Morning all and evening KIm,

Bright morning again but still windy with clouds scudding across the blue sky at the moment.

Slept like a log last night arose whilst dark for a visit to the loo then went straight to sleep again and woke at 10am........................was cross and I wish he would wake me before then but he lets me sleep and creeps about so he dos'nt wake me.

Morning All,

A lovely sunny start here and OH has put the washing out so I'll start another load in a minute. It's good it's dry and fine and means I won't need an umbrella or even a coat to meet up with Jane and Fitz. I've just been lightening the load in my bag, I seem to accumulate far too much in there and don't want to pull out a load of tissues and goodness knows what else getting to my purse! Yes Mel, we'll be reporting back later on! I'd better go and check I have change for the car park next and get changed myself. Enjoy this lovely day if you all have it as well and behave Frank, no getting up steps or into mischief!! BBL

Morning all

Bright and sunny here today but still very cold.

Sorry to hear of all your troubles William but glad to hear things are finally going right for you.

Hope everything went well at the dentist Jane <3

How lovely Fiona to have new sofa's and chairs, it seems ages since you ordered them. You'll look all posh now. Pity the children couldn't of had a play in the empty room before the furniture arrived, they would of had such fun.

It's horrible when you can't sleep Mel isn't it. I've had a week of it and it's throws your body clock out. I've been so tired lately. Hope you manage to get a good nights sleep soon.

I don't have a dishwasher, never have, so I do all my dishes by hand. Most of the time there's only Sandra and I so there's never really many dishes to do, so it's not a problem not having a dishwasher.

The heating seems to be ok for now, although I've not put the heating on much. The hot water doesn't seem to be as hot since the plumber came round, he turned the temperature dial down a bit and I'm worried if we turn it back up the boiler might leak again so we're making do at the moment as some hot water is better than none.

I've started with a sore throat and ear ache these past two days and I've been so dizzy. I went to my mum's yesterday to see how she was, the doctor has told her to keep some jelly babies in the car and house incase she has a hypo. Apparently, according to the doctor that's what she had the other day. I've been so worried about her, but apart from being a bit tired she's seems ok now.

The Agent rang a few minutes ago for me to do a viewing either today or tomorrow but when I told him I wasn't well he said he would book it in for next week, so I assume they weren't in a position to buy if they can wait another week until I'm better again. I seem to be getting one bug after another lately. Getting a bit fed up of it now.

Off to get a drink, see if that will help my sore throat.
BBL <3

just noticed your posts Mel and Ann

Have a lovely day out Ann, hope the weather stays dry for you all. Good idea to sort your bag out before you head off.

Glad to hear you had a better nights sleep last night Mel. Your OH probably thought you needed the extra sleep with not sleeping very well the night before.

Going to get that cuppa now

Frank Report 4 Mar 2015 11:20

Morning all, evening Kim..

So much for my early night. I did lay and have a read, turned the light out at 11.00 pm Ros came in at 1.00 am and I was still awake. Finally I got up at 3.30 and sat in the armchair and read. I must have dropped off, because at 5.15 Ros came and woke me up and said Come and get into Bed. I slept until 8.30 and fely like a wet week.

Nice bright day out there, but sooooo COLD. I was going to get the veg parch cleared this morning, but I don't want to get a chill, bending over weeding, as my jumper always works up my back.

Have a nice lunch girls, don't eat too much.

Here's a story for you. John said to Carolyn " I have never seen you looking so fat as you do lately" She was so dumbstruck she didn't have an answer for him. She is only 9 stone, which at 70 I don't think is bad. I wouldn't dare say something like that to any woman let alone my WIFE. She would skin me alive :-D :-D :-D

I went out and felt the lawn this morning, if this wind continues and we have a dry night, it might be ready for the first cut. I hate to see my lawns tatty.

Might have a look in our local "VILLAGE HELP" to see if there is anyone out there that can empty my pond and get it prepared again to have fish. If not I might consider filling it in, but what would the frogs do ;-) ;-) ;-)

magpie Report 4 Mar 2015 11:31

Feeling a bit washed out today. Ian up in the night at 12oclock, 3.30 and 6.30!! Cloudy wee and burning!! Both up by 8o'clock, breakfast, then Ian off to the surgery with a sample!!! Now waiting for GP to phone to say what's what!
Windy and sunny today, not too cold so I MIGHT clean some windows as they're very dirty and the sun shows every mark!
Your in-laws certainly sound a worry Ann. It's so difficult when people get 'more mature'(!) Our two are already making vague plans for us as we're now beginning to look at old age!! Plans for a granny annex have been floated, also sheltered accommodation! I suppose it's better to plan ahead than be confronted with a problem if and when doolalyness (is that a word?!!) takes over!! but you never think it will be you!

Have just read your post Frank! I should think Carolyn was dumbfounded even if it were true it would be a tactless unkind comment to make! I expect he lived to regret it!!!!!

Frank

Frank Report 4 Mar 2015 12:42

I'm sure he will Liz. By all accounts he started again this morning. She said "JUST HOLD IT THERE" have you looking in the mirror lately ??? He is about 5 ft 4 inches and is now in XXL shirts because of his stomach. He waddles around like a little BUDDAH !!! POT CALLING THE KETTLE COMES TO MIND. But Carolyn is not FAT.

I did all the windows a couple of weeks ago, but with all the wind and rain no doubt will need doing again anytime soon.

The wind is still very cold, so I am not going in the garden today.

I hope Ian's wee test comes back O.K. Liz, it seems that as we get older more and more things seem to go wrong with us. !!! That reminds me I must phone the Doctor. On my latest prescription they ask me to mare an appointment for a review. I also need to make an appointment for my injection.

Maureen

Maureen Report 4 Mar 2015 14:20

Enjoy your lunch Ann and Jane, it maybe cold out but at least it's bright and dry.

Oh my word Frank, he's lucky to be still standing after that remark to Carolyn. that is probably the worse thing you could say to a woman.

Hope all is well with Ian Liz. Sounds like we could all do with a bit of warm sunshine. You are probably a bit run down Gill with the stress of selling the bungalow and the worry with your mum, maybe a tonic would help.

It's my daughter's birthday today and my granddaughter's too, she is 18 today doesn't seem that long ago she was just a baby.

magpie

magpie Report 4 Mar 2015 15:27

I think we're all reeling from that comment Frank!!! Whatever possessed him? Too much sun?!!!!
You're right about us needing some fine warm weather Maureen. I think we all do as everyone seems to be 'thoroughly run down' as my mother used to say.
Goodness, your granddaughter is quite grown up at 18! Our eldest, Polly, is 15 at the end of this month, and like you it only seems yesterday that she was a baby!
Nothing from the surgery yet!! I think we shall have to go down there later to see if they have the results. Our surgery is ok, but far far too small for the area it has to cover. The doctors (3) only work part-time(!!!) They're very good...but at times seem snowed under! A new health centre has been on the cards for years, and that's where it seems to be staying!!Mind you, we could live in the Ukraine or Syria, so I suppose we have a lot to be grateful for!

magpie Report 4 Mar 2015 16:37

Just back from the surgery, but no news! The sample has been sent away and we won't get the results for up to a week!! Ian told the receptionist that he'd either be better or dead by then!!! Don't think she was amused!!
Must peel some spuds for supple.

Jane Report 4 Mar 2015 18:19

Afternoon All

I feel quite full still after our lovely lunch...It was good to see Ann again, and it didn't seem like a whole year since we last met up.Fitz was in full flow LOL and had us in stitches much of the time.Heaven knows what the other customers thought.Especially when he dropped the F word in a few times !!!!
Lunch was very good as usual.I had Chicken and Chestnut Terrine with a Tarragon Chutney. The main course was Pork Loin with Sage and wrapped with Parma Ham.I just can't think of the name of it(saltambucco ) or something like that.We all had that for our main course .Ann will be much better at describing everything than me..My Desert sounded delicious but it was just about 3 white Chocolate truffle balls dipped in a ?raspberry powdery stuff.A few Raspberries ,drizzle of a white chocolate and the best bit was a Basil flavoured ice thing (a bit like minute bits of crushed ice.Slush puppyish (if you know my meaning).Ann had Almond Tart with a nice dob of clotted cream and Fitz had Bread and Butter pudding. It was 3pm by the time we left the restaurant !! A lovely few hours :-D :-D

Oh Frank .Is Carolyn talking to John ?????..I don't think I would be.He could have been a bit more diplomatic at least.

Liz.You can get those sachets for Cystitis They might help Ians symptoms until he gets the results through from his sample.Gallons of fluids too.I hope you both have a less disturbed night tonight <3

Mel you were telling us about that Wet and Forget stuff a while ago.....We have had some arrive in the post today :-D

Maureen I hope both your Daughter and Grand daughter have had had lovely birthdays today..Is it Mother and Daughter ?

Oh Gill not another sore throat.Maybe you are run down and more susceptible to all the bugs still doing the rounds. It wasn't long ago that your OH was under the weather was it.Maybe you have picked it from him again.
Hopefully you will be back on form for the viewing next week.

Good idea for your Mum to keep some sweets handy...If I had a bag of Jelly Babies they wouldn't last more than a few minutes !!..It will be a huge relief for you to know she is better again now.

I am not cooking anything tonight.Chris and James are fending for themselves :-D :-D

Just had the fox round by the bantams and they were out!! They kicked up a stink so I went out there and saw it in the field behind our wall down by Prickly Hollow. It ran and oh got the gun but by the time he had it it was gone.

Jane we have smoked haddock tonight so our house will stink of fish tomorrow too. I hav'nt told oh yet..... :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Liz what are you having for SUPPLE????????

Annx

Annx Report 4 Mar 2015 19:50

Me too Jane.....I don't want anything more to eat at all today and I didn't have anything before I went out either. Yes it was great to meet up again and have a good chat with a lovely meal. We had the toasted cheesy garlic breads first. (OH was drooling when I told him about those! lol) I had mushrooms as my starter with maple ham and a delicious sauce and Foccacia bread. I think Fitz had the scallops. The Aligot? potatoes in our main course had melted cheese in them and were tastefully arranged in 3 oval scoops with garnish sprigs. Jane's desert with the white chocolate bonbons came on a granite tile, so she did well not to knock any off the edge onto the table. Yes Fitz told it how it was when describing an experience he had and what a man had said (complete with the expletives!). He did a very good imitation of his DIL's Italian grandparents, complete with 'waving arms' too! lol. I think we were about the last to leave. Jane's new car is smashing too!!

Will catch up with the posts tomorrow as OH wants to watch the GP prog now.

Well you seemed to have had a nice lunch girls. I have never eaten in M. H. I did go to the pub at the top of the hill on the left. Can't think of the name though.

Was going down the pub for football, but feel so tired, I couldn't be bothered.

I thought that a sample could be tested by the doctor, not have to be sent away for a week. Ian's comment was something I would have said !!!

New Inspector Banks tonight, so lets hope that is better than the rest of this evenings Television.

Maureen how strange is this. My elder TWIN brother and sister are 80 years old today. Haven't been in touch with my sister in over 38 years and my brother 6 years. But doesn't stop me thinking of them on their birthdays.

Mr/Mrs Fox are pushing their luck aren't they Mel, You should make sure the GUN is on hand at all times.

Did you see on the news tonight that an estate just outside Newmarket, are selling squirrel as fast as they can get supplies. Restaurants are screaming out for them and Jo Public are queuing outside the shop each morning. It appears that RABBITS aren't breading very fast, and squirrel is taking over for the supply. !!!

See you all in the morning. Will someone remind me to ring the doctor. I didn't do it today. THANKS

Supper Mel!!!!! Frank, Ian always has to have tests sent away ever since he had prostate cancer. It's a precaution, and is always a worry.
