Morning/Evening All

I just did the folding of the sheet with Chris last week Liz...and yes he dropped one of his corners :-S.I don't like fitted sheets as they never fit right on our bed as the mattress was so deep. But maybe they might work on the new one.I do find it really hard though knowing how to fold up a fitted one !!!!!.It just ends up all bunched up :-S

Oh Frank is there a time limit for you to get that refund on the shoes.?The receipt must be there somewhere.

Mel don't be a spoilsport and let Mr Drake have a swim :-D :-D.

I don't know what I saw just now running across the front of the drive .I think it was most likely a Stoat. It was pretty quick ,but definitely wasn't the right colour for a rat thank goodness.

I have to get cleaning the windows and surrounds in the bedroom as they are covered in pink plaster dust.So just having a quick coffee before I make a start.
It is a dark dark morning and looks like it could be getting foggy again.

Frank your'e not first again!!! I posted first and then Liz. Is'nt it annoying when you can't find something. I suppose you looked in Ros's handbag?? or Ros did.

Gill fancy forgetting the baubles...........one of the most important things on the tree.
More work. What time did Sandra turn here lights out? or did they stay on all night?

Many goings on at the ark last night I have a still to send and the video after where you can see two of them.

Jane I don't want Mr Drake to go in the ponds, have you seen what comes out the other end of a duck? Would make a mess of my pond filters.

It's still there sitting on the side of my pond as if it owns it and quacking at me when I go near it. I don't think it will let me catch it but I may have a go with oh's old pond net.

Afternoon All

We had a great time at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall last night, went to see Celtic Woman, they are fantastic, irish songs, Irish dancing and a piper playing Amazing Grace, beautiful, and I was fully awake to appreciate it all,
I hope we can get tickets when they come back to Scotland next year.

Doctor rang me this morning about my blood test which was done at the beginning of the week, Underactive Thyroid slightly higher than before, I was worried she would say I had to go on Medication, I would have said can we leave it till the New Year as I don't want to have to cope with a lot of side effects during christmas, But she said the best way is to keep an eye on things and I have to make an appointment in the new year for another blood test, probably February, such a relief, coping with the amitriptyline is enough at the moment :-D :-D

I'm well chuffed!! We got our picture this morning (it's beautiful!) and decided against Yate as someone told us that it was chaos over there, so we went to P.C World to see if they could fix the keyboard problem with my Kindle, and low and behold, after a bit of jiggery pockery the problem has been sorted by a very kind young man! Can't tell you how pleased I am. I'm now up and running properly again!!
Jane you can't do anything with fitted sheets except fold them as best you can, The wrinkles soon pull out when you fit them on the bed!!
Loads of chip wood has arrived for Merlin's yard, so better go and see if I can help to spread it!

Hello all,

I have two little rascals coming over shortly to stay whilst their mum and dad go shopping, so thought I'd type a short note.

Fiona, how lucky you were to go and see Celtic Woman last night. I watch them sometimes on PBS.

Just wanted to say, in case anyone was thinking of sending me a card, not to do it. Postage is much too high.

We have a sunny, but very cold day here. Yesterday went extremely well - food was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. I didn't have time to take photos, but son took some of me with my two great grandchildren. I sat and held the baby for a long time, so that gave me an excuse not to make the tea etc ;-) If the pics are half decent, I'll forward one. It will depend on whether or not my snaggle tooth shows :-D. I still have all my teeth except one, and have some bridge work there. Have a few crowns and caps, but other than that they're all there. However, over the years one of my teeth has been slowly becoming more and more crooked, and is now very noticeable - at least I think it is. If it doesn't show too badly, I'll send a picture.

Jane, you can buy sheets to fit the deeper mattresses - makes it nice and snug. I went shopping last night and it was crazy out there. We stood in line to pay for 1 hour and 10 mins. I actually had fun - all the people around me in line were talkative and funny. I'm glad I went. It gave me a good holiday feeling.

Must go, little ones are on their way.

magpie Report 28 Nov 2014 16:26

I'm the same as Ruby on the card front. Postage is far too expensive and the money better spent elsewhere.
Merlin seems very curious about his new yard covering and not quite sure what to make of it. At least it is clean and dry!!

Jane Report 28 Nov 2014 17:20

Fiona that show sounded amazing :-D.I bet you came out buzzing :-D :-D

Liz what is your picture of?Where is it going to go? I have a feeling you might have actually said but I can't remember.

LOL Gill.Fancy forgetting your baubles :-D.I expect they are all up now.
I forgot to dish up the Turkey one Christmas day :-S.We all started eating and then Hannah said "Mum is there something missing"....One too many sherrys I think when I was cooking :-S :-S.I have never been allowed to forget that one .

Well I have had the cleaning bug this afternoon. Most unusual for me :-D.Plus I had to get James to strip his bed this morning as he is off tonight to Jess, and then tomorrow Hannah will be here for the night,so all the bedding is washed and back on ready for her.She isn't that impressed that she has to sleep in her Brothers bed .But as we have hers it was either that or the settee. We bought a topper for a double bed the other day (groupon) so I thought it was a good opportunity to stick it on James 's bed.Well I am quite disappointed as it a little small and doesn't quite reach side edges. But it's on now.Good job we didn't pay the rrp, otherwise it would be going back.
At least with Hannah coming James has had to have a big tidy up and clean :-D

Have you seen the ridiculous and dangerous behaviour of all those people forcing themselves into an Asd* store this morning .It was like a load of wild animals :-S :-S,and almost like looting. They way all the TV were being chucked around I wouldn't be surprised if some got broken.....serves them right :-D
I am so glad I did my shopping yesterday.

I wonder if the move has gone well at my Sisters :-D.I bet it has been total mayhem. At least little William was at Nursery all day so would have been well out of the way.He will get a shock tonight when he realises he won't be at Grandma and Grandpas :-(

Chris has ordered a new Dyso* today. One of those little cylinder ones (on a ball) with a long hose(hose?)You know what I mean.Hopefully that will much easier for getting underneath things, like my new bed :-D.I can't believe how blooming expensive they are,but I think this one is about £150 + less than the usual price. But still extortionate :-0

I did have to watch The Fall again this morning.Liz is it just us two watching it?He is now getting that young girl involved.I wonder now that she is 'not a child' as she is 16 if something will happen to her????.It's a blooming good series.I think Britain is just the best at these kind of programmes don't you?

I think there is a new horse in the field across the road. They were all going crazy this morning and literally kicking off.I was watching them and was quite worried that all the bucking could have caused some injuries. Then they would all suddenly gallop off to the other end of the field, coats and tails flying!!!!!

Must put James's dinner in now as he will want to be off before it gets too late.It is a couple of hours drive and he has the Dartford Tunnel /Bridge to get through.

Ruby Report 28 Nov 2014 18:31

Frank, have you asked St Anthony for help in finding your receipt?

magpie

magpie Report 28 Nov 2014 18:55

It's 'Little Girl with a Dog' Jane by Picasso painted in 1905. If you look it up you can see that it is a charming picture, and will look very well in our bedroom.
Merlin carries on like that at times Jane, but there is only him so it doesn't cause any potential injury. I think they usually mange to keep out of each others way when they have a 'burn up'!
Yes I think it is only you and me watching 'The Fall'!! I agree, I think that something sinister is going to happen to that young girl!! He's obviously 'using' her and who knows what plan he has for her - nothing pleasant I'd say. Doesn't he have a sinister face, those glowering eyes brows!! eeek!!!! Not only that, what about the lustful Police Officer, AND the fact that SHE has lesbian tendencies!!!!!! What next?!! I agree we do seem particularly good at these spooky progs!
Glad your nephew is getting sorted out, he does seem to have had a tough time so lets hope things get better for him and little William On the other hand your sister's going to enjoy a bit of peace. She and her hubby certainly deserve it.

Oh threw the leccy out turning the light on in the garage and my pooter was on so it has'nt been working properly for a while. I have to keep restarting it as it tells me the server is'nt working when I try to log on.

Hope the move went off ok today for little William and his dad.

magpie

magpie Report 28 Nov 2014 21:10

It must be an awful nuisance for you Mel constantly losing your leccy. We used d to when we lived on Exmoor now and again, but only when the weather was very bad, and then not that often. Perhaps you've got an overload somewhere that keeps tripping it?
We're watching Ben Fogle in bed as we're both kn'd!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Nov 2014 21:10

Going back to fitted sheets......when I hang them on the line I peg the top corners on inside outand tuck the other corners in them and then when they come off the line I fold the edges in and then just fold the rest up best I can. I never iron the bottom sheet as when you put it on it stretches it out anyway. The only ones I would iron are cotton ones on the middle bit where you lay.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim.

Dry , but dark and dismal , OH was so busy yesterday at work, he thought it would be better if he went into work today and took Sunday as his day off, much better for me as he will be able to take me to church and then go onto swimming, then if he is back in time he can pick me up.

I'll start Christmas decorating next week, thinking of waiting to a day that I don't have to babysit, I can just imagine Sofia or Matteo into the boxes of decorations, everything will be dragged out :-S :-S What a mess !!!! :-D :-D

Better go and get a shower

Frank Report 29 Nov 2014 11:58

Morning all, evening Kim,

I won't be going out shopping again this year. It was murder. !!! Northampton has so many road works, the traffic is backed up everywhere you go. It took us over an hour to get out of Town. What with the shopping traffic as well, where do all the people come from ???

Started off wet here this morning, but now the BIG yellow thing is shining and it's quite pleasant. Ros has done a white wash, and that is on the line. I don't think there will be a lot of drying, but it will "OPEN THE THREADS" as my mum use to say. !!!! Where did that saying come from ???

Going for a stroll down the PUB for the match a bit later. Tony will bring me back.

I had terrible cramp last night, at one time both my calves seem to come up to the back of my knees. :-( :-( :-( How painful ,I feel like I have been trampled on by a herd of elephants.

Ros is doing baubles for the Christmas sale in the village. She gets polystyrene balls and puts silver balls on pins and sticks them in the balls. It take ages to do, but look great when they are done. She has made loads before for the friends and family.

Bottom fitted sheets DON'T get ironed in this house either. Just folded up and put away.

Hope you all have a good day.

Mel, No problem regarding address, did you get Gills ??? if so let me have it please.

What's our Jane up to today, she always seems to be out and about. I suppose she's spending Chris's tax rebate. I get a letter every month from some Bast##d saying I am due £600 odd rebate from the tax man, and asking for my bank details. I would love to get my hands on them :-P :-P :-P :-P They would be able to send another email !!!

I must ask oh to let me know when he is going to turn the lights and machines on in the garage as thats the main problem.

Must go up the shop now before lunch.

I've heard of not being able to dry a thread on a wet day Frank, but nothing about opening threads!!!
Lovely day here, but quite chilly! We're tidying the barn this afternoon and sorting out a box of children's books. Now I have all these shelves (!) I can finally unpack them and put them away!!
Your leccy sounds a real pain Mel! Let's hope you manage to get it sorted.
