Afternoon All
I am just having a minute to say hello and then it will be lunch. Iam just waiting for H&G to get back from the shopes over at Rushden Lakes. Food all ready to go outside so I just need ot heat some flat bread and Garlic Bread.

Glad the party meal was good Frank and that little Alexander love the dinosaur

:-D I did hear how bad some of the flooding was in Northampton last night. Luckily all was fine over this way.

Love the Hedge pics Mel :-D...... I am glad Sandra is well on the mend now Gill and feeling much better.

Hope everyone is ok. I have had no luck trying to get on here so have left it for a while, also my ribs have been hurting especially when using the lap top I have been sleeping downstairs getting out of bed hurts. They are getting better now.

Phew it's been a hot one today ,Jake came and had lunch , he wanted to make a cake so we made a nice Jam and buttercream sponge ,he took that home with him but i bet it wasn't long before it was all eaten ,it did look good .

Mel the pin cushions are lovely ,are they for your collection for the stall ?

Anne your poor ribs ,did you go to the doctor to have them checked out ?you might have cracked a rib ,i hope the pain soon eases for you .

O poor you Anne. I kow it takes a long while when you crack a rib. My dad did that when I was young and he had to have a tight bandage around him.

Gosh it has been hot today here too. I never got up the border with it being in full sun up on the south facing wall. I cut a few brimbles down and docks aroun my shed in the shade. Oh took the wire off my bean tub so I can renew the soil in there. I pulled the weeds out and scraped the soil and up came four vine weevils which quickly went in the nbantam run and they all rushed to get one.

Gill emailed me to say she could'nt get on here but sends you all her love and will try to get on here in the morning.

Had a job to get here this morning so if any of you don't manage to get on here today I quite understand.

Now Specsavers hav'nt rung me to say my glasses are ready yet so I don't know whether to go there today or not. Its going to be busy in Bideford anyway with half term.

Been very busy all weekend with family, so planning a quiet day! Thanks for he photos Mel, it all looks very nice.
Swallows are finally here and busy refurbishing their old nest, our grandson was fascinated with them, also the Jenny Wren who is nesting in the pump house!

Not the best of days yesterday, we both didn't sleep well. Ros was up ay 3.00 am looking ar the paper work for her hospital visit. She has to have another PRE- OP check, which she will do today. She's getting a bit worried, even though she's not saying anything.

Jo collected JJ around 1.00 pm. At that time my neck and shoulder were giving me a lot of discomfort. She decided to massage it. It was full of KNOTS, which she tried to break down, leaving me in a lot of pain.

I had already booked a table at the "GREYHOUND" earlier in the day, so we went there at 3.00 pm. The gardens and inside were heaving with customers, and with only TWO BAR STAFF on DUTY. Chaos or what !!!. Anyway we got a table outside under a big canopy, had a nice meal and a couple of drinks.

Sarah bought Biggles back about 6.00 pm. He was totally shattered, and slept all evening. In fact Ros said this morning that he didn't want to go out last night. This morning I opened the door at 7.00 am and he still didn't go out.

Her hairdresser made a mess of her hair last Friday, so she has rung this morning and is going back at 3.30 this afternoon.

I have had to notify the parking people hat there will be three passengers to be taken to the airport, and not just us two. Things you have to think about. I will need holiday after all this. !!! :-| :-| :-|

We had the THUNDER AND LIGHTNING again last night that put the television off for a time. Not sure what is will be today.

Ros has just asked that I go to the hospital with her. so I had better get showered and shaved.

Morning All
I seem to be chasing my tail this morning. I had to go and get some nice bread and butter with salt flakes in to take down to Fitz in a minute,and then I had to pick up my prescription . So I am having a quick cup of coffee now and have to be at Fitz for 11.50. He is picking up this Canadian chap who is coming to see all the bits Fitz has on this Ancestor that Justin has been intersted in.I am quite looking forward to meeting him.

Sorry you both had a bad night Frank. I expect as you say Ros has 'her op' on her mind now .

Anne you poor thing with your painful Ribs :-(. Do you have a bed downstairs or are you having to sleep in a chair? At least it sounds like things are becoming a little less painful now.

I must fly. I need to spend a penny and brush my teeth. Then off to help with setting up the lunch .We are eating outside on the terrace ,so fingers crossed there won't be a shower !!It is pretty gloomy at te moment but hopefully it will be like yesterday afternoon and the sun will shine.Although at the moment it doesnt look likely.

Evening all,

Another nice day i got all the washing dry and we've had a good day getting lots of little jobs done ,front lawn cut and the clippings and other garden rubbish taken to the tip, i washed out some pots ready for the tomato plants ,my cucumber plants are getting really big now ,we also put the runner beans in so a good day all round .

Hope Ros got on ok at the hospital today and sorry to hear you had another bad night Frank .

Hope you had a good day with Fitz Jane and that the chap who was coming has helped with the tree .

Poor Gill not being able to post ,i hope she can sort out the problem .

What a lovely afternoon I have had with Fitz and this chap Justin. He isn't doing the family tree Mandy .His job is research in 'Gay' History and has a great interest in Fitz's Step Grandfather who was taken to court at the Old Bailey back in 1933 for immoral acts with another man.It was in the News of the World and was quite international news at the time.Fitz had so many great things to do with his Step Grandfather to show Justin. We even dismantled a locket to find a lock of hair from the dead mother (taken afer death)!! .Fitz had no idea it was there . I won't go on anymore but it was a very interesting afternoon.

It is getting late and I think bed will not be too far away ....The sun never did come out here today :-S but it was just about warm enough to sit out.

37th Anniversary for us tomorrow !

I'm pleased you had a good day Mandy. It makes you feel good when everything starts to come together.

Jane too it sounded so interesting especially finding the hair in the locket. That must have been a real surprize.

I am really having trouble just getting to the thread. I keep getting the error page and when I do get to the site I have to go to General Chat and find the thread and then go from page one to 10 and so on a few times then jump a few more pages and it takes ages and ages. I wonder if everyone is having trouble getting to their thread ?

Have been chasing around since we got up. With all these restrictions on size of bags and cases for these blooming airlines, you don't know if you will end up with extra expense having to put things in the hold. Just wait and see. !!!

Another storm last night, everywhere is soaked. I felt a bit silly going down to the greenhouse this morning, feeding the tomato's, and filling all the trays with the plants in.

Biggles has just gone home, his owner has just rung to say they re on their way home. Sarah has taken him to his house, so he shouldn't be on his own for too long.

This is getting a real JOKE trying o get on the thread. It's time they got any problems sorted. I can't think it's just us having trouble.

The bathroom is now empty, so I will say BYE for now, and get myself showered,shaved and dressed. Paperwork and PASSPORTS are on the table ready for the off around mid-day. We will go to the Harvester for a bite to eat, then make our way to Luton.

Thanks Mel for passing on the message. I tried all day to get on the thread but kept getting the error page, I couldn't even go through it page by page. I had the error page this morning too but managed to creep through the pages until I got to the end. I even tried post date yesterday and even that didn't work. I did miss you all and glad I'm on here now :-) <3

Sorry to hear you're still in pain with your ribs Anne, maybe you should have it checked out just to be on the safe side. I hope the pain eases soon and you can sleep in your own bed again.

It sound very interesting what Justin had to say and fancy finding the lock of hair. Fitz does have quite an interesting family doesn't he Jane?

You were really busy yesterday Mandy. I had a full day of washing on Monday, I ended up with three full lines of washing in the end as I changed all the beds as well as the normal clothes. Our tomato plants are coming on well, I just hope they don't get blight like they did last year. I sterilised the pots they were in with boiling water before storing them away for the winter so hopefully the tomato blight won't come back again this year. Sandra's strawberries are doing really well so she should have quite a lot this year. Your cucumber plants sound like they are coming on nicely.

Loved the pin cushions Mel, I was thinking they may of been for the Christmas craft fair too :-)

How lovely to see the birds nesting Liz, I can imagine how excited your grandson must of been. How old is he? Sandra loves watching the birds and the other day a blackbird was washing herself in some water that hadn't drained from one of our large pots, it was lovely to see, but unfortunately the water has gone now so when she came back the second time there was nothing for her. I said to Sandra we'll buy a bird bath and pop it behind the pot she washed in, then hopefully she'll come back and use it.

So you had an interesting day yesterday Jane ,fancy finding the hair in the locket Fitz must have been pleased to find that after not even knowing it was in there .

Not a lot happening here today ,we were going shopping i was getting ready went in the loo and as i pulled my trousers up i some how pulled my back , i felt a mighty twinge and pain shot through my back so I'm sitting in the chair after taking some
pain killers hoping that they do the trick

Grey old morning here ,we had a thunder storm about quarter to three this morning didn't last that long but the rain just tipped down ,the poor roses took a battering as the flowers were just coming out so the heads are hanging down now but i expect they'll soon perk up.

Morning all,

So we have lost our lovely Frank for two weeks have we? Safe journey Frank you will be sorely missed I can tell you. <3

That above is supposed to be a bunch of flowers for Jane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It seems the text art dos'nt work on here anymore. :-S

Now I have a little story to tell you of last night hog visit.

I had bought myself a chicken breast quarter in Morrisons yesterday and took all the bones off and skin and bits I did'nt want and put it in two hog bowls. Then I put their tin meat in there and the dried food on the top of that. I took them out one on top of the other with a tea plate on the top bowl and plonked them on the lawn for later so I did'nt have to cart the tin of food and the biscuits out.

Well after dinner oh went out to have a ciggy at 9.20pm and it was still light and there on the lawn was a big hog with his nose in the bowl after pushing the plate off the top. We watched and when he had had his fill of that bowl he promtly lifted that up too and started on the second bowl!! Blimmin cheek so he or she had all the chicken and left nothing for the next one along. When he had gone I went and put the bowls in their usual places and filled the water bowl up.
