On image 3 it gives lots of places he was and when he was discharged....Until 1916 when he was called up again and lived to a good old age of 81.........But does it mean he was in the Army from 1896 through to 1908 without a break?And thats why I cant find him on 1901 cos he was in India?
I really am not good on army stuff,does not interest me much,but this was NO 1 sons G grandad......So I would like to get it right on when how and where .
I have every single Army paper I can find on him which also includes his date of death when his pension stopped.....
But image 3 is not really made clear for the likes of me with no interest in these things...

without being able to see it Fans, I think it does mean that he was in the army for 12 years from 1896 to 1908

I heard that our Sylvs...... talk to meself indeed.

Trouble is it says he was called up in 1916 on his other Army Pension records on Ancestry BUT on his marriage in 1914 he is still in the Army RHA.

what does it say on the 1911 census?

The original papers show that he extended his service in 1903 to complete 12 years of service ..... which would be end in 1908


so, yes, he was in continuous service from 1896 to 1908, then re-joined in 1914


It gives the name of his wife on p. 2 of the second pension ....... marrying in Dec 1914.

1911 he is not in the Army by the look of it...

It looks as though he was in India from 22 February 1898 to 8 December 1906

His mother was his next of kin

Yes...That death cert was a real added bonus and the only one I have seen on Pensions as well....
So it saved the poor reg lady a long search!
