Ginny

I never knew my Dad's parents ..... his dad died young in 1914, and his mother died about 2 years before I was born

I did know my mother's grandparents. Grandmother died when I was 14, and Grandfather died 2 years after my mother.

David Attenborough.....now there's quality programmes. We have a couple of his nature sets on dvd and they are just superb.

Dea, I sent a message to your poster a few days ago for which she thanked me. Have sent a notelet for her to check the replies today. She obviously hasn't taken on board about staying around for a while!

Happy birthday wishes to J. Sylvs.....hope she enjoys her 'me' day.

I thought the Suzuki chap was something to do with cycles too......!

I have general ideas of when rellies died ie...my uncle died on the day of my m-in-laws funeral and my dad died the day before my birthday but most dates are a bit vague.

Ja...x - I love your picture...soooo pretty.

Re the 'polyticks' thing Ja....x.

I have this worry that - you know when people think you are going a bit 'doo lally', they ask you things like "who is the present prime minister" etc., ?? - Well........... I wouldn't be able to tell them as I really do not take an interest nowadays !!! - I could tell them that it used to be Tony Blair and that it wasn't now, but I would be at a loss to be sure of the present day info.

It doesn't mean that I am 'doo-lally', just that I do not care !!

They would probably put me away though !!

Always remember when mums parents died ...road accident when I was 11 they were returning home from a short holiday buy the sea four days before my aunts 21st
The only other one was my dads only sister who died on my 21st birthday. I answered the phone that morning from my cousin and thought it was strange him ringing from Australia, but dad kept it from me as he did'nt want to spoil my day

Happy birthday shower Ja...x

Dont get me started on 'that' budget.....The Tory political faction..

Cuts in everything but of course what gets my goat is education. Cuts to Uni's so they have to charge the higher tuition fees..they have no choice

well, our PM brought in a budget that he knew none of the 3 opposition parties would approve ...... thus goading them into defeating it when it comes up for debate, and thus an election will happen.

BUT he has also been cited for Contempt of Parliament.

Because of that, there will be a vote of non-confidence in the government today or tomorrow

That will happen before the Budget vote ............... and if the vote of non-confidence passes, it will the first time ever that a Commonweatlh government has been found guilty of Contempt of Parliament.

I should be listening to the House right now ... but with my speakers on the fritz, I'd only get the video on line. Not very edifying. But probably as edifying as the sound. ;) Mayvbe they do closed-captioned at ParlVu. Like I want to sit and read that ...

Silly, if I'd spent every day for a year with you in the 1970s and ran into you now, I don't think I'd know who you were either! Some of us aren't good with faces; it was one of my failings as a politicker, and even as a lawyer. I'd show up for a hearing with a client I hadn't seen in a couple of months and I'd look at the multiple young Somali (or Sri Lankan or what have you) men sitting in the waiting room, and kind of hope that one of them stood up and walked toward me ... or I'd just kind of vaguely say the name loudly while looking at my file ...

Most people in the world aren't as nice as one might like them to be, of course, famous people who do good work no exception. I'll bet even Ed Broadbent has his snappy days. ;)

Just wanted to ask a question and I do not rally want to 'blot this man's copy book' but I keep seeing requests for look-ups from 'ManfromMars'

Is he the one who admitted a while ago on a thread that I can't now find, that he does research for people and charges £20 per hour ???

He has had several other names which some of you are aware of - I won't put them on here but would really like to know ???
