Jane Report 18 Feb 2015 18:16

HELLO LIZ :-D :-D :-D :-D I spied you there :-D
Welcome back .It's good to see old friends again (not that I'm saying you are old of course ;-)

The film was good and funny.Ann I would go and see it .I think you'd enjoy it.
The traffic in Kettering was total grid lock right back to the A14 coming in.it was to do with Wicksteed park.Apparently it was a free Play Day and sing along to Frozen.People were turning up from all over the country and the park had to close the gates !!!!!.Poor little children not getting in would have been so upset.I dread to think of some of the adults tempers too :-S :-S.I think it was just supposed to be for local children but it went viral on Twitter and F Book.Hence the number of families turning up.

Gill I don't think this company would have got your number from a Solicitor. It would be just like all the other cold calls .There a right pain in the derriere :-|
Ha! I just answered the phone it was a recorded one to do with PPIs :-S :-S :-S

Fiona what is your new suite like? I can't remember if you said.I really need a new one. This one is just too low for us now and the leather on one of the settees in particular is all scratched on the cushions from when Chester used to sleep on it.
We were supposed to have had the rules of not letting him on the furniture....That lasted 2 minutes :-S

10 Senna plus that jollop .Maureen I would take a pillow and duvet in the loo with you tonight lol.Hope it all goes well tomorrow. It doesn't seem a year since your last one.

How has the dentists gone today Mel? Love the pics of the Butterfly on the Snowdrops. :-D

Gill I haven't heard from the person who I contacted about her tree.I don't think I will.
These free sites are very useful aren't they.Good job they are available.I often think I might not renew my Ancestry as i haven't really used it too much in the last year. But I will see.I think I have until October

Frank ,how many times have you tripped on that step with the basket of washing ending up doing your 20yd dash !!!!!!!!!!!.Can you go down it sideways? Then you will see the step :-D

Poor little Lewis. Is he still getting plenty of fluids in? I bet they go in and are straight out by the sound of it.I hope he won't have tho have a trip to the Drs tomorrow. <3
It's always such a worry.I remember when James was 10months he was so bad with diarrhoea that he ended up in hospital on a drip :-(.When the GP came out to see him he was just lying on the floor like a rag doll.Hannah was only 3 then and I was staying at the hospital with James.I think Chris with the help of a neighbour looked after Hannah..It is times like that when I really needed to have family living near to call on for help. But Mum and Dad and Janice were all about 300 miles away then.

James will be late tonight as he is going to see Johnny's Mum.So I said I would cook a bit of chicken for him ready to go in a stir fry he will do himself. Also need to get a couple of frozen Chillies out. These are our own from last year and keep getting forgotten and there are so many !!!!.I hate Chillies :-S

magpie

magpie Report 18 Feb 2015 18:33

I agree Jane, I don't like Chillies either, in fact anything too hot these days is a no no for both of us! Tonight we've got Sweet and Sour Pork with Rice, nice and easy and not too much clearing up!!
It's been a lovely day here and I've done quite a bit of gardening, tidying up and cutting the edges of the grass. Think it's going to rain tomorrow.
Wolf Hall tonight, apart from that zilch!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Feb 2015 18:41

Here I am back from the dentist and the shopping and it's all put away and I have had a sit down after doing the chickens. I have another big girl on the way out I think. That will put me down to 8.

I am going to have to have two more teeth out as I expected. She asked me if I could do without my bottom plate for a week and I replied yes as I hav'nt had it in now for nearly three weeks anyway. Her little tummy looked much bigger today and it's only three weeks since I have seen her. She dos'nt know what sex the baby is which I thought rather nice. She said she wanted a surprise. I think she may have a little girl.....we shall have to wait and see

Such a nice surprise to see our Liz back with us again and I have heard from David as I sent him the butterfly pics too. I replied and asked him how he and Ellen were and if he is not with GR now to write to me and I will put his posts on here. Same as I did for Liz.

Nice easy din dins tonight, cold chicken salad and chips.

Jane

Jane Report 18 Feb 2015 18:43

Oh poo I have rubbed my eyes after taking those chillies out. They aren't even cut :-S
I don't do hot or anything really spicy .Just the smell makes my face sweat and my throat go claggy .

Yes I think think rain is back tomorrow .It has been such a lovely day,and there was us in a restaurant and then the cinema.Typical .
Chris will be watching Wolf Hall like you Liz.I will probably go up to bed and see if there is anything else to watch on the laptop. If not it will be my good old Kindle.

James isn't back yet.I hope Johnny's Mum is ok.

magpie Report 18 Feb 2015 18:49

Meant to ask you about your teeth Mel? but I see you have posted about them. I do hope they get sorted soon and you can forget them, so to speak!!
Must empty the dishwasher ready for the next lot of dirty dishes! It's like being on a treadmill!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 18 Feb 2015 19:38

Mel I hope your Dentist will be able to get close enough to you to do your work. lol.I was SO BIG with both my pregnancies HUGE.All out front.I had to perch on the edge of seats rather than sit back(well that was impossible).I didn't know if I was having girls or boys.I don't think I would have wanted to know really. But then there was no way of knowing then anyway .
Mel when you lose one of your girls is it from Old age? or are they ill?I hope this one goes quickly if she is going :-(
I wish I could pinch next doors 2 chickens and bring them down to you. They would have a much happier life.

I just realised it is Eastenders tonight (script free week ).I just want to find out who killed Lucy !!!!.

James has just come in.He had had a text from Johnny's Mum today which is why he went round.Apparently she had been in town today and had bumped in to several people she hadn't seen for a long time and they hadn't known about Johnny's death. So it had brought it all back again :-(.She loves James and he is such a caring person and a good listener .I think this is why she contacted him.Poor Lady...and she is still waiting for the inquest :-S :-S So that is still to happen.I think next month.I can't imagine how she will be able to move on until that is over.

Oh dear Jane, poor lady. I just can't imagine how awful a suicide by one of your children must be. I know when my cousin died of cancer several years ago his parents were devastated, well we all we're, but suicide must be so much worse, and you would always ask yourself why?
We're watching Alaska on BBC 2, it's a series and very good.

Annx Report 18 Feb 2015 20:24

Hi Liz, good to see you back again. :-) Frank had missed my early post about Bud*ies cafe the other day too.........I put it down to his age!!!!!!!! LOL.:-0 :-0 :-0

I think we might go and see it after all then Jane.......didn't Hugh Bonneville do one of the voices? Fancy all that traffic turning up for Wicksteed!! I meant to say that your not so little squirrel was going to get stuck in the feeder if he kept eating all the food, but I lost the big post I'm sure I wrote it in before!!! If only there was a prompt that warned you it was going to be deleted like there is with other things. :-S It's very thoughtful and supportive of James and his pals to keep in touch with Johnny's mum. It must help her knowing he had such good pals.

Oh Mel, not much to look forward to on the teeth front yet then. Hopefully you will at least have your teeth before the dentist has the baby. Are they counting it all as one treatment taking out the extra teeth as they haven't really finished yet have they. If you are with an NHS dentist I think they can only charge you up to a certain limit.......seem to remember seeing the prices when I last went to mine.

OH was later getting back today than he expected so we ate at the garden centre and will have the fishcakes tomorrow. Then we didn't fancy going back home as it was nice and sunny so went to Coalville to see the lady who sells beads as I want some little bronze coloured ones for our next lesson. OH sat in the car reading the newspaper while I had a good chat and look around!! We got diverted on the way and crawled along for ages. Apparently a big development of houses are to be built and they were digging the road up.

Frank, can't you put a slope where those steps are, it might be safer for you? We don't want you ending up covered in bandages like the invisible man. :-S I bet your muscles will be stiff tomorrow.

Best wishes for tomorrow Maureen. <3 I remember OH having one done, not something you want but good to be able to get checked. I have a friend who has to have them regularly too.

Poor little Lewis Mandy.......the sore botty from it makes them miserable too. I hope he improves soon.

Your suite will look very nice Fiona and looks comfy too. I bet you can't wait for it to arrive now and get it put in position. I have to order our settees this week as the sale ends then. I just hope we can sell our old ones. OH said they could go in the garage for a while if not......but I can just imagine what our mice friends would do with them.

Might you have put your mobile number on a form you filled in Gill......it's unlikely it would be your solicitor that would do that. OH once entered a competition with a mobile text and he got unwanted calls after.

Annx Report 18 Feb 2015 20:45

Just saw your last post Jane. How difficult that must have been for her, having to explain and basically relive it all again. The poor woman. She won't forget James' thoughtfulness and kindness to her in these difficult times.

We've been a bit glum today and are worried about what is going on with the fields at the back of us. The farmer is ripping out all the tall hedge across the middle of the field for certain now and was using his J*B and burning big bonfires. Another chap with him was continuing to saw down the tall roadside hedge they started on last year. It's only about 4 foot high now. Instead of a view of lovely Blackthorn blossom and then Hawthorn blossom across the field this year, we'll have a view of vehicles on the road. :-S No watching and listening to the birds in the hedge tops any more either. I'm wondering now whether they will cut down the third side at the back of the field, then we'll get the extra noise and sight of the M1 as well!! Even more worrying.....why are they doing it? I just hope they aren't clearing it ready for building on!!!

Jane Report 18 Feb 2015 20:59

Ann.Hugh Bonneville play the part of Mr Brown..So funny to see him in this film rather than Downton LOL.He was great. Not sure who did the voice of Paddington.I would be happy to see the film again :-D

It doesn't seem to make any difference which roads you take these days. There is always a hold up somewhere along the way :-S

Chris just saw something on Twitter that made him LOL .
It said...When I was young we used to play a game called `knock down Ginger'...(knocking on a door and running away)
These days is is called PARCEL FORCE :-D :-D.....I like it :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Feb 2015 22:31

I like it too Jane and it made me LOL too.

I am going to watch Midsommer Murders now. I just love Sykes. He does his tricks for a sausage and if one of the actors makes a mistake and they have to do a retake he has already had his sausage............ It's just something silly to watch and relax with and there's no swearing in it.

I watched a new thing the other day with Julia MacKensie and Michael Gambon thinking it was going to be good but it was rubbish and there was so much swearing. It is'nt needed and I can't understand why they feel the need to put in all the obsenities.

I meant to say I have never given anyone my mobile number and I get those PPI things and other things one my phone. I think they just go through numbers. On the laand line I keep getting calls about solar panels and loft insulation. I just say we have it all thank you and put the phone down but it does anny me when you have your hands in water and you have to stop to answer the phone. Oh hardly ever answers the phone.

The calls we get about your computer is having trouble etc I tell them oh is a McAfee engineer and they usually hang up.

Oooooo thanks Fiona and Liz for the pics. Love the suite Fiona and all that marmyjam as my dad used to call it. I used to make more than that when I was doing it for the bell fund. Pickles, chutneys, jams, marmalades of different kinds and relishes. When we held the fetes I had a stall in the barrow we used to put outside with the veg on it. Over 80 jars I made one year.

Frank Report 19 Feb 2015 12:36

I don't know if I dare show my face this morning. :-( :-( :-(

Firstly, GOOD MORNING ALL AFTERNOON KIM.

Now with cap in hand. I'M SORRY LIZ, I wouldn't have missed you for the world. It is so nice to see you back amongst your old friends As Ann said it must be my age, watch IT ANN you are on my HIT LIST!!

Wet and windy here also today, and quite dark. Lights and heating on.

I heard about a THEAME PARK being closed on the local news headlines, but didn't know it was Wicksteed's as I was in the kitchen dishing up dinner.

Oh dear Maureen, I do hope your hospital visit went off alright. I can imagine you and your "white friend" getting to know each other all evening ;-) ;-) ;-)

Glad David and Ellen are O.K. give them my regards, next time you contact them.

The steps down onto the lawn would be difficult to convert to a slope, (a) I wouldn't be able to do it. (b) It would have to go into the lawn or it would be to steep. AND ANYWAY where would I get my exercise lol Ros must have know something would happen while she was out. She bought an elastic knee support while shopping which I am wearing at the moment.

How very true about these parcel deliveries. they don't give you a minute to get to the door !!

Mel that Jack Russell in Midsummer is also HARVEY in another advert. He has such a cute little face and his actions always makes Ros and I have a little chuckle
I don't think this series is as good as when John Nettles was Barnaby.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting James, YET. but I am sure he must be a very thoughtful person JUST LIKE HIS MUM.

Ann, surely if anything was going to happen with the fields, he would have to have permission to remove all those bushes and to have planning permission for building. It might be worth contacting the local planning department.

Time for a coffee and a sandwich, and see what we are having for dinner tonight.

See you later. Including our LIZ. I will have my beady eyes open for you.!!!

You're more than forgiven Frank, only pulling your leg!!,,??. I'm really pleased to be back with you all and to have such a warm welcome.
Yes the marmalade should keep us going for a while!! We do it over a weekend and just 'go for it'!
Horrible wet day, but not too cold. We have the farrier this afternoon, I'll try and get a pic, Merlin is very good but he can get a bit restless!!

I've shot a big bunny just before lunch. It was on the front lawn by the box hedge so I crept out with the gun and bop got it first time and it's mate ran up the garden and through the little arch.

Yes Liz we want to see a nice pic of Merlin as we hav'nt seen him for a while.
