I went to bed early again last night at 11.55pm. Up once in the night for the loo and then up again at 7.55am when I got up. Done some ironing this morning and cleaned out the bantams so a good lot done before going out shopping.
Glad you had a little talk Frank as it puts all minds at rest. Hope Ros has a nice trip out and that Val dos'nt be too trying on the trip. Does Val know Carolyn?
Just having some toast and my mate so I can take my pills.

It sounds like you needed the sleep Mel. I normally go to bed very late (early hours of the morning) but every now and then I am so shattered I end up having a few early nights to catch up with the sleep I've lost. You've been quite busy today. I'm still putting the plastic in the planters, it's very awkward and to be honest I'll be glad when it's done and I can put the screening on the trellis bit, at least I'll be able to stand up straight to do that job, doing this plastic is killing my back.
I've noticed next door has had quite a few viewings, I wonder how long it'll take to sell. I hope we have nice neighbours and not another Mr Grumpy like the other side. I tied all my Bamboo up this morning as it was getting blown everywhere and going through the new fence into next door, the last thing I want is to give him an excuse to moan again. They look much tidier now to.

I just looked back, and see my last posting didn't get posted. I wonder where that went ??
Yes Mel, Carolyn knows Val, she has done so for the pass 35 years. I too hope Ros has a nice evening. It will be nice if they go somewhere where there is a Garden, as if the sun continues to shine, it will be nice to sit out rather than be inside, certainly before the meal is served. I just hope that Val doesn't end up with her meal all down her front. lol lol
Well the Peacock is hanging on the garage door. I have secured it well with hooks and wire, so should be O.K. I have also cut the lawn at the back. Ros has cut some of the wisteria back that was hanging over the garage door. I won't get wet now going into the garage.
All the "TWIDDLE MUFFS" she has made (27) ar going to a old peoples home in Wellingborough, where a mother of one of the woman who goes to "STITCHERY DO" lives. I'm sure they will get plenty of use.
I'm all showered and dressed. I have recorded Ros's Soaps for her. She will watch them when I have gone to bed. I haven't go anything out for myself to eat tonight, so might well go to the pub and eat there, and watch a bit of football.

I've spent most of the afternoon going through photos on my old laptop and transferring one's I want to keep onto my kindle and onto a memory stick which I can use on OH's laptop. My old one can now go for recycling. Another good job done!! We always go to bed at the same time, always have, and are usually in bed quite by half 10 every night, but we do watch TV in bed for about half an hour, usually the news and news night, sometimes we watch a film at w/ends, well, I do as OH usually drifts off to sleep!! We're usually up at 7.45, at the latest though, so it's quite long day. OH is preparing supper, (beans-again!!) I'm off to walk Cas so best get on!

It is a lovely evening for Ros and the ladies . I wonder where their mystery tour will take them. Its a peferct evenign for eating Al Fresco :-D
FRank when are you off to Spain? Its got to be soon if you are charging up your Kindle. At least there is no worry about Ros's Bladder other than this latest infection. That is a weight off your minds now :-).
Well as if my Niece Rachel and OH havent had enough what with Wills Dad dying, and trying to get monies to pay for the funeral(that is a bit of a nightmare) ,,the problem with their marriage and NOW some rotten B******s broke into his van and have stolen his work tools :-( :-(. Not for the first time either. D Life is not being good for that family right now.I am sure Janice will ring me later to update me on things.
I had my Physio this morning and oh boy did my tendon and calf muscles get a pummelling !!!!. I had to grit my teeth and bite my tongue so no swear words came out LOL . One or 2 might have escaped though :-D
Thomas is doing his vanishing act again. I havent seen him now since 5pm yesterday . I worry my socks off when he does this .Just hope he will turn up once it cools down a bit. This time next week I shall be needing him in to get him to the Cattery !.

We don't particularly have a set time Jane, it's usually the end of what we're watching on TV which is nearly always 10.00 and we're both ready for the off. We do have a routine though, OH goes down to check Merlin, wee Cas and put her to bed with two biccys! and check everything is locked and secure, while I clear up the kitchen, kiss Cas goodnight!! use the bathroom and warm the bed as OH puts it while he has a shower etc and heads for bed! My parents did exactly the same all their married life with one or two differences, cats, not dog, mllk bottles, no horse!! I guess we've just followed suit!! Each to his own I guess!! It's a lovely evening here, sunny and not a cloud to be seen! Maybe a walk later!

What something were you having Jane?
Did the shopping and got back quite early and fiddled around in the garden picking blackberries. Legs not been too bad and now I am wondering if its because I hav'nt been sitting around all day.
I do hope you get a nice neighbour Gill. It makes all the difference when you do and hope its someone younger that maybe you can make friends with.
This is the first year we have had walnuts on the tree and there WERE quite a few. The squirrels have found them and eaten them already. Oh came down with two yesterday and I picked one off today. They should'nt be ready till October. Em next door said she had them on her tree too. We gave them their tree when Em's grandparents lived there.
Is it this week Vanity Fair starts on the telly? I am looking forward to that. it has Frances de la Tour in it and some other people I like.

It was Sausages Mel. Nothing exciting . James and Chris have eaten now but I am still not hungry so my Sausages are keeping warm .I am just going to have fries with mine and green beans from the garden .
Liz my Parents always had a routine at night. It was Coco for me and Janice,Mum had a milky coffee and Dad I think had a normal Nescafe . Then it was settling the cats in the kitchen for the night, putting the milk bottles out and making sure the school uniforms were all clean and ready for the morning. Dad would clean the shoes. This is bringing back lots of memories for me now :-D Janice and me would have our Coco in our jimjams . I think my Dad always had a bath in the evening . Mum always had one in the morning. If the cats didnt come in Dad would stand on the back doorstep with the carving knife and the steel sharpener . That would get them in. Nothing is getting Thomas in here right now :-S I can't whistle any more ,my mouth has gone dry.

Banging a tin with a spoon can work for getting in cats too Jane, but only if they're hungry!! OH always showers at night, me in the morning, just seems to work out that way!! I can remember when I had my own key after I left school, having to creep around if I came in late for fear of disturbing the parents!! I found out years later that in fact my mother didn't go to sleep until she heard the door go and knew that I was safely home!! I can remember doing that with our two it was always a relief hearing them creep around, especially after they learnt to drive!! M is coming to supper on Thursday, L & family on bank holiday Monday, (they're back safely!!) it'll be good to see them

Morning all,
Dull and dreary like a real autumn day here this morning. I do hope you are having better weather than us lately as its miserable finding every day the same after all the lovely sunshine we had in past months. We said we would be moaning once the weather broke and here I am doing it.
Frank the street art was very good. Whoever it is has a good sense of humour. They see faces in things like I do but I wou ld'nt have the bottle to go out and paint them.
Even though I hoovered up the spiders the other day I see they are back this morning. Where do they all come from?

When we were in Holland, there were street artists who painted each other as various animals, birds, and all sorts mythical creatures. They were truly magical, and at certain times gave performances, created a tableau, and entertained the crowds so cleverly. Those were some of the pics I was sorting yesterday. Mizzerly day, but hopefully, like yesterday, it'll clear later. It's not spiders that are the problem here, I usually catch them put them outside if I can sooner than kill them, it's the flies, and wasps that we've had so much trouble with!! :-| luckily they seem better now and hopefully the cooler weather will see them off!! Our little Robin has got its red breast now! He/she is so tame and a real joy. I just hope horrid nothing happens! Apparently when they're older, the male bird is much sleeker than the female, (an obvious show off!!) who is much more raggetty (sp!)so we shall see if we get that far! Must hang that washing, so best get on. Enjoy your day everyone!

I was once told that its only the male Robin that sings. I think the males are bolder than the females and also have a more pronouced head at the front. The female being more slanted back on the forhead? How true it is I do not know but I do know the male feeds the female when they pair up and while she's on the nest.
Our Robin chicks are colouring up now too and the parents still tell them off, or are they just trying to get them to move away?

Morning all
Nice and sunny here, OH has just watered the front garden, he did it last night but with the sun it's likely to dry out quite quickly, so better to be safe than sorry. I noticed yesterday that the Crocus's I put in the other week have started to shoot, it does seem strange seeing them this time of year, I wonder if they'll flower?
I didn't know it was only the male Robins that sing Mel, I wonder how someone worked that out :-S That's the thing with Squirrels, you need to be quick or they'll take all the Walnuts and they'll be none left for you.
I've noticed there have been a few wasps around Liz, we had one in our kitchen yesterday, that's the one insect I really don't like.
I can't seem to get onto my emails today, it keeps asking me if I'm a Robot, I've tried sorting it out but it won't have it. Then they said there was some unusual activity on my account, because I can't get onto it I can't check it. Hopefully it'll sort itself out soon, if not then I'll create a new email account instead, maybe one of the free ones.
The planters are now filled with compost so I'll be putting the bamboo screening on the back of the trellis's today, although it'll probably take a few days to do as I want to wire it in securely, the last thing I want is for it to come off once all the plants are in there, it can be very windy here in the winter. It took me ages to do the plastic and I didn't complete it all including the compost until 9pm last night. Poor OH was trying to water the front garden when it was going dark, he couldn't do it until I'd finished with the planters, as they needed to be moved out of the way for the hosepipe to reach around the front.
Well, I'd better make a start as I think it's forecast to rain later.

Good morning Mel and Liz, and to you all,
We have a dull old morning here also Mel. No rain but very overcast.
Roa said the Coach Driver was a right old misery last night. He didn't park at the Village hall, so thy had to walk to where he decided to park. Once on board they drove around about 15 small villages, ending up at "THE LAMB" at a village called Little Harrowden. Just outside Wellingborough. (JANE WILL KNOW IT) there were about 36 on the coach. ONLY ONE PERSON on the bar, and TWO waitresses. So a lot of waiting around.
I went to the pub. had HAM EGGS and CHIPS. and a couple of pints. and was back in doors by 8.30 and in bed before 9.30. I left a note for Ros . At about midnight I woke up and came and sat and chatted with Ros for half an hour. Then we both went to bed. That was a first for many years.
Liz, I am sorry I missed you from the art work I sent yesterday. PLEASE could someone send it to Liz for me.
Jane we are off to Spain on the 16th Sept. I see it won't be long before you are off. That really is a B@@@@@@D for your Nices\s Husband.. There are some low life around. Were the police called, and did they find any clues.??
I think all or most Parents stayed awake until the children were home, I know Ros always did.
Any idea who might become your new neighbour Gill. Has the daughter mentioned anything ?? Lets hope it's someone nice.
No plans for today. B good.

I haven't heard anything about the new neighbours yet, the daughter only stops next door for a short time and we keep missing her, no doubt we'll see her at some point so will find out if it's sold or not then. That driver didn't sound to nice, I hope Ros and the other's didn't have far to walk and she had a nice time, even if she did have to wait a while for her meal. I have set up a new email account if I email you the address Frank could you sent the email again to me please, plus I'll know then if I've set it up properly and can receive emails before I pass the new address onto everyone.....thanks.
I was the same and stayed awake until I knew Michelle was in on time. Sandra has never been out on her own, if she did need to go anywhere OH would take her and pick her up as she has problems getting around on her own and that was to clubs for the disabled she was in at the time.
It's gone very overcast here and the wind has picked up, I think we're going to get some rain so I'm not going to put the screening on the planters today as I don't fancy getting soaked again if it's not finished. It's not a job I can leave half way through. Instead we are going to B&Q to buy the small Ivy I need to finish off the edge of the new border we made earlier this year at the bottom of the back garden, plus we need to see if we can find some thin wire so I can wire the screening tomorrow. OH went out earlier to get me some but couldn't get hold of the right thickness we need, anywhere, so B&Q is the last place we can think of to try and buy it. See you all later.

Missed your post Gill. I have replied to your Email, so you can inform all the others, that is if you received my reply. :-D :-D
Have had the laziest of days today. All I have done is prepare dinner for tonight. Lamb Shanks, new pots, peas and carrots, runners, brussels and spouters. Roa got me a sandwich at lunchtime and since then I have been reading.
You have certainly been busy again with the planters , I bet they will look a treat when they are finished .
Going to ring the Drs. now to see if they have my X RAY results for my knee.

Di called in theis morning and we had a good natter while oh was mowing and then he came in a bit later. She was here for an hour and ten mins so we put the world to rights. She has just had a new gas cooker and it is bottled gas down here as there is no mains gas. The cooker cost her £399 and the man had to come and change the jets etc and that cost her another £350. What an expence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going as I have a very annoying fly thats keeps settling on me............... :-| :-| :-|

Afternoon Everyone Another day of not doing much .I think it statrs to cool off tomorrow now so hopefully we shall both have a bit more get up and go. I was out early for my blood test and then popped into Sainsbury for a few bits (which turned into more than a few bits :-S. I need ot be careful what I buy now food wise as I cant be leavign lots of food in the fridge when we go. I think James and Jess are planning on booking a late hoiday somewhere so he probably wont be around to eat up everything.
Mel what a shame your Walnuts have been nabbed by the Squirrels. It was the same with our Hazel nuts. We never got to eat even 1 :-S :-S. Chris had to take that tree down esrlier in the year so the Squirrels will miss that one this year. I think I heard too that it is the Male Robin who does all the singing. We have some funny little birds that I am sure must be young Robins who haven't quite got their right colouring yet.
Frank,I doesnt sound as though the mystery trip last night was a huge success and not quite what Ros was expecting. With all those coaches the pub must have been expecting them so why have so few staff on!!!!!. That was pretty bad. I bet she would have quite enjoyed Ham Egg and Chips with you at the Pub :-D. I have to say that is one of my favourite Pub Meals(especially if the Ham is good.) I am counting down the days now to when I know I wont need to think about what to do for meals or cook !. Just to choose something and have it put down in front of me will be heaven :-D Chris has booked a lovely restaurant in Paris for an evening meal.We have been there twice before and love it.Its a very old place and full of character. I must look up the name .I think it is Coupe Chou.
Someone is at the door and Chris is down the garden .BBL

Mel at least your friend is sorted now with her new cooker even though it cost a bomb. I suppose this is one of the things that can happen when you live in the sticks with no main gas. I am not sure but have a feeling one of the villages not far from me still doesn't have gas.I must ask Nigel my hairdresser tomorrow as he lives there.
It is the funeral Friday morning of Will's Dad.I am keeping everything crossed it goes well. I know that they are a bit concerened that his Dads 'drinking' friends might show up.The 'wake' is just going to be a family lunch so no hangers on will be able to go. The ashes will be brought back here to Clipston and there will be a little do at the Conservative Club where Willys old mates still go. Willy's body was moved yesterday to another funeral place as the original people were dreadful and insisting on money up front even though they were told in the beginning it wouldn't be needed. They sound like charlatans to me and seem to have no compassion .Rachel said she is waiting until everything is over and then she will kick up a right stink about the treatment they have had from this firm. I can't say I blame her.
So Frank you go a few days after I get back.At least we won't be both away at the same time this time. It would be very quiet without both of us chatterboxes LOL :-D :-D

Evening all,
Haven't been about again as the family have been here some days and we've been busy in the garden having a good tidy up . It's been lovely and warm again today but i think tomorrow we might be in for some rain .
Gill i see your still busy in the garden the planters should look good once you've planted them up and a new shed too to spruce up as a lady cave :-D fairy lights some bunting and it will look really pretty .
So not long before your off them Jane ,has Thomas been about today ? i hope he doesn't go walk about just as you want to go away.
Frank Ham and chips was what we had last night it was nice and easy after being in the garden as Jane said i bet Ros wished she had gone with you after having to wait for her meal ,you would have thought they would have been more organised as they must have known the coach party was booked in for meals .
Oh goodness Mel what a price she had to pay for her new cooker . We've had blooming flies indoors too i have a couple of bites on my ankle and they always seem to play up when i get in bed and the bed cover rubs on the ankle and starts them itching like crazy .
