I remember the Cotton reel tanks ,button on one end with a rubber band and a match stick on the other end so that you could twist it round and it then moved the reel across the floor .
That's a good mix of bulbs Gill i liked the Sparaxis too .
Jane i want to record the Body Guard as some of it was filmed here at the railway station earlier this year .
Oh that's good the ring was found Liz they do so love their toys don't they ,Max has a green ball that he takes about with him but it now has a nasty split in it so i think it might have to go but i'll see if i can find another one like it first before i throw the old one out.
Still raining .

Yes where is our Frank? I do hope everything is ok with them both. We do worry when we don't hear from one of us.
Well I took the new pills before lunch and after I had a little look on the pc and my eyes kept closing so I went and threw myself on the bed with oh. He got up after a little while and the next thing was him calling me and it was 6.45pm. I got up and went and corned the chickens and bantams. The pills have worked and I am not in so much pain. Just a little niggle now. I shall take more this evening and shoudld get a good nights sleep.

I'd never heard of Sparaxis either until I saw them in the shop. I went to Home Bargain and they were selling all their bulbs half price at 99p and £1.49p a pack, some of the packs had 20 bulbs in them so plenty of bargains, all I need now is the rain to stop then I can start planting them. I'm hoping it's going to be dry tomorrow so I can put the ones I want to put in the ground in the front garden in and if I have time put some in pots for the back garden, the ones for the planters will need to wait until I have the main plants in them, I'm still not sure what I'm going to put in them yet, but I need to put the Ivy on the second planter first.
I'm recording the Bodyguard as Sandra and I want to watch it, I think there are six episodes in total.
So Cas is a happy girl now her toy has been found Liz. At least you know where to look next time something of hers goes missing.
Oh, so that's what a cotton reel tank is Mandy, I did wonder :-S :-S
I've still got this headache, it's starting to get me down now, I woke up with it and it's not gone properly all day, at least it's no longer a migraine so that's something. I think an early night might be in order.

Morning all,
Dry this morning but cloudy with it and its quite warm out there. Maybe the dog show would have gone ahead if the day was'nt changed!!!!!!!!!!
I had a good nights sleep with only one visit in the night and not so much pain so thats good but I am getting a bit of a pain down my arm of all things and these nurofen tabs make me a bit dizzy I think.
Where is our Frank? I am getting worried now. I hope he has'nt done anything silly.
I have planted Sparaxis bulbs in the past and think I only had two flowers out of the hwole lot of bulbs so have never tried them again.

Morning Mel, morning all
Dry here to but very windy, so I've decided not to make a start on the Ivy for the second planter, I'd have trouble keeping it still to wire it in, plus I've still got this headache. OH thinks it might be the weather causing it, maybe he's right, who knows.
Yes, no Frank again, hope everything is okay with him and Ros.
I've had bulbs from Home Bargain before Mel and they have been good, so I hope this lot do as well, I'll let you know how my Sparaxis do, I've never had them before, time will tell I suppose.
I've put the finished planter in the back garden and we've decided to put the other one next to it once it's finished. We were going to make a planter for the front so we're going to carry on with our original plans for that area. We've worked so hard on the new planters and with us living in the back of the bungalow and using the back door we're never near the front door so won't see anything grow there, plus we're worried someone might wheel them away and they were very expensive, so if it's one we've made it won't matter so much if someone takes it as it won't cost us much to make. Hopefully that won't happen but you never know nowadays do you?
Pleased to hear you had a good nights sleep last night Mel with less pain, sorry to hear about your arm though, hope it feels better soon.

Forgot to say, I was watching Gardeners World last night and Monty Don said to buy the bulbs you want now as there is going to be a shortage of them all over the UK next year. I don't know why there's going to be a shortage, he never said, but now's the time to buy them before they run out. I thought I'd mention it as Jane said she wanted to buy some Sparaxis bulbs and I wasn't sure if any of you were going to buy bulbs yourselves.

Afternoon Everyone Oh Frank I am really sorry to hear you sound so down in the dumps. All your pain that you have been having won't be helping ,and you need to try and feel better in yourself before you go away on your hols. If you do feel you would like a chat anytime you have my number. I shall be around until Thursday morning. Lots of love <3 <3
It seems to be brightening up now and warming up too which is nice. Its a bit on the breezy side but not as windy as it sounds like up your way Gill. Chris has done the lawn this morning so that is one job out of the way for the next couple of weeks or so. Beans picked (little dwarf ones) so I am going to squeeze them in the freezer for now.
Gill , I would have thought your planters would be quite safe (even with wheels) . It would be quite a performance for someone to take them and either wheel them off down the road or heave into a van without someone seeing.Saying that though you just never know these days what some people are prepared to nick. I heard Monty Don saying about the bulbs Gill. Chris says he will get his ordered when we get back. He spends ages going through his catalogue for bulbs, seeds ,veg etc.
Glad you had a good night Mel and that the tablets seem to be helping now. I sometimes think too that the Ibuprofen tabs can make you feel a bit dizzy. I take loadss lol and am always feeling a bit woozy, but that is also side effects of the other tablets I have to take. What a pity tthe Dog Show is not happening today .Does this mean it is not happening at all this year or will it be rearranged for a later date?
James and Jess have just booked a week in Copenhagen .I was getting worried they were leaving it a bit late and James really really needs a break. He has just booked the flights so they are all sorted now :-D
I am doing a Summer Tagliatelle Ragu for tonight. (sainsbury recipe from the magazine). It looks tasty so hopefully it will turn out as it should :-D.
Still noise from next door with drilling/sawing.. This is the 3rd day :-S. I dont mind too much but I feel sorry for my friends the other side of next door as they are nearer to where the new decking is being done and they have a friend staying who is just recently bereaved.I expect they were hoping for a bit of peace .(Not to be )
Oh boy Bodyguard was brilliant last night!!!!!. I think the next bit is this evening. Cant wait. :-D

We've put the planters in the back now Jane and they look really good. The amount of time we've spent on them we really wanted to see them each day, so we're hoping to make a cheap planter or two for the front where we don't go very much. I doubt anyone would take the planters but then we have had a few things go missing out of vans (left unlocked) in the street during the day and they got away with it, so you just don't know. I'd rather they took a cheap planter than the two we've bought and done up which by the end of our work is going to cost around £500 with plants as well. sorry to hear your next door neighbour is still making lots of noise, hopefully they'll be finished soon and you'll have your peace and quiet back again. Your dinner sounds nice, I'm just about to dish ours up, so I'd better go.

Good Evening all
Sorry to hear you are feeling so down Frank and hope that you will be back to your old self again soon, you know we are all here for you and will be missing your posts.
Jane we also enjoyed the Body Guard yesterday the first half it was so tense and had me on the edge of my seat. We thought it would be good coming from the same people as Line of Duty. Will be watching it later.
At the moment we are watching a recording of Fake or Fortune which is always very interesting, it's about a sketch by Henry Moore this time

Morning all,
Another cloudy day today but it is dry. what I would call a grey day. Its a bit on the chilly side too.
So thats the bank holiday over for another year and it does seem funny not to have the dog show. It always seems to end the summer for me and now we are into autumn and then the next thing is Christmas. Where is time going lately? It seems to travel along faster each year or is it because I m getting older?
My back is a lot easier this morning. Yesterday I could'nt lift my right leg up to put my sock on and oh had to do it for me. I also broke the long handled picker upper trying to get it on by myself. I shall have to buy another one when I see them in Lidl again.
Nothing planned for today and I don't think he is going to let me go shopping so I shall be happy staying in and doin g my craft. I finished 7 mice in a walnut shell yesterday and stunk the kitchen out with glue.

Afternoon All
Mandy that recipe was really good. I did think it needed a bit more flavour though and added dried Italian seasoning which did the trick perfectly . So I have copied the recipe out into my book now :-D I will send the recipe if you want it. Mel you sound like you are on the mend now today. Shame you snapped the sock ais thingy.. I think my Sister might well be using one of those next week after her new knee op. I think she is first on the list on Thursday. She will be in for 5 days all being well. I just hope her BP is ok now she has been put on the tablets.
Well I have done well today and almost done my packing! There is still a fair bit to sort out though but I am getting there. Chris said he will just do his on Thursday morning !!
I do need to sort out meds though and make sure I have enough tabets packed.
I just had to clear a mess on the patio . Thomas had been sick. I did count two tails
:-S :-S :-S but started urging then so didnt investigate any further. The place smells of Dettol now :-D I love that smell. Childhood memory there :-D
The Bodyguard was a bit on the raunchy side last night wasn't it Anne !. It is going to a good series . I will have to see the next 2 on catchup . The same with Vanity Fair which we will miss. The weather has been neither here nor there today. Just boring cloud, but still fairly warm.
Blooming drills /saws etc going on again now next door. Not all day just the last few hours.
Meatballs and Spag tonight. Frank if you are looking in but not posting I just want to give you a big ((((HUG))) <3
