I'm the same as you Amanda I can't take the smell of gloss paint. OH has found one that has a low odour and never seems to go yellow which is good. Have you tried cutting an onion up and putting it in the room. It needs to be cut through it's furry bottom lol. It works.
I've just been going through my emails and noticed the Sand Art one you sent Ann. It's really good.
I'm still chatting with Michelle so I'd better go BBL

Good morning everyone,
No sign of the spider yet Jane, but I have seen a couple of daddy long legs - I ignore them.
Mel, we used to put friends' name in that rhyme;
So and so has a bunion, A face like a pickled onion, A nose like a squashed tomato, And feet like flat fish.
LOL
Jane, I bet if you did a series of exercises it would warm you up. Get down on the floor and do some bicycling for a while. :-D
Come to think of it, that might help with your leg cramps Frank :-D :-D <3 Hope the heat is repaired today Jane - I would be miserable without heat. I do have gas logs though, so wouldn't freeze.
Hope you're all enjoying your day. I'm leaving shortly to go and stay with my baby for a few hours. His nanny wants to go and get her hair permed.

Oh I wish we has the snow for Sandra to make her family :-D.But it didn't last long.it is just fine freezing rain now. The Gas Man will be here in about 20-30 minutes.I think he is the same one that came last time and he is lovely.Lets hope he can fix whatever is wrong. I have just had the oven on with the door open for a while as my hands were so cold when I was in there heating up some soup. The lounge is the only warm place.
Chris is ok as he has gone out for lunch .Lucky boy.
Frank has Ted let you stroke him today?it's been a while since he came to stay for a while with you..I bet he is hoping for some nice treats :-D :-D
I better go and unlock the garage door and get the kettle on.This chap is driving over from Brixwoth.

No sign of snow here Gill, lovely bright sunshine but very cold. Fingers crossed for the next lot of viewings, just when you are about to give up on it someone will come along and want to buy.
The bedroom is finished Ann but I am still waiting for son's friend to come round with samples so won't be moving back in this weekend. Then I am going to do the hallway, it's only small but has three doors not counting the front door which will never need painting.
I hope the gas man can fix the heating Jane. At least you have warmth in the lounge.
I guess that is one drawback to living in a warmer country, like Kim too all those deadly spiders and snakes. I didn't know some had migrated here Ann, I shall be a bit more wary come the summer.
Need to get all this DIY stuff back in the front shed now and get on with a bit more art painting.

All CROSSED JANE, Afternoon all. You wouldn't believe my luck. after Ros went out, I was about to go and get showered and shaved, when I came over all queer. I was HOT and COLD within minutes of each other. It's been like it all day. I am in joggers and T shirt with my big dressing gown on, and a big box of tissues. I have a carrier bag to put the tissues in. I can't be bothered getting up and down to flush them away. I can then tie the bag up and it can go in the black bin.
Ted has been and gone. NOT ONCE did he let me stroke him. But I did give him some food and chew sticks.
Ruby, I can just see Jane's little legs going round and round. It would scar poor Chris. to death
Have been sleeping on and off all day. So hope I sleep tonight.
Glad all the decoration is going along fine Maureen. Your sons friend is taking his time ain't he. lol
What time is the viewing Gill,?? Sorry no snow here to pass on, Everywhere is grey skies and we have had rain. SORRY !!! :-D :-D :-D

Well it is all a mystery. He couldn't find anything wrong with the pump or the boiler .But we are up and running again (at the moment).BUT he has discovered a valve that needs to be replaced .it is something to do with an overflow thing. But he says that is nothing to do with whey everything shut down.So tomorrow afternoon he will be back to change that.We just need to keep n eye on the heating tonight and make a note of time if it should go off. He made me laugh as he says our house is engrained in his head.I think most of the engineers know our house well. The last time this particular chap was here was when we had the leak under the kitchen floor and we had all the dehumidifiers etc .I just told him I didn't want to hear the word LEAK :-D........Then he had to show me the leaky valve lol But it is now getting lovely and warm :-D
Oh dear Frank. You must have quite a drippy nose to be going through all those tissues :-(..As for my little legs ;-) they haven't had to do the peddle :-D I hope your hot and cold episodes don't carry on to long. It is strange how Ted doesn't let you give him a pet isn't it.He must be used to you by now..Maybe like you said before maybe he was ill treated or something by a man at some time. But he does seem to be quite happy coming to you which is a good thing.
Test drive tomorrow morning :-D.Chris will be the back seat passenger !! :-D I know it has been cold in the house today but I thought outside was really really cold even though nothing was frozen. The clouds are clearing away now and it is almost a clear sky.So I reckon a really cold night might be in store. I must remember to empty the airing cupboard ready for the Gas man tomorrow.I only keep towels in there so that will be easy .
Maureen are you pleased with the paint colour? Bet you are glad it is finished now.It seems you are never without a paintbrush in your hand these days :-D Whether it's for work or pleasure.
I hope the viewing today has gone well Gill. What time was it?I am sure it is all getting you down. But keep your pecker up ,I'm sure you will get an offer soon :-)
Mel did you get to Bideford today?Do you ever go on the Pannier Market day..I seem to remember my Aunty Joyce always going on a Tuesday. Heating still on :-D :-D

Here I am surviving another shopping day in Bideford.
Just having a cuppa oh made me. It was'nt very busy in orr*sons till I was finished and then every check out had a que, typical.........
Got everything on my list except the one thing that was'nt on there and that was wraps for oh. Forgot to go to the garage too.
Parked down town along the front first to go to B**ts to get my Joint Ace did they have any again??????? NO not even one pack like last time I went in there so that was parking money wasted as I only needed those.
No snow here Gill I was asking Jasne if she still had any. We've not had any settle here really at all. Only a bit at night and that goes when the sun comes up.
Banties are still looking forlorn shut up in their coup.
Shame Ted did'nt let you stroke him today Frank. Perhaps last time his owner was there and he felt safer.

Afternoon All,
What a miserable dull wet day here. I don't think the rain/sleet has stopped all day. We decided to go to 'Bud*ies' for a small brekkie then on up the M1 to J28 and the retail park with the M*S factory shop. I got a nice, very thin cardie in a grey colour, not too hot for me and ideal for summer evenings or chillier days on holiday. I also got 2 bras (not Sadie ones!) and a book with an account about life in the Workhouse! OH doesn't know what he wants for his birthday next month so I got him some sketc*er shoes and 2 shirts he saw and liked. I think I will also get him some rubber mats for the front of his new car to put over the the others when he goes to footie. They will help keep the mud he picks up off everything!!! I'll also be booking a meal for him so that should about do it! After we finished shopping, we went in the food hall and had jacket pots with a nice cuppa before coming back before the traffic built up.
I loved the Marriage email Frank!! :-D Ted obviously wasn't in the mood for petting today. I bet he took the treats ok though. It would be nice to see a pic of him and of JJ when you look after him. :-) It sounds like you are feverish, going hot and cold like that, especially as you are getting through the tissues!! Rest and recuperation methinks!!
Jane, that is a mystery with your heating? It sounds a bit like our smoke alarm, you don't know the cause or if/when it might happen again. It must be nice to be warm and cosy everywhere again now though. OOOps edit just saw your post that it's off again!! It's a good job he's coming back tomorrow.
Your hubby's getting on well with the painting Mandy and it must be nice to see how it's looking now. Some paints for wood make my eyes run and doesn't the smell seem to spread all through the house!
I hope your son's friend soon comes up with some samples for you Maureen so you can get straight in there again. Our little hall might have to be done again........when OH was in the loft the other day I noticed a gouge in the wall that needs a bit of attention. I think it must have been done by the workmen that came to seal the flue in the loft. I might fill and sand it first and paint just that bit to see how it looks. It is all white in there and I know I have some of the same paint.
I think the Black Widows only get here from abroad by accident Maureen, but the False Widows have spread up the country from the south coast. Their bite is venomous usually just causing swelling, but still not nice!! I wouldn't know one if I saw one.
OH's trapper hat is in demand!! Someone at footie last night wanted one and asked where he got it. lol. His young pal he took with him has taken to calling him 'Biggles' now.

Have done Mel but it won't keep going until the morning :-S :-S :-S.Just been out with the head lamp on to get the oil radiator in from the summerhouse. That is a good one and can chuck out some heat. The tiny one we have in here is rubbish.Hardy warms your big toe :-S
We are thinking it might be something electrical So it will be all day again tomorrow without heating as the B G man isn't coming until later in the afternoon. They say it is going to be bitter tomorrow :-S.
I won't mention my washing machine which on a spin cycle is moving and shaking all over the blooming place :-S.Hey Ho life is great :-D

Oh no Jane , good job the chap is coming back tomorrow, you don't want to be with out heat ,strange he carn't find out what's wrong , perhaps it is electrical ,hope he can sort it so your not with out heat over the week end ,that's handy that you have one of those electric radiators ,we had thought about getting one of those portable gas heaters that you can move from room to room ,they are handy if the electric goes off and throw out lots of heat .
Oh Ann , hubby's started a trend :-D everyone wants a hat like his :-D Does anyone wear Balaclavas any more ....other than robbers :-S i'am sure i had a knitting pattern for one once :-D
Hope your soon feeling better Frank, sounds as if you've got a nasty chill into you ,keep in the warm and rest up ,Ros's turn to be nursemaid now <3

I just rang B Gas to see it they can flag up our boiler failure for our engineer so that he is aware .He did mention getting in the Technical Bods if it failed again. and it is definitely all dead :-S....I could swear like a trooper right now :-D :-D...I am ;-)

Those gas heaters do throw a lot of heat out Mandy. The lady at the garden centre tearooms uses them as there is no other heating in the tearoom. We would be stuck for heat, the shower and hot water if our boiler went on the blink. We have a small gas fire in the lounge and some electric fan heaters but as you say they are no use if the electric goes off. It makes you realise how much you depend on your boiler.
I never thought I'd hear 'OH' and 'trendsetter' in the same sentence!!! lol. :-D He was wearing a flat cap (I don't like it) the other day and I told him he reminded me of my grandad!! He takes no notice of me though.....water off a duck's back. :-)
Better sort my beads I need for tomorrow now. It's another one with chain and leather so I hope it turns out better than the last one. :-S

I think it is going to be a quick shower now and another early night with my Kindle....At least I am getting through this book :-D

Evening all
Sorry folks I thought you all had snow.
How is your leg now Frank. I hope you manage to get a better nights sleep tonight, there's nothing worse than being woken up with cramp and then being sore the following day. Now you have a rotten cold by the sounds of it. Hope you start feeling better soon.
That was quick Maureen, painting your room, I bet you can't wait for the carpet to go down then it'll all be finished and looking great, then it's on to your hall.
Sorry to hear your heating has gone off again Jane. What a nuisance, let's hope it can be fixed soon for you. At least you have BG coming back tomorrow, have you rang them to let them know it's gone off again ?? It's strange he couldn't find the fault.
I do have some good news finally. The Agent rang before and there is someone who wants a second viewing on our bungalow. She viewed it last September and has now had an offer made on her place so wants to come and see ours again.
So I now have two viewing's tomorrow, a Miss Williams at 2pm and a Mr and Mrs Williams at 3pm. (No relation to each other) I'm quite excited now, after feeling so low about it all. It's certainly a roller-coaster ride, this selling properties business.
Our Agent is now looking for something for us to buy, he seems to think the second viewing is good. We've had second and third viewing's before and nothing came of it, so lets hope it's better news this time round.
The viewing today went well, the fella was so funny and kept making lots of jokes. He asked lots of questions and liked the garden. They are in the process of putting there's on the market with the same Agent as us, so aren't in a position to buy yet, but at least we all had a laugh.
His wife said I was very good at showing people around and that she hopes she's as good when they have a viewing on their place on Saturday. I was so chuffed when she complimented me. It was also nice to be able to give them a date when the window was being replaced too and to tell them there was a 10 year guarantee, which they seemed impressed with.
So all in all I've had a good day :-D :-D :-D. Let's hope tomorrow is good too and the second viewing results in an offer. Fingers crossed.
