Morning Liz and all,
Beautiful day this morning once again and just right for hot air ballooning.
I clicked on something on the pc this morning and lost all connection with the internet and had to wait for oh to come in and fix it for me. At least he has me back online now as I kept getting Try Again Later window come up. Silly hands click on things when I don't want them to.
Liz we have seen a hare over the back field years ago but with the shoot over there now we thought they had made an exit so we were pleased to see the one yesterday actually in the garden.
All your curtains are nice and clean now Liz. A good job over and done.
I am battling with those leggy spiders lately. I hoovered them all up the day before yesterday and this morning they are all back in the same places. Where do they all come from?

.. Good morning all, and WELCOME home Jane.
What cracking day we have here.
Sorry about the freezer Jane, and such a waste of food and MONEY. Not knowing how long it has been off makes it the only SAFE way to dump the lot. When we had the shop one of our chest freezers packed up on us. Dull of meats and veg. The council H & S came and listed everything in it, and came with me to see that I dumped it. Was such a shame, I could have given to the customers.
We are uninvited with those spiders Mel, They seem to be in the porch cupboard where we keep our coats, Ironing board eye. Ros is always sucking them up the hoover. But are back within days. I have sprayed fly killer in there but doesn't seem to work.
I have been up since SEVEN this morning, but don't know where the morning has gone. I have done all the veg, made the pudding and cheese sauce, wiped out the bottom of the fridge and draws. Lamb has been minted, and sits ready to go on later this afternoon.
Ros is sitting at the patio table planting her little baskets that hang on the fence down the drive. Martine treated her to the plants in Morrison's, which was very kind of her.She has lined them in plastic, as the moss liners get robbed by the birds. Pam says she stands and watches them pinching the moss, and has a little giggle.
Not good news for Larry's daughter Jane, I hope all goes well for her, and a pity about the dog having to be put down. Will they get another ?? or be like me, and baby sit other peoples. lol lol.
Liz all your Spring cleaning is done and dusted now then. Pun not intended. I bet you love being where you are now living. After all those times you had with your horrible neighbours. Peace and quiet is just the ticket.
I had every intention of walking to the pub for the football and the lads company. But I feel absolutely drained, and out of salts. So will watch it at home. Plus with Ros not driving I would have to walk home as well.
I bet the children will be at Mandy's now having a dip in the pool. Wish I was closer I would join them. lol lol.
I see that Wandsworth Road in London had over 120 crimes last year, from these scooter riders pinching phones, bags, computers, even going into cafe's and taking them from the tables. And the police only arrested ONE PERSON. I'm so glad I live where I do, out in the sticks away from any trouble. Even Northampton isn't safe anymore with stabbing happening on a regular basis. WHAT has happened to our COUNTRY.
Stay safe everyone, and enjoy this lovely weather, which they say will get to over 30 degrees by Thursday.

Midsummers Day today everyone and Di's birthday.
Frank I think there has been more crime on our streets since they cut down on the police force and took the coppers off the streets. You never see a policeman walking round the streets now like you used to when we were young. What about "If you want to know the time ask a policeman!"

Afternoon All Well what weather!!. Sunny Sunday :-D All my washing is dry ,even the towels. Chris has just left to go to the tip with all that freezer food. Frank, I think now that the door must have been left open :-S :-S,as the freezer is working fine. Now I am not blaming anyone but I am sure I wasn't the last person to use the freezer :-D I did a shop this morning after I picked Thomas up and just got a few things to go in the freezer.I want to wait at least another day just to make sure it is working fine before restocking properly.
Janice still has 2 dogs Frank. Oscar a Spanish Waterdog who is getting on a bit now and is a Picnic short of a Sandwich LOL and little Gilly. So no they won't be getting another dog.I say that but you never know with my Sister :-D
Mel I haven't seen a Hare for ages. Years in fact. When I used to take Chester down the lane I did see the odd one on occasions. Liz I love seeing the Hot air Balloons. It's not the Bristol Festival is it? We get the occasional one going over here but haven't seen one in a while now.
Chris just rang to say he is in a queue at the tip !. He thought it would be quiet because of the football ,but everyone else must have thought the same LOL
James and Jess are on the way home from Durham now and should be here in an hour or so. It is young Williams Birthday today. He is 6 !!. I think there is a party at the village Hall with Bouncy Castle etc this afternoon . Bar for the adults too. Fun all round me thinks :-D Any news on Sally today Frank?

Ah Jane! I've had the door left on the jar with the fridge freezer in the kitchen!! Fortunately not when we were away, but all night which is bad enough, but not by me!! What with that and the switch on the big freezer, a certain person can be unpopular!, :-( We've just had a snack sitting outside as it is very peaceful and hot here. Yes Frank it's still a relief to be away from those neighbours!!! OH has been to Waitrose this morning for a few provisions, ice cream and wine!! He said it was quite busy, glad I didn't go!! Cas has got her bath out and is treating it like a plunge pool!! She looks so funny lying back in the water like lady muck!! Don't talk about drawers Frank particularly kitchen ones! They are the next thing on my spring cleaning list!! I ought to mow the little lawn this afternoon! It's quite brown now so not sure that I'll bother. That's one bonus with hot weather, brown grass doesn't need mowing!!

I have two Balckbirds sunbathing under the box hedge. They have their wings all spread out. Thats the bit of grass that is brown in our garden where there used to be a gravel path down the side of the hedge.
Don't talk to me about kitchen drawers! I hav'nt had mine out for years but I know exactly where everything is I may need. Once I clear them out I can't find a thing... :-S

I know what you mean Mel! but my drawers seem to get so full of grunge and general grot, that eventually I have to do them, together with the wall cabinets!!! :-( The curtains are now hung back up and I've mown the little lawn! We're having Tuna, new potatoes and salad for supper! OH was supposed to have got the lamb we were having, out of the freezer!! Well he forgot, so we will now be having that tomorrow!! :-\ Tomorrow OH is getting the log burner out and down to the barn to give it a super clean! Also he wants to change a bit of the chimney for a stainless piece. He's been meaning to do it for ages, and tomorrow is the day!! Still haven't tied up those Tomatoes! Must do it tomorrow!!

It has done well Jane. Oh cut mine right back last year as it was looking rather sad so it has'nt any flowers on it this year.
I still say it was last years wet weather as everything seems to be doing a bundle this year.

I used to watch out for the early satellites, as a youngster..
these days.......
Sadly the ISS is out of visible range at the mo....quite spectacular when it DOES make an appearance!!
In the UK it always appears on the west horizon(-ish) and crosses the sky to the East...

Good morning Bob and all my lovely people.
You beat me too it Mel, I replied to Jane's email about the "SMOKE TREE" Wouls like to get another. They grow wild on the banks of the River Avon at Stratford.
What a blinder of a morning again. Liz, I was very tempted to mow my lawns yesterday , but as the lawn treatment is being done Wednesday I thought I had better leave it. But I think I will put he SPRINKLER on this evening, as it's so dry.
Many years ago I found a hare on the side of the road with a broken leg. I put it out of it's misery and took it home. A chef friend cooked a JUGED HARE for us, which I might add, I don't think I would like to try again.
I see England had a good win yesterday 6--1. Not the best game of football i have seen. Plus England haven't played any of the better teams yet, so we will see how they perform then. ;-) ;-)
I spoke with Simon last night. Sally is still in hospital under observation. Subject to her checking out from tests this morning, she can come home later today.
Both Conrad and Harvey phoned last night to see how Ros is getting on. She says "how hounered she is, to have both ring the same day" lol lol. She was on her stool most of yesterday, weeding the beds, and gravel.
I sill don't seem to have an appetite , I cooked a lovely lamb joint, with new port and veg. and hardly ate half on my plate, which wasn't that much either.
I am forever shutting th fridge door !!! someone goes o get something out and just pushes it too, the magnets don't have a chance to connect as it's not shut enough. The next thing you hear is the alarm. :-| :-| :-|
What are you all up to today, if like me NOTHING PRESSING, so not a lot. Tomorrow is my eye appointment at the hospital 11.45 am. Tony is taking me. I have given him a fiver for petrol.. That way I don't mind asking him to take us anywhere if we need him too.
Be good, and stay safe. xxx

Beautiful morning here again so we were up at 7!! OH is watering the veg and flower border. We never water the grass Frank! tbh it goes a bit against the grain which I think is a hangover from when there have been water shortages, also when it's dry it doesn't grow, so one less job!! ;-) We used to have jugged hare quite a lot at home years ago as my S_father was sometimes given a hare by his farmer customers. It is gamey and an acquired taste!! but we loved it together with redcurrant jelly. I haven't had it for years though! We had a mother pheasant and her two chicks pecking away outside our bedroom window first thing this morning! They've now gone up into Merlins paddock and are scratching away in the hedge!! OH is getting the woodburner out and down to the barn today prior to a grand clean!! but first, a cuppa coffee!

Yes I do agree Liz, but when you spend money every month to make the lawn look nice, it's bice to see it GREEN rather than BROWN.
I sat and watched two Blackbirds laying on the shed roof yesterday (SUN BATHING) flt out with wings open. Then blow me THREE sparrows came and did the same. I had to smile, and of course no camera to hand.
Simon just rang, to say he is on his way to collect Sally, so everything seems to be O.K.
Feel very shaky this morning, so I am going to st in my lounger with my book and relax. I hope an hour out there, might make me feel more like myself. I have the roof to do with that "WET and LEAVE" but it will mean going up the steps, which isn\t a good idea at the moment.
Being i the muddle of the village we don't see much if any wild life. It's such a shame as I love to see Pheasants and chicks in the wild.

Well, the woodburner has been taken out and is now in the barn awaiting a new 'baffle' and a good clean. It is a very hot day here, so apart from that job and getting a large round bale of hay down for Merlin, we haven't done that much today. We have one sweet pea!! Did you watch Poldark last night Mel? It was up to its usual standard and we can't wait till next week! except that as we saw the original years ago, I can sort of remember what happens next!! Poor Morwenna, and that odious clergyman!! goes from bad to worse!! :-( Not 'that' keen on Outlander any more. We loved the first series but tbh we're now finding it a bit boring so will be giving it a miss from now on! I think expect we'll have supper outside tonight, meanwhile, time for a cuppa, sun for me, shade for OH!!

Evening All Oh goodness what a hot day it has been and still is ,although there is a slight breeze now which is quite pleasant.I have just taken Jess to the station as James is still at work. Her suitcase was so heavy it felt like she had a body in it !!!.She has also got a back pack and another bag.It isn't going to be a comfortable journey back to Kent for her tonight. She has to change trains as well.
I am glad Sally is ok Frank and on her way home now.Did they find out what the problem was? It sounds to me as though you aren't eating enough . Do you think this is why you might be feeling shaky?
Liz that must been quite a job today in this heat for Ian to take out the Woodburner! Chris cut the lawn earlier and I did a bit of ironing and that was it work wise today.I only ironed a few shirts and then gave up as it was so hot.I will get the rest done in hte morning . Easy dinner tonight. I cooked Chicken in a Honey,Mustard and Tarragon sauce. Jess had hers with microwave rice and micro veg. We will be having the same .But neither of us are feeling that hungry yet so might wait until James is home . Saying that he hasn't messaged me yet so must still be at the office. Flipping football on AGAIN :-S. I haven't watched any of it .Not even the England match the other night. I do watch the highlights though sometimes. Wouldn't it be brilliant if England get through to the final this time :-D
The Blackbird is kicking off outside ,so that means Thomas is about :-D.... just had a look out the window and yes he is on the patio.

W had a nice Prawn salad tonight. I have done all the watering, snd now watching the football in the conservatory, which is difficult with the sun beaming through the windows. Madam is watching her soaps.
I bet Ian was a bit warm working on th log burner, but at least thats a job out of the way.
We have decided that we will get help in the garden. Two hours every other week should be ample. It's just getting to much for both of us. Ros, has been weeding all day today, and is absolutely wacked out. She says she alright as she is siting on her stool. When Barry comes this week to dig out a bed full of Grass's, I will ask him if he can fit us in.
Early night for me tonight, I just don't feel great.

Good Evening Everybody
It's been so hot again today, we have several fans on, 2 in the sitting room and kitchen plus both our bedrooms.
Because of the heat haven't done very much today, watered the garden, front and back early in the morning, ran the vacuum round, fed the cats, Ruby and the fish. Had the usual Monday morning chat with my eldest SIL this takes up a good hour we have done this for years..
That is a beautiful smoke tree Jane. I see Thomas is back to his stalking tricks again I expect he missed his freedom when you were away. Thank you for forwarding Frank's email " a cure for grumpiness" very cute but touching photos
It's a good idea to get help in the garden Frank if it wasn't for Richard helping me I would do the same. Good news that Sally is going back home and what a relief for Simon, hope you have a good night's sleep and feel better in the morning

Evening all,
Phew it's been so hot no dipping in the pool though as we've been out to Lacey's birthday party , i thought it was William's birthday a round this time Jane as he's the same age as Lacey . She loved her new scouter, she did nip her finger though when she put the stand down on it but it didn't put her off having another go .
That sounds a good idea getting help in the garden Frank ,Ros will still be able to potter doing a little when she's able too but having some one in to do the heavier work will be a good help .
Jane that bush in your garden looks really pretty when i saw the title i thought you'd had a fire in the garden LOL How's the freezer doing ? still working ok .

Yes, moving the log burner was a bit of a job Jane, but we've got a fork lift and that made it and easier. It's now in the barn and has now got to be cleaned, the baffle repaired (welding job!) a section of the stainless chimney replaced before we can reinstate it. It'll be a day or two before that happens!! Our Grandson had a Scooter from us for his last birthday Mandy. My goodness, it danced, sang and more besides!! Very different from the one I had!! Thanks for forwarding the email from Frank!
