I,m back and well rested. Had a luke warm cuppa but oh ate my cake!! Lip is still numb but top teeth don't feel quite right at the mo but it may be the injection. The left front one touches my lip more than the last set and there's a tiny winy gap.

No good at taking selfy's as I look weird in them.

Not putting the camera out tonight.

Hi to Maureen, nice to see you post again. We've missed you.
Waht have you been up to to have been busy.

Have to do dinner now. I have some chicken which I am going to cook with mushrooms and carrots in a soup with a little mash for me and rice for oh.

Jane Report 2 Dec 2014 18:37

Mandy it is the top of the wardrobes that is the trouble. There is a wooden bit that goes around the tops but they come out further than the actual wardrobes (if you know what I mean.)...These things are sent to try us,and they certainly have today :-S.So there are still parts of 2 wardrobes still in the garage.Plus tons and tons of packaging. Then also the cut off bits from the carpet and underlay. You can't move in there again now and we only cleared it all a couple of weeks ago.I think we will be having yet another skip then James's old desk and broken chair, and clothes rail thing can go in it with all this other rubbish.
Also our bedroom door needs a bit shaving off the bottom as it sticks on the carpet. The last time Chris shaved off a bit of door it was a right disaster. You could have almost limboed under it lol...But now he says he has the right tool.Lets hope he is right. It must be done as it is right where the join is in the carpet so we can't keep dragging the door over that bit as it might pull the join apart :-S
We sound like couple of old crocks here as his knees are killing him and my thumbs and fingers are like sausages and stabbing.Lots of "oofing and aarghing"going on .

Well blow me this page has gone back to normal thank goodness.

Nice to see you back Maureen. I keep sending my "FUNNIES" to you, hope you still get them. Have a wonderful CHRISTMAS. Where are you off too.???

Oh our Liz is going again, I find your posts very interesting and will certainly miss you <3 <3 <3 I will keep in touch with emails. ;-) ;-)

Had a disastrous tea/dinner tonight. The SCAMPI was from YOUN#'S and it clearly states "SCAMPI" across the package. When you get it on the plate it tasted horrible. We got the packaging from the bin, only to find it was "formed scampi with added water and coated in breadcrumbs. I have sent them a stinking email regarding the wording. So take care, if like us,. you fancy SCAMPI. LOOK AT THE BACK of the pack. It's not what you think. !!!! We ende3d up throwing it away. We will get something to eat later.

Poor old you Jane all this hard work all gone down the drain. Let's hope the mattress fits :-D :-D :-D

I suppose it's expected to have a bit of dis-comfort after having your tooth out Mel, A drop of scotch tonight will help you sleep ;-) ;-) ;-)

I was going to walk down the pub tonight to watch a match, but it's too blooming cold outside. So will stay in the warm.

magpie Report 2 Dec 2014 19:49

I certainly will keep in touch Frank, and I'll more than likely be back (like last time!!) Just a bit of a break for a while!
I hope Mel's ok after her dentistry, it's been a quite a saga for her. Let's hope it's done and dusted by now.
Your supper sounded very disappointing Frank. Scampi is lovely but not like you described!
Tomorrow Ian's got his blood test (P.S.A) and Cholesterol test. A slight hurdle, so we shall be glad to get it behind us.
Hopefully we'll ALL sleep better tonight!!!!

Annx Report 2 Dec 2014 19:51

Evening All,

Oh Jane......youve had a disaaaaster with the wardrobes then!! :-S There was me thinking what a big bedroom you have too and you still can't fit them in. It sounds like they have coving around the tops from what you describe as sticking out bits! Do any of them sit next to each other? If so, it should be possible to take the side covings off on the side where they touch and trim the front pieces flush with the sides. Then they could be pushed together........unless they have sticking out bits at the bottom as well!

HELLO MAUREEN. :-D <3 Nice to see you posting and I have missed you too and look forward to you posting in the New Year!!

That's good that the dentist is done now Mel. Far better to get it out of the way before Christmas than have it to look forward to after. The numbness does make everything feel odd till it wears off, but no doubt the dentist can shape things to fit better if need be. Talking may be strange for a few days I expect too.

Well, I slept really well last night and have now been able to get rid of 1 pillow so I lie a bit flatter. I shot off to take the shoes back early this morning and only just got a parking space!! OH was muttering a bit as I went as he thought my going would make us late at the fav carvery, but I made good time. I've ordered the replacement shoes online now and also a book about London Football grounds that he wants. They have Christmas extras at the carvery now and a bigger choice of deserts. The price has increased too for this month but we've been told we can continue with the old price. ;-) ;-)

Liz, I didn't realise you were only with us for a month. That's a shame.

I went out tonight and did some shopping at the retail park. I got some Christmas things like streaky bacon, pigs on horseback and stuffing balls with red onion. The last 2 have been decanted into foil dishes ready for cooking on the day and are in the freezer now. :-)

Oh Frank, as soon as you mentioned wrapping and sellotape I thought the air would be BLUE. :-0

I need to start getting a move on. I need to write cards, sort nibbles or cakes and my beads for Friday as we all take something the last day. We are doing beaded tealight holders, but I have decided to do a holder for a bigger candle instead. I have cream one that sits in a clear crystal glass lily, so I am hoping silver beads and pearls will llook good. Otherwise I have a purple candle the same size and could do a holder in red, green and purple for that. Sometimes I just give myself too many choices!!!

My screen has been fine today??

Jane

Jane Report 2 Dec 2014 19:52

Frank I had a bag of that Scampi in the freezer. But it must have been in there for a couple of years so I binned it.Good job by the sound of it.
That mattress better flipping fit.I will be in tears if it doesn't .I have just realised I chucked out the old mattress protector so I will be off in the morning to get a new one.
We look like zombies tonight ,and James has come home from work looking really ill.He says he feels like sh** and looks like it..He can't even eat his dinner .Just had half a sausage :-S.The rest is going in the bin.It looks like a bug.Hope he keeps it to himself. He is shivering ,so Im going to shoo him off to bed with a couple of paracetamols and get him away :-D

Mel maybe by the morning your teeth will have settled in and feel more normal.

magpie

magpie Report 2 Dec 2014 20:04

Just seen your post Mel. Do hope your teeth settle. When I had my crowns, one of them was quite proud and impossible to eat with! I had to go back and have it filed down, then it was ok, so I'm sure if yours aren't quite right they can be easily fixed. It'll be lovely not to have to worry about them any more.
The Missing to night! Just hope I can stay awake!!

Hi all

I hope your teeth are ok Mel I'm sure once the injection wears off it'll feel a little better

Yes Jane I managed to catch up with "The Missing" I record it as Sandra likes to watch it but it's on the same time as "I'm a celeb..." I don't like that program but have found a program called "Britains craziest xmas lights I'm going to watch on ch5+1 at 9pm.

Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your bedroom, I made a similar mistake when measuring for our bedroom furniture and didn't realise that the corner wardrobe had to be pulled out slightly from the corner to match up with the wardrobes ether side and because it was going into an alcove hubby had to cut some off the back of one of them so they would fit, luckily there was just enough for him to be able to cut it. He's pretty handy like that so I'm quite lucky, he also had to shave a little off our bedroom door after the carpet had gone down to.

I was so busy yesterday shopping and didn't get back until near 7pm we had a quick tea of egg and chips as I was sooo tired. I ended up going to bed at 9pm and slept right through till 8.30 this morning.

The weather here today was lovely and warm with bright sunshine which I was glad of as I had to walk to the post office to post the present I bought to send to Australia. It cost me £7.90 I thought that was a bit steep as the package wasn't that big or heavy, then I've spent the rest of the day making a start on wrapping up some of the presents I bought yesterday. I haven't had five minutes to myself these last two days.

Well, my program's about to start so I'd better go

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Dec 2014 23:07

Thorougherly enjoyed the film. Reminded me of a lot of things from my childhood even though I was born after the war. Mum was sent to her aunty's. She said she had one of those boxes with a gas mask in it. I think it was Brighton. she liked that aunty very much. I wish she had written down about that.

I tried to explain to Jane in a pm that my top new teeth don't fit with the bottom ones. When I put my teeth together the top ones are inside my mouth and the bottom ones are outside my mouth. When I pull the sides of my cheeks out they line up fine on my right side but I can put my little finger along the left side and on the teeth. Top ones seem straight and don't seem to go in the right shape if you know what I mean. Dentist works from your right side so dos'nt really see what is happening on the far side of her.

Builders here again in the morning early so I must be up and dressed by 8am at the latest. The chap who left to lamb his sheep had to go again for two more in the afternoon.

Signing out now so night night.

magpie Report 3 Dec 2014 07:49

Mel, You'll have to go back to the Dentist about your teeth if they are uncomfortable. You can't have them not fitting properly!
I had a baby's gas mask during the war, it was Mickey Mouse one (apparently!) You put the baby inside the whole mask!! (Poor baby!) and there you had to stay till the all clear! Luckily in Oxford it was never a necessity!
Oh! Here comes my COT!!

Morning Liz and all and evening Kim,

Did'nt wake very early this morning but suddenly heard a saw going and shot out of bed. Heavy frost this morning so it makes it feel more like Christmas is coming. :-D

No pain from the extraction just a bit of a bruised gum where I had the injection or whatever it was in the front. Just going to attempt my first bowl of cereal with the gnasher in.

Have to go to Holsworthy today for chicken food and some milk and coffee as I keep the builders well surplied with hot drinks.

Sunny today and I think that freezing winds has dropped.

Ann what a smashing sharp pick you got of the moon last night. Did you just hold the camera or was it on a tripod?

Frank Report 3 Dec 2014 11:42

Morning all, evening Kim,

You have been busy chatting away the evening last night. !!

Mel That sounded my kind of film. What was it called please ??
I do hope your new gnashers get sorted out soon. I was very lucky with my new ones, they fit like a glove, and I can eat nuts with them now.

I had a reply this morning from YOUN#S regarding the scampi. They missed the point entirely regarding the wording, so I have replied to them again. !!!

I hope you enjoy your film and lunch Jane. Is the bed all made up ready for tonight. ?? Can't your carpenter do something with the wardrobe ??

We have a lovely sunny morning here also, very cold outside, but brilliant sunshine, so it looks nice.

Trust you all have a good day, whatever you might be doing.

May not be around tonight as we are out !!!

Annx

Annx Report 3 Dec 2014 12:13

Morning All,

Hope you enjoy the film Jane, it wasn't quite how I expected it to be, but the acting was good. Not sure I would have liked Mr Turner's lovemaking!!! lol

We went to the retail park down the road after we scraped frost off the car. We used various vouchers and gift cards for a spree in W H S*ith, so I got a book on painting and some ink artist pens and OH got the book of Les Miserables. Then I got fudge for me at Christmas and choccies for MIL at the T*orntons shop. Then I took things back to B*S and we used a voucher for 20% off in the restaurant and had 2 lovely bacon butties. :-)

I just held the camera very steady to get the moon pic Mel. It was a very clear night which helped. I might try it with a tripod another time though and see if it comes out clearer.......that is if I can find the tripod!!! lol. It doesn't sound as if they have got your new teeth right at all......I would go back.

Hope you enjoy your night out Frank.......watch what you eat, you don't want to be visiting your white friend.

We've got workmen down the side of the bungalow at the moment. They are fitting aluminium guttering like ours to the bungalow nextdoor. We had ours done 4 years ago and it's been brilliant as it will hold much more water than the original guttering and is very neat with no brackets showing.

The neighbour, part of whose front garden the builder has put as his on the planning application, says his solicitor has established that it does not belong to the builder at all and is definitely his. The trouble is the neighbour may have the cost of taking out an injunction to stop him!! Otherwise it may be a good idea to build a wall along the boundary. Then if the builder knocked that down they could sue him for criminal damage. How awful you you have the cost of stopping someone taking what is rightfully yours though!!! :-S :-S If the builder digs the road up, I think we have to build walls too to stop him encroaching and taking part of our garden to widen the road which is narrower than on his plan.

Afternoon all,

No frost here first thing, we have had a little sun but now it's just started to rain , i have a feeling hubby will be home soon as he's out working on a roof .

Mel, i would go back and see if they can do some thing with your new teeth ,they shouldn't be like that ,if you leave it they might rub and give you a very sore mouth and you don't want that over Christmas .

Lovely clear photo of the moon Ann, it looks almost like there's snow on the moon . :-D
I meant to say i've knitted three of those little hats ,just added a few more stitches for the bigger children .

Have a lovely evening Frank.

Oh i think that's hubby .
