OOHhhhhhhhhhh - 'Thank crunchie it's Friday ' as they say !!

I am SSoooo tired - I need the weekend to recover !!

Grandchildren and their parents have had horrible 'fuey-type' viruses on and off for the past several weeks - I hope they go away now that the warmer weather seems to have arrived.

Hubby has now caught it and he is really poorly so it is getting closer to me.

For various reasons which I will not bore you with, I cannot afford to get it!

Just hope it does not get to me !!

OOOhhh - bring on the Summer !!!

Dea x

EDIT: - Oohh, talking about 'crunchies', I think I have one hidden away somewhere - I will go and explore !!!

It's funny what toys we enjoyed, kids today would just turn thier noses up.

A little while ago I gave the girls some money . I know when I was 14 the only things I wanted were clothes, so thats what I expected her to use it for.....No... so far new lap top and new phone and a game for her wii. Then I saw a post on FB that she needed £23,67 I asked why.... to buy a dress she says...what about the money I gave you I say...Oh thats in my bank account.....give up...think she expected me to cough up more

Re Sylvia's and my posts in the thread about the mate who might have been --

Have I recommended "Asta's Book" lately?

Ruth Rendell writing as Barbara Vine.

It's a little mystery (actually you don't realize it's a mystery til you get well into it) with a family history focus. It can be a little tough slogging at times, keeping the characters and timelines straight, but if you've had a relation who took a secret to the grave (and haven't we all), you'll probably like it!

Silly -- I see I just got the Blues in my inbox (not supposed to get them on Friday) -- I'll get to read the unedited version of the day's events. ;)

possibly not much more

only about 30% of war records for the ordinary soldier survived WW2 .... due to a bomb, and a fire. And most of what has survived is damaged

So one is extremely lucky to get a record.

I haven't yet found a record of service for a solider who died

but others say they have

Howsumever ....................... give me his name and I'll see what I can find.

I'm just about to go out for a couple of hours, so I can't do it immediately. But I'll give it a go.

pm me if you don't want to put on here
