Frank Report 3 Dec 2014 15:41

We have no sign of rain here Mandy. I hope it's not coming over from the EAST as if so, it will arrive here later. At the moment we have a clear sky, with the sun sinking down which is very bright on the back of the bungalow.

Surly Ann, The Solicitor can argue the point in court, if it came to it. !!! Building a wall WON'T really prove anything will it ?? and it won't be cheap having to put in the footing and build the wall. I would put in an ELECTRIC FENCE !!!! That would give him a SHOCK, if he touched it :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'm sat looking at my cherry tree. Now that it's bare you can see the CLEMITAS going right through the branches. With a bit of luck we should have a good show next year.

You certainly have had a good spend today Ann. I bet HUBBY loves going shopping with you :-\ :-\ :-\

Another reply regarding the SCAMPI. They now inform me that WHOLE TAIL SCAMPI will IN FUTURE be in a black pack, and the MUSH will be in the BLUE PACK. Surely they haven't decided that overnight. !!! So I wonder how many people have complained ??? They say they are sending vouchers and a letter of apology. We will see what that turns out to be. !!!

Ros is still standing at the table wrapping Christmas presents. Where she is going to put them all I just don't know. The conservatory is almost full with all her Jewellery making and sewing stuff. There's no room in the bedroom, So the lounge looks like it will be a warehouse. :-D :-D

I am putting on a suit, collar and tie this evening. I just feel that I want a change from casual trousers and open neck shirt. I bet during the evening the jacket will be on the back of the chair and the tie loosened from my neck. BUT I will start out POSH. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

See you in the morning as I think it will be to late tonight to pop in.

I have read most of the entry's on here and wonder if I could join!
I love in Peniscola in Spain and left Genes a few years ago but in the last week I joined again as I missed the banter as well as my tree.

Hello Bridget. I remember contributing to a Poetry thread that you started a year or two ago! I had a different thread name then, but I really enjoyed everyone's contributions and missed it when it stopped .
I won't be on the threads for a while after tomorrow, just a short break you understand!! but I know you'll be made very welcome on here.
We went to Yate this am and managed to park after last week's fiasco!! I then discovered that I had left my list at home, so we had to try and remember what was on it!! When we got back I discovered it in my bag tucked inside my Kindle! (I always take it with me as you never know with Ian where he might call into on the way home!!) Senior moment methinks!! I had missed one or two things, but I'm going to the Hygienist on Friday, so I can call into Tesco's in Tetbury on the way back! so no harm done!!

WELCOME to my HAREM Bridget :-D :-D :-D The girls will all tell you what a flirt I am, even though I will be 76 on the 22nd December, I can never look passed a
nice looking girl/lady. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Never mind where you LOVE where do you live ??? I haven't heard of that place. My son lives most of the year in SAN PEDRO where he is in the new build property business. I worked for him for a while and spent many weeks in the area of San Pedro, and enjoyed it very much.

How long have you lived there ??? and where is the nearest place we would know. ???

Well girls I'm of for a shower and shave, and tog myself up. ;-) ;-) ;-)

You have done well Mandy to get 3 of those little pudding hats done! I can just picture them wearing them. :-D

Yes, welcome Bridget. We get onto all kinds of subjects now in between the odd memory as we seem to have nearly run out of them!

Calm down Frank.....you already have your hands full. lol. I got caught with reformed scampi a few years ago and reformed fish fingers. Now I read the labels very carefully. I bet your clematis will be covered in flowers next year having made good growth this year.

OH has gone to a local match a few miles away so I might nip to M*S down the road soon. It should be clear of traffic now.

I had to chuckle earlier. We tend to sort the main food cupboard with things OH likes and I don't on 'his' side and things I like that he doesn't on 'my' side as it means less rummaging for both of us. Well, you might know it, he often 'trespasses' and helps himself to my things when there's nothing he fancies of his own!! lol Sometimes he tells me and sometimes not. Well he found some packet cup soups on my side today that he fancied and I said 'yes, help yourself.' Well, when I walked past where he was sitting and saw the colour of the soup I knew it wasn't what he thought it was as it was a creamy colour and should have been more tomatoey. I asked if he liked it and he said 'yes', so I said 'it isn't what you think it is, it's chicken!' Well he jumped up and went to fetch the box he got it out of. (to prove me wrong no doubt!) 'It's no use looking at the box' I said, 'I often put the last one in a box in a part empty box as it saves room, you need to read the packet.' He checked the packet in the bin and saw I was right and looked a bit deflated then, but you should have seen his face when I told him they were 18 months out of date as well!! :-D

Rolling round the floor laughing Ann, that'll teach him :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Gosh did I laugh, my side hurt now............................

Bruoght fish and chipa in fo rdinner after shopping for chicken food and other bits and pieces. Got another little pressy for oh. o and another but tht ones to eat. It seems everything I have bought him this year is to eat!!! as if he is'nt big enough already. The only consulation is it is not ALL chocolate.

When I got home after drk he had shut in the chickens and the bantams and corned them and fed the hedgehogs. That was a real treat but I still went down fter we had eaten and put more tinned food out where the bowls were down a bit and when I opened up the ark there was a hog sitting in the empty food bowl so I pushed it out with the knife side and it went into the bedroom bit so I filled the bowl and put more dried food on the top and shut it back up again. When I got up to the patio outside the kitchen door I stood for bit and out he came and went round the back to the hog box.

Now I have four hedgehog boxes down there I am going to call it a name and I want you to suggest some please?

I want something really catchy like Hogs Bottom or something similar but I think it may be Hogs Bottom as thats the bit of them I see most and they are at the bottom of the side garden.

So lets see what you come up with please?

Been sunny here all day with only a slight cold breeze. When I went down to refeed the hogs their water bowls on the grass were just starting to freeze up.

I didn't like the spitting on the canvas either Jane!! Yuk!! It was a long film wasn't it...... I kept having to move my btm the last half hour. Well, it sounds like Chris was ready to christen the new bed....Turner style!! lol. I bet it will be lovely to have more room tonight. :-)

Lol Mandy, I've just remembered the time I put an old bag of out of date raisins on the worktop ready for the birds and I caught him snaffling those!!! Another time he told me there was some peanut butter I'd left in the utility room and could he have some. He soon changed his mind when I told him that was an old jar that I used to smear as bait on the mousetraps!! The best of it is I told him what the raisins and peanut butter were for when I put them there but he just doesn't listen!! He seems to ask first more often now though!!!! lol.

Yes I had to laugh as well Mel!! :-D I didn't know the soups were out of date till he handed me the box..........I haven't sorted that cupboard yet!!

Not when you pronounce it in Spanish Mel! It doesn't sound like that at all!!
Doesn't hurt for OH's to be brought down to earth now and again! I think, at times. they can all be right old know alls, when in fact half the time they are NOT. Proving them wrong can be very satisfying!

Liz are you still with us tomorrow ?Don't stay away too long will you.

LOL Ann,the Cuppa soups :-D :-D..That was funny.I am going to have to have another look in a cupboard or two again and see what still remains out of date. There is always something tucked away.

I keep looking at the time as I really want to go to bed,but it is just still too early. There is nothing on TV that takes my fancy andI'm reduced to watching a programme about Compulsive Obsessive Cleaners :-S.I could do with one here to clean my house :-D

It was nice coming home in the dark from Northampton ,seeing some houses with Christmas Trees all lit up and outdoor lights. We have finally got our Turkey ordered .Chris will pick it up on Xmas eve morning. So another job done :-D

Signing out for tonight now. That bed is calling me :-D

Annx

Annx Report 3 Dec 2014 20:55

I watched one of those progs in bed last night Jane when I couldn't find much else! The one I saw was about them sending the 'cleaners' to help sort out those that bordered on being hoarders and didn't clean. One lady always took photos of where the baubles on her christmas tree were positioned. She had to do this as she took them off at least 10 times in the Christmas period to wash them and put them back!!! Another took her Christmas tree down every year on Christmas Day after lunch but before the Queens Speech!! She had 2 children as well....bet they were impressed!! <3Sweet Dreams <3 in your new bed and bedroom :-).

Ruby Report 4 Dec 2014 03:36

Hello everyone,

Glad you've got your new bed Jane and hope you both have slept well. The movie you and Anne have seen - Mr Turner, sounds interesting. I haven't heard mention of it here but will watch for it.

I had a good day shopping today, and then lunch at O'Charl*e's. I had tortilla chicken soup - very good but quite spicy, and I had a loaded baked spud. Butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon and chopped green onions. Today was free pie - we all took it home with us. I had chocolate mint brownie pie :-D It had chunks of choc. on top with cream. I must get a grip on these desserts in the New Year.

I bought two little artificial Christmas trees to decorate - one for my sweetheart's grave and one for his mother. I'll have to tie the decs on securely and fix them into the urns with Styrofoam.

This evening I went to the first of the Christmas parades in the area. I love to see the High school marching bands. The kids are all shapes and sizes, but they do such a good job and are so conscientious. My little grand daughter was on one of the floats with her little dance class and they were all so excited.

I hope James is feeling better. He must have been feeling pretty rotten to come home from work so early.

I have asked Mel to send me everyone's address, if it's okay with you all. I want to send cards, but I don't want you all to feel obligated to do the same because I know the postage is so high.

I'm going now because there's a fellow on TV about to tell me how to look and feel 10 years younger :-D

Hello to Bridget - I too remember your poetry thread. I love to read poetry.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Dull here this morning but it is dry. Last night there was a heavy frost up untill about 11pm then it disappeared. I think it may have rained a little. The sky was so clear at first with all the stars shining their heads off (we have no street lights or houses near us) and when I went out and it had gone the sky was cloudy.

Oh has gone off to get a couple more coping stones for the top of the roof he told the builder he had'nt bought enough. Most of the tiles are back on now and they have made a proper job and I shall most probably get a proper bill!!

As you can see from Ruby's post above she has asked me for your addresses. If you would like to give her your address please send it straight to her. Thanks.

magpie Report 4 Dec 2014 09:53

Ruby, I'm the same as you, I love poetry as I was brought up in a family that was very into the 'Arts', and I took it as a main subject at school. Nothing else really interested me so other subjects were a bit of a struggle!
Did anyone else watch Michael Portillo last night? I think It was the most interesting of all his journey's so far. Israel looked such a beautiful country and its such a sin that there is so much conflict in th Middle East, as it all looks quite magnificent and would be such a fantastic place to visit.
