Thanks Mandy.
One woman dominated the show. She won firsts in most classes but some of her work was absolutely fabulous. She had a beaded and gold thread picture, a pin cushion which I thought was awful. It was black with machine sewing on it and pins stuck round the sides and braid. She got the first. She had an areoplane made on a wooden base with a little pilot in it with googles on. It was a by plane. She had a beaded box and she won first prize in the jewelry with a bracelet. She had a black jacket all lined in gold with gold embrodery on it. A bookmark and a card and thats just some of the things I saw. She had special prizes on a few of her things. O a pair of knitted gloves in a soft lilac with beads running up them and a knitted bag.

Morning all,
Still raining here and has been during the night. It is so much cooler now I had to put a coat on to close the girls in last night. Funny how our weather can change so quickly from baking hot and unbearable to chilly in a matter of a couple of days.
Nothing planned for today so will see how the mood takes me.

Morning all
I'm finally on here, I've had problems with Sky and the Internet. I had to unplug Sky twice the other night as it crashed, only to find that a few of my programmes had failed in recording, luckily one Sandra and I have been following she had recorded in the other room so we watched that recording.
We had hail yesterday, it only lasted a few minutes but boy did it come down. I thought it was going to smash the glass in the greenhouse. The tree's were swaying all over the place with the high wind, then after that it went calm again.....very strange. We had rain here today, which will do the gardens good.
Pleased to see you are okay Mandy after the mini storm you had. It sounded very scary. Have you had your roof fixed now?
Well, done Mel having three prizes. Knowing what everyone else has done will make it better for you next year, you could make things throughout the year now you have some ideas of what people take.
Love the cloud picture Jane, it did look like there was a hole in the Sky. It sounds like you have a house full. When do they all go home? How did the wedding go?
What a pity they didn't make it in time Anne. My mum's friend passed away a few days ago, it was expected but she was still very upset when I saw her the other day.
I spent all day yesterday planting up lots of seedlings I found in the ground. They are grass's and are brilliant for hiding pots in the winter when my perennials have died back in the borders. Poor OH wasn't well, he felt sick and had a headache so I said to stop the digging in the front and have a lie down. He slept for a few hours and when we had the hail and thunder his headache went, so it must of been the pressure of the coming bad weather.
I fell asleep after doing the garden for a few hours myself so missed most of the F1 qualifying I woke up on the last run to see Lewis Hamilton getting pole position, so I'm a happy bunny now. Looking forward to the race later.
Going to put lunch on now then catch up with a few programmes OH wants to watch.

We've had a lot of rain in the past 24 hrs and WIND!! It's amazing how the grass is already looking greener!! and everything is really perking up!! It's drizzling at the moment so Cas has been for her daily burn up and seemed to think that she should have a bath!! Sadly for her the bath is empty until the weather warms up again!! Congratulations Mel! You must be well pleased! Yesterday we had a lovely time with L and A. They bought OH 's b.day present ( it was 10 days ago!!) and a cake for tea!! Heard all about Eds new school and saw pics of him in his uniform looking very smart!! He's been staying with his Dad for the weekend which is good as he does miss him, much more than the girls, but then they're quite a bit older and into their own lives!! My new lampshade has finally turned up !! It looks great, and I'm well chuffed! Our leccy is off tomorrow from 9.oclock-4pm!! Scottish Power are cutting the hedge behind the barn and Merlin's stable. The hedge has grown up too close to the electricity power lines and pole and badly needs cutting right back. Not sure whether I'll go with OH tomorrow or not; depends on the weather!!

Good afternoon o you all,
What a lovely relief from the HOT WEATHER. It started raining early evening here, stopped, and I thought that's it then, WRONG. It rained quite heavy most of the evening and into the night. It has rained most of the morning and it's sill raining now.
As you said Liz, no watering, I just have to do the greenhouse, which will make a nice change.
How did you go with your BBQ Jane, was it a total wash out. ?? Some times we would cook under my fishing umbrella, and eat in doors.
All done Ml xxx, even though it cost you more in entry fees than your prize money. I bet you enjoyed yourself anyway.
Anne, were the boys able to watch he Midsummer Nights Dream outside, It would be a shame if not, with all the weather we have had.
Slept like a log last night from 10.00 until 6.30, with only one trip to the loo. Ros slept until 9.45.
Roast leg of pork for tonight. As and when we cook and eat it. I feel very hot myself, and have no incline to think about food. All I had yesterday was a Prawn salad Roll and a side salad from Morrison's.
Ros and Carolyn enjoyed Mamma Mia and are pleased they went. Carolyn and John are off to Hastings tomorrow for a week or so. One of her Nieces who has an apartment down there is going with her family, so they will meet up.
Jan is due back from Spain today, I hope there are no storms to delay her flight. Conrad is coming home on Wednesday for the month of August. He wants us to go out mid Sept for a few weeks in the new villa. I have looked at one way tickets and they are coming up around the £40.00 mark. I am not booking yet, as I really don't know if I want the hassle of th travelling, so will leave it to the last moment to see how I feel.
Enjoy the cooler weather, as I think it's getting hot again this week. !!!!

Good afternoon all
We have also had a lot of well needed rain, not as windy as yesterday though.. Richard and his friends enjoyed A Midsummer Nights Dream and they managed to show it outside they took their own seats and drinks with them, I do miss not working there. Paul and three of his mates had a boys night out in London mostly visiting pubs around the Covent garden area.Pete one of them is soon to be married to one of Paul's best friends Sam, he has known her and her Mum for a long time
You did very well in the competition Mel, have you any ideas what you will make next time ? Do they always have the same judges?
That was a good photo of the double rainbow Jane you don't see many of those, did anyone see the blood red moon the other night? It was too cloudy here which was a shame

Evening all, Much cooler here today which is nice after all the heat ,it's gives us a nice break before the heat comes back next week plus it's cooler for sleeping at night , although the house still holds the heat in the rooms and i have had the windows open to cool them down , yesterday was very windy and we have had wind today but it hasn't been as strong . It sounds as if that Lady at the show had been working hard on all the things she entered what a lot she had put in ,is she one that enters her things in every year ?
Do you think it was the weather effecting your sky Gill ? it's good you got it all sorted in the end . We had a lot of hail this way too ,some of it was like big marbles and it can do a lot of damage i saw photo's of a van with the windscreen all cracked and lots of dents in the body work . No the roof hasn't been done yet son said he will do it some time this week .
We haven't done much at all today as it's been raining quite a bit on and off ,i bet next week we will see all the weeds shooting up and the lawn should look a bit greener . The runners are now coming on and the cucmbers have been really good i think it was 25 i've picked so far and there's lots more to come , only one ripe tomato so far and DIL ate that .
It will feel strange tonight not having to water after the last few weeks of doing it

Pleased to see Richard and his friend managed to watch a Midsummer Nights Dream outside and the rain didn't spoil it for them Anne. It sounds like Paul and his mates had a good night out in London too. No, we didn't see the red blood moon either with all the cloud or the planets all lined up or the ISS either, we were quite disappointed as we all like that sort of thing. It said on the news no one in the UK saw it with all the clouds about.
We need to fix our roof Mandy, some of the mortar that was to the side of the ridge tiles has come away, luckily OH managed to retrieve it and can stick it back on once the rain stops. It's been raining on and off all day today so no watering for us either tonight, which will make a nice change. I've watered the greenhouse and will do it again after the F1. Yes, we were thinking it might of been the weather knocking our Sky system off. I just hope it doesn't happen again tonight as it's the last Poldark and I'm hoping to watch them all in one go tomorrow. I don't normally keep them all to watch together but with being so busy outdoors it just happened, so that's my day sorted tomorrow. It sounds like you're doing well with your veggies. I noticed some of our tomatoes were showing signs of black on them and when watching a gardening programme the other day they said it was because the soil had dried out a bit to much in between watering. I have my tomatoes in pots in the greenhouse and although I open the door all day it must of been a bit to hot, so now when they reach a reasonable size I pick them and put them on the kitchen window sill to ripen, that way they don't go black. We've had loads and they are so nice and sweet :-)
I loved the photo of the double rainbow Jane, I was expecting a rainbow yesterday as we had sunshine and showers but didn't see any in the end. It's lovely and cool here today and last night too which helped us sleep. OH still has a bit of a headache but not as bad as yesterday. Hope he's not coming down with something. Sandra said she didn't feel very well the other night and was in bed before 11pm which is very early for her. I hope it doesn't go to hot again after this cooler period it makes everyone feel awful. I thought I'd be bad with the heat as normally I can't take to much hot weather, but I've been okay, maybe I'm just getting used to it.
That's a long time having your electric off Liz, will it effect your freezer, the last thing you need is your food thawing out. I think if you leave the door shut that will help keep it cool. So Cas wants a bath......bless her. Happy belated birthday wishes to your OH, it sounds like you had a nice time with L and A. How nice to see pictures of Ed in his uniform. How old is he? Is he just starting school?
Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep last night Frank, it makes all the difference doesn't it? I bet you feel as bright as a button today. It sounds like Ros had a good lie in too. That was nice of Conrad to invite you to Spain, but I know how much the travelling takes it out of you, maybe it's a good idea to wait and see how you feel nearer the time.

He's just starting secondary school in September Gill, it's not the same school as his two sisters go/went to as L wanted him to go to a smallish independent school about six miles away which has a very good reputation, and more suited to him. We're really pleased as he is small for his age, rather sensitive and very musical. Unfortunately his birthday is 31st July (he'll be 11) which has made him young for his year, so all in all we think he'll do much better and be happier where they've got him into. The freezer will be ok Gill. We shall put newspaper under the lid for insulation, the fridge/freezer we shall just leave closed. It'll be fine! Nearly time for Poldark!!

So he's off to big school Liz, how exciting and a school more suited to him. I was the other end of the scale and was the eldest in my year, it just depends when your birthday is compared to the start date of the new year I suppose. Oh that's good about your freezer. I'll be watching all the Poldark's in one go tomorrow, it'll be nice to have a day to myself, it's been quite some time. Lewis Hamilton has just won the F1 race so is in the lead for the championship going into the summer break. Let's hope the second half of the F1 is good for him. Going to watch another recording with OH and Sandra now.

Well, early birds AGAIN!! I've decided to go with OH this morning and then we can stop off for a pub lunch on the way home! Apparently the electricity company have got quite a bit of tree work to do round here as well as us, so that's why they're taking all day as its all on the same circuit! We've got our old landline phone connected up so at least we'll have that as well as our mobiles!! Also they have to stick to the time schedule for insurance purposes, so at least we know what to expect! Best get on!!

Morning Liz, morning all
Hope all goes well for your OH today Liz. Good idea to go with him, having no electricity won't be nice to be around today. Like you said you know what's happening so that's good. A pub lunch sounds nice. Hope the weather is dry for you.
We have sun here this morning, it's forecast for a light shower some time this morning but I think it's further down than us, then sun for the rest of the day so OH is going to try and finish the digging in the front ready for the paving slabs to go down. We put the soil in last year when we put the stones down so it's nice and loose, the rain will have softened it to so it shouldn't take him long to finish the job. We will use the excess soil in the secret garden in the back where we are going to put more paving. The neighbour over the back cut off lots of branches of her hedge so it's more open now and with it being just soil it gets very muddy and slippy when it rains, so having some paving will make it better to walk on. We use that area for storage more than anything, putting all the pot plants there when they have finished flowering, ready for the following year and it can't be seen from the main garden now we've made the extra border.
Well, it's Poldark day for me today. I'm hoping to watch them all in one go while OH is busy. Sandra has lots of programmes on her planner she wants to watch, so none of us will disturb the other.
Hope the weather has improved for everyone else. I noticed the hot weather is returning towards the end of the week. Hope it's not to hot for you all.

Good morning Liz/Gill and all,
Another excellent nights sleep, 10.00 pm until 6.30 with one trip to the loo. Roa was up before me this morning and bought m tea in bed. SPOILT or what. ;-) ;-)
No sign of sunshine or rain yet. Just overcast with a cool breeze. I can't believe that the lawns have a bit of colour this morning, the txt thing is they will need cutting. !!!
Anne, I can't remember the last time I did a "PUB CRAWL" must have been around 60 years ago. when beer was 8 old pence a pint. Best bitter I think was 10 pence. THEY WERE TH DAYS. !!!!
W hav ben lucky here. No hail stones whatsoever , they certainly can do a lot of damage.
I don't envy you Gill sitting through all those hours of television. the best I can manage is a couple of hours, even then it must be interesting to keep my attention. I do hope you enjoy it, I know Ros watched all the recordings after I have gone to bed, she is a late owl like Mel. lol lol
I was hoping to get a Drs appointment this morning, for a cortisone injection. But there isn't a Dr on duty that can do it. So I will try tomorrow. My neck and shoulder are really not BEHAVING. I get, that, I don't know where to put my arm, to get comfortable. These creams don't seem to be doing any good for relief . :-P :-P
Ros is at the Drs later, she hs a toenail infection, so the foot lady told her last week. She hopes she can get something for it, to clear it up.
I hope you enjoy your lunch out Liz, it makes a nice change from having to get it yourself.
No plans for today. I do need to put up a spice rack that I bought, but I think Ros wants to paint it the same colour as the kitchen doors first. So that can wait.
Anything on the cards with you dear people, for today. ?? Speak later. xxx

Morning all you early birds,
Not a bad morning here with some sun and clouds so not blazing hot but its dry and oh is out on the mower with the big sprayer on the back feeding the lawns with Miricle grow!!!!!! They do look better after the rain but you know what he is like with his lawns, he likes them to look nice and he's been watching them going brown over the last few weeks and keep commenting that they won't pick up again this year but he will scarify them in the autumn to get them ready for next year. At least the rain we had came in bouts which is better than a huge downpour that just runs off the top. Even the Gunnera is standing u again now after the rain. Its planted in its own boggy bit oh made for it but that had dried right out.
I have to go to Mole Valley today for chicken food. I don't know where they put it all. I think I am feeding more crows and pigeons than the big girls. Least th e bantams are shut in so I know just how much they eat of it.

I'm only on the second Poldark so far, so I can't see me getting through them all today Frank. I don't normally leave them all to watch together it was only because we've been so busy outside. OH has finished the digging so will pop one paving stone down to check he has gone low enough if not he'll rake some away. He's nipped out for a bit now so will do it later when he gets home. Pleased to see you have had another good nights sleep, maybe it's because it's cooler at night. I know it has helped me sleep better.
So you're off to buy more chicken food Mel. I think you might be right and the crows and pigeons are eating some of it. Like you said though you know how much the bantams are eating, so that's something. Our lawns have greened up a bit now, so the rain did it some good over the last few days. The only problem is, the weeds have enjoyed the rain too. :-|

I had my Ancestry DNA kit arrive this morning, I have followed all the instructions and it's ready for the post. I is something I have wanted to do for years. Now I will know where he family cam from and hopefully find some more relatives, that I don't know about. I am getting quite excited. :-D :-D :-D I wonder if it will turn up something unexpected, like ROYALTY IN THE FAMILY ;-) ;-) ;-) You might all be calling me your lordship when I get my results back lol lol
Ros has to get some nail clippings for the doctor. As she has only just had her nails done, it will take a while for them to grow enough. So there is going to be some delay.
She is now in the garden doing her thing. I will pop and see if there is anything I can do. I hope not !!! as I don't want to irritate my shoulder and neck., That's my excuse, and I am sticking too it.

Afternoon All I didn't get here yesterday what with the internet playing up all day and I didn't feel at all well. By the afternoon I wias feeling so dizzy sweaty and then suddenly got terrific pain in my hip I had to go and lie down. H&G hd to come and say goodbye to me upstairs.I don't what was going on but a couple more patches of Psoriasis popped up so maybe everything was just all connected . Chris had ot drive me to the Drs this morning as I would not have ben able to hobble through the car park to the surgery. The appointment was for this Achilles Tendon problem. Dr said he was suffering the same but when he looked at my swollen tendon he said "Oh thats bad" :-S. Not what I needed to hear really. He is referring me to the Muscular Skeletal Physio Team. I had already had a cry at home getting down the stairs and then made a fool of myself be doing the same again there. I felt so embarrased but he was very good and just handed me some tissues and carried on with what he was saying .That was the best way .
Mel I didn't get to say well done to you yesterday for your wins at the show so will say it now. WELL DONE YOU :-D :-D :-D. You have been a very happy bunny :-D Next year you may come away with even more prizes.
That was lucky Richard and his friends got to see Midsummers Night Dream out doors Anne. It was a bit dicey as to whether they would be able to or not. ,and Paul and friends too had a good pub crawl around Covent Garden :-D I do like it there. There is lovely little Wine Bar we all went to the night before Hannahs Graduation.
I am going to go now as I am still not feeling quite myself so sorry for not adding anything else right now.
