The seminar sounded great Liz. Hope it answered all the questions for you both. Fancy James Dyson funding the new Cancer centre, what a lovely thing to do. Like you said, it's a pity more wealthy businessmen/women aren't the same. £1 a day, that's a good price for your parking and one less thing to worry about as the costs can be so high nowadays.
It's still quite cool here today and windy which is very welcomed by OH and I. I managed to sleep reasonably well last night and only woke up a few times feeling hot, but that could be my age as well as the weather. It was lovely sitting outside with my morning cuppa today.

There's nothing I can do in the front garden until OH has taken all the roots and rock hard clay soil out so I'm going to do a bit more of my family tree. I had intended on doing it the other day but ended up doing housework instead.

I've just noticed Frank and Mel haven't been on here yet, it's not like them. I hope everything is okay <3

Morning all,

I'm here Gill just late on parade as I had a good lie in this morning.

Its cloudy here this morning and much cooler thank goodness. They did say we may have rain in the night but nothing appeared so the garden still needs a good drink.

Gill your plant probably had lead in its pot to give it weight so it did'nt blow over. Rhodo's should be in acid soil like peat so the weight would help in the bottom. If any plant is going to need a fungal treatment it is a Rhodo and you should use a different one each year as they get used to it.

Liz it was good you enjoyed the seminar but its a shame James Dyson dos'nt give his customers their money back on something they have bought and can't use. I bought a Dyson vac and have had the engineers down three times without any luck. Its had a new everything it can have and it still won't work in my house. It cost me £300 all but a penny and was brilliant for the first few months then it started knocking the leccy out every time I turned it on. So I shan't be buying a Dyson ever again. I did notice on the telly they said they were not making the uprights anymore just the cordless so perhaps I was not the only one who it happened to.

Frank Report 4 Jul 2018 12:21

Good morning to all, The reason I am late is because Ros decided to have the three piece suite out into the middle of the room, so she could hoover behind it. You would not believe the number of this little upside down spiders there were, and the cobwebs hanging from the backs of the chairs and sofa. You would think it hadn't been touched in years. We are un-indated with th little blighters, normally in the porch cupboard.!!!

I didn't eat before going to the pub. Good job too, The landlady bought out two big trays of homemade SPRING ROLLS, straight from the oven. They were the best I have ever tasted. They were over six inches long and as round as a CUCUMBER . Because I haven't eaten they went down a treat. I ended up eating SEVEN. There were still some left when we went home. Needless to say I didn't eat when I got home.

Glad everything was good at the seminar Liz, it must help put your mind at rest having everything explained ro you. That is also a good concession on the parking fees. Not often do you get that from Hospital Parking ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jane I wouldn't worry about your white legs. It's better that you are comfortable in the heat.

I just couldn't do what your OHs are doing Mel/Gill. I have a job just doing little jobs around the garden. This is why we are having BARRY every couple of weeks for two hours. If I find we don't need him so often, I can always change it.

It certainly was an exciting end to what I thought was a boring match. The REF. didn't show any authority during the match. The Columbians were fouling our boys so often. There should have been at least two or three red cards.

Ros's God Daughter is being admitted to the THREE SHIRES HOSPITAL today to have apiece of bone growth removed on her shoulder. Ros is going to pop in and see her this afternoon, when she has settled in. She then has to have a KNEE REPLACEMENT But not for a few weeks. Ros is taking the little set of wheels I used for exercising, after my knee replacement, for her to use after.

Looks like being another hot one this afternoon, So I will either be indoors or in the shade reading. There isn't that nice breeze we had yesterday either.

Simon rang this morning, checking up on Ros's progress. It's his 3rd wedding anniversary on the 15th, and his birthday on the 19th So a couple of days to celebrate.

Well perhaps you were just unlucky Mel. Did you report it to Trading Standards? We've had three Dysons and they've all been first class. We've now got a rechargeable as they're very light weight and much easier to use after my hip saga. M has our rollerball one for his cottage. The Dyson factory is only a couple of miles from us and they couldn't have been more helpful when we went there for some info, so for us they're the one we'd always go for.
Hot here, washing drying a treat, OH doing the trailer lights!

Gillx Report 4 Jul 2018 14:01

If your Dyson stopped working properly after just a few months Mel you should of asked for your money back when they couldn't fix it. £300 is a lot of money if you can't use the hoover. We've had Dyson hoovers in the past and found them to be very reliable, OH has one to hoover the car. I have a Vax at the moment as it's a carpet cleaner as well as a hoover, so suits me.

Hope all goes well with Ros's goddaughter today Frank. That was nice of Ros to take the set of wheels to her for when she has her hip operation. You were lucky with the spring rolls at the pub with you not having anything to eat. It sounds like they went down a treat. Lots of celebrations for Simon coming up I see :-) It's my OH's birthday in the middle of those dates (17th July)

Sandra's helping her dad take some rubbish down the tip, there is quite a lot so she offered to help him, which I thought was nice of her......she's very thoughtful sometimes.

I found some old programmes of "Bullseye" last night so recorded them. I'm watching them now. Some of the prizes bring back memories from when I was a child. The TV's are massive though, compared with the ones of today, they're certainly not flat screen ones, that's for sure. ;-) :-D

Bunnyboo Report 4 Jul 2018 14:27

I used to have a Vax Gill, primarily to as a carpet cleaner, but after goodness knows how many years of good service it developed a nasty noise and that was that!!
Obviously if a machine doesn't work properly and the company is difficult about a refund then Trading Standards will always sort it out. We had trouble like that with a dishwasher years ago and we reported the company and low and behold, it was sorted, satisfactorily so it's always worth going to the trouble!
OH has finished, and wants us to go out with Cas! So best away!!

Good afternoon all

Had the Sainsbury visit a day earlier as we are off on holiday Friday and Sainsbury will be delivering to the holiday home mostly breakfast food as we tend to eat out or get takeaways there are five of us going Paul, Richard, Becky, Abbie and myself with Ruby as well of course. We are staying at the Old Orchard, Melbury Osmond, Dorset.

Pleased to hear the seminar went well Liz and hope it was helpful for you and your OH. When I was having my cancer treatment Chemo and radiotherapy Peter didn't have to pay any parking charges but we had a written and signed card to show on the windscreen.

I have had two Dysons without any trouble but have a GTECH rechargeable now plus a hand held one of the same make.

All though I'm not a great fan of football I was very pleased when England won yesterday.

Frank those spring rolls must have been delicious for you to eat 7 hopefully with no after effects. I was surprised that Ros has been moving furniture in this hot weather naughty girl. I hope her goddaughter's Op goes well

Done some cleaning before lunch then had lunch and oh called to me to get my camera.

He took me over to the little tiny pond where he had seen dragonfly lava and has been watching to see if they hatch. There on the leaves around the little puddle was three dead husks where the dragonflies had emerged so he missed it three times!! at least.

I took a pick of two of them which I must save for the boys nature table at school.

Well Barry has been and gone. He was at Tony's for an hour, then knocked on our door to ask " DO YOU NEED AN HOUR" in that time he cut and trimmed both lawns and trimmed the front hedge. £12.50. It's hardly worth me doing it myself at that price. He will be back in two weeks. He is such a clean worker, he picked up all the leaves from th front garden. Our bin is full to overflowing, so he put my rubbish in Tony's bin.

Ros has just gone off to B & Q it's 10% off day for OAPs She needs a new tin of paint for the shed. She will then go on to see Kim. (god daughter).

I will start watering this evening while her soaps are on. They way we will both be happy !!!!

Enjoy your holiday Anne in case you don't have time to pop in before you go. I think we might get a bit of rain tomorrow, then back to sunshine, so you should be alright.

Our Dyson is a rechargeable one. The only complaint Ros has is that it runs out of charge after about 20 minutes. We had had it serviced the other week, and it only needed a new filter. So I think the battery might need replacing.

Still a very nice afternoon out there. I see there is NO football tonight. (WHAT WILL I DO ) ???

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 4 Jul 2018 16:51

Frank it depends which model you've got as to the battery life! We've got a D6 which is only supposed to have a battery life of 20 mins! A D8, however, has a 40 min life! Ours is fine for our bungalow, but in a bigger house would barely be enough.
We took Cas to see the little spaniel who lives in the farm at the back of us and is a carbon copy of her!. He'll be out with the shoot in the autumn so it'll be nice if they recognise each other. They had a good play, and she's now crashed out!!
Chicken in tomato, basil and garlic sauce with rice! nice and easy!!

Afternoon Everyone

Anne I just googled the Old Orchard and it looks a lovely house, nice and airy and with such a lovely garden. I think I spotted a tiny stream too. Ruby is going to have great fun there. The weather is going to be hot so will there maybe be a BBQor 2 :-D. I hope you are now feeling back on form again and ready to enjoy your holiday with the family.

Frank,£12.50 was a bargain.I think you have found just the right man. As you say for that kind of price why put yourself through such hard work (and no doubt do yourself a mischief ;-) )

I am having such a problem with those spiders .Where do they all come from!!!!.Everywhere I look there are some hanging, even though I might have swept there.I am going to have to look behind my settee now which is up against a wall.I dread to think now what I will find there :-S

Mel I had a Dragon Fly on my hand the other evening. It was only a small and not colourful. It was on the kitchen sill outside and looked very dozy,so I managed to nudge it onto my thumb where it stayed for a while before finally flying off.

Nice for Cas to have a friend at the Shoots Liz :-D. They sound like they got on really well together. Is that her out for the count for the day now :-D

It has gone all cloudy here and it feels a bit oppressive, but I don't think we are forecast any rain.

I am incredibly achey today especially my back so haven't really done much at all .Chris juat sprayed some of that Deep Freeze stuff all over my lower back. I though I would give that a go today rather than the Ibuprofen Gel.I think it actually might be starting to work :-)

Mandy I meant to say that the recipe for the Southern Fried Chicken sounds delish.Do you actually have a recipe (like with amounts of things).I would quite like give it a try.

Got a wasp here .I need to get it out !!!

Anne it looks a nice place to stay in Dorset i hope your feeling better now and have a really enjoyable stay .

The pork was really lovely tonight and so were the cornish new pots.

Did you get rid of the wasp Jane?

Frank that was good you had Barry turn up and give a hand and you like his work. Its good when they are nice and tidy. Does he do Tony's front garden?

Early birds again! We've a busy day ahead of us so need to get on.
L has just phoned to tell us (quickly!) that P has been offered a provisional place at an American University! As you can imagine we're all clock-a-hoop especially OH! It's boosted his spirits no end!, She may not take it of course as she is now talking about studying forensics in the police force, she's a clever girl so who knows! but its a good start for her and to our day! :-D

Good morning Liz and all,

Beat you to it this morning Liz, I woke at 4.30 am was wide awake so got up. I have had FOUR COT and been reading my book

What a nice surprise for P to get that offer xxx Many congratulations, even if she doesn't take it, it would look good on her CV.

I'm not sure of the Dyson model. (I only bought it) lol But will have a look.

Glad Cas has found a new friend, they will surely remember each other come th shooting season.

Mel, I have not seen Tony's garden so tidy. Apart from all the buttercups ,clover etc in his lawns. Once they are cut they look very tidy, even the lawn edges are tidy. One of the flower beds has actually been planted out. I water it every night when I do mine.I only mentioned it to Ros last night "That it is nice having a nice garden next door" lol

Jane, Those little upside down spiders, seem to get everywhere. Ros walks round th bungalow looking at the ceilings expecting to see the Bugg@@s hanging there.

When I fished a lot, in the summer Dragon Flies would settle on the tip of my float. It was so finely balanced the float would sink under the water, they would fly off and come back when it reemerged. I spent hours watching them.

I have just woke Ros, as sh has to be out for 10.00 am to"Stitchery do." Then tonight it's the CHOIR.

I will go and get her a COT. see you later.

Morning All,

Another bright morning here and I think its going to be another hot day by the feel of it outside. I must put the washing machine on this morning. I hav'nt really had much in the way of washing to do over the last couple of days just some undies and t shirts so it has'nt been worth putting the machine on.

Thats lovely about P Liz as Frank said should look good on her CV. Are you still not watching Outlander? its got much better since they got back to Scotland. I have watched the second series again. I am on program 9.

Must get on as I have to catch the post van today.

Just quickly else I'll be in trouble!! Thank you Frank and Mel. Frank I only know about the Dyson because L told us before we bought it and what she felt we needed!!!! Needless to say she has a superior model!! It tells you on the long cleaning tube what the model number is!!
No Mel, we're not watching Outlander any more! We just couldn't get to grips with them in France!! We might give it another go at sometime. Loving Poldark though! That dreadful vicar, and that poor baby, makes you feel quite rung out!!
Must go!!
