Persephone

Persephone Report 11 Feb 2012 09:38

that Persie person...is around feeling rather foolish....

I went to physio for my foot... but it wasn't it was for my breathing...

Twice the breathing people have rung and said can you come tomorrow and I have had to say no cos I am going elsewhere.. another time OH answered phone and said can you go Thurs week .. I said yes.. then checked when Thurs week was to be and that was no good either as I was in Wellington...

So an appointment arrived in the mail.. I said goodie will be breathing clinic.. but it said physio and gave me an accident form to complete and to bring my notes... so I turned up with form about my foot along with my notes.. good thing I did not have x-ray of foot as well..

Went into therapy room and therapy person started to ask me how I had been and I started talking about my foot. I had to answer questions about gasping, yawning, chest pain, neck ache etc and muddled thinking hmmmmm well yes...

I have disordered breathing... I will probably be sent to the disordered thinking another time...

And their site map was disorderly as well... OH dropped me off where I was to go according to map... it was surrounded by a high fence and men at "work" :-S
so had to walk back along the main road and enter building from other side where they had a temporary walkway... it was about a doorway wide and there was a sign up saying no entry to vehicles... sheesh...

I think I might e-mail our Gracie and see what is going on... she has not been on FB either... I hope she is not near anywhere where there have been floods..

Pxx

Cynthia Report 11 Feb 2012 11:47

Muddled thinking? Count me in!!!

It is odd not to have heard from our Gracie - I didn't realise about any flooding. :-(

OH is considering foregoing our daily newspaper and getting Sky instead.......any advice anyone?? We would only want movies not sport.

:-S :-S :-S :-S

Gee

Gee Report 11 Feb 2012 12:23

Get him an ipad Cyns. You can down load movies for a couple of quid, plug it into your tv and watch together

Cheaper than Sky long term and you dont get charged extra (as you do with Sky) for the latest block buster

....he can also down load his paper ;-)

I DONT BELIEVE IT...!

HID has just phoned to say Mr H has been dropped off safely with parents and now HID is on way to the Farm to see my parents but.......

He is slightly LOST and would I direct him please cos he thinks he has to head for Bridgewater.

BRIDGEWATER IS THE WAY TO THE M5 TO GET BACK HERE YOU PLANK.!!!!

The farm is 15 miles from Mr Hs and he has done the journey with and without me HOW many times in the last 7 years??????????????????

And he wonders why I lose it at times..........I give up...I am buying him a Sat Nav as soon as I can afford it.!!!

So you do Victor Meldrew impressions as well. Is there no end to your talents?

Gee

Gee Report 11 Feb 2012 15:17

And I thought it was girls that had no sense of direction!

I wouldnt go anywhere without my satnav.....Im hopeless and get all flustered when Im lorst :-S

I was once somewhere near Birmingham, got lorst and came off the motorway to ask directions at a diner thingy......ended up in the waggon of this HUGE juggernaut with this geezer showing where to go, using his map!

Took my 5 minutes to get into his cab and the same to get out....got a bit of vertigo I did

When I was around 16 ish in the days when you hitch hiked everywhere, I was travelling through Buxton , going down to South Wales in the very cold winter.

I got a lift in one of those ' BIG thingies' !

Luckily, I had thick leather gloves on because when I eventually managed to climb up into it, I pulled the big door closed but unfortunately my thumb was in the way !!...... OOOOOuuch !!

I sat there quietly, wanting to cry but not wanting to 'let on' !

It was a VERY long journey !!! ;-) :-D

Cyn,

1) If the object is to save the cost of buying newspapers then that is easily achievable as most national and local newspapers have online editions.

2) If the object is to be able to watch films then there are cheaper options other than Sky such as Netflix (£6 per month), Lovefilm (£4.99 per month) and loads of others, some free.

3) If the object is to gain access to more Tv channels then Sky is good but can become very expensive if you add things like movies, Hd reception ect.

4) If you are considering using Sky as your broadband provider then that is a good option as you can get that for £7.50 per month and I find that the service is very good and the download speed is more than adequate for most purposes.

Gins idea of connecting an ipad to your Tv is fine but ipads are not cheap with prices starting at £399 for the basic ipad2.

Of course there is no end to my tlents Mr Jones...I have had some good teachers.. :-D

I can find anywhere on a map...Done it many times here and abroad...All this satnav stuff is for the useless I say...Just like HID.!

Went with HID to his sisters near Ely "once"and I directed us right to the gate and then we phoned to say "Get the kettle on we are outside the gate".She wouldnt believe it as we only had an addy and no destructions and came out to make sure we were there first.....Who needs Satnav when you have me. :-P :-P :-P :-P

Hitch Hiking...
Hmmmmm, did Muchos Muchos of that with dog in tow first and then dog and kid...
But before kid was born and I was 7 and half months preggers I decide to go visit family at the top of Scotland from where I was then in Wales.

27 hours it took and I got one lift in a Fuel Tanker and the driver was pretty deaf as I asked if we could do a "pit"stop for my squished bladder(very bumpy roads)and he didnt seem to hear me so I hung on and hung on for nearly an hour and THEN he heard me when I SHOUTED.."I need a wee NOW.".
Baby was still 2 weeks late.!

Bezzie got a truck driver to stop on /near a roundabout on the North Circular when Preggers with her first for a "pit"stop.....When you gotta go ,you gotta go...

Always prefered a lift in trucks rather than cars as drivers were on a deadline mainly and far nicer and safer..

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 11 Feb 2012 15:52

Got a lift in the middle of nowhere from "John Noakes"once...He was a very pleasant man...

Also got a lift in a roller one time and all the bloke talked about was "THE ROYAL WEDDING coming up....Princess Anns first one.. ;-)

Anyone ever busked down the underground in London back when??
Could make good money at it then..

Jumped the tube and been chased by the Transport Cops?
Been caught by the TC and asked which station you got on ??
And upon answering Green Park(You always said the stop before if caught)they wanted to know if you took the lift or stairs or escalator.....Had to know your tube stations cos a wrong answer meant a fine as well as yer fare... :-D

Cant do that now I guess what with all the added security and cameras and stuff...

Ever been.??...Nope wont go there... :-D :-D :-D :-D
