Jane Report 19 Aug 2018 12:44

Afternoon Everyone
What a dark and very muggy day it is here. I have just put the fan on .
I'm back from Currys after going to sort out a new freezer(the voucher came through ealry this morning, BUT there are 100 people waiting for this particular one and only 54 coming into stock next week so I can see us still having to wait now until we come back off holiday %3A-S What a do ! I wasn't prepared to fork out another couple of hundred quid for a different one so I shall just have to be patient. %3A-D. We have been without for weeks now so another couple or so wont make much difference.

You had a good meal out last night then Frank. I wonder why Ros felt sick after. Maybe she ate too much %3B-%29. At least it came to nothing and she is fine now to go out for lunch with C&J

Mel haring around trying to get flowers for the church probably didnt help your poor hip yesterday. I have stopped using heat on my hip, /back/heel and knee(sound a wreck don't I ) and am using the cold treatments. Last night was a hellish night. First it was too hot and then I woke with awful pain in my foot and knee. That is the second night with this foot pain. Its almost like cramp . So I was up rubbing gel on and swallowing pills at some unearthly hour.I found a small cushion and put that between my knees and I think that helped a bit. So I feel a bit pooped now.

It was very quiet out and about around town earlier. Maybe everyone was having a long lie in %3A-D. I am not going to be doing anything today. They say Sunday is the day of rest so that is what I shall do %3A-D %3A-D. Until dinner tonight. Steaks for the 3 of us. Rib Eyes for Chris and me and a Sirloin for James. He should be back late this afternoon providing the trains are running properly. I think with Euston Station being shut all weekend it might be causing trouble at other stations .Lets hope St Pancras is not one.

I have been sewing and just saw your post Ann.

Raining here that fine stuff that blows in the breeze like net curtains.

Morning all

Cloudy but dry here today.

Thanks Ann for letting me know, I've replied now.

I haven't had the Internet or a phone for a couple of days......what a pain that was. I think BT were playing around with the phone lines outside, unless they just like climbing up the pole LOL.

I haven't read any post yet, so hope everyone is okay. I'll catch up with them later as I have a phone call to make that I should of done two weeks ago and forgot about.

Morning all,

Dry here this morning but cloudy with it so I am not sure what the rest o f the day is going to be like.

I have to do some HW today as I have been rather lax lately and only done dusting and ironing so the bathrooms need doing and some hoovering.

Oh is out cleaning his filters out so I have a little time to myself.

Gillx Report 20 Aug 2018 10:20

Hi I'm back, phone call done so that's something else out of the way, OH and I are hoping to finish the planters today, we think one more coat of paint should do it then we going to try and move the wheels at the back as the planter tilts slightly backwards, we think if we move the wheels back a bit that'll help it balance. With having the trellis at the back it's heavier there, but hopefully it'll be sorted today, if not then we'll carry on putting some wedges underneath to stop it tilting, plus it acts as a break and stops the planters moving around on the wheels.

Pleased to hear your OH's treatment is going well Liz, how much longer does he have to go? Did you say you go on holiday straight after his treatment?

It sounds like that woman is having a lot of problems with Denis Frank, if he doesn't give her the key back she should change the locks, we had to change our locks as they were broken and it only cost £10 a lock so it's cheap enough to do and will give her peace of mind, although he really should give the key back as he doesn't really have the right to keep it. The problem with that is he could quite easily have another key cut before returning the original, so changing the locks would be a better and safer idea. Just noticed he has given the key back now, but like I said he may of had another one cut for himself, you never know do you?
Nice to hear the collar is doing the trick for you and you're in less pain now. Sorry to hear about Ros, I wonder if she had the same bug I had, mine only lasted a day, I felt sick but wasn't actually sick....not a nice feeling at all. Pleased she's okay now.

So you have to wait for your new freezer Jane, hope it's not to long for you to wait. Hope you are feeling a bit better today and not in as much pain...better still the pain has gone altogether. I hope it doesn't spoil your holiday.

It sounds like you've had some running around to do with the flowers and other things Mel, no wonder your hip was playing you up, hope it's feeling a little better today. Don't over do things with the HW I'm sure that can wait another day or two.

OH's just watering the pots in the back garden, he's done the front, then we're going to carry on with the planters as we want them finished today. My mum's neighbour is selling a shed so we're buying it off her, the only problem is the only place we have to put it is where a climbing plant is going up the screening, it's quite big and will need taking out, I'm hoping to put it in my planters but it's going to take a bit of digging to get it out. The shed is just a bit to big to put down the bottom of the garden which is why it's going behind the kitchen. It has electric in it so we have to wait until the electrician has disconnected it before we can have it. Mum's neighbour said it'll be sometime this week so we'd better get our skates on and clear the area ready. Like my mum said, we never seem to stop with all our jobs. I think she might be right %3B-%29

No spiders in the bedroom hall or bathroom now. Hoovered the bedroom, half the hall, his study.

Raining here now, we did have a show of the sun but then it went in again.

Just having a COC and a sit down. Legs a lot better today but I still know its there! the pain not my leg.

Frank Report 20 Aug 2018 13:10

Afternoon you lovely people, xxx I am late on parade today. I was up around 7.30. Ross already up, as she wanted a Drs appointment, and you have to start ringing from 8.00 am. Blow me if she hasn't got ANOTHER WATER INFECTION. The doctor she saw at 10.20 this morning is concerned it could be something more serious, beginning with that horrible LETTER "C" in the bladder. He has prescribed more antibiotics but want's to see her again next week. What this will entail I have no Idea. It could mean us not going away on the 16h Sept. I will of course keep you informed.

More bad news this morning. Our friends Roger and Sue had been informed hat Sue's Cancer in back, and she has to go through another operation on her KIDNEY and then I expect more chemo. Also another very nice woman in the village has been diagnosed with a BRAIN TUMOR and stage four Cancer. I do not know anything about STAGES of his terrible decease . Can anyone explain ???

All I seem to have this morning is doom and gloom. (SORRY)

I did manage to cut th front lawn this morning, and give it a good watering. I did try putting the sprinkler on, but it went all over the lounge windows. So that was a NO NO. I also put up the new spice rack and her Board, that she pins the scripts to. and any other bits she needs reminding about. Oh and I put more screws into the back of the cutlery draw, as that was starting to come loose. So all in all I have been a busy boy.

Just considering about doing the back lawn, as it has grown such a lot in he last few days, and it's Green bin day, tomorrow.

Ros for no reason has gone out to Tesco with Carolyn, we don't need anything so I don't know why she went. %3A-S %3A-S %3A-S

Turning very cloudy here, so I don't think the lawn will get cut. But I can at least try to get some done, before the rain.

Not a bad morning here, windy, cloudy with intermittent sun! OH is doing fine Gill! He feels a bit weary at the end of the day, but is planning a couple of jobs that need doing for this afternoon, so, so far so good! He finishes 3 weeks tomorrow and we go away, only for a week, the end of September. He is very fit for his age (78!) and that seems to be keeping him in good stead!
Oh dear Frank, I can certainly understand your concern. All I know is that L's partners mother had bladder cancer some years ago and was treated, not sure whether it was radiotherapy and chemotherapy, or radiotherapy on its own and as far as I know she is absolutely fine now. But hey, we're running ahead a bit here and the problem could well just be a recurring infection or a benign condition that is easily treated. Try not to worry to much, easier said than done I know. I expect Ros wants to have a chat with a good friend who is a third party so to speak, we all do sometimes!!
Cancer is evaluated in stages 1-4 (I think!) Frank depending on how aggressive the particular cancer is or how aggressive it has become. This is to help oncologists to guage which treatment, is appropriate, how long for treatment, remission, life expectancy, that sort of thing! Obviously the sooner its got on top of the better. If you go onto the NHS website, you'll find that it answers a multitude of questions far more explicitly than I can.
OH is picking runners for our supper, he'll then prepare them, dig some spuds, and prepare those, after that I expect he'll have a snooze before getting Merlin down!

Frank Report 20 Aug 2018 15:23

Thanks Liz for your input. I will have a look on line, more out of interest than concern for the woman in the village, but of course ,I wouldn't po ho i for the poor woman.

I didn't attempt the back lawn, there is the saying ,"There's always another day tomorrow." I know the other one too "TOMORROW NEVER COMES" lol lol.

Had no idea what to get out for dinner tonight, so I got a tray of Pigs Liver out. Have done a pot of SPUDS, sliced some onions, and opened a small tin of peas.

Jan rang, she has left her sunglass's in he hotel where they stayed and asked if Ros can pick them up from reception. She won' need them so we can take them to Spain.

Ros has just got back.

Afternoon All
Yet another muggy day here. It gets a bit wearing day after day and night after night. Tomorrow is looking to be quite a hot day.

Frank, fingers crossed there is nothing nastier than just the usual water infections that Ros has. She has had them for so long I would have thought they might have picked up anything more serious by now. Still a worry for you both though. Yes as ~Liz says 4 stages 1-4 .Four being the most aggressive . But even the stage 4 Cancer can be treated successfully if it is contained. Larry's Daughter is a stage 3 and she had 3 lymph nodes affected(hence the chemo she will be starting next month).

Gill more work for you and OH then to get the groundwork ready for the new shed !!!.Electrics too will be a great thing to have in there %3A-D. It is never ending work in your garden %3A-D %3A-D.

Mel we still have webs and spiders but not quite as many as there have been. (thank goodness ) still too many though.
Next door have just got one of their smelly bonfires going. Chris came in and said it stinks I am convinced they must burn their household rubbish including plastics %3A-S %3A-S Good job the washing is in.

I have made a Chicken Pie for tonight.I always chuck a load of extra veg in so no need to use any saucepans. I just need ot put the Filo Pastry on the top . As I am sitting here I can see 2 large Dragon Flies flying around and around the patio. It looks like they are playing chase me %3A-D. they seem to be having fun. There are 4 now !!!!!!!!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Aug 2018 19:04

Lovely to see the dragon flies Jane we always watch them around our ponds when they turn up.

I am so hot. I am doing a toad in the hole with roast spuds and have just been cooked by opening the oven door to put the spuds in. I have had to take my shirt off. May have to go and jump in the shower but then I h ave to get the dinner out of the oven again so will wait till later after dinner. We hav'nt had roast tatoes for months!!!!!!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Aug 2018 19:07

I hope it's just another water infection Ros has Frank and nothing any more serious. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news.

Pleased to hear your OH's treatment is going well Liz, not long now before it's finished and you can both enjoy a nice time away.

Good to hear your leg is starting to feel better Mel. So you got your HW done as planned today, so you're all nice and clean now.

Yes, Jane it does feel like it's never ending, the work in the garden, just when we thought we were getting to the end as well. We only found out about the shed the other day and I've been looking for something to put my telescope in so I can star gaze. OH bought it me over 10 years ago and I've only used it once. I have quite a few plans for the shed and when I've finished it's going to look more like a GIRL CAVE lol %3B-%29 %3B-%29

I'm going to paint it cream, make the door into a stable door so I can leave the bottom shut and just have the top open. I'm going to have some seats in there and a nice little table, plus I'm thinking of adding some fairy lights around the roof inside and out as we're keeping the electrics in there. OH said "why don't you go the whole hog and put a couple of window boxes either side of the door" I replied "Oh what a good idea" He just laughed.

Anne Report 20 Aug 2018 21:40

Sorry to hear Ros has a recurrent bladder infection Frank, My mother has bladder cancer the main symptom was blood in the urine but for a long period her doctor diagnosed it as cystitis she had treatment and recovered.

My breast cancer was grade 3 and I had one lymph gland removed, then Chemo and radiography this was nearly 10 years ago and I got the all clear after 5 years. I was working when I was diagnosed and carried on working during the treatment, the radiotherapy didn't effect me at all and the chemo I lost all my hair and had dreadful mouth ulcers most of the time plus a blood transfusion but that was all, so I was luckier than a lot of patients.

It's very humid here again and I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep.

Gill your garden work sounds a bit like painting the forth road bridge, you and your OH have worked so hard for so long..

Morning all,

another grey day at the moment and I don't think its going to get any better later today. Its still very wrm though we are still sleeping with the bedroom window open.

Hips still playing up and its now been a week today as it started last donkey day. The trouble is it takes so long to do anything when I have to walk slowly and the bantams are in the opposit direction to the big girls so its east to the banties and west to the big girls.

Nice to hear from Anne. Have you been keeping ok Anne? apart from not getting a good nights sleep. Give that lovely Ruby a big hug an dkiss from me please.

Frank

Frank Report 21 Aug 2018 10:44

Good morning Mel and all,

Still very overcast and muggy. Had a goodish night last night, only woke twice for the loo, and slept until 7.00 am.

Ros and I had chat last night, She and the Doctor aren't too worried about hr infection as there isn't blood in the sample. She has a weeks supply of antibiotics, so will se how it goes from there. Thanks for all your concerns and remarks.

The Mothers Club have a Mystery coach trip this evening, with a meal afterwards. She has to b at he Village Hall by 6.15 pm She will be taking Val. next door and no doubt b stuck with her all evening. Carolyn is also going, so she can help with looking after Val.

It will leave me to get what I want to eat. I might even go and have something at the pub.

Yes, nice to see you posting Anne, Have you been doing anything exciting. ??

My hog must be getting good size, by the amount of food he or they are getting through. Tracy next door came in yesterday, she said she sees the hog most evenings walking down their lawn, and going under the fence into our garden where we have the HOG BOX.

Ros has bought a BIG model of a peacock in wire and metal. She wants it put on the side Garage door, so that's a job for today, together with getting the back lawn cut. Then the day is my own. So I will get my shower and shave and have a read of my book.

I must get my KINDLE out and charged up ready for Spain. So when the girls go out shopping I will have my books to read.

Conrad has mentioned that he will try to get me a new KEYBOARD fitted to my Mac BOOK while we are in Spain. this "E and T" are getting worse to use !!!

Onwards and upwards, as they say. See you later.

Bunnyboo Report 21 Aug 2018 11:16

Oh that's good Frank. It's very beneficial at times to have a good chat, OH and I do that quite a lot about all sorts. It clears the air and can get things that are a worry or a gripe into perspective and sorted without an upset. I'm glad you're both feeling better, it's so easy to run ahead and imagine all sorts!!
Dull day here and a bit drizzly! I've done a lot of weeding, (it needs it!!) and am just wondering whether I ought to water the veg? Does it or doesn't it need doing? Probably yes, so that's my next job!

Gillx

Gillx Report 21 Aug 2018 11:55

Morning all

Sunny here at the moment but a few dark clouds are coming over, I hope it doesn't rain as I'm in the middle of putting the plastic in the planters, I couldn't do it yesterday as it poured with rain. I was in the middle of moving the last wheel and got soaked. At least the planters don't tilt backwards anymore, so that's good.

Pleased to hear the doctor isn't worried about Ros Frank, you both must be so relieved. The peacock sounds nice, Ros reminds me of OH and I, always out in the garden. It's worth all the hard work though when you have something nice to look at.

I would water the veg Liz, even when it rains it never seems to be enough, at least if you water them you know how much they've had.

Sorry to hear about your hip still playing you up Mel, maybe you should go and see the doctor he might be able to do something about the pain. Hope it feels better soon.

Nice to see you Anne, it's been a while, sorry to hear you haven't slept very well, it has been quite humid these past few days, hopefully when the weather cools down a bit you'll sleep better.

Well, I'd better go and do some more of this plastic, OH and Sandra have gone to the tip and I'd like one of them finished before they get back.
