That's a shame Jane, but like the big one the other end of our village if it's in phases you will have your nice outlook for a while yet. I bet Fitz isn't so impressed with them starting near where he is. He's in such a lovely spot. It's good when you see an enjoyable film, but I think we could do with a bit of that heat in our cinema. I like borlotti beans in a cassoulet type stew. Yes it is OH that is changing his car Maureen. It's done a lot of mileage now, the boot lid won't hold up on it's own, his foot has worn a hole in the carpet, light bulbs keep popping and the seatbelts have lost their recoil!! Apart from that it's fine!! How is your bedroom now? All finished or are you still waiting for the carpet to go down?
OH got the boarding up in the loft yesterday to look at the wiring around the smoke alarm. It was a right game sliding the tongue and groove board out but he managed it. He looked all under the insulation around it and there was no mouse, nor any in the traps. The wiring looked fine as far as he could tell and the connections are all under a fixed cover, so it looks like it will remain a mystery for now.
Ruby, I used to pick all spiders up years ago and it never bothered me a bit, even the big ones. The only thing I couldn't bear was them sitting on the bedroom ceiling above me in bed at night! Nowadays I don't do it as we have started getting foreign spiders here including the false widow and I think black widows too. I don't want to make any mistakes in identity!!
Mel, I thought Mr Fox would be back but not this soon! It looks like you will have to get him somehow if you are to let your bantams out again. As for those bunnies, they are a nuisance aren't they. Do they actually chew through the wire?
Keep your spirits up Gill, it just needs 1 person to love your place and I'm sure someone will. I think that is a huge drop in price too. I thought house prices were going back up now. It's a good idea getting the window fixed, first impressions count and people notice the negatives. I have thought about using those people who demist your existing windows, but sometimes the condensation in the middle leaves little stains on the glass and I can't see how they could get rid of those as well by doing that. I suppose it depends on how bad they are.
OH has donned his cold weather garb and gone 50 miles north to a match in Derbyshire.

The chicken netting is nylon sort of stuff but has thin wires running through it too all twisted together. It should be electrified but it kills the frogs and toads and the hedgehogs so we hav'nt had it on the leccy for years now. The rabbits would'nt chew it if it was on the mains or they would light up in the dark. Also if it was on the mains the chickens would'nt put their heads through to eat the grass outside the run and so would'nt pop through the holes made by the rabbits. You just can't win!! I have a small mobile unit which rund by battery and I may put that on one side that they bite most and see if that deters them. Would'nt mind but this in the new netting oh bought me and it is'nt cheap!! :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Oh no Jane, is it your turn for no heating now???? British Gas were quick to respond. At least you won't be without heating for long, so long as a new part isn't needed to be ordered. Lucky you have the wood burner.
Thanks Ann for your kind words, I'm starting to feel a bit down with it all now. I'm just hoping reducing the price so much, might just get us a buyer.
Off to bed myself now Night Night

Oh no Jane! :-S I dread that sort of thing happening especially when it's this cold. It is a good job you have the woodburner as Mel says and the cooker would warm the kitchen. Maybe it is just the pump and will be quick to swap. Hope you are nice and warm in bed now.......fancy Chris saying it was your imagination!!!!! lol.
As you say, you can't win with the wire can you Mel. Little blighters!!!
I've never heard that rhyme before. :-)
Gill, I remember what it was like selling my last house, you just can't relax, time drags, yet you need to act as if none of it matters when you show people round. I remember thinking they may think I was desperate if I seemed over anxious and that something may be wrong. It's a nerve wracking time. I was sure one viewer would buy. She said the place was perfect, wanted to have boarding kennels in the big garden.......never heard from her again!! I think now you have dropped the price it should be within more people's reach which is bound to help.. <3
Off to bed now..........zzzzzzzzzz

Evening all, Just popping in before bed.
While Ros was shopping this morning. I got stuck into getting the Spag Bol ready. When she got home, she said I was going to do that to give you a day off. I said I couldn't let her do the shopping and cooking,!!! so got on with it. She did make an apple crumble for afters with custard.
Oh no Jane not you now. These boilers/central heating have been a pain in the bum these past weeks. MINE IS FINE :-D :-D :-D
Chin up Gill, I am sure you will get a buyer soon.
Ruby, a poor little spider hobbling around your bathroom. Leave out a couple of match sticks. HE could make himself a pair of crutches :-D :-D :-D
I have always been the spider catcher in the house. When we lived at Gayton. I came home one evening with Ros, and as I opened the front door a voice was calling. It was Conrad. I went upstairs to his bedroom, and there was the biggest BLACK SPIDER I have seen on his bedroom wall. I was a bit wary of picking it up, so smacked in with a shoe. Conrad was sat on his bed petrified :-( :-( :-(
Mel, Lets hope one of you get mr/mrs fox, so the bantams can come out to play again soon.
Looking forward to a good nights sleep tonight. See you in the morning. GOOD NIGHT.

Morning Jane and all, Evening Kim.
You are an early bird this morning Jane, like me yesterday. Have you heard when BG will be with you to sort the boiler ? I know you say how good they are. WELL THE DO GIVE OLD PEOPLE PRIORITY :-D :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Home alone today with "TED " as company. They are at "Stitchery do" down the Chapel, where it is warmer than the Scout Hut. They will be going back up there when is warms up in the Spring.
We started off with snow flakes, while I laid in bed with my tea (Isn't she a good wife??) I was in bed by 11.00 last night and slept like a log, until I woke with the dreaded cramp in the back of my left leg. It is still sore now, you should see me hobbling around !!!
On the news this morning I heard that a load of ferry cars got stuck in SNOW in SANTANDER Spain. The drivers had to be rescued, so what's going on , are we going to get a server February and March. ???
The Easterly wind is starting to turn to the north, so I think we will be in for a very cold day.
Stay warm whatever you are doing, KEEP THE LOG BURNER GOING JANE !!!

Morning all
Doing a Frank now Jane, getting up early lol
Hope your leg feels better soon Frank, maybe you could put a hot water bottle on it, the warmth might help. Have you tried Crampex or can't you take it with your Meds. My mum swears by it and says it's really good for cramp.
Well, I had a call from the glass people and yes you've guessed it, silly me forgot to ask about them removing the mist again. So it's booked in for the 16th Feb to be replaced. It's toughened glass and very big but only cost £280 including VAT with a 10 year guarantee. I was expecting it to cost a lot more than that as OH was quoted £200 as a foreigner off one of his mates and that wouldn't of included the guarantee. I'd rather pay the extra £80 and have something to show to any new buyers.
Well, I'm going to make a start on this place and get it ready for the viewing I have today. BBL <3

morning all and evening Kim,
Not so cold here today and the birds are singing their heads off.
Got up late today and I wanted to be up early to go shopping as I need to go to Bideford.
Is it still snowy where you are now Jane? Hope you get that boiler done soon.
Frank it is horrid after you have had cramp as the limb seems to ach all the next day. I don't think they really know what causes cramp but I may be wrong.

Hi again
Just a quick question from Sandra.
Could she have some of your snow Jane and Frank because she feels like making a snowman and we haven't got any snow here :-D :-D :-D :-D.
Not much to do for the viewing, so I'm chatting with Michelle online for a bit, before getting back to sorting this place out.
I worked out the VAT on the window and if we were to go with OH mate we'd only save ourselves £40 and have no guarantee, so I think I've made the right call on this one. At least I hope so because OH doesn't know I've booked it in yet and the glass has to be made to measure. Hope I've done the right thing :-S :-S

Afternoon all,
Nice and sunny here and no frost this morning for a change, we had quite a few snow showers yesterday but it didn't lay as the ground was wet .
I hope they soon sort your heating out Jane ,not a good time of the year to be with out heat ,at least you have the wood burner ,we wouldn't be with out ours now it really throws out the heat .
Hubby's still painting ,it's beginning to look good now with the colour on the walls ,i think he's under coating the skirting now ,then it's the gloss !! i hate the smell of the gloss paint .
I hope you have some luck today Gill with the viewing , will keep fingers crossed for you. Sorry we've no snow here to sent Sandra today :-D
