O gosh I have been up the fish and chip van in the village. I went up the shop about 5ish and when I came hom3e the van was in the square with a couple of people waiting at it. I came home and asked oh if he would like F & C from the van to see what it was like? He said yes so I said I would gon in half an hour. Well when I got down there they were queing right round the square. I know its only small but there were lots of people there so I thought it must be good. It was but I was up there nearly an hour. When I got in oh said he could have driven to Hatherleigh and back and eaten his fish and chips. I shall hae to go much earlier when I go again. These people do the tractor run up at the village hall and it looked good then.
The last van we had call in the village was frozen fish and it was horrid and you could hardly see the amount of chips you got but this new van gave loads. A bit big for me but oh would eat them as long as I hav'nt put vinegar on them.
I was making something this afternoon and have finished one but I can't tell you what it was as I want to make one for Sandra for Christmas. I think it will make her laugh and you should all get some fun out of it.

I went to fill up the filter jug a quarter of an hour ago and luckily I ran the tap in a jug and it was coming out all brown. We have filled the bath up twice and its still coming out brown. On their web site they say to run the taps for 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are on a meter.................................

Evening all,
What a beautiful day it's been ,it was lovely and warm in the sun shine , the hairdresser came this afternoon to cut the girls hair and DIL's so they are all ready now for school next week .
Nice to see your keeping an eye on us Frank ;-) :-D how are you feeling now ?
Oh Mel that doesn't sound good ,that's a lot of water to have to run off if you have to do it for two hours ,could you get in touch with the water company for your area and see if there is any work going on with water pipes in your area ,perhaps they have a burst pipe some where although i would have thought you would have low water pressure if that was the case . Hope you can sort the problem out and get clean water soon ,have you any bottled water ? Have you been round your neighbours to see if they have brown water too ?

No no and no Mandy no bottled water as by the time it happened the shop was shut.
We ran three baths and then gave up . I have no water in the filter jug and not a drop in the kettle. I usually have a big glass of water with my dinner but tonight I had to have orange juice. Oh has his cider so he was ok. He said he will run the water again in the mornng before I get up. He won't even be able to have his coffee in the morning unless it has cleared by then.
He went online and it said they were aware of the problem.

Hi all
Pleased to see you pop in Frank, hope you are starting to feel a little better now <3
Oh dear Mel, no water, that's not good. We've had our water go brown occasionally but it didn't take 2 hours to clear, hope it's all sorted now.
So everyone's had a new hair cut then Mandy, did you get yours done?
I've finally finished the Ivy on the planter it took me about 15 hours. I only slept for 19 minutes last night as OH has a cough and sore throat and was snoring for ages, I kept nudging him but it didn't seem to make any difference, I finally got to sleep at 3am, OH got up to go to the loo came back to bed at 3.19 coughed in my direction and woke me up. Could I get back off to sleep........not a chance, I tossed and turned for about an hour and a half then gave up and got up, I had a cuppa and about half an hour later it was starting to get light so I started the Ivy on the planter and finally finished that and put it in place in the front garden at about 9pm. I am shattered now,, so after Big Brother has finished I'm off to bed.
We're hoping to buy some plants to put in the two planters tomorrow and Sandra wants to buy some more books, then it'll be home for OH to finish off the third planter he started making today. Once that is made and painted, plus the plants going in, everything in the two gardens will be finished.
Well, I'd better get back to Big Brother as I have it on pause.
See you all tomorrow Night Night

Well here we go. I have spoken with he Dr regarding my knee and shoulder. It looks like I will need an MRI scan to see what can be done with my shoulder. Regarding my knee he is going to start injections. He is away for he next two weeks, and then I'm away for two/three weeks, so it looks like October .
Simons jumper is completed and waiting for them to call in to collect when they return from two weeks on their Narrow Boat. He rang yesterday and was on the River Thames making their was to WINDSOR.
Simon and Sally gave us gift vouchers for WhyeVale Garden Centres, so we went and spent them on Thursday. We bought a BAMBOO to go behind the pond, some winter pansies, and a light thing that Ros liked for the garden.
Denis and Pam are replacing the fence down the drive between us. Not sure when, but might be while we are away.
Some very sad news, Harvey's new kitten had been killed outside their house. He was a special little thing, and cost £500.00. Harvey is inconsolable at the moment. It happened when they were in France. The neighbour took it to the vets and had him Cremated. I expect he will try to replace him.
I see you have been busy Gill. Now is the tIme for a rest.
Mel we have a F & C van in the village every week. We have tried it, but it is sooooo GREESEY we don't have it anymore.
So the children are back to school this week Mandy, same time as ours. It will take you a few days to get back to normal ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros is at the hospital this morning having her eyes tested for her diabetes , Marine has taken her, and she will stay at Martine's until sh feels alright to drive home.
Not down the pub today. Last week ALL THE TABLES in the BAR AREA HAD RESERVED NOTICES on them. I lost my rag for not being able to sit anywhere, and stormed out. I reminded the Manager, that it will be "US VILLAGER'S" who will keep them open in the winter months. So they should think of that before basically shutting us out of out local pub. So I will boycott the pub for a few weeks.
MOANS and news over for now. See you soon. xxxx

O Frank thats a lot of news indeed.
I bet Simon will be so pleased with his sloppy jo when he sees it. Thats a long way to go in the boat right up the Thames. They will enjoy that two weeks and I hope the weather is nice for them.
Poor Harvey losing his kitten. Why on earth did'nt he put it in a cattery while he was away? It would have been cheeper. I hope he had it insured. Poor kitty. I had one of my cats run over when I lived in Suffolk. He was only young and I had never seen such a large cat as he was.
So Ros has some nice new things to put in the garden. What was the light like? Is it a solar one?
So you have to wait at least a month for some treatment on your knee then. I bet those four weeks won't go by quickly while you wait. Still you have your lovely holiday to look forward to.
Hope everything is ok with Ros's eye test. How often does she have to have them?
You would have thought they could have found you a chair to sit on down the pub even if all the tables were reserved as you're a local. They must have only been thinking about their pockets and its quite right what you said about the locals keeping their business up during the winter. :-|
This F & C van is an award winning one and the F & C were not at all greasy which is why we will go again. It was a little dearer than Holsworthy or Hatherleigh but not much spent on deisel to go and fetch it as its only 2 miles to Shebbear so 2 miles home again unlike Holsworthy which would be an 18 mile all round trip.

Welcome back Frank glad you're feeling better. Poor kitten, as Mel said why on earth didn't they put it in a Cattery? particularly as it was so expensive! It would certainly have been cheaper!! Tbh I can't understand paying anything for a kitten when there are so many desperately needing homes going for free, unless you're into showing, then of course they can cost a fortune. Glad your water is back to normal Mel!! Brown water is pretty unpleasant!! Nothing much happened here today, just the usual pottering about -nice and peaceful!

What a beautiful afternoon it is. I had my shower and shave this morning and have had a very lazy day. We have "BIGGLES" until tomorrow evening. His owners have gone to visit friends in Yorkshire. I forgot he was coming , so a good job one of us were at home this morning, when he came.
Alls good with Ros for another year. She bought me a paper home which I have had my head in all afternoon. She's watching her Jewellery prog. I have just caught up with he football scores. W.H. nil nil against Wolves (latest)
We both agreed that both of their cats (ones a RAG DOLL again very expensive) should have been in a cattery. Much safer, and as it turned out, would have been a lot cheaper.
Glad you had a nice quiet day Liz, it seems that is my day, every day lol lol.
Mel how nice to see a kingfisher. I haven't seen on since my fishing days at the lake. I do wish I could still do it. :-( :-( :-(
Time for a cuppa, and sort out what we are eating tonight.
Have a pleasant evening, enjoy your steak Mel. See you tomorrow.
