I don't think she's reached the boat yet Shelly. I think you can get an injection in your bum to stop you from being seasick on a cruise. Not that I've been on one, but lots of my friends go on cruises and they get the injection as soon as they go aboard.

Marilyn I asked hubby what he did to kill the other tree stumps and he said he put copper nails in them. So you know more than I know about it, I thought he'd poured something in them. Lack of communication again!

LOL Mo, sounds like you have to follow him around with your rubber gloves - even when he doesn't live with you.

Most of my friends say the same about their grown-up children, they seem to rebel against being brought up in a clean tidy house.

Rita Report 6 Mar 2010 13:33

Reading your remarks about killing tree stumps with copper nails. I had a very large garden when I lived in Norfolk and grew lots of plants including Rhododendrons and used copper filings and copper nails to change the colour of the flowers to blue burying them around the roots. I had some really lovely one all blue.
The tree's I used a tar solution you put it into the hollow or holes in the stump.,
so I am wondering why my lovely bushes thrived and didnt die off.they were still flowring when I moved and I did this every few years to keep the colour.
Marilyn you are a gad about I didnt know you were going away AGAIN.
you must have itchy feet. I hope you have a good time . but you usually do.
Pauline how are you doing.
Shelly you were up late last night or should I say early this morning.

Cor blimey Marilyn, can you blame us for dropping a few swear words into the conversations, we are stuck here in this country after all.
I presume you flew to Hong - Kong. That is where my dad grew up,in Kowloon,I think it was called.
Enjoy yourselves, and don't get to drunk and fall overboard wiil you.
You are so right Pauline, this son is so different from the other four. I am sure I picked the wrong one up,from the hospital the day I left there.
Rita dont forget, our Shelly is a proper night owl. She comes to life, when we are all drooping with tiredness.
So what you doing today then Shelly. I bet you are out shopping.
What has happened to Sue lately, she has been very quiet.

GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL.

I am up have been for a hour now but I am still reading through your emails while I have been away on this thread sorry but I had to laugh at Marilyn and that Bird. we had a flock that did that in Norfolk and it was on the news it attacked everyone, and some of its mates did as well. The day I went for my driving test i had one leave his calling card on my head and shoulder the driving instructor who came with me said thats good luck. was it heck I failed. on not looking in my mirror the trouble was I had got into the habit of not turning my head.to look in the mirror but my eyes moved.so l knew what was behind me and at the side.
.

The sun is nice here this morning the only thing is the frost is still laying on the ground and the car tops so it must have been pretty bad . during the night.

Have a good day all. I am saying nothing to Marilyn I know she will have a good day. lucky thing.

Hi Yvonne and Mo
It is getting colder now I noticed it a few minutes ago. my heating comes on at 6.30 so I wont put it on till then.
I hope you mean an Indian meal Yvonne.I dont like Indian food but all the family do I find it too spicy for me.
I had a pork chop roast potatos and cauliflower carrots and broccli for my dinner I really went to town on it. I have mostly Italian food at my sisters she cooks it beautifully her late mother in law taught her so it is the real stuff.
I have done quiet a bit of my book today as well so I am pleased about that.
I am going to have a sit back and watch TV tonight I like Sunday Nights TV.
Have good rest Mo if you have been out to your club.

Morning Rita, I haven't ran off, just been busy. Don't know about the others though - I think Sue and Lady have ran off with toy-boys, they haven't been on for ages.

Marilyn and Linda are both away sunning themselves and I think Shelly will be at work.

Yvonne might have a hangover and Mo might be at her new job.

Liz will have been up most of the night and has probably gone to bed now.

Well my friends, whats going on around here lately.
It looks like we have been deserted.
We don't see very much off the others lately. Sue must have run off with her farrier.
Shelly's stuck on her new suite, all relaxed and chilled out.
Marilyn is sunning herself on deck, somewhere between Australia and New Zealand.
Linda is also sunning herself, lucky devil.
Yvonne and Lady must both be working.
And Liz has got her therapist this afternoon.
I went shopping this morning, and nearly froze to death. So Rita do not go out unless you have to,it's far to cold out there.

Rita

Rita Report 8 Mar 2010 14:59

Mo your too late I went out. I did the washing then went out to take a perscription to the doctors for renewal.and boy was it cold.. I took some books into the charity shop called into Waitrose and got some rolls and some washing up ligure ( NOT TO USE IN THE ROLL'S. )
i WAS FREEZING WHEN i GOT HOME.
I was not in a good mood either while I was away on holiday it appears the drains needed seeing too. they smelt terrible.so some of the residents asked the estate manager if she would get them seen too this was last wednesday. she said she would. of course I came back from my hoilday to a terrible smell near my front door,
So this morning I asked her why she had not had them seen too ?her reply was she had phoned the man and he had urgent jobs on Thursday.
Friday and saturday this morning he told her he would come Tuesday meanwhile I cannot have a window open or go outside with out something covering my nose.. I have told her if he is not here tomorrow I will phone the health people as it is a health hazzard,
I dont think she beleives I will but I am not putting up with this.
Dont you think I have a right to tell her.this.

My lord Rita, you have every right to complain. You pay your rent on time,so why should you have to suffer the stink. And also maybe put your own health at risk. Knowing you and your luck,if anything is going around, you would be like me and catch it Get on that phone first thing and report it.
What is the warden thinking off, putting you all at risk like that.
She's a stupid mare. I bet if it was affecting herself, she would hurry things up.

Rita

Rita Report 8 Mar 2010 19:11

Mo she does not like it because I stick up for myself and others here she has been here two years and is polish and about 33 years old. she wont push the contracters she asks them and they say we are busy we will come in the week sometime and she leaves it at that.
she is not a warden now they changed the tittle to Estate Manager she wont help you do anything not put a bulb in your light or a battery in your fire alarm you have to call the fire brigade out to fit that. or ask a man if he will put a light bulb in for you.
I had a friend call this afternoon she said what is that terrible smell I told her I said I have to wear a scarf around my nose and mouth when I go out because my immue system is such that I can catch anything quickly having the cancer injections every so many months.
But I am going to phone the Health council tomorrow if he does not come in the morning to do it. .
It is sewrage that is smelling and the loos are not block or the main drain so it must be either a burst underground pipe or a leak of some sort in the main sewer pipe

Rita my love. She is still in charge, and she should be doing her job properly.
People like her,who take the money and dont do the job,are two a penny.
YOU come first, dont let her get away with Jack S**t.
Sorry Rita,I am not having a go at you,but the likes off her really P me off.
When my mum was in sheltered housing, she had a brilliant warden, who cared for the tenants like her own family. And thats how it should be.

Hi all, Rita, good for you, sticking up for your rights! If there is no one working on those drains by ten, phone the health people and also whoever is in charge of the complex you live in, i.e. whoever pays that silly beggar's wages!

A drain blocked near here last year, it was found to be wet wipes that the neighbour had been using for his grandson's toilet training, those ridiculous Kando ones I think, he said it said on the box flushable but the Water people put a notice on tv and in the paper saying that blockages were happening all too often and mostly down to wet wipes.

You can stress your medical problems and tell them to explain to your doctor if you get ill from the smell etc.

Good luck and hope the smell is nicer really soon.
