I have just dropped a piece of lamb and the bone off at Pam's for her dog. I saw the postman and asks him he needed a drink. YES PLEASE. No one had asked him while he's been walking round the village delivering. He drank TWO pint glass's of cold water from the FRIDGE. He was so grateful.
My lunch today was a large tin of PILCHARDS. and B & B. I can't remember the last time I had them. I doubt I will want to eat tonight.I feel so full up.
The trapped nerve in the right hand side of my neck, seems to have moved to the LEFT. I'm a right pain in the neck. lol lol.
So you have been getting your jobs done Mel. All I have done is sit in the shade with my book, and will be going back to it soon. !!!
Bin day tomorrow. Both the Blue and green are full. I will need to pinch a bit of space in one of the neighbours Green bins, as Ros has TWO black bags full to be got rid of. ( she has had a good clear out of a couple of the beds)
Madam is just back, so will go and help unpack the shopping nd my beer. !!!

Well Frank thats the most important thing, your beer. You would really have thought with this hot weather the postman would have taken a drink with him. If he froze a bottle of water it would thaw out while he was on his rounds and he could have a nice cold drink now and then. I used to do this for oh when he went fishing with orange juice or lemon barley water. Did it for my son when he went on school outings and he loved it too.
I really must get around to cleaning the caravan. I have just brought down the bathroom mats to bung in the machine but oh has some tools in there namely his new electric hedge trimmer and his jigsaw. O and his big fishing seat which takes up a lot of room. Perhaps I can get him to put that in the loft.

Afternoon all,
Phew another hot day here ,we had a nice dip in the pool earlier just had a cold drink and thinking about getting in again now before the children come later, we had a meal at lunch time today so it will be a sandwich or some thing easy later, we had our first lot of runners today and boy were they good .
Frank that poor postman with no one offering him a drink in this weather , he must have thirsty if he drank two pints poor chap. I use to do like you Mel and freeze some squash in a bottle for Colin to take to work ,some times he would bring it home and there would still be ice in the bottle .
Right time to cool off BBL

Afternoon Everyone
I decided to go private for my phyiso for the Achilles Tendonitis as it could be a 15-20 week wait otherwise. I was very lucky to have got an appointment this afternoon as there has just been a cancellation .So I went to the Woodlands Hospital (Frank you have been there). I had some massage done and have a couple of stretching excercises to do . Nice and easy ones :-D and another appointment next week for more massage.
No Frank we wont be going to the funeral. We only met him once or twice. I did ask Janice if she thought we should go but said a definite NO.
Sounds like you have a double pain in the neck now Frank or has it switched completely to the other side ? I was thinking do they have private Physio at the Three Shires you could maybe try? I had to laugh when I got up from the couch after the physio had finished as the white paper sheet was totally stuck to my arms and I had to peel bits off me !!! It is so muggy again today.Very very uncomfortable . I actuallt found it difficult sleeping last night and they say it will probably be even a little warmer tonight :-S :-S
That was a lovely day out yesterday Mel and lucky you met those people who suggested you went on a bit further to Crackington Haven(love the name) . What did you have for your lunch at the Pub?
I havent been back long and havent done anything about dinner yet other than string the runners although there wasn't much to take off. So I will be off to the kitchen now with the fan :-D

I finished my latest project this afternoon I have taken a pic so if anyone wants to see it let me know please.
We had the most amazing sky early evening and I took some pics of that too. It looked like all little sprites in the sky whizing around.

Evening all
I'm very late coming on here today. OH has finished the flagging and we will make a start on levelling the front lawn tomorrow as it's sunk in the middle. I sorted out some pots that had gone dry, they were the spring flowers, bluebells and the like, that had been put to one side ready for next year and I'd forgotten to water them. I don't give them much during the summer, just enough to keep them from drying out, but forgot to do it this year, so that's now done. I decided to put some of the bulbs in the front garden, there were crocus's, bluebells and I think there was a lupin, so they should look nice in the front next spring.
Sandra had to see the doctor today for her disability claim, they are changing over from the one she's on to a different one so a new claim has to be made, they had contacted her doctor to fill out a form but he hadn't seen her since 2010 so she had to go in and answer some questions, her dad went with her as she's get a bit nervous talking to people she doesn't know. The doctor doesn't seem to think there will be a problem with the claim, but I suppose it's up to the jobcentre. I need to make a phone call to answer more questions then I think everything will be done. I filled in a form for her a while back so it's all the necessary things that need to be done to complete the claim. Once the call is made she'll have to wait to see what decision they make. Talk about jumping through hoops.
Sorry to hear you now have a pain in the other side of your neck Frank. That was kind of you to offer the postman a drink, I often offer a drink to our postman but so far he's never taken me up on the offer. Maybe he carries his own drink with him, or he's worried he might need the loo if he has to much to drink. I should imagine it would be awkward to ask someone if he can use their toilet.
I bet it was lovely having a dip in your pool Mandy, I do envy you, especially this afternoon as it went really hot.
You've been busy today Mel by the sounds of it, you'll sleep tonight. We've just had a lovely red sunset, everywhere went an orange colour, it's was really pretty. I watched the weather earlier and they say it's going to be a lot cooler over the next week with some rain, so that'll be a nice change. It turned really hot here for a few hours this afternoon, after a cool start to the day. We find it much easier to do the big garden jobs when it's cloudy, especially in the front with it being South facing. Hopefully it'll be cloudy again tomorrow morning when OH and I do the lawn.

Good morning all,
Another hot night, I slept on top until 5.00 am when I went to the loo. Had another restless night, Ros came in around 12,30, but I hardly felt her get in. This new mattress is wonderfull, you never feel the other person turning over.
Both bins were emptied by 7.30. The lads run between the house like MO FARRAR lol lol I expect the sooner they are finished their rounds, age sooner they can go home. If I had a supply of bottled water in the fridge, I would have offered them some, I wonder if the postman will knock for some later
The postman yesterday had drank his water One and a half litres, so he hadn't come out without any.
The tomato's are ripening so quickly, I am running out of people to give them too. !!!
I am going to tackle the lawns today, if I find it too much I will ring Barry, as there are a couple of other digging jobs that Ros needs doing.
Duck breasts in a wine sauce for this evening. Not sure yet what Veg I will do to go with them.
Time for more tea and sort out what I will have for breakfast. I think I fancy Egg, Bacon, tomato's and mushroom. hat will see me through until tonight.

`Morning Mel , Frank and All
Phew it is going to be another hot and sticky one today. Hopefully the last day like this now.
Frank I am the same as you and offer a cold drink to anyone like the postie and any delivery people when it is weather like this. Unless they carry a cool box or something in their vans their drinks must get so warm through the day and not nice ot drink.
I moved the fan closer to me last night and had to prop it up on a box on a chair !! I had visions of it toppling over but it sayed firm and kept me cool .
Mel I LOVE Bagpuss :-D :-D :-D. Thats brilliant. How long did it take you to make him?
I am going to hop in the shower quickly and the nget out quickly before the heat gets unbearable . So will BBL

Another lovely day here. We were up as usual about 630 and have finished all the outside chores. I did the watering and the wasp traps while OH saw to Merlin and walked Cas, then breakfast, then we both had showers, dressed, and ready for then next phase!! him to hospital , me, hoovering etc, then the garden for the rest of the day! Thanks for the pics Mel, they're all lovely. Frank, have you thought of freezing your tomatoes? They do brilliantly for casseroles bolognese sauces etc in the winter! Must get the washing out, then I may do some deadheading or I may not!!! I keep putting up spelling mistakes and having to correct them as my kindle has a mind of its own and has a habit of not picking mistakes up - I need to proof read before posting and not afterwards! smacked wrist! :-|

Meant to say, how fantastic the staff are at the radiotherapy unit! You couldn't ask for kinder, more helpful, sympathetic or friendly team anywhere you could name. It certainly makes the whole lot exercise so much more bearable and the team will certainly be made aware of our appreciation when we reach the finishing line! After your last treatment, there is a ship's bell that the patient rings to tell others the glad news!! Then they all clap, and wish them well!! Everyone is so chatty and nice, I almost wish I was going! I shall on the last day! :-D

Yes, we saw that happen on the news Mel a while ago, it's a brilliant idea for everyone! But for the journey I think OH quite enjoys going he likes chatting to people and is making new friends with other patients and staff!! M rang earlier to see how we are and his partner has sent me a pic of her baby grandson + some other family pics. He looks a sweet little soul, well, they both do he and his elder brother! L and family have gone to Brittany camping/caravanning for two weeks. They're right by the sea so it should be good. She's gone near where we used to sail to many moons ago! I bet its changed since then!!

I have just been to our local M&S for the very last time as it is closing down for good on the 11th :-(. 44 years it has been here. There is not a lot left in the store now clothes wise just odds and ends really. I did get myself a linen shirt and a pair of shorts for James. I don't know if he needs any but I keep seeing him in the same pair. I can just take them back to Rushden Lakes store if he doesnt want them. It was so hot in the store everyone was mopping their brows and necks.
So it was just the lovely Mushroom you made Mel. I had thought how clever you werw to make Bagpuss :-D. He did look cool with the sunnies on :-D
I love the idea of ringing the bell on the last day of treatment. I have seen that too on TV. I bet you cant wait now for Ian to ring on his final day there Liz. Where in Brittany has L and family gone? We have had many holidays in Brittany and loved it there. We even had our Honeymoon there. We used to do Eurocamp Hols or Gites with the children and a couple of times with Janice and family too. After we felt we had 'done' Brittany it was the Dordogne which I have to say is wonderful but can get a bit too hot for me.
I am just cooling off by the fan now and then I need to get the food I bought in hte fridge. The ironing is done .I did half and Chris did the other half while I was out. It is too hot here for Chris to cut the hedge so that can wait until things cool off a bit.
Liz do Tomatoes that have been frozen just go to mush when defrosted? I have never thought of freezing them but as you said they would be good in some casserole type dishes. We are getting a lot now,but the smaller variety . Our Runners are not doing well(I think I might have mentioned that) so I am really disappointed . We may only have another couple of pickings unless there is a miracle .Our Green Beans though are doing amazingly well . Almost too many too keep up with but I can't freeze them as there is no room in the tiny freezer and the big one is still not working. :-S
Thomas is staying out all night now and most of the day too. He came back about 6 last night for a couple of hours and had a roll about and a groom on the patio and then just after 8 he was off again. He does come back at some point in the night to have some of his food in the summerhouse. He looks fine other than having all these sticky burrs .So I am tryng not to worry about him being out all night .I think as the weather cools down he will hopefully get back to his normal routine .
Anne has Ruby been anywhere near the pond again? :-D So many animals must be suffering in this hot weather. I saw someone just now with 4 dogs in town on the hot pavements :-S. Tongues hanging out and probably burnt little feet. I wouldnt want to walk barefoot on hot tarmac !!. I keep thinking of Mandy's pool !!!!!!. It must be heaven . Lunch time now.

Afternoon all ,
So hot out there today ,we went to the range early we wanted some of the plastic table covering for our outside table ,as it's glass we thought we would put a cover on it so it doesn't get scratched . Son wanted some to for their table ,i think they made a mistake on the prices as we bought 2 metres for our table at £3.90 a metre and 3 metres for sons table ,i bought some fat quaters and a couple of garden plaques and it all came to 21 pound some thing , the lady on the till moved from one till because it went down and after she served us that till she was on went down too so some thing was wrong some where .
Mel the mushroom brooch is lovely and the sky photo, we had a pretty sky the other morning it was so mottled looking with the blue sky above .
Family should be here soon for another dip in the pool .
I've them ring the bell too ,Liz before you know it your OH will be ringing the bell too.

Sounds like you got a bit of a bargain then Mandy :-D :-D. I haven't been to the Range which is in Corby for years now. How are the blow up chairs doing in the pool? Oh I do wish I was there. I am wiping sweat of my forehead with Kitchen paper which soon disintegrates :-S Even though it is that thick paper.
I just saw on FB that Wembury Beach (where I grew up ) is not safe to swim or paddle in as it may be polluted !!!. I don't know what with but the poor families down there locals and holiday makers will be really cheesed off if they can't enjoy getting i nthe water to have a good cool off.
Chris was going to take my recliner down under the Bay Tree to have a read and no doubt doze in but he called me out as Thomas had sicked up something on the seat and it was covered in Blow Flies :-S :-S. It was a bit like a fur ball but probably mainly mouse :-S. So I cleared it all off got the dettol out and washed it all down and it is as clean as a whistle now but he had decided he doesn't want to sit in it now !!!!!. What a silly billy. I have sliced up some rump steaks (for a Stroganoff ) and managed to just squeeze them into the freezer. They would have been out of date tomorrow and I am not planning a Strog just yet. I also need to slice up some Oranges to freeze as they are nice in an Aperol Spritz . I might just have to finish the ice cream and get rid of the tub first so I can get them in :-D That is a good excuse :-D :-D
I need to ring the Vets now to get Thomas booked in for his annual vaccination. It is difficult to know what time to book though with him being away from home for so much of the time. But he has to have it done before he goes into the cattery when we go to France on hte 30th.

They're near St Malo Jane, A site called Camping Port Blanc! Some years we used to go to Cherburg for a brief stop then round to St Malo for a couple of nights before sailing to Jersey so L is fairly familiar with it but I bet its changed out of all recognition!! Yes you just bag up the tomatoes and put them in the freezer or puree them first before freezing. They do defreeze as mush, but are excellent for cooking. Blow flies!!! Yucky!! Why couldn't Chris clear it up?!!!!!! :-D :-D. for the same reasons as Ian I guess!!

HOT or what. ???
I mowed both lawns this morning before 10.00 am. I'm glad I did, as I wouldn't want to be doing them now :-| :-| :-| I trimmed round the edges as the Postman came. He said how nice the front garden looked. I offered him a glass of COLD water, which he jumped at. I offered him a bottle, but he said he was almost finished his round.
I noticed that Ros;s rear tyre was looking low, so I got out the electric pump that runs of he Cigar Lighter. It was showing 10 lb, so got it back up to 28 lb. Denis next door come over and said ,he noticed the tyre yesterday, WHY didn't he tell me THEN ???
Ros has finished weeding and de-heading the borders this afternoon. She is now sitting by the pond, with the hose, filling it up, and nettting this Bl@@dy duck weed. There's not a lot left from previous clearing, but it spreads so quickly if you don't keep on top of it.
Is it tonight, that the weather is in for a change ?? It will pertained be appreciated from this end. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ys Liz, I bet you will ring that Bell like HELL, when Ian has finished his treatment and gets the ALL CLEAR. xxx <3 <3
Jane someone showed pictures of the inside of M & S. It looks almost empty. The caption was "WHAT WILL BE HERE NEXT" I remember buying a suit from there in the 60s, and it was where my TWIN SISTER worked. We bought quite a few clots from there for the children also. I thought you were going to say the fan fell of the box and your hair got caught in it. That would not be nice !!!
The lawn under the HEBY (sp) bush has cracks in it, about an inch wide. Ros has filed the holes with earth and trodden it down. I will have to make sure the sprinkler get to these spots, and it gets a good soaking.
I bet the family are there now Mandy, getting a good soaking in the pool, how nice that must be. tell them to move over a bit, as I am coming in. lol lol
Stay cool, and enjoy the rest of the day. xxx

Thanks Frank and all! OH won't get the all clear for three months after the treatment finishes, it takes that length of time for the blood count to fall which indicates whether or not treatment has been successful, so it'll be December before we get a definite result but hopefully the radiotherapy will have done its job! Cupper tea now and a ready made meal with rice nice and easy!!
