Jane Report 7 Aug 2018 16:56

Just found some more sick stuff around the bar on the bottom of the recliner. It had a tail so definitely a mouse !!!. Liz I think if I wasn't here Chris would clear up but he knows I am straight out there to clear anything like that. . He just knows I will do it. Thankfully it is bin day in the morning so all that has gone in the black bin :-D

Frank I didn't know your twin sister worked in M&S here. I must have spent thousands in there since we moved here in 1985. So I had my last spend today. The town centre is not going to be the same again now. There is nothing there other than Boots or TkMax that I would want to go to . (Maybe the Clarks shoe shop) but how long will that one last I wonder.
Sounds like a slow puncture for Ros :-S. 10 is very low on a tyre !!. . Not that I know much about tyre pressure . I seem to think mine should be between 28 and 32. I need to check !!..I had to fill my windscreen washer stuff today. That was a bit of a performance finding out how to open the blooming bonnet :-S Its done now :-D

OH would clear up sick/poo/pee if I wasn't here but when I am he comes over all helpless!! :-| Feeling a lot fresher here, I wore a thin jacket when I took Cas at 5.00 and the wind was almost chilly!! No rain though- yet!!
That's a point Jane, I must ask OH how to open our bonnet. If I needed to at some point I would feel a complete idiot if I didn't know how! !! :-(

We came back and went into the pool it was so warm in there just like a bath. Tomorrow we should be going to Wells for a day on the beach we will take a picnic and lemonade and build sand castles :-D

Rain stopped play here earlier great big drops it was so lovely and cool on the skin .

Its been much cooler here today and I had to shut one of the car windows when I came home.

Went up the High St to get oh some funnels for his wasp traps. I could only get two bigish ones. You used to see funnels everywhere at one time but I tried two other shops and nothing not even in Morrisons. I bought two glow wands for the boys in Poundstretcher with LED flashing lights in and one has had the bit that keeps the batteries apart missing and it did'nt work so that will be going back next week. I should have checked tem in the shop.

Was measured for some new bra today and they did'nt have the size I needed!! 42 D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could'nt believe it when she said. I did buy two in a size 40 D though a white and a black in different styles. We have lost the shop I used to go to in Holsworthy and when we were first down here we had an actual bra shop called Evelyn's and she was a lovely lady but she retired. I have seen her in Holsworthy since.

Going to watch a bit of telly now and relax............see you all in the morning night night.

Morning all,

Blue sky and whispy white clouds today so I think it may be hot later on. It was really chilly last night when I went out to watch a cou ple of hogs at the bowls of food. This morning one bowl is upside down but the other still has some food in it. I seem to have a regular two as there's a light one and a dark one.

Now what shall I get for dinner tonight? I am fancying a steak and kidney pie with some mushrooms in it. Hmmmmm

Frank Report 8 Aug 2018 10:20

Good morning Mel, and all you lovely people,

Nice cooling breeze the moment, all doors and windows open and I can feel the coolness on my bare back. lol lol

Nice job for you Jane, both Ros and I use to clear up after the dogs and cats if and when they had an accident. Not nice but has to be done.

I doubt I would know Kettering if I had to go there. On the odd occasion we go that way, it it always around the ring road. going on to somewhere else.

Mel, I feed our hog every night, in front of the garage door. After he has visited and eaten he squeeze under th side gate and wonders down he garden. Denis next door says he often see him coming under the face into his garden. We have he HOG HOUSE under a bush, where he goes, I expect to sleep off his meals. lol lol.

I didn't realise there was such a time lapse after the treatment Liz, Anyway Fingers crossed everything will go to plan.

I bet it was nice and COOL for you all in the Church Mandy. What a great idea to keep he children occupied during the holidays. Is it a regular thing ??? And to then come home to a nice pool to relax in. they must think they ar in HEAVEN. !!! I am sure you all will enjoy your day at Wells, it's such a nice little place, as I remember it.

Poor Ros has to go back to the dentist this morning. She has had constant Tooth Ache since having her tooth out. She has on of these little mirrors that the dentist use. Who she looks into hr mouth, she can see a bit of tooth, that had been left behind. Hopefully the dentist will be able to remove it, without putting her in too much PAIN. Better her than me. :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-|.

See you all later. xxx

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Aug 2018 10:28

O poor Ros thats not a good job he did on her then and she should'nt be charged for it. Hope she gets an appointment soon Frank. Nothing worse than toth ache.

Well I have got the steak and kidney out of the freezer but thats all I have done so far today. I have just been relaxing at the pc playing card games.

Frank

Frank Report 8 Aug 2018 12:57

She's back from the dentists, It's not a piece of tooth, it's her JAW BONE. It seems that when you have a tooth out at the back of your mouth, it can uncover the bone. She has put a dressing on it, and if it's not any better by the end of the week, she will have to go back.

I thought this morning (YES I do have a BRAIN !!) Did Jan arrange Travel insurance for us when sh booked the flights. The simple answer is NO. !!! So I have to find a reasonable priced insurance. I have seen the advert for "INSURE AND GO" My advise to anyone, don't use them. Their cheapest per person, for us was over £121.00. When we went in June I found a Company who charged just over £24.00 per person. For the life of me I can't remember the name. It might still be in our case, so will have a look.

The weather can't make up it's mind, one minute is blowing a gale and cloudy, now the sun is out. It's not warm enough to sit outside to read, so as soon as Ros goes out again at 2.00 pm to B & Q with Carolyn. I will turn off the T.V. and read in my armchair. She likes o watch LOOSE WOMAN when she's home.

Stir fry for this evening, Ros will get the Veg pack and noodles from Tesco, as I am sure they will call in there on the way home.

On of the flower beds is getting to large, with all the trimming back over the years. Roa will pickup a couple of rolls of turf this afternoon, then I can make the bed smaller. I think I will give the area a good watering, to make sure the turf takes alright. The first house I bought, I had to tuft the front garden. It was a very dry spell and the turf shrank, I was everlasting filling the gaps and watering. That was in 1960. It shows my "old brain box" is still working lol lol

Afternoon all,

We didn't go out today as i had a dicky tummy last night and it's quite a hike from the beach to the loo's , family have still gone so they should have a good day as it's a bit cooler .

Frank i've never heard of that before ,seeing your jaw bone no wonder Ros had some pain .
Have you tried Compare the Market for your travel insurance ?
I hope you've put the new pass ports some where safe :-D
The afternoon in the church for the children was a one off thing ,i saw it advertised and thought the children would like it , there is also a tour of the Bell Tower ,Colin thought he might like that .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Aug 2018 18:39

Sorry to hear you have a dicky tummy Mandy. I think I may have been the same as you on Monday.

I have hoovered, cooked the steak and kidney before lunch and kleft it on to simmer. I have stoned thirty plumbs and cooked those and now I am about to make up the pie and an apple and plum pie andput more plums in the freezer. I feel as if I hav'nt stopped today and I suppose I hav'nt really.

Oh is out mowing so I have had the house to myself all afternoon.

Em rang to thank me for the plums and apples and we had a bit of a natter.

I have just had the pheasent and her four chicks down here for corn and Phil turned up too so the whole family. I got a few pics so will send them later. She went down the garden and had a bit of a dust bath in oh's sand he put down to level the lawn and the babes sat under the potentilla. There are three cock birds and one little hen and they are really quite big now.

Jane Report 8 Aug 2018 18:41

Evening All
Oh poor Ros! no wonder her gum was so painful. I hope the dressing will stay in and that it will soon heal over.

Mandy how is your tummy now?. Good idea to give the beach a miss today especially with the loos being a fair way off. You would have been worrying all the time in case you had to make a hasty run !.

My Sister is coming to stay on Friday and will go home on Monday . She is looking forward to some peace and quiet :-D. That will be no problem here. She never gets a moment to herself at the moment as she has at least 2 of the Grandchildren every day ,and William and Amelia are always on the go and never stop. So I am looking forward to a nice time with my little Sis :-D

I think it has still been very warm today although certainly not so humid . There are some dodgy looking clouds at the moment so I don't know if we might be in for a very welcome shower. Maybe Thomas will come home tonight. I got up at 3 last night for the loo and looked out the window and he was on the patio so being a mug I went down to let him in.He was hungry so I fed him and went back to bed. He then came and joined me until 5.30 when he wanted out again. Then at 6.30 our doorbell rang !!!
So I shot out of bed but no-one was there. It was the fact we had had a power cut and the leccy had just come back on.

Yes Frank, are your new passports safe somewhere?? :-D. I hope you remembered that insurance company that you had a good deal with before. I think we are all sorted for our holiday insuranceI will double check with the Master :-D. He is always on the ball with these things. I am in charge of going to buy our Euros :-D
I need to ring the surgery about one lot of my tablets as I was going to reorder on line but it says I cant until the 30th !!! which cant be right as my last prescription was the 12th July !!. I only have about a weeks worth and they are ones that I can't just suddenly stop.

Thomas has turned up for a feed. I bet he will be off again shortly LOL

Very full up. The pie was stupendous and oh had a piece of the apple and plum pie afterwards with ice cream. I could'nt face any but had a little taste and it is nice. Needless to say it went all over the bottom of the oven and its just as well my oven tray covers it all so I just poured some hot water in it and left it in the oven and it all came off nicely.

Morning all,

Bit cloudy here this morning and its much cooler as even oh is outside fiddleing with the mower deck and he has a light jumper on. Very unusual for him if its hot. Not been out yet myself but I better get on as I have to go to Holsworthy today for our scripts and if I go this morning then the rest of the day is my own.

After all my hard work yesterday I want to have a fiddle with my felt today. May make another brooch in a different style and colours.

Frank Report 9 Aug 2018 10:36

Good morning Mel, and all,

I have been a busy boy this morning, considering I had a bad night. I was in bed by 10.00 pm up again at 11.45. Read my book until 2.30 and slept until 6.30 am.

I have laid one of the turf, after cutting out the dead part of the lawn, that is adjacent to the flower bed that needs to be made smaller. At the moment I have th sprinkler on it. When it's had good soak, I will bash it over with the back of the spade, to hopefully get the two surfaces to knit together. I might put the other turf down by the water butt.

Poor old you Mandy, Missing a day out with the family. I hope your tummy is much better today.

Yes the PASSPORTS are in a safe place, and I know where thy are. !!! As for Travel Insurance, I will go on the search engines on line, and see what there is price wise. I might even recognise the previous company.

I haven't had a S & K pie for ages Mel, I will have to get Ros to get some in. Just fancy that with nice creamy mash and veg. yum, yum. ;-) ;-) ;-)

That will be nice having your sister up for the weekend Jane, will she be bringing Larry or b eon her own ?? Thomas seems to be a pain in the neck with all his comings and goings. Can't you lock him in the kitchen with his litter tray, and lt him out WHEN YOU WANT TO. ??? We will buy our urn's off of Conrad, as he always seems to have a reserve tucked away somewhere. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Not sure what to expect with the weather today. It's very cloudy, with hardly a breeze, so will just have to wait and see.

Ros has changed the bed this morning, so I had better get the line up, and hope the rain holds off, so it can dry outside. It smells so much nicer. :-) :-) :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Aug 2018 10:53

We had a shower of rain this mroning but its dried up now and the suns out. It still dos'nt feel that warm though.

I keep thinking I can smell fly spray but ohh says he has'nt sprayed any or even knows where any is. I have the most horrid taste in my mouth so something has upset me.

Gillx

Gillx Report 9 Aug 2018 11:08

Morning all

Lovely and sunny here today after some rain yesterday.

The front lawn has now been re-shaped into a circle and looks so much tidier. The centre of the lawn has been taken up and levelled off and put back. I've added a bit more grass from the cut off around the edge to another edge that the grass had died back to complete the circle, now all we need to do is keep it watered. OH tried to dig out the side border yesterday but rain stopped play, he's out at his mates today so it'll probably be done tomorrow if it's dry. He took some rubbish down the tip so that'll nearly all gone. He also went to the shop we ordered the planters from as we hadn't heard from them about the delivery date and they said it would be another week, so that gives us some time to finish off all the little fiddly jobs. The planters should be the last job, apart from adding more plants here and there.

Sandra and I are sorting out the spare bedroom in the front. The daughter of next door (the 99 year old woman) is emptying the bungalow the photo's are being taken tomorrow ready to put the property on the market. She is selling a brand new three quarter bed that hasn't been slept in for £50 so we're buying it off her as our three quarter bed is past it's best now, that's why Sandra and I are sorting out the room. I've taken the old bed down and it's in pieces to one side of the room and now I'm putting a few things in boxes out of the way. I've hoovered all through and once the front room is sorted I'll change the bedding and put that on the line. At the moment I have the bedding from the spare bed on there.......silly me I should of stripped the bed first. Never mind it's sunny enough for it to wait an hour.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell Mandy and couldn't make the family trip to the beach, hope you are feeling better today.

Hope you managed to get hold of Thomas for his vet appointment Jane. It sounds like you're excited about your sister's visit, is it just the weekend she's staying for?

It sounds like you were busy yesterday Mel, it'll be nice to relax and do your crafting today. Hope the nasty taste in your mouth goes soon.

Sorry to hear about Ros and her sore mouth, hope she's feeling a bit better today Frank. Yes, keep your new lawn watered you wouldn't want it to die in this hot weather. We've been watering ours even though we've had some rain, just to make sure it's had enough.

Well, I'd better get back to sorting out the front bedroom.

Gillx

Gillx Report 9 Aug 2018 13:18

Sandra and I have just brought the new bed around from next door, her daughter was there but couldn't stay long and since we'd nearly finished sorting the room we thought we bring the bed now rather than wait for OH later, that way the room will be back to rights and he can just take the old mattress down the tip incase it rains again, otherwise it'll be to heavy to lift. My arms are really achy carrying everything, a bit like a dead arm, so I'm going to grab a cuppa and wait a while until I can feel my arms again before putting the bed up and sorting the room out.

It our anniversary today, 33 years since our first date OH and I had back in 1985. I'm hoping to sort the bedroom out as a surprise for him and if I have time bake a cake, although that might not happen as he'll be in around 5.30 and it's almost 1.30 now. I'll see how the time goes and bake the cake if I have some time when the room's finished.

Right off for a cuppa now then back to work, see you all later. ;-) ;-)

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Aug 2018 14:54

Busy little bee arn't we Gill. Happy Aniversary for today. Try to make the cake as it would be nice to have it later when oh gets back in. With Sandra's help you should get it all sorted and straight before he comes home.

I have decided to give Holsworthy a miss for the scripts till tomorrow as I want to have a fiddle with my felt. I have just the washing up from lunch to do and then I shall make a start.

Frank Report 9 Aug 2018 15:20

I'm just back from my monthly injection. While I was there the Nurse took my B.P. 154/70 she was a bit concerned about the 154. She would like to see it down a bit. She also weighed me. 12 stone 6 lbs. I have lost 10 lbs since March. but she was happy with my BMI. I got on my scales naked last night and it showed 12 stone dead. All I have on today is shirt, trousers socks and shoes. So they must weight about 6 lbs.

There is a bit of a chill in the air now, and I thought I felt a spot of rain.

I wonder why this MacBook puts words in my sentence's that I haven't typed. I have noticed it a lot lately. It's trying to think for me. lol lol

Martine rang this morning. Brian is not at all well, so they are not going to the caravan this weekend, so she will meet Ros for their Saturday CHIN WAG. !!!

It's just done it again. I typed "their" and it came up as "HER" how weird is that. !!!

Happy Anniversary Gill. 33 years since you met. I am sure you could get a SPONGE made before OH gets back, even if you can't bake a cake
