I hope the physio will help Colin's sister Mandy, it would be nice for her to walk again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news.
How is your sneezing now Mel? I hope it's not a summer cold you are getting.
Sorry to hear you've got some aches and pains Frank, I hope you feel better soon. My shoulder seems to have sorted itself out so maybe I just slept funny which would explain why it was sore for a couple of days.
I don't think I'll be sorting the second part of the bed base today, I'm shattered so think after dinner I'll just sit and relax. I knocked my back on the freezer handle before so that's a bit sore, bending down to sort out the bed base won't help so that can be done tomorrow.
Well, OH went to his dentist appointment, he wasn't out long so that was good. Apparently when the first dentist took his tooth out she left a fragment behind so the dentist today flushed it out twice and OH said it feels much better now. I have noticed the swelling has gone down quite a bit. So it wasn't an infection after all, although the second dentist said he has dry socket which with the bit left in there is why he was in such pain. She has packed it with a dissolvable packing which will help keep it covered for a while.
This is the first proper sit down I've had all day. I have baked another two sponges and have made 80 sausage rolls, OH managed a few earlier and said he feels much better after eating something, other than liquid food as he put it.
I've just made a salad and we are having it with some sausage rolls and chips, OH is having mashed potato with his sausage rolls and some tinned spaghetti, that should be soft enough for him, then he'll have a nice slice of cake. I'm hoping he'll have a better nights sleep tonight as he hasn't had much sleep for a few days.

Evening all My Sister has just gone. It has been lovely having her here for a few days and we have had some good laughs ,bit of shopping and out for breakfasts etc. But it has also been a very stressful and emotional time regarding her daughter and children .It is all to do with Janice's SIL . I can't go into details but it is a really bad time .We feel quite drained by it all .If we feel like this, goodness knows how Janice and Larry are coping. Chris has had to go for a sleep!!. I have missed so many days posts now as I have not had my laptop on at all . This has to be a record !!!. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I shall be back in the swing of things again. :-D I have the Physio appointment at 1.30 for my Achilles tendon but that is all tomorrow .

Evening all
Poor Max getting a soaking Mandy but at least he thought it was a game.
Myself and Richard have both been sneezing a lot just lately but no sign of a cold.
Bo my eldest SIL rang for her usual Monday morning chat, she recently had a smart meter installed and got a nasty shock when she was told she had underpaid on her electricity bill by over £500.00 she always paid by Direct Debit so couldn't understand why, anyway her son took a photo of her meter and forwarded it on and it transpires they had added a digit in error and they actually owed her just over £200.00, she is in her 80's and was going to pay the money if she hadn't had her son living near by it may not have been sorted.
I hope your OH's mouth is easier now and he gets a good night's sleep Gill.
Jane you and your sister must have had a good old natter but I expect you are now missing her company but at least you had a good few days with her, sorry to hear she has family problems but it must have been a relief for her to be able to talk to you about it Frank I have never used E bay but do shop on Amazon a lot, always get birthday cards from them as they have so much choice, books as well you can get some like new for next to nothing plus postage.
Got the dentist tomorrow for a 6 monthly check up.
Going to watch Who do You Think You Are with Robert Rinder in a short time. after University Challenge

It sounds like a weekend of mixed emotions for you and your sister Jane. I hope things turn out okay for everyone. Good luck at your physio tomorrow.
Poor Max, Mandy, it sounds like he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. although maybe it was the right place at the right time for him if he thought it was a game......bless him.
OH is asleep at the moment, like I said he hasn't slept very well for a few nights so a couple of hours now should make him feel a bit better.

Oh dear Jane, nothing like family conflict to cause serious stress! Nice that you had a good time with your sister though. Gill, hope hubby feels better now. Will you be getting yourselves a permanent dentist now? I don't imagine that you want to risk a repeat performance for any of you!! Nothing really going on here, just the usual chores and of course, hospital!! Heard from OH's sister this morning and had a good chat with her, she was a hospital manager in another life, so is a useful person to talk to!! and OH's cousin called to see us yesterday. I've known her since we were both foot loose and fancy free in Oxford many many moons ago, so it's always good to see her. Weather not too bad, sat outside earlier on and it was very pleasant! Time for University Challenge!!

Glad your oh got his tooth sorted Gill and is now more comfortable. Yes you should get a dentists for all of you and go on a regular basis. I know I should have done that years ago.
Poor Janice with all the stress she is going through at present. When you talk on the phone give her my love please. X
This afternoon after lunch I went out to my shed with something and ended up having a good clear out in there. I actually have room on the floor now and the shelves instead of a narrow path up the middle to my potting bench. Then I cleaned the big girls out and had'nt realized it was so late so we had sausage sandwiches for dinner. I then shut the chickens in and fed the hogs and when I looked in their water bowl there was a dead baby frog in it. I had seen two earlier around the garden so thats three baby frogs today then oh said just think how many I have killed mowing.............boo hoo.
I feel all itchy now after doing the girls so I am going to go in the shower and maybe wash my hair as I had to get in the house and banged my head so think I may have a few mites on me. Yuk I hate that.

Morning all,
First in last out!
Quite bright this morning but still cloudy if you know what I mean. There are patches of blue sky so the old sun must be peeping through occasionally.
Shopping day, need I say more? I really don't want to go but I do need some salad and oh's cider etc so I may go early to get back.

Hi Mel and all.
Nothing sort of day here. Quite chilly in th breeze and very little sun. I have hung out a line of coloured's and fed the birds.
Last night we HAD WORDS It ended with me going to bed at 8.15 pm with my radio. I was still lying awake at 12.30 am and was up at 4.45 this morning. So I am completely shattered.
I had quite a stressful day yesterday, what with the Enegy supplier, and then I had well over half an hour talking to the Travel Insurance people regarding my stroke that I had in 2004.They wanted to INCREASE the premium because of it. I flatly refused to pay, and after me cutting off the call, they phoned back and agreed to wave the increase, as a matter of "GOOD WILL" First, and last time, I will use them !!!
Poor old Max, getting a good soaking, and not his fault. I'm sure just like most dogs he gave himself a good shake, and all was fine.
Trouble in the family Jane. you know the old saying "you can choose your friends but not your family" HOW TRUE THAT IS. ;-) ;-) ;-) I'm sure "it will sort it's self out, in the wash." Another old saying.
Madam is shopping with Carolyn, so I have a nice quiet day on my own. Dinner all prepared, and I have eaten this morning !!!
Good that your OH has had his tooth sorted Gill. He must be relieved to be out of pain, and the swelling has gone down.
I'm going to get a coffee and go back to my book. Take care all. xxx

Does anyone remember that Pam Ayres song. 'Oh I wish I'd looked after me teeth'!! I'm certainly glad that we have over the years as I dread to think what they'd be like now!! Windy here this morning but sunny so I'm in my usual position on the veranda with my kindle!! I've mown the little lawn! Only the second time in gawd knows how long! It's amazing how green it is again after being burnt brown!! Our holiday insurance is more this time Frank as OH has had a recurrence of cancer. We just accept this as being par for the course. I think age has something to do with it as well. Tbh, if I were you I'd read the small print carefully as you know how these companies will avoid a claim if they can with let out clauses!! We're going out this afternoon if OH feels up to it. We're both feeling a bit housebound and need a change!!!

Good on you Liz, A change of scenery will do you both good. I get the same feeling some times, but i'm not one who likes or wants to go walking around Tesco's for something to do. !!! Yes I agree these Companies seem to be able to charge as they see fit. But they know that we can't go away without cover.
Washing all dried and my shorts, T shirts and u/pants all folded up and put away. Just leaves Ros's tops and bits for her to iron.
Looking at my back lawn, it could do with another cut. I don't feel up to it today, so might try tomorrow. Today I am afraid is a total rest day.
I see there is more trouble at Westminster Bridge. Poor people must have been scared to death. One woman with a broken hip, they say.
Cloudy but warm outside this afternoon. But not warm enough for me, to sit outside to read. So will do that in my armchair, nd I might even grab forty winks. lol lol

Hope OH's mouth is not sore now Gill after having the tooth out.
Max would have had a right shock LOL with that water . Did he come back for more? :-D :-D Anne we have been doing an awful lot of sneezing here too. It is obviously to do with pollen ,but I dont know what pollen. It might be weeds now.
Mel the thought of you mowing down poor little frogs !! :-(. I suppose it is one of those things that cant be helped. Fingers crossed they might have heard the mower and all hopped off safely :-D :-D
I had my Physio appointment this afternoon, and she did a long session of friction massage followed by some Ultrasound. I have another appointment next Tuesday.
It is humid here again now. So the fan is back on. Lots of Runner beans for dinner tonight :-D :-D. Yum Yum
Liz I have only been to Westonbirt Arboretum once and that was when Hannah was a baby in a buggy. What a beautiful place it is. I hope you have both enjoyed your visit today and found it relaxing and peaceful.

Good morning to you all,
You were last on yesterday Jane and that was early evening .
Again a nothing sort of day, very cloudy with just a light breeze.
While out shopping yesterday Ros went to Rushden Lakes (Jane goes there) She bought me a new pair of slippers. That's 5 pairs I have now. My right foot seems to turn and I end up walking on the side of the slipper. It's because of my STROKE. I have told her to take them back, as I will only ruin those the same as the others and at £27.50, seems a waste of money.
Anne I buy a lot of books from Ebay. Some of the sellers are book shops and do a package of up to 5 books by the same author that you choose. They are mainly 2nd hand, but in very good condition. Once read they either go to Tony next door or to the Air Ambulance. So continue to keep someone happy.
Glad you found somewhere nic for your walk Liz, W don't have anywhere like that round this area, well not to my knowledge.
Somehow I think the lawn will be cut again this morning, it looks very damp and the clouds could well spell RAIN.
I have my cortisone injection this afternoon in my right wrist. Lets hope it gives me some relief. It will then just be my neck, shoulder, hip and knee. that needs sorting lol lol.
I'm just going to get some breakfast and a coffee, See you all later. xxx

Morning Frank morning all
Cloudy here today but quite warm, so OH is finishing off the last border in the front, he was in the middle of digging out the old soil and grass roots when the rain started so he's hoping to have that done and dusted today with some new soil put in, then it's just waiting for the planters to arrive, they said 7 to 10 days and they still haven't arrived, OH went in to the shop yesterday to ask about them and apparently we'll have them sometimes this week. Once they are planted up the front garden will be finished, apart from any more plants we put in over time.
Sorry to hear about your bad day and night yesterday Frank, hope everything is sorted now. That's quite a lot of money for a pair of slippers, with having so many already I don't blame you for asking Ros to take them back if you don't need them at the moment. Good luck with your injection this afternoon, let's hope it's not to long before you neck, shoulder, hip and knee are sorted for you.
How did your walk go Liz, it's sounds a lovely place, hope the weather was nice for you both and it wasn't to much for your OH.
It sounds like you had a good physio session Jane, hope you feel better for it today. You have a lot of runner beans by the sounds of it. I had to pick the last of my tomatoes the other day as I noticed the plants had blight on them again, that's two years on the run, so I might try a different variety next year, maybe see if I can find some that are blight resistant. I have the tomatoes on dishes on the kitchen window sill to ripen.
I've woken up feeling awful today, dodgy tummy and feeling a bit sick, hope it's not a bug and just a 24 hour thing. OH's mouth is feeling much better now and healing nicely. He finished all the paving in the secret garden yesterday and it looks really good, he's glad all the heavy jobs are now out of the way. It won't be long before both the front and back gardens are finished.
Next door has their first viewing on their bungalow this afternoon, I wonder what the new neighbours will be like. I can't believe how much it's on the market for £35,000 more than we sold our place for 2 and a half years ago. I'm so glad we pulled out of the sale now. OH doesn't think it'll sell for that much, but it'll be interesting to see what they do get for it. Maybe property prices are on the up now, the bungalow's in our street seem to have stayed at the same price for over 10 years, it's about time they went up, the houses across the road have shot up in price, so it would be nice to be in line with them.
I think I might have a lie down I'm feeling really off colour right now. I'll try and get back on here later.

Morning all,
Cloudy here today and not very bright. There's grey clouds all over the sky.
I was absolutely worn out yesterday when I got home from shopping and my left hip has started playing up and I am hobbling around like a ninety year old.
Good luck with the injection today Frank. Another step towards pain free we hope. I have the same sort of problem with my my foot and socks. If they are nice and loose on the top then the sock works its way around my foot. With the stiff toe I tend to walk on the side of my foot too.
Oh has to go for petrol again today so we are doing what we did the other week and ordering fish and chips for a certain time and getting the petro and then the F & C then home. Saves me cooking another night.
Sorry to hear your not feeling chipper Gill. I hope with some rest you can feel better later on. Have a nice sleep its a good cure all.

Sorry to hear about your hip Mel, hope it eases soon for you. Good idea to order F&C when you go for the petrol, like you said it'll save you cooking later on.
I've had two pieces of dry toast which seems to have helped, the sickness has gone and my tummy doesn't hurt as much now.
I'm just relaxing on the sofa today and being careful what I eat, no dairy products, as I know they are a big NO NO when you have an upset tummy. Luckily I drink black tea so I'm drinking plenty to keep my fluids up.
Going to watch a bit of telly with Sandra then I think I'll have a warm bath, my hair needs washing and the soak in warm water will probably relax me which can only help. I've finished all my big jobs for now so there's nothing that desperately needs doing, so I'm having a day off.
OH has almost finished the border, which is good as it looks like rain is on the way. I slept in until almost 10am which is very late for me. Poor OH got up at 6.30 as I got up then to go to the loo, I was in pain and he thought I was getting up......bless him. I did feel a bit guilty as I didn't know he'd got up at that time with going back to sleep. He didn't waste his time though and watered the grass and plants in the front garden. The grass is starting to knit together now where he took it up to lay it level and added a bit on one side. It needs cutting but he said he'll leave it for a while to make sure it doesn't come up with the mower. No doubt though he'll do the back lawn as that really does need doing, providing it doesn't rain and he feels up to it once the border is finished.
Well, I'd better go Sandra is waiting to watch first dates I recorded for us, she likes that programme. See you all later.

Well just my luck. After I had mowed the lawn, and was sitting on the patio to gt my breath back, Valerie came out and said she was expecting BARRY at any time soon. I should have waited, and he could have done it. Instead I have bu@@ered my hip and back. I tried to mow the new turf, but th mower blade just churned the edge up. So will have to cut it by hand until it settles down and knits together.
As I have not had to pay BARRY, I will take Ros out for a bar meal after my injection at 4.30 pm and it will save me cooking, so win win situation.
It's the Blisworth Canal Festival this weekend. I doubt that we will bother going down, as it's a lot of walking, and we are both suffering at the moment. So I think it is better we don't aggravate our back pains.
Conrad and Jan might be coming up this weekend to stay with Kerry and Mark, so we will see them for a few hours, maybe a meal out as well. ;-) ;-) ;-) I hope it's Sunday on their way back to Devon. That would be another day without cooking.
Going to have a nice relaxing SHOWER. It's times like this when I wish we had a bath. A nice soak would be sooooo nice ahhhh. I bet Gill will enjoy hers. <3 <3

Mum called around Frank so I haven't had my bath yet, I'm just watching the end of First Dates with Sandra then I'll run one. I feel much better now, I started with a headache so took an Alka Seltzer (sp) that's done the trick and I feel almost back to normal now. I'm hungry but not sure what to eat, I'll have a think about it. Maybe some soup or something else light.
What a shame you didn't know Barry was coming around, mind you like you said you can have a meal out now with Ros so win win. Hope it is Sunday Conrad and Jan visit then you won't have to cook a big roast.
OH used the new soil we had to fill in the hole in the border but ran out so he's just nipped out to buy some more, the sun came out but there were still a few dark clouds around so he cut the back lawn first, it looks much better now. That's why he didn't cut the front lawn Frank, he was worried the grass he took up to level might of got caught in the mower blades so he's going to leave it a bit longer to make sure it's rooted again properly and knitted together.
I've just had a look at next door but couldn't see any cars so I don't know if the viewing went ahead or not. OH said he saw the agents car just before 2pm which was the time of the viewing but we didn't hear anybody arrive or leave. The original time was 5pm so maybe they've changed it back to then. OH thinks a builder might buy it, but I have my doubts considering the price it's up at.......time will tell I suppose.
I found some edging for the front lawn online before, it's made from recycled tyres, of all things, but they say it's indestructible......they haven't met my OH yet LOL. It's also suppose to be weather proof, so I might see how much we would need and price it up. It would save the grass going into the borders again and also make the lawn look tidier.
I'm feeling a little sleepy so might have a nap later if it's not to late, before dinner. I'm certainly not missing working today, not that I'd be of any use to OH. He said he doesn't mind doing the work on he's own as it's only a small job and won't take to long to do. The postman asked after me this morning, which was nice, we've been chatting to him while doing the front garden and the other day he said he would bring me a big box with lots of paper in it and ONE SEED in the middle........silly man :-D :-D. He was delivering a parcel to someone down the road and I said "OH is that for me?" I think that's why he made the joke. He's a new postman and very friendly, unlike the old one who was just a grumpy old man.
Well, I'd better get back to our programme I have it on pause, then I'll have some soup and a nice soak in the bath.
