I hope the test is ok for oh Liz. It must certainly be a worry but the weeks seem to be passing quickly for me but I bet not for Ian this week now.
Liz as to Supple I quite like that!! :-D :-D Think thats what I shall call it in the future. :-)
Fish was lovely tonight but the pong lingers............ :-(
Frank the gun is all ready outside the back door, loaded and waiting.
MUST REMEMBER TO REMIND FRANK TO RING THE DOCTOR IN THE MORNING. <3
Your lunch out sounded just wonderfull and I can see you all enjoyed it very much. Just wish I was nearer and could join you......
Going to watch DCI Banks now so saying goodnight all see you in the morning.

Hello all,
How fortunate for Ann and Jane to live close enough to be able to meet up. Glad you had a good time together.
I hope Gill soon feels better. The winter weather can be pretty depressing can't it, and you've had so much stress on top of that. Roll on some sunshine for you.
My sister and I volunteered to teach some ladies at church how to knit. They also want to learn to crochet, but, after tonight, which was our first meeting, I doubt very much that they'll get past casting on :-D :-D :-D We had a good time though. I think we had about 15 ladies there, and they were all pretty useless. I hope they'll persevere though because our hopes are to knit and crochet items for preemie babies to donate to hospitals.
I have an appt. tomorrow to see my family doc., so am anxious to see my weight because I feel that I have lost a few pounds. I will also get the results of my bloodwork taken two weeks ago, so I do wonder if the healthy eating diet that I've been on since early Jan. has made any difference, especially to my cholesterol. I've scarcely cheated - still no sugar or flour. Plenty of fruit and veg. and a little meat and cheese.
I hope Ian soon gets some antibiotics for his problem. I feel for him - I find it devastates me when I get an infection. I've been taking a low dose antibiotic for several years, but the urologist recently took me off them because I had another infection, which means that the bacteria are now immune to the med. I think I've explained that right.
FRANK, don't forget to ring the doctor.!!!
:-D :-D :-D

Morning all and evening Kim,
Nice morning today but still very cold out.
I need to do a big shop today so I think I will go to Bideford and probably this morning. I shall not be letting the bantams out today at all. The big girls I can't shut in. There is only 9 of them now anyway and one of those dos'nt look too good bless her but she has lived a better life with me than she would have had if I had'nt recued her and would have been long dead by now. The bantams hav'nt started to lay yet this year. I am sure they were laying in Feb last year. Perhaps they are just getting too old now too.
Ruby has been good to lose weight and has been v ery good with herself. I would'nt have that willpower. Maybe I would if I were on my own and had'nt to cook for oh.
I think Ruby should award herself two **.

Much better night! Went to bed after watching DCI Banks, both of us went out like lights, and woke at 645! No having to get out in the night, so we both look and feel better! Mel, Ian's very good about waiting for test results, he got so used to it during his prostate episode, and since then he has a blood test every six months, as well as X-Ray's at the drop of a hat for chest infection's (two this winter!) and other things that crop up from time to time! Before the cancer, he was he sort of person who never had a days illness, but sadly not anymore. He is very active though, and gets bored easily which can be a problem if he's not well! But there you go, we take things a bit day by day and try to stay positive. Thanks Jane for your suggestion, I may gut get some Cranberry Juice as well!! It's not very nice though, so might be a waste of money!!! :-| Not a bad morning, so better get on!

Ruby ,you must be pleased with your weight loss.I seem stuck at the moment :-S.Mind you these meals out don't help lol..Must be tougher with myself.it is a low cal day today. Bet the girls won't be happy being shut in today Mel..But better safe than sorry :-D
DOCTORS FRANK :-D
Good to hear a good nights sleep was had last night for you both Liz..I actually had quite a disturbed night with not so nice dreams :-S
Chris has just gone off with the Lawn Mower for it's yearly service.it usually takes a week or so for it to come back as the chap is always so busy at this time of year.
I am going to the little Garden shop (where we got our latest logs) as the man told me if I could let him know roughly how many really wet logs we had he will give me a few nets of logs from the shop.I think I will have to make up a number as it is impossible to be very accurate.
It is quite a pleasant morning here ,not too sunny at the moment though.I might get some washing out :-D See you later

Afternoon all, I have only just opened the thread, so missed my reminders, and NOW the Drs is closed till 2.30 pm for lunch. So will ring this afternoon, if I don't forget. # I have been in the garden since 9.30 am. Both lawns have had TWO CUTS and the front edges trimmed, will do the back tomorrow. I have weeded my VEG patch. Got the rotervator (sp) and the B ####y thing wouldn't start. I think it might be a fuse in the plug. Just as well really as I am totally knackered. Will look at that tomorrow also. THANK goodness we have tomorrows.
Nice that you are giving your time to teaching the women to knit. Ruby. I thought all women /girls learnt to knit as children. ?? Ros is everlasting knitting for anyone who asks. I sent one of her knitted scarves to KIM a year or so ago. She is still knitting for Jan's daughters baby that's due in May.
Ros drinks Cranberry juice when she has water works problems, she finds it works for her.
Mandy you just bought back a memory. When my X was expecting our first 1963. I tried making BARLEY WATER. I boiled the Barley and as it boiled it expanded !! To say the least I ended up with a great BIG saucepan of barley, and never got around to making barley water. It was so stodgy , it got thrown away.
You girls seems to have enjoyed your time at M.H. The meals sounded nice also.
One complaint about DCI Banks. WHY do they need to play music in the background when they are talking. It is so distracting :-P :-P :-P It seems more and more drama programmes have this constant music in the background. It drives me MAD.
Glad you and Ian had a good night Liz, I was still awake at 3.00 am got out to the toilet, then dropped off and slept till 8.00
Hope you made your list Mel, nothing like forgetting things, when you need them.
I am home alone today. Madam is at "Stitchery Do" won't be home till 4.00ish
We try to make a list for things we need as we go along. This morning I noticed she has put HONEY. I know I emptied a jar yesterday, but we still have TWO in the cupboard.
I didn't have breakfast this morning as it wouldn't have settled with me gardening and bending over, so I am going to get something now, with a coffee.

It seems to be a problem with warfarin Mandy, but apart from that seems to be ok. Neither of us is on warfarin so should be ok. I shall check with the surgery though so thanks for that info. Very windy here today so we're not going far. You reminded me Jane, I need to make an appointment for my hair, it's looking a real mess, think I need to have it shorter again as it's so much easier o keep.

Had a nice mixed seafood sandwich at lunchtime with a coffee.
Clouds are beginning to build up now, so glad I got the lawns done. If I don't get chance to do the edges on the back lawn it won't matter too much.
Just going to settle down to a bit of NAT. GEO. before madam comes home and disturbs me !!!!
How's the girl with the hair colour looking (BRIGHT PINK with GREY STREAKS) :-D :-D :-D. Which reminds me I NEED A HAIRCUT !!!
See you later.

I hope Shirls Nieces have arrived safely in Canada now ready for the big Birthday Bash :-D :-D.Hopefully the snow hasn't caused any problems for them.
Fiona ,you won't know yourselves now ,what with your new suite and Dishwasher :-D I expect you will be remembering your dear Dad with fondness today <3
It is blooming freezing.I though it was supposed to be warmer today.I have lit the fire (and burnt a little hole in the rug) :-S..Not that I am bothered as it will be chucked out once we finish using the fire once the weather warms up. I think a cup of tea is in order now.I'm parched.

I was going to suggest Barley Water Liz but see Mandy beat me to it.
18 year old granddaughter is my eldest's daughter they live in Bedford so too far for a get together and daughter with birthday is being taken out for a Chinese with her partner and the other nannie is babysitting Harry and Chloe.
Have been over to keep Bella amused whilst son and d-i-l pack up more things, we are off tomorrow and I'll be up there a week with son with my decorator's hat on so won't be on the computer for a while.
Your meal sounded really scrumptious, is that a word from Mary Poppins!!! I would have gone for the almond tart too Ann, who knows maybe next year I might be joining you. Meanwhile it'll be takeaways most of next week, although eldest daughter has invited us for dinner Sunday.
Be good everyone, or as my old dad used to say ............if you can't be good, be careful .................... Don't overdo it Frank, sounds like you've done a lot already in the garden and I'll be back in just over a week. <3

Oh Yes Barley Water .Mum always swore by that for Cystitis.I remember looking for it once for Hannah but could only find Barley plus some other flavour .Not just plain good old Barley Water.
Today is the first time in my life I will not be having bottled milk delivered.(end of an era :-( )..We decided that it is costing so much more to keep having it delivered, and it makes more sense just to get it from the supermarket. It will be quite nice though not to have to have lots of glass empties to put out :-D.We have been talking about cancelling it for ages now .I feel a bit guilty really .
Frank i think you are the first person I know to have cut the grass so far this year. Your pic shows your lawn looking good :-D
Maureen sounds like the next week will be a busy one for you.Bet you will be sick of takeaways by the time you get back again lol Back to your salads :-D.But thank goodness for takeaways .What did we do before them ??
Mel I can still smell Smoked Haddock in my kitchen.I think the oven could probably do with a bit of a wipe out.The pong really does hang about (like a bad smell lol)
I'm sure there was something else I wanted to say ...but it's gone :-S :-S

Afternoon All,
We went to the fav carvery today, but I didn't have that much as I still wasn't hungry after tucking in yesterday!! What's this grey Jane, I never noticed any yesterday so there can't be much. The other day OH reckoned his beard is 50 shades of grey now!! lol.
Well done Ruby and I hope the scales show a nice drop in weight for you. I seem to have put a few pounds ON up to now this year, whereas I was losing it this time last year. :-S Hopefully I shall get stuck in again next week after OH's birthday meal. Like last year, I am determined to be a bit lighter than the year before when we go away. It really helped with knees and getting hot climbing about when walking. OH says he's had to let his belt out a notch so he will keen to lose a bit as well.
That's not good Ian having to wait and suffer symptoms for a week while he waits for the results Liz.. I tried to persuade MIL to have cranberry juice when she had a lot of problems, but she didn't like it so that was the end of that. I seem to remember it being more for prevention though so meant taking it all the time and she would never have done that.
Mel, my friend that keeps chickens said last week that she had only just had her first egg this year. I hope you can get rid of the fox(es) soon. You don't want to have to keep everything shut in all the while when all the spring greens will be growing for them to eat. Yes, it would be nice if you could join us for lunch as well. At the rate huge amounts of building is going on around here at the edge of every village who knows we may end up nearer to you in the future!!
Frank, I can't believe John making a remark like that. Most women are slim till they get married and it is cooking and eating the things men like to please them that causes women to put weight on. He's asking for slim pickings to be served up now isn't he!!! lol. Well, you've put me to shame again, out in the garden already and doing things and I haven't done anything yet. :-S I did get some Anthirrinum seeds last week though and couldn't believe how much they cost!
I hope you are soon well again Gill so you will be ok to do the viewing and any others that crop up.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new series of Supervet tonight and will be recording Banished on at the same time which is about the Australian convicts. I have a couple of distant cousins way back in my tree that were tailors and were sent there for committing highway robbery.

Ann,if you were sat opposite me yesterday I'm sure you would have noticed all my grey lol.Espscially the side bits around my ears lol.I think because my hair is so thick it maybe isn't so noticeable to others .BUT I can see it .Especially when I have washed it and it's wet.But all sorted now for the next few months :-D :-D.
I wish I could find some villains in my ancestors :-D.I would love that :-D.I think Fitz had a good one with his Step Grandfather on trial at the Old Bailey for being Gay !! and procuring young men LOL. I won't watch the Super Vets programme as I know it will make my upset.I'm such a wimp when it comes to animals.I love 24hours in A&E etc .I had to laugh last night at he GP practice prog. Some of the patients were just so comical..I did notice that one of the GP's is called Dr Rose !!!!(but female) I did watch a programme on catch up about 2 families being made homeless.Single Mums with children. It was heartbreaking to see how the children suffered being moved from one place to another and how hard it was on the Mothers. They tried their hardest to do the best they could for their children.
Car going back to the garage tomorrow morning .I really hope they can sort out the problem as to why it keeps pulling to the left.It won't be doing the tyres any good :-S Chris will follow meet me at he garage to bring me home.I have told him I want to stop off at B&* on the way back to get some more colour cards for the Hall ,stairs and landing.Oh decisions decisions :-| :-|
Gill I hope you aren't feeling any worse today with your sore throat and earache.

Yes we're looking forward to Super Vets, he is such a clever chap and does wonders for animals with serious problems. I don't think you would find it too much Jane, the outcomes are usually positive and the joy on the faces of the owners are just wonderful. Yes it's a pain (literally) Ann. Trouble is that Ian took a sample down to the surgery immediately the problem reared up, just labelled it explained the situation and handed it to the Nurse. Getting an immediate appointment at our surgery is not easy, and Ian (like your in laws) is happier seeing his usual GP, as it saves having to explain this and that to someone else, so unless it's dire he's prepared to wait!! It's his choice!!!! He seems a bit better this evening, and hasn't lost his appetite!! Hope they manage to sort your car Jane, it's so annoying when this sort of thing happens particularly with a new car!!!
