It's just seems more and more difficult to get on here Gill, which can get a bit tedious! Sometimes posts won't go properly either so in the end you just can't be bothered!
Not a bad day here, bit cloudy, but warm. The swallows are busy with their nest (at last!!) I'll try and get a pic of them Gill for you to show Sandra.
OH is busy potting the Tomatoes in the greenhouse, apart from the leeks and another row of carrots, we're done!! Oh, we've got our first strawberry!!
Tonight there's a prog about the Suffragettes Should be interesting!

Afternoon All
No sun here at all again to day and it is a lot cooler.
Our Roses too are beginning to come out at last and some are so highly scented .A wonderful smell :-D :-D. Mostthat are in flower are behind the trellis at the bottom of the garden so can't be seen from the house, which is a pity. But the others will be out at some point .I can't wait for them. Roses are my favourite flower.Maybe because we had so many in the garden when I was little. I think I have said before but when my Aunty betty lived in Bideford, she had the most stuning Rose Garden at he back of the house.I can still smell those Roses now :-D

There has been a little baby rabbit in the garden today. Where is Thomas when you need him !!! He was too busy sitting in behind the summerhouse with his eye on a mouse that was somewhere underneath. He eventually came out covered in cobwebs but no mouse. He looked like he had those fake cobwebs all over his fur LOL

Mandy are you doing anything tomorrow for your Anniversary? I can't remember now how many years it is.It isn't going to be so hot for your shopping day on Wednesday so shouldn't be too uncomfortable. Wednesday is looking good too for when we get to the Vineyard,so I am happy about that. Not sure about Thursday . We are going to visit a National Trust Garden called Weir Gardens and then on Friday on the way home Chris wants ot go to another N.T place where the Composer Elgar was born. I think it is called the The Firs in Worcester . Chris likes Classical Music so will be interested. Not sure I will be really but I think it has a nice garden so if the weather is fine I can have a mosey around there while he potters around the little house. :-D

Just going to make a warm Potato Salad to go with Southern Fried Chicken Later. I shall have ot warm the potatoes up again nearer the time :-D

Mandy your Roses are very pretty :-D. If I remember I will take some pics of ours tomorrow, but I have a busy day with Drs in hte morning and then getting Thomas to the Cattery in the afternoon and a bit of shopping in between ! Oh Packing a case too!.
42 years married.5 years longer than me. I often wonder how we have managed it LOL .There have been times when I have threatened to walk !!!. (but not really meaning it).It was when Chris was still working and getting so stressed out plus my Mum with her Dementia . Tough times then . But since he retired and I no longer have the worry of Mum life has become much easier and far less stressful. We have our moments of course as every couple do.I just let things go over my head now and refuse to argue :-D

Jane visiting Elgars birthplace is something we've got on our ' to do' list. It's only just over an hour away, so is well within a days march! If it's anything like Dove Cottage or Hillside it should be absolutely fascinating. Gloucester Cathedral is another outing we've got in our sights!! That's why we want to get the garden under control and get out and about this summer!
Physio tomorrow, so we'll have to get our skates on in the morning! After that, Waitrose, would you believe!! (yawn!)
We've got some friends staying for a couple of nights next week, they're putting their motor home in our paddock the other side of the gate from Merlin!! Elgars birthplace as an outing?!!

Jane

Jane Report 4 Jun 2018 19:42

I will let you know what Elgars Birthplace is like Liz :-D That would be an easy drive for you then with your visitors :-D How lucky you have space for them to park up the Motorhome .Are they coming from far away? I have always quite fancied having a motorhome ,but that won't happen.

Good luck tomorrow with the Physio Liz.You will go home with a list of exercises to do.
I must do mine !!!!!

Oh that would be great Jane! No not that far, they're our friends from Wales! They bought this fab motor home with central heating!!! when hubby retired! They go all over the place, in the UK and on the continent! They love it particularly when staying with family and friends as you can be away but can go back to your own home for a bit of peace and privacy if it gets a bit hectic!! Perfect!!!
Hope you have a lovely time away.

I have tried a few times to get on here today without any sucess but at last I am here.

Your roses are beautiful Mandy and not a mark on the leaves. We get terrible black spot down here as the air is so clean. Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and enjoy the bar b q.

I ordered some weathershield for the bungalow today as B&Q have it on a good offer of £20 for a 5 litre tin and we need three. I can't get another pale pink so have gone for Buttermilk Cream. I hope I like it as he says this is the last time he is painting the outside.

Well its been another real scorcher here today. I hav'nt wanted to do anything. I did make two lots of sausage rolls this evening though and we had some for dinner with Rosti no nice and easy.

I had two chickens out of their run today. Once I found one of the pegs out on the bottom of the fence and the next time I had not put the netting back up over the gate. They could still have gone under the wire though. The old girl is still hanging on but both her legs have gone now. Then this afternoon they pecked her on her head so she may not be with us tomorrow.

New Versailles tonight so I have something to watch later on. I am getting fed up with Springwatch. It always seems the same.

Hope you have a nice time away Jane and relax and enjoy it.

Hope you have a lovely day Mandy!
Well the physio was brilliant. He was a very nice and extremely thorough chap, who explained very clearly what my problem is. The sciatica has cleared, but the main concern is that since my hip replacement, and additional back problems, my leg has become quite weak and stiff, and so strengthening exercises have been prescribed, some of which I have to do everyday, together with others which are twice a week! I've got another appointment in 7 weeks time to monitor progress!! I do feel a bit pulled about, but no pain, no gain!!
Tomorrow I have a hair appointment, so who knows a new me on the horizon! Mind you I do need to lose some weight, we both do, so firm measures are being put in place!!
This afternoon were just pickling. Glad your old hen is still with you Mel!
.

Afternoon Everyone

Happy Anniversary Mandy and Colin <3 <3 <3 I hope today has been a lovely day for you.

Liz I am glad you liked your Physio and he has done a good job explaining everything properly for you.Hopefully the excercises aren't too strenuous and will help .

I have had such a whirlwind of a day. I was late getting up. I was awake at 7 and James brought me a tea.Chris was downstairs emptying the dishwasher and having his tea thinking I was in the shower ready to leave the house at 8.10 for the GP appointment .BUT I had fallen asleep and when he realised he couldn't hear me moving about he came up and woke me saying it was almost 8 !! :-0 :-0. I was dead to the world . So it was a real rush just to have a quick wash ,teeth brush and dress and then off by 8.10. Thomas was in ,so I told Chris not to let him out again as i had to get him to the cattery.
My results from the MRI showed a narrowing of a Nerve Canal ,plus the wear and tear on some joints around a couple of discs. But this didn't fit in with the place where I have the pins and needles down the side of my leg and under my foot and toes.It is all a bit beyond me really. But the Dr did say it could be my hip and not my back ,so suggested another hip Xray. He said I could go straight to the hospital as he booked me in electronically. I went home first and got Thomas in the cat box and took him off to the Cattery ,and then Chris took me to the hospital for the Xray. Luckily I was in and out in a very short time as there was only one person in front of me . (thats a first).

So this afternoon I have been sorting and packing what to take tomorrow. I feel totally exhausted now and have a banging headache :-S
At least I am not cooking much tonight . The men have ready meals and I will have a couple of eggs and baked beans.
I will do my nails tonight and wash my hair in the morning.

I saw a very poorly rabbit with Myxomatosis on the verge across the road today. It was still in the same place when I came back from the cattery :-(. I am hoping it has died as it is such a horrible thing to see.

The washing machine has just finished so I need to get all the bathand loo mats out on the line.

<3 <3 <3 Happy Anniversary Mandy and Colin <3 <3 <3 Did you have a nice day? Love the photo's of the roses, of course Sandra's favourite is the pink one LOL.

Glad to see your physio went well Liz, a few exercises to do by the looks of it, but it'll all be worth it in the end.

So your old girl is still with you Mel, that's good.

It sounds like you've had a right old day of it Jane. Good job Chris woke you up and you made it out on time.

I wish I could of had a lie in Jane but it was so hot I've been up since 5.30 this morning. At 7am, I was outside trying to cool down I heard such a noise down the road so went to investigate only to see that our neighbour was having his drive done. He said he was having it done sometime this week and he's letting us have some flag stones once his son has taken what he needs. Anyway I noticed there was a digger there so I politely asked if it would be possible for them to take out the hedge and a few hours later they came round and took it out, it only took them about 5 minutes and we were only charged £50 so now we have an open gap in the front garden ready for us to put the new fence in.

Of course VICTOR MELDREW next door said "Another hedge you've ruined", he's such a grumpy old man. I wouldn't mind but it's our hedge to do with what ever we want, so I just ignored him. I wouldn't mind but the lovely climbing rose that had finally flowered in the front, he had his friend cut it down so there's hardly anything left and no flowers anymore and I never said a word, even though I was disappointed to see it go. I'm not sure who the rose belongs to as it right on the boundary between us.

OH and Sandra starting taking the rubbish to the tip while I tidied up the front garden and cut back a few shrubs. Next door (the 99 year old lady's daughter) let us park our car down her mum's drive as OH and Sandra were shattered and there was no way they could take the whole hedge to the tip today, so the rest will go tomorrow.

We've all had baths and then went to the chippy as I was far to tired and hot to cook. I think I'll be having any early night tonight, I can hardly keep my eyes open, it's been such a long day.

Going to sign out now, have a nice time away Jane <3

But Mel, you've got OH, and a lovely day in a lovely area!
Beautiful day here, and my hair's been washed and cut. The new young lady who did it has excelled herself so I'm well chuffed!
This afternoon we're dead heading (lupins) and mowing the top end of the paddock among other things. Tomorrow our friends will be arriving, for a couple(?) of nights which we're really looking forward to.

Gillx Report 6 Jun 2018 18:05

Evening all

Hot and sunny here so we've been sorting out the holes ready for the fence posts, we managed three between us as the ground is like concrete and it doesn't help when we came across bricks and roots, it's hard going but hopefully we'll have them done tomorrow in time for the fence and posts arriving in the afternoon. Whether we'll start the fencing tomorrow or not remains to be seen as the delivery time is between 1pm and 5pm, so we may do it the day after if there's no rain.

You got the rest of us here Mel I know I've been busy today but I was on the other day. I might not be on much over the next few days though with having to do the fencing, OH and I don't want to leave it open for to long or we might end up with kids and animals all over the garden, but once it's finished I'll be back on here during the day.

So you've had your hair done Liz? It does feel good when you have your hair nice doesn't it? I coloured mine the other day and it looks and feels much better as I gave it a deep conditioner treatment too.

Going to get something to eat now then watch a bit of TV before a well earned early night. Both OH and I have been up since 5.30am with it being so hot and then we were working outside from 7am, so we're both really tired now.
