.
Catch you all later.

A momento of a WW1 Hero.
Whilst organising my stuff for today, I came across a treasured photo.
It's a photo of my son,Calum, taken alongside Bill Stone, one of the last survivors of WW1. Bill was Royal Navy.
What's so special about the photo ?
Bill was then 102 and my son was 22. A lifetime of a difference in age.
We were at a RN Dinner that night in Portsmouth. Bill got up and sung.....he was good....and didn't even need a mike.
The last I saw of Bill he was leading the Parade past the Cenotaph in Whitehall, but sadly he was being driven.
He died in January 2009 aged 108.

Morning All
Stephen you have brought me to tears this morning. I am no feeling too good but reading your remarks has made me feel how lucky I have been. to loose all those brothers and sister along with your parents is a terrible loss. I and my sister lost all our Family parents aunts uncles and husbands.we have our children although my sister lost her youngest son when he was 21. . Life hits some more than others. but it is all out of our hands . I often wonder why it happend to some people. . maybe him above thinks they have the strength to take it. ? I just have no answer for that. My husband was just 61 when he died.heart attack.I wondered why him he was kind.helped people never walked by anyone that needed help..

Morning Rita and Stephen Today is one for reflection, so don't be too sad Rita. Be thankful that you had your husband and now your children, who are from you both. He sounds a lovely man. He was taken too young, but may have lived with disabilities had he lived. I have most of my family still living though I lost my eldest brother aged only 22 years. My husband lost his Mum 5 years ago. But I still have one great aunt aged 80. I never knowingly lost anyone in war, but have now traced some through doing the genealogy.
Have a good day everyone
Linda :o) XxX

Shelly I forgot to tell you Rose who I told you about with those graves is away at her daughters for a few days it appears she had a fall so they took her home with them. Linda your right my doctor in Norfolk came and said to me Rita no way would John have wanted to live after that he wouild have been a cabbage and that was not John. he was right.of course . it was just I tried to revive him but could not and I felt guilty. My husband was so active played golf, fished fly and coastal fishing played football . was always at the pool swmining he would go to the shooting range when he could. he was a snipper in the army.during the war.. Like you Maddie I weep buckets during the memorial service. mine is a family of regular Army and Royal Marines one my grandson's is out in Oman at the moment he is in the royal engineer and has seen service in Afganistan as well. when you see these badly injured soldiers you have to be amazed at how they fight to get back to as near normal as they can. god bless them.

Um...Poshpixie..I was just answering the questions I was being asked...cant understand why you think I was being unfriendly..please tell me what I have said wrong. I know people loose loved ones be it human or otherwise. We still have had no justice yet from what happened. I cant see why you feel the need to have given such harsh words?? I can see there are some new names here so just trying to let them know what I was referring to......I am baffled, so perhaps you can fill me in on what I have said wrong, as I have only made 3 or 4 posts in as many days!

Back again !
Ready to do your heads in with more madness !!!!!
Marilyn, Up early, rubbish, I don't believe you. You're sitting up in bed with your lappy and a big bottle of wine. You'll be saying your going Power Walking on the beach next, when all you really do is Power walk to the Fridge for more vino LOL You must have read it wrong Marilyn or I must have mislead you with my poor command of English. Yes my daughter is still with us and as you know I have a son. But we have lost four children over the years.
Beret and medals put away for another wee while.
What do I want for Christmas.....NO....not another thong.....please.....I have too many already.
Perhaps a Currly Wig. Now that would change my looks.
And a nice tight fitting male girdle to give instant transformation to my existing 'six pack' LOL
Gonna have a nice coffee and a wee relax for a bit. Ease myself back to reality.
See ya soon !

Rita, Hubby a Sniper. One of my brothers was a Sniper in the Argylls. A few of his Regiment came to his funeral and one of them told me what the Regiment called him........ 'Sneaky Pete, the Super Sniper' It was the first I had heard him called that. Rather funny really. I suppose he must have been good at his job.!!!!!

Thanks for the pm Posh I have always tried to be friendly on here...I may have at times sounded brash/unfriendly...one of the problems of the written word over the spoken word... I havent been on here for many months because I have been busy & I know others are busy within their lives too. I have now found a little time to visit now & again....let me know if you would rather I didnt visit.

Hello folks, tis I moaning minnie Mo. I had my two minute silence sitting in the bath, remembering all the lost souls, from all wars, and those suffering the after affects of them. Also thinking of my dear dad who we lost in 1977,at the age of 59.
Enough Enough, let us all be grateful for what they have given us.
Lady, of course we still want to hear from you. It's good to catch up with each other, and hear all the news.
Stephen, I believe M+S now do a mans pants to endow them in a certain department. If you need a girdle, you may have to get Mrs Stephen to get you a ladies one. I think they come in different sizes, ranging from SML to XXL, you must surely come in that bracket somewhere.
Hows the weather where you all are,it's been a stinking wet day here. I'm fed up of it,and thinking we should all have our own holiday on here. Any one up for a mad breakaway.

Thank you Sue for that remark. I think we all go through something in our life time that makes us wonder. ? I know I have often wondered why some poeople have such a hard life and great loss while others seem to go through life with next to no worries.
Lady. It is nice to see you back on the thread. I dont have any idea to what you were speaking about earlier on. ? someone upset you is that what you are saing /
Stephen. My husband went to France Greece and Egypt he was good at shooting and when they called people up for two weeks specialist training in 1951 he was the first in our area to get called up;. what upset him was he was sent to another regiment for that two weeks The Royal Artillary and he wrote and asked why he could not go back into his regiment The Royal Fusilers. They were not plesed about that. I think they thought there would be an other war in the Gulf.

Aren't you going to make a sandcastle then Marilyn? Show willing.
We had some sunshine today but it didn't dry any of the clothes, I'm still trying to dry them in the machine.
Lady, has that man not been sentenced yet? Why is it taking so long?
Rita, I didn't know your husband was a sniper.
Stephen, you still didn't tell me how many medals you have.
