Good afternoon to you all.
I am late today, due to all the little jobs I have been doing.
Ros had another good night, unlike me, waking whenever she got out to the loo, checking that she was alright and got back into bed safely
As Ros is unable to shower, she takes the bowl into the bathroom and stripe washes. This morning she knocked over the bowl of water, and used the towels to soak up the water, the mts were soaked as well. They have all been in the Washing machine, and now in the tumble dryer.
Veg all done for dinner this evening. Washing up done and dried up and put away. I have had my shower and shaved, and feel much better for it.
Thanks for your kind words for Ros, I have passed them on, and she says "THANKS" Pam has been round to see if there is anything we need, or she can help with. Whereas Tony and Val, haven't even asked how she is.
I loved the pics of the ducks and Orchids. and it seems you are all BIRDED OUT. We have had blackbirds, but I haven't noticed any others, mind you we have been away. A magpie dived into a big bush in Tony's garden yesterday, after the baby sparrows. You should have heard the commotion. lol lol He was soon off with a flea in his ear.
Simon and Sally called over yesterday afternoon and bought Ros Roses and a get well card. He has been on the phone this morning checking we are both O.K. Conrad and Jan phoned this morning to wish me Happy Father's day, and have a chat to Ros. Harvey has been on the phone to say he will be up shortly.
You do seem to be having a lot of hassle with your "VICTOR" Gill. My advise would be to completely ignore him at all times.
The neighbour across the road, was sent home from Oxford Hospital, we thought for him to die at home, but before 9.00 am this morning an Ambulance was here to take him back. Followed by his partner in her car. He has a terrible heart condition and is not expected to live much longer.
We had a good shower during the night which has freshened things up in the garden. So I won't need to water tonight.
My hip, arm and shoulder are a bit sore this morning after my fall, and the bush and flower bed doesn't look to good either. lol lol.
I am going to get some morning done now, So enjoy your day, and I will see you later.

Afternoon All Well I even later on duty than you Frank. I am glad that Ros had a good night other than a few trips to the loo. Shame about the bowl of water going over but it will get easier for her each day. When will she be able to have a proper shower? It is disgusting that your next door can't even be bothered to ask how Ros is .Shame on them :-| :-|
Crumbs Gill that nice behaviour from Victor Meldrew didn't last long then :-S. He sounds a right old nasty bit of work.Especially after saying it was ok to leave stuff on his side before taking it off to the tip. I believe you too when you say you did no damage .What a nasty man :-S :-S
Hannah and Gareth have just gone . I am so behind with everything now .I need to start packing. Hannah did a smashing Chicken Pie for lunch so no cooking for me tonight. I got Thomas to the Cattery by 9 this morning!!!!. I was so worried he wouldn't be in in time as 10am is the cut off point on a Sunday for dropping off cats.Chris and I took it in turns sitting on the patio from 7am calling and whistling LOL . He waltzed up the garden at about 8.15 so I just grabbed him quick and popped him in the cat basket and off we went. He wasn't at all impressed .I explained to the lady that he had been out since 3.30 am and was probably covered in sticky burrs but that I hadn't had time ot give him a good brush . So she was going to do that. My big fridge is alost empty now as I have sent H&G home with everything that will go off while we are away. I have never seen this fridge so empty !!!
I need to get sorting now so will be back later

I wrote a post and posted it but its not on here!
Its raining here that fine stuff.
Gill Mr Meldrew ougth to take a look at the state of his front fence before he critisizes what you have done for him or has he had a new fence? Perhaps he forgets what he said. I know the grass can take a beating when you have been putting things on it and walking all over it but he will soon see that it will pick up again within a week.
I am now going to have a little go at some craft.

Frank did you ask if Ros can do some knitting?? It would keep her occupied.
I can't understand why she has to take a bowl of water in the bathroom to wash in??

Evening all,
What black clouds we have had here today but no rain so far .
Thanks for the photo of the Bee Orchids Liz ,will the spray round them last until next year so you know where to find them again ? That's a good lot of logs you have ready for the winter ,you won't go cold with that lot .
What a right old misery your neighbour is Gill ,i thought it was to good to be true when you said he had offered to pay half ,the old devil had no intention of paying did he ,he just wanted his garden done for free , you should still send him the bill for half just to see what he says .
That's good Ros had another good night ,i hope she is filling her day as she's usually busy doing this that and the other . Mel i wondered why Ros had the bowl but then i thought i bet she stands in the shower to wash to make it easier .
Glad you managed to get Thomas to the cattery ok Jane ,have a lovely time away and i hope the weather is good for you .

Thanks everyone for your kind words. We're going to leave the garden for a few days just to make him wonder what's going on. I don't really like the idea of OH doing anything to heavy for the next few days anyway as he has to have a blood pressure monitor on tomorrow until Tuesday evening and not only that he's done so much lately he could do with a few days off.
I made a joke with OH before and said we should buy a length of edging you can buy for borders that looks like a picket fence but is only about SIX INCHES high and put that along the boundary line, then when Mr Grumpy mentions it we'll say "That's the fence, we didn't say how tall it was going to be". Then watch the look on his face. OH found that really funny and we've been laughing about it ever since.
I've had trouble with my Internet again so have only just been able to get back on here, I think we might have something wrong with the telephone extension lead the router is attached to, so we'll have to buy a new one to replace it. When I do manage to get online it's much quicker than it has been, so taking the 50 foot tree out seems to have helped in that way, but it's hit and miss on whether the Internet comes on or not at the moment. I hope it's nothing to do with the outside phone line, although I'm sure nothing hit it when we took the tree down.
I haven't read the posts properly just a few from this page. Hope you have a nice time away Jane. No you can't afford to forget the important things like earrings and nail varnish LOL :-D :-D ;-) ;-)
Pleased to see Ros had a good nights sleep, sorry you didn't though Frank. It's understandable that you are keeping one eye open so to speak during the night to make sure Ros is okay. I'm sure over time you'll relax more and sleep better. Sorry to hear you've had a fall and you're still sore, hopefully you'll feel better soon.
Love the pictures you've taken and sent. Sandra thinks the ducks are so cute. That's a lot of logs you have there Liz, someone's been busy. Now you're all set up ready for the winter.
Well, I'd better go incase I lose my connection again. Hopefully I'll be back on here again tomorrow.

Good morning to you all,
I have been since 5.00 am. Mind you I was in bed by 9.30 pm last night.
Harvey and Julia were here till 4.30 pm so I then got the meat in the oven, We ate about 6.30. Ros ate exceptionally well, where as I only picked at mine. No appetite.
I didn't know about this holiday Jane, where are you going and for how long. ?? I of hope you have a nice time and you and Chris can relax and enjoy where ever you are going. I expect it's Foreign Climes. FRANCE is a favourite of yours, isn't it ??
Julia said yesterday, that we should park our car on their drive when we go to see Conrad. They would make sure that one of them would be available to take us to the Airport, and it's only 15 minutes away, and they know the back roads. Likewise when we return, they would pick us up. Nor only would it save money, but more important, save TIME.
I have the basket of ironing sitting in the armchair. I will get the ironing board up and hopefully have it done before "sleeping beauty" wakes up. I am very pleased with her recovery, BUT she mustn't push herself to fast, as the stitching can easerly come adrift. I know she is getting restless sitting around. Plus her Bum is getting numb. I have tried getting her to sit none of those "RINGS" or a soft pillow, but they don't seem to be comfortable.
What a cold, miserable afternoon is was yesterday, we had the heating on for a couple of hours. This morning looks very overcast, so don't know what to expect.
Another COT then I will start on the ironing. See you later. xxxx

Early bird here too. Oh Jane, The Peak District! I do envy you, it's absolutely beautiful there and is on our list for another visit! Enjoy!!! We've got Austria at the end of September, I wonder if you'll be in France at the same time?!! Thank you for your email Frank, I sent you another pic of our now divided paddock as I was sure you would admire the craftsmanship!!!!! Mandy, OH will be spraying the paddock in a couple of weeks hence the blue squares! That's the idea anyway! Merlin can use either side accordingly! Hygienist and Oncologist for us today, then OH has the Optician on Wednesday, it's all go!! Glad your patient is doing well Frank. Go easy with that ironing!! That's one job I've been very glad to say goodbye to!! Best get on as Cas is woofing at me!!!!

Thanks for letting me know Jane, I automatically thought of France. I forgot you were going there later in the year. Lets hope the weather stays fine for you, so you can get out and about. I have only been to CHATSWORTH HOUSE. Is that classed as the peaks ??
Lis, The only ironing that will be done, is my shirts and Ros's shorts. The rest will just be folded up and put away. I have already folded the tea towels, hankies. I haven't started the ioning yet as Ros was up early, as the phone woke her at 8.00 am.
I did get dinner ready for tonight though, so I wasn't sitting around idle. Ros has decided she will shower this morning. The stockings that the hospital put on her, were hurting during the night so she took them off , so it's a good opportunity to get a shower rather than a wash down. !!! I don't think the stockings will be going back on again.
The photo of the paddock looks great. It's quite a size as well, so Merlin must have plenty of space to exercise. I hope all goes well with your check ups today.
Tomorrow Carolyn is taking me to get an X ray. That's another job out of the way. We will call in Tesco on the way back so I can get the stuff we need.
Tony took me broken plate to the dental technician this morning. They said they weren't sure they can be repaired. So I could be looking at a new set of dentures. MORE EXPENSE !!!
Onwards and upwards, things to do. See you later.

Afternoon all,
You are a lot of early birds tis morning all out and about and doing the daily chores. I had a lie in this morning so I have only fed the chickens and put washing on the line.
We've had the little stag in the orchard this morning and then he went up the border and ate some of the day lillies and disappeared into the top garden.
We've had two squirrels on the bird feeder over the weekend trying to get at the peanuts but they are in a metal holder.
I did cut out some felt last night but decided they were too big to go on a pincusion unless I made a hgue one and I don't want to do that so they shall have to be something else.

Back from the Hygienist, and have been awarded a metaphoric gold star for my super clean teeth!! so that's that out of the way till October! Oh that's good with the ironing Frank! Sorry, I didn't mean to be bossy and I know your domestic arrangements are up to you two, but it can be a bit of a chore especially if you're like me - a bit wobbly!! I had to wear those stockings too after my hip op! They were extremely uncomfortable! I also had to inject myself in the stomach everyday for six weeks!! to prevent blood clotting! That was quite a challenge at first, but I got very used to it after a while. I also had to wait three weeks for a shower to make sure the wound had healed!! I have expect Colin had the same performance Mandy!! Just walked Cas and fed her, and are about to leave for the hospital! Never a dull moment!!

Thats good the dentist is out of the way Liz till October. Mine is then too.
Its has been raining very finely in the air but the ground is still rock hard but looking a little more like it may have sone some good as the earth looks darker. Its still very warm out there though.
I am just going to wash up the lunch things as I left them for a while and then I am going to do some tieing up in the garden and cover my strawberry plants as the blackbird has had a go at the few I have left.

Back again from the hospital and although OH's blood test is still below the danger levels, we have opted to go for radiotherapy sooner rather than later as we don't want to suddenly have to have it in the winter because of the travelling even though it's only 40 mins away! So, after an MRI, OH will be starting treatment at the beginning of July for 7 1/2 weeks Monday-Friday. Bit of a commitment but better than the alternative!! At least it'll be done and dusted before we go away! OH has just talked to M and he thinks we're doing the right thing so that's OK!! Hope your Xray is ok Frank <3

Afternoon all
You've had quite a day today Liz. I think it's a good idea for your OH to have the radiotherapy done now rather than later and like you said it'll all be done in time for you going away. Good news for you at the dentist to.
How are you getting on in your garden Mel? Hope the weather is kind to you.
Poor Ros trying to get comfy Frank, has she tried laying down on the sofa, would that help? Is all your ironing done now? That's one thing my OH doesn't do.
OH has just left to go and get his blood pressure monitor fitted, he has to wear it for 24 hours so he'll be going back again tomorrow.
He tried to dig out the final plant in our front garden ready for the fence to go in but it looked hard work so I said to stop and run him a bath. It can wait for now, there's no rush.
Mr Grumpy was actually in a good mood this morning. It seems to be swings and roundabouts with his moods lately, we just don't know where we stand. We're hoping to measure for the fence panels and posts tomorrow so we can get a quote, I said to Mr Grumpy that we need his half of the money to buy the materials as we didn't have enough to pay for it in full. We can afford it but think he might not give us the half he promised if the job is done, this way we'll have his half before we start the job.
He had the cheek to say could we fill in a gap that was between us and him on his side on the front, I said yes to keep him quiet but it depends on whether we feel like doing it once the other fencing is finished. It's only 14 inches wide which I'm sure he can manage on his own, he can be so lazy if you let him and it is after all his fence not ours. If he had been a better neighbour over the years then we would of done it, but after the way he spoke to OH the other day I don't think he deserves any favours off us, especially when we haven't stopped for weeks and it's been really hard work in very hot weather.
I think he might of been in a good mood today as we hadn't done anything for two days, so he must of wondered if his outburst had annoyed us and we had decided not to bother doing the fence after all, which is what we wanted him to think so he'd appreciate everything we're doing in future. I'm quite annoyed with him at the moment, so I'm keeping out of his way until I've calmed down a bit, otherwise it'll end up with us rowing and that won't be good for OH's blood pressure.
Washing machine's just finished so I'd better go and see to it. I've changed the bedding and have all the clothes to wash from when we all had baths before.

I have cleaned the bathroom and made the yorkshire for the toad tonight.
Just been out in the garden and saw some kind of brown bird carrying off a you crow with two crows hot on its tail. Not susre if it was the buzzard or not but being black and brown I wondered what it was at first then saw the two crows hicking up a stink so realized. Nature can be very cruel sometimes can't it?
