Well I sure didn't delete nuttin.

Nice to know we're providing some sad and apparently very thick soul with their daily entertainment though, ain't it? ;)

That's the problem with eavesdropping -- you often get it all wrong and make an idiot of yourself.

My reference to Ginny's comment in another thread about a FAMILY with the SURNAME Crapp ... right over the head of the clueless.

Of course, it's no wonder they were clueless. They were eavesdropping on a conversaton they weren't a party to and couldn't be expected to understand.

Hmm, maybe someone thought my affectionate reference to "all the other thickos here" meant them ...

Any more questions, friends out there in cyberspace? Just feel free to ask!

Just one question 'Oh almighty JC' -

HOW are 'you' ? - How is the 'other half' and How is your mum ???

OOOOppps - I think that is 3 questions but I am sure that you can condense them into one ???

There are some saddos aren't there? Not least certain person on FB who blathers on and on and on .........

Latest on brother, he and wife reunited and back in apartment, which has cracks in but not in danger of collapse. Will probably have to rehome. They're physically and emotionally drained, not least by severity of aftershocks. But they're unhurt and have each other.

No news about missing friend J, we're increasingly anxious. Can't make contact with his sister in Scotland, phone permanently switched off.

I emailed my old and dear friend in Japan yesterday; hadn't been in touch with her for too long ... she emailed right back (a canned response I think, given that she had been getting dozens of inquiries I imagine) that they (her Japanese husband and his family) were all fine; their building is earthquake proof (and they're well inland I think).

I hope you get a response soon MC.

Talked to mum this morning. From what she said the ER doc said, and googling, she has a tibial plateau fracture -- a fracture on the top surface of the tibia. They can be of varying severity, it seems. Some require surgery and pins etc. She already has a plate and screws in her other tibia, from falling down when I was about 4. (Perfect child me -- I mothered my 1-yr-old brother all day every day for a month, apparently. I have no recollection of it at all, but it could explain my brother ...)

Hoping hers is one of the less severe ones. But no weight bearing for weeks and weeks. And these days her senior cits building has less of the Englishwomen with lovely manners (and others she had been good friends with, some having moved to neighbouring towns), and more of the rude obnoxious gossiping (younger) residents that my mum doesn't socialize with, so she's a bit isolated, unfortunately.

Calharney -- I'll pass your questions on to her to keep her busy, and so she can share her ancient wisdom. ;)

Dea -- do you want a strong light to shine in my face?? ;) All are "as well as can be expected under the circumstances". Rained all day and night the other day, the street is an ocean because the sewer is blocked and frozen (despite the efforts of No.1 and a neighbour who spent an hour trying to clear it), they haven't come to take our snow away yet ...

Winter!!! (That's a curse word, if anybody wants to report it!)

Dea

Dea Report 12 Mar 2011 19:15

NO, JC - I don't know why you would think that I want to shine a strong light on you ?? - I was just concerned!

MC, I really hope you have some good news on your friend soon.

Well, I agree then JC - if it wasn't you and it wasn't me........?????

Maybe someone out there has an objection to the word 'dudgeon'......it may make them 'come over all peculiar' !! Well, more peculiar than they already are!

Continuing good wishes to your mum - the computer will probably be a blessing to her now. Does she have one of those call aid necklace thingies? Could be helpful to her.

Dea, JC may think you are a secret Gestapo agent....y'know....strong lights, water torture and questions, questions, questions! Don't worry, we all know that you are a lovely, caring person really - as does JC really :))

Going over to teach myself more about searching Ancestry now...~~~

Stupid jokes to try and cheer people up..Me included..

An elephant, an ostrich and a crocodile stopped me in the street today.
The crocodile pulls out a police badge and says, "We have reason to believe you are carrying substances of an hallucinogenic nature, Sir."
..........................................................................................................
Got off with this woman and went back to hers. She said 'I'm a bit kinky so you'll have to go along with it, OK?' I said that was fine so she said 'Stand there and switch the light on and off so it looks like lightning' so I did. She gave me a metal tray and said 'Now shake this back and forward so it sounds like thunder', so I went along with it. 'Now turn that fan on full so it feels like a gale, and get that that watering can and spray it over me like it's raining.' I said 'And then can we have some hanky panky?' She said 'What - in this weather?'
