Afternoon all

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 <3

What lovely gifts, you are lucky. It's nice to have personalised gifts. The Robin sounds sweet, eating from your hand. I've never come across a wild bird being that tame before. Are you doing anything special today Mel.

Dull morning here too. We had some rain yesterday and it looks like it's rained in the night too.

Yes Frank it is an odd situation to be in. Michelle is aware of it too, so hopefully she'll not get herself into trouble debt wise, so we won't lose our home. It's still on the market so if we find a buyer we'll have to give it some serious thought into moving, that way the problem will be gone. Although we love this place, it's a lot of worry to have for 5 years so moving will give us peace of mind. We'll just have to see what the future holds and hope it good to us.

I'm still full of cold so know how you're feeling Frank, let's hope we both feel better soon. <3 <3. Enjoy your match later. Hope West Ham WIN. Given how you're feeling a takeaway is probably the best thing to do, rather than going out in the cold.
I hope Ros will be able to pick Lewis up ok. It sounds like two nasty accidents. Hopefully the M1 will be cleared when Ros needs to drive on it.

How lovely Jane to get a big bouquet of flowers. What a great start to the day.

I've decided to take it easy today. My mum has this bug now and OH said some of the staff at work have it too. I'm going to stay in and keep warm. Going to ring the window people later to check they're still coming on Monday to replace the glass. At least that'll be one thing fixed and out of the way. We've got another viewing in a week so it'll be nice to have a window you can actually see through lol.

Off to get a cuppa now. I've been very thirsty lately.

Thanks Frank. I did think you had forgotten your favorite girl (apart from Ros of course) on her birthday.

It's nice that all you men remember their loved ones on my birthday!! ;-) ;-) Our postman must think I have many admirers when he sees the amount of cards that arrive. :-S

Jane Report 14 Feb 2015 13:48

Gill I was just thinking that this is about time that people start looking at houses again (once the winter is over). So hopefully viewings could start to pick up.I bet you are torn really as to stay or go.What a dilemma. :-S

What a pity your Mum has now got the bug, especially after getting the good news that she is now all clear from the Cancer.

I have just lit the fire and am keeping watch on it to see how our new logs burn. This means I can't get on with the ironing....Oh dear ;-) :-D.Chris has gone out to the Summerhouse to do some more painting. His last words as he went out was"Don't let the fire go out"...Huh ! as if I dare lol

Mel you have had a lot of cards haven't you !!!!.I only took Chris's cards down yesterday.I had left them up for much longer than usual .Only because I forgot they were still there.

Jess bought James an Icelandic Recipe Book for Valentines...I have just had a peek at it...........and wonder actually how much use it is going to get .There are some very strange things in it :-S :-S :-S.He is cooking for them both this evening so I think it might be something from the book.I did tell him that he can't start his cooking until I have done mine. :-DI was thinking that they were having a proper meal out in Cambridge today and wouldn't need anything cooked tonight.I got that wrong then :-S

<3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 <3 <3 Hope you are having a lovely day. You did very well with all those cards and pressies, I think a personalised gift like your mug means so much more than anything really expensive, shows OH has put a lot of thought into what to get you.

The carpet man came at 8.45, I'd just got up :-0 He did a brilliant job and I am really pleased with it, am a bit busy painting cards today, so many birthdays this time of the year, so I might move back in the bedroom tomorrow.

What about the little girl Ann in that programme that whispered to another girl about the 'bully boy', just bite him she said that's what my daddy said. Hilarious.

Afternoon all,

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Happy Birthday Mel <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hope your enjoying your day ,that was nice OH having the mug printed with your little Robbie on .

We have been sorting out car insurance, we had the quote in the post ,looked on line and found it cheaper and that was with the same company !! gave them a ring and got that price ,a nice saving of nearly fifty pound ,now why carn't they just give you that price to start with !!

Hope all the poorly ones soon feel better , your poor nose Fiona it must be so sore ,i'am on the same tablets as you and they do make your mouth so dry in the night ,i don't suppose they are helping things .

Oh heck our fire has gone out !! i just heard a few choice words !!
Better make a cuppa .

Jane

Jane Report 14 Feb 2015 15:54

Whose job was it Mandy to watch the fire???? You or OH .It's a real pain when it goes out as I find it more difficult to get going again :-S

Maureen what colour carpet did you choose?I still seem to be getting a fair bit of dusty stuff ,which I think is from the carpet.
I want to see that programme again .Bully Boy was a bit of a bully wasn't he.But I think he was terribly spoiled at home and just got what he wanted.I loved it at the end when he gave Skyla the little note saying sorry for upsetting her(when he knicked her chocolate !!!.She was a strange child and didn't seem to really connect with any of the others.I just thought it was a brilliant programme.
Our dinner this evening is the Waitro** dine for 2...Bang goes the healthy eating.
It is individual cheese soufflés for starters, then Sirloin Steak(it should have been Ribeye) a range of veg plus some of my own. Then New York Cheesecake for pudding.
I feel stuffed just thinking about it .I think Chris said there is also a little box of choccies too.Just half a dozen...Oh I missed out some chips to go with the steak :-D

I don't think I will be doing a Roast tomorrow lol.I was going to as Jess loves my roast dinners.(I don't think she ever gets one at home)
We always had a roast on a Sunday when I was young.I never remember any other meal other than a roast. It was the highlight of the week.Mum was a great cook.
I have been thinking of her today .I can't believe it is 10 years now since she died.
I had been down to Plymouth with my Sister and Hannah for the weekend to see Mum in hospital and to have a look at new homes for her as she was too bad Dementia wise to go back to the home she had been in.
We left her in the afternoon and by the time I had driven home dropping Janice off in Cheltenham she had passed away :-(.Chris met me at the front door to say he had just received the phone call fro the hospital.I always wished we had stayed just a few hours longer and then we would have been with her..But you just don't know when it is going to happen.
I know I have said many times how grateful I am to Mum and Dad for adopting me as they gave me the best life growing up.One that I know for sure I would never have had
if I hadn't been put up for adoption. My other birth siblings ended up in Childrens Homes :-(

Must go an do battle now with the Duvet cover and quilt :-S..Oh what a job!!!!

Do you have any other side effects with your pills apart from a dry mouth, and what dosage are you taking.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 14 Feb 2015 16:36

Hubby lit it Jane so it was his job to watch it ,i was on line trying to sort out the car insurance ,he was backwards and forwards keeping an eye on me :-D

Fiona ,i'am on 10mg's i can take one or two tablets at night but i only take the one as they make me so sleepy i'd never wake up in the mornings if i had two !! they were given to me for the pain in my knee .
Son has been given them too for his headaches .

We're having Indian tonight ,nice and easy all prepared just bung it in the oven .

Afternoon All,

:-) :-D <3 <3Happy Birthday Mel <3 <3 :-D :-)

Oh you did get a lot of cards! I can just imagine the postman's surprise and wondering about your hidden charms. ;-) lol. That was thoughtful of your OH to come up with those ideas of a Robbie mug and card!

Cards are so expensive these days aren't they. I got a few lovely ones from OH this year, often there's another but he said he couldn't find a funny one this year.....all tacky or vulgar rather than humerous he said!! I've kept all the cards he's sent me since we met, with all the lovely things he's written in them. <3

Now it is half term it seems to be the day for accidents. OH called me earlier to say he was stuck on the outer ring road of the city. The air ambulance had just landed a little way in front of him. He was only yards from the exit he wanted to Nottingham as well. He was just glad he hadn't been a few minutes earlier though and said one of the cars was completely mangled. By the time the traffic could move again he was too late to get to the match he intended to go to and has gone to a local one nearby at Quorn.

Well done to Katherine for getting an interview for the job she would really like and best wishes to her for the interview.

Frank it's a good idea to stay put while you aren't well. Sorry you only get pecked these days ......some don't even get that!! ;-) ;-) lol

Mandy I am on 60mgs , one 50mgs a tan looking pill, and 1 10mgs blue pill , It has taken me over 2 years to get to this amount to help with the nerve endings in my scalp, I take them both about 7 pm , try to make sure it's not any later as you say they make you sleepy, but what is strange is that after taking my pills some nights I am in bed about eight can't keep my eyes open , other nights I can stay up till 10 or there about, it's never the same.

Annx

Annx Report 14 Feb 2015 17:15

Mandy it does pay to shop around doesn't it. :-D Sometimes they try and tell you the lower price is just for new customers. Wrong answer to give me! I asked one that said that to me didn't they want their old customers anymore then and soon got a better quote.

I was reading today that rats are getting bigger!! Apparently David Attenborough doesn't like them and when he was in India and got a dodgy tummy there as many do, he was visiting his white friend, as Frank would say, and one shot out of the toilet between his thighs!!!!! :-0

Don't talk to me !!! What a performance from WEST HAM lost 4 --0 to W.B.A. After the forth goal I turned over.

Jane, You must not blame yourself in anyway about your Mum. It is always difficult when you have such a long journey home.

As if I could FORGET you Mel, you are one of my HAREM. !!!

To all you sicko's. I hope you start to feel better soon. I feel like a bag of MANURE. hot and cold, stuffed up nose. etc. The heating is on high and I am sitting with a fleece round my legs.

Mandy/Fiona, what tablet are you on. ?? They must be strong to leave you feeling like that.

Ros set of at 4.30 to get Lewis from work in M.K. When they get back I will order the Chinese and he can choose anything he fancies. I think I will just have a Crab meat and sweet corn soup. I just do not feel hungry, and have no taste.

Mandy, Every year I check on line for the "BEST DEAL" on any insurance that I need. There is no sense in staying with a Company that's not giving you the best deal.

Back to my armchair. Have a good evening whatever you may be doing .

Jane

Jane Report 14 Feb 2015 17:27

Just realised I have still been burning the old logs !!!!,and there was me telling Chris the new ones were fine LOL...
Did OH want to make sure you were doing things right on line Mandy? I have never done anything like insurance on line .I leave all that kind of thing to Chris. He certainly wouldn't trust me and I don't blame him as I would have no idea what I was doing.
But he does trust me when it comes to booking holidays.I think that is because although I start of doing it on line I always end up ringing and booking by actually talking to someone. That way I know I am not going to make any mistakes :-D :-D

I've had a lovely day and it has been sunny and dry here all day. We had a visit from three deer who walked across the garden and disappeared over the bank in the orchard.

While I was outside having a ciggy and feeding the robins a little vole came along the edge of the patio and popped in and out of the flower pots along the edge and then went into my fairy fountain right under the big fairy and out again and down the hole at the side of the paveing slabs.

24 red roses were delivered after lunch with a valentines card so they needed seeing to.

We have just had tea and chocolate cake that had two hearts on the top and I feel full to the brim now. Hav'nt put a thought to dinner.............................

I have the blue tablets Fiona , gosh i don't know how you keep awake after a dose like that .
Frank they are Amitriptyline ,i take them for the pain in my knee.

I look on line find a price and then ring them ,i'd rather speak to someone than make a mistake with the payment on line .

No wonder the logs were burning well then Jane :-D

Sounds as if you are enjoying your day Mel with flowers and cake and even the Deer who came by to say Happy Birthday :-D

We have had our Indian meal ,i now have a lovely fresh cream muffin sitting beside me :-D

Evening all

Sorry to hear your West Ham team didn't win Frank. Let's hope they win next time <3.
12 Red Roses Mel, you really are being spoilt today. How nice to see the deer and vole.

Sounds like you had lovely parents Jane. Leaving early will always be on your mind, but you mustn't blame yourself, you weren't to know. At least you saw her that day and that's what counts.
How nice, an Icelandic Recipe Book, does James cook a lot. Is the lamb soup he liked in the book, that would be nice for him if it is.

Glad to hear your carpet's down now Maureen. I bet you can't wait to get back into your bedroom tomorrow. What is the new colour of carpet and paint.

Off to watch the end of the voice now with Sandra, she loves that program <3

Jane

Jane Report 14 Feb 2015 20:41

OK Frank we won't talk to you lol Bet you are old grumpy pants now your team lost :-| :-|

I don't blame myself for leaving Mum when we did.We had been there all day and it was going to take me 7 hours to drive home with dropping my sister off and both her and Hannah had to be at work the next day.It is just that wishing 'if only'.
Hannah rang earlier to say she had landed and was on the train back to her house. She said that she had been thinking of Grandma today...That set me off. :-(

Now Ann I don't want to hear that Rats are getting bigger thank you very much :-S
We have had to put more bait down again in one of the boxes today.I just hope they aren't too big to get in there to take the bait :-D

Mel you have had lots of nice things today :-D.If you are like me you have to go and hunt out a vase for the flowers .A big enough one .

Dinner all done and dusted here. The next sitting will be later.James and Jess have gone off to Tes** for ingredients for some kind of Pancakes.I think I will be in bed by the time they start cooking.
Gill, James enjoys cooking.I must ask him if the Lamb Stew Recipe is in the book.He did say when he got back from Iceland that he would like to try and make it.
I bet it will be much better than what I turned out :-D

Ann that was so lucky that OH was a few minutes behind that dreadful accident.
As you say it have been a dreadful day on the roads :-(

Rubbish TV at the moment.I want to stay awake for Casualty but have a feeling I won't last.Plus I would rather be out of the way when the Pancake Cooking begins.
