OOOhh Linds - Thank goodness you reacted so quickly !!! and that the tea was not hot enough to scald her ! - You would never have forgiven yourself :-0 :-( :-(

Poor little thing must have wondered what was happening when you grabbed her out of there and whipped half her clothes off but at least she was O.K. :-)

Good morning everyone :-)

The weather doesn't look toogood at the moment but apparently it is going to be a lovely day .........

Breakfast choice today is:

Fresh Croissants and Danish Pastries,

Porridge,

Boiled Eggs and toast soldiers

Poached eggs on crumpets,

Bacon butties,

Sausages, grilled tomatoes, grilled muchrooms, fried bread

Or a mixture of any or all of the above.

Help yourselves please.

Good morning... :-D

Thank you for breakfast Dea....I rather like the sound of 'a mixture of all of the above' so that's what I will go for..... :-D

Very quick thinking of you Linds.........well done.

Cool but chilly here but the sun is shining and spring is on it's merry way.... :-D :-D

Hope Jonesey is okay.......haven't seen him around...... :-S

Are you alright Mr. Jones?.......... <3

Gins - Selwyn Froggitt ?? Not sure whether to thank you or brain you ;-)

The guys are here doing the radiators. Only arrived an hour late :-(

It might look lovely and sunny outside but when they are in and out and doors are open it's cold :-(

Hope they are finished before the girls arrive.

Gee Report 12 Mar 2014 16:08

I think you would like to brain me!

No 2 arrived to move the car off the drive and take it to the mechanic.

It's been stood on the drive for so long, it didn't move when the hand break was released........wouldn't mind but the drive is on quite a steep incline!

Dropped the keys with the mechanic who is going to come and get it tomorrow

Gins - consider yourself brained ;-)

I am turning into my Aunt - she used to say that no-one nowadays can do their job properly.

I knew how she felt today :-(

Guys come to do the radiators - an hour late - they do remove one and leave it in the driveway.

Within 5 minutes the travellers in the white van arrive and ask if they can have it :-)

Saves us having to dispose of it

Then they take the other one off, leave it in driveway - same thing. They even lifted the brackets.

Then the s**t hits the fan. New one doesn't fit. :-(

Our fitters had ordered the correct size BUT the suppliers had sent that was bigger so too high to fit under the window :-S

Replacement not coming until Tuesday :-|

OH sees the white van people parked along the road - goes and asks them to bring the radiator back (it was a different van but part of the same group)

He tells them they can have it back next week (I am at this point having a fit of the giggles at asking for it back)

Yes will do. NO they didn't . We are now sitting with one radiator and a space where the other one should be :-|

Why in the words of my aunt can people not do their jobs???

GD arrives and asks where it is and says she will buy me one :-D

Aaargh!!

Gee

Gee Report 12 Mar 2014 18:36

Linds, that's always my worry about tradesmen

I don't mind paying for a service, BUT, when they work like idiots, it makes me so mad and I feel vulnerable

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :-|

Linda

Linda Report 12 Mar 2014 21:08

Gins In fairness it was the suppliers fault they were given the sizes and sent out
the wrong size :-S

And just to rub salt in the wound the wall behind the radiator is a different colour :-|

Hopefully we still have some of the paint left :-(

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 13 Mar 2014 08:43

Morning everyone.... :-D

Thanks for putting the kettle on Gins....I need coffee to kick start me in the morning.

Dea, how do you fancy a nice bacon barm cake with mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns on the side????

I'll make an extra one because you may be hungry..... :-D

Meanwhile, I will be extremely virtuous and have porridge........sigh

Foggy here today but I think it is widespread across the country. Off to the Council tip with some cardboard and bits and pieces and then to the charity shop with some more stuff from our late friend's widow.

Must remember to get to the supermarket too.........the fun never ends... :-D

Hope you get your radiator fixed soon Linds.

We went to a carpet shop yesterday and brought home 2 sample books of kitchen flooring. I rather like the dark grey.....OH doesn't :-(

Hey ho..........

Good point Dea and...........since when did a man get a choice in the home decor!

I've had a day I'd rather forget, talk about hard work..........started off with one student needing counselling

Next another came in late having being pulled by the cops....£100 fine, no seat belt, £100 fine, no MOT

The day didn't get any better :-(

Linda

Linda Report 13 Mar 2014 17:43

I also have had a day from hell :-|

No 1 son has had his car keyed. We are 99.99% certain who did it no proof.

Will post on FB.

Police are due out soon

Gee

Gee Report 13 Mar 2014 18:09

I guess it is some ejiot Linds?

I am mentally pooped today. I listened to a young woman's story (student) and my heart aches

Ever had a day.........when you CAN'T wait to go to bed

Dea

Dea Report 13 Mar 2014 18:47

I know I am a bit 'thick' on some matters but what does it mean to have your car 'keyed' ??? :-S :-S

My son called round today with a big bunch of beautiful flowers for me while I was out shopping. It isn 't my birthday so I looked to see when Mothers Day is and it's not for weeks yet so when I took grandchildren back home I thanked him and asked him what they were for and he just said 'I just thought you might like some flowers' ............ - Isn't that nice? :-) :-) :-) Particularly when they are very short of money at the moment with only one of them in work.

Linda

Linda Report 13 Mar 2014 19:41

Gins - yes if you can call a man in his late 50's early 60's an eejit :-|

Dea when your car is "keyed" it means someone has used a key to scratch it.

The result is a really bad scratch that can cost several hundred pounds to repair.

Police are going to look at shops CCTV but don't think it will do any good as they are too far away and someone was working on them the other day.

Hopefully repairing them have a look on the other Fred

Good morning all :-)

Porridge is bubbling away for those wanting to be good ;-) :-D

Fresh fruits also available to 'spice it up a bit'

Lots of toast and various sweet and savoury spreads...

For the rest of us:

Cheesy omelettes, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread.

Please help yourselves,

Dea Xxx <3

Cynthia Report 14 Mar 2014 09:08

Morning all. :-D

Took me ages to get on here this morning....but it was worth it for that breakfast Dea.....thank you......xx

Why do we have use words like 'keyed' - why can't we just say that cars are scratched by keys???? :-S

I think it may be the dark grey. Sent some photos to daughter and she chose one that I liked.....so........... :-D :-D

Must rush now as am running late...~~~
