Frank Report 5 Feb 2015 21:00

Just popping in before bed.

I am sweating like a pig, and using so many tissues. I have slept most of the evening, so hope I sleep tonight.

Sorry to hear about the heating Jane, wrap up warm and cuddle up to Chris tonight. !!

Never had a HOT water bottle, always cold cotton sheets, with lino floors when I was young. Ice on the inside as well as the outside in the winter. Cold won't do you ant harm MY MUM WOULD SAY.

Bunged up to the eyebrows and a thumping headache, so I'm off to bed.

Excellent news Gill. :-D If they are that keen, they will be concerned your place may get snapped up after your price drop so hopefully will decide quickly. My fingers are crossed for you. How nice of the lady to compliment you showing them around. That will have given your confidence a boost knowing you are doing a good job of it. Things seem to be looking up for you.

Oh dear Frank, what a shame you getting the bug now after managing not to catch it from Ros. I hope you get a good night's sleep. <3

Frost and oh said at 5.45am this morning it snowed. Did it? said I, yes he said about 7 flakes. It is brilliant sunshine now and clear blue skies.

We've had our visit from the 10 female pheasents this morning so they have gone off up the orchard with full belly's.

Morning/Evening All

No Mel it is so cold. The man won't be back until later this afternoon..I have a feeling that we might not even get it sorted today :-S.I wish Chris would shut some doors!!!.The lounge is not bad because we kept the oil Rad on all night ,but each time he comes in or out he lets all the warmth escape :-D :-D

Right we are off to have this test drive now so will be back a little later.

Frank Report 6 Feb 2015 10:58

Morning my friends, and evening Kim.

Had a reasonable night until the BL###y cramp got me again. There I was trying to get out of bed at 3.55 and Ros just rolled over. I know there was nothing she could do, BUT a little word of comfort would have been nice.

What a frost last night, the roads and paths were still covered at 9.15 when I got up.

Head is still swimming and I am getting the HOT FLUSHES. Is it that time in my life :-D :-D :-D :-D I thought it was just for women.

Ros was so COLD in the night she got up and put on socks and her dressing gown. I didn't notice a thing.

Going to stay put this weekend. So I will have to watch Saturdays match at home.

How did it go last night Gill ??? Hope it went well. !!

Jane, why don't you have a word with Chris about the doors. Ros is terrible, every time she goes in the kitchen the door is left open. I just "SHOUT" DOOR !!!

See you later, Pheasant for the freezer soon then MEL lol

No pheasent for the freezer Frank we just like to see them and we feed them to keep them in the garden and away from the guns over the back field.

Oh is the same with doors. He leaves them open and I shut them. In fact he has done it now, gone off with his coffee I made him and left the door open.

He told me once that his children would slam the doors so he took all the doors off their hinges. He said that cured that.................. :-P

Iv'e been meaning to say that when I went to Holsworthy the last week along the road there were daffs out in bloom and at Land Cross yesterday they were flowering there too. Mine in the garden are about 6" tall but no flowers yet.

Maureen Report 6 Feb 2015 13:53

At least you've been getting plenty of sleep Frank, just keep in the warm and dose yourself up, have a few tots of whisky, that should help.

Oh dear Jane, this is the worst time for your heating to be on the blink I hope they can sort it out today. I love a hot water bottle, my feet get really cold and it's heaven to sit with a hot water bottle on them, don't care if I get chilblains rather them than cold fee.

Well the carpet man popped in with samples yesterday, it's so hard to choose from a little bit of carpet and he brought so many, have narrowed it down to two think it will depend on price now.

So glad you had a good day yesterday Gill with the viewings, fingers crossed an offer will be on the table soon.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2015 16:45

Afternoon everyone.
Still cold here :-S.But the engineer is here and the heating is on again for now.He is waiting for another person to get here as it is still a mystery :-S

i will be getting the new car on Wednesday :-D..It is just over a year old with 14k miles on the clock.I am having rear parking sensors put in.It is black .i don't think I would have picked that colour if there had been a choice but there was just another black one.Because the model has only been on the market for about 18months they haven't got many coming back for resale yet.It drives very nicely and is nice and comfy.Lots of things i will have to work out how to use like the sat nav ,hands free phone thingy and other things..I probably won't use half of it :-S

Frank I bet Ros thought she might get a mouthful if she said anything when you had your cramp in the night :-D ;-).....i hope you are feeling a bit better this afternoon with your nasty cold.

How has it gone this afternoon Gill? They must have been and gone by now :-D

The other man is here now.I will go and see if he wants a drink....I can hear a bit of tapping going on and tool noises :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2015 16:53

I hope they get it sorted for you now Jane. Not long to wait now for your new car!! What did Chris think of it?

Perhaps Gill is inundated with viewings........ I hope so and maybe she can get a buter quickly. Was this the lady from Oxford coming today?

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2015 18:24

I think the lady from Oxford is next week Mel.Gill said the agent got the dates mixed up.
Well our nice young man has gone. The heating is still on..........
Oh no it's not Chris just called me and it's gone phutt already :-S :-S :-S
This is getting silly now.I think a drink is order .
Have just sent him a text to let him know............He has rung back to say another man will be out tomorrow.....Hey Ho ! These things are certainly sent to try us :-| :-|
So we have plugged in the Oil Rads again.Trouble is is will be so cold upstairs .
Jess is arriving tonight and she is always cold. She will get a shock lol.
I better stick the immersion heater on so at least we will have hot water .

Maureen those samples are never big enough are they.Piddly little things. But at least you are down to 2 choices :-D

Mel, Chris thought the car was fine.He sat in the back and said there was plenty of leg room and it was comfy.he isn't a car person really .If it goes thats good LOL..I had a good long drive in it,but did sayI thought it was pulling slightly to the left. The rep had a look at the tyres when we finished and thought it looked like it needed a bit more air in the front one.All I need to do is take the new insurance details in .The money has gone from our account so it's all paid for....The Tax on it is only £30 per year.Mine now costs £205 per year !!!!!
People are hungry here now so I must crack on with din dins

MillymollyAmanda Report 6 Feb 2015 18:57

Evening all,

It's been a lovely sunny day today ,we didn't light the fire until after lunch and that was only because son was calling in with Lacey and we thought she might be cold ,although we do the the central heating on first thing in the morning ,son has been calling in most afternoons for a cuppa before he goes to get the children from school .

Oh no Jane , you must have one heck of a problem with the boiler if the men carn't find out what is wrong !! very odd .
Did you get a new hot water bottle ? sounds as if you might need it !!
Not long to wait for the car then :-D good saving with the car tax too.
Have the rats gone ? hubby was saying this afternoon he thinks some thing has been gnawing at the bottom of the wooden frame round the shed door :-S i had a look and there's a little pile of gnawed bits of wood :-S he's going to fill the bottom with some concrete tomorrow .

Paintings all finished in the bedroom , i want to just get the carpet cleaner out and go over the carpet before we move back in .

Mel any more sightings of foxy ? lets hope he has moved on and doesn't come back for your girls .
Hows the tooth ache ?

Wonder how Gills viewing have gone today .

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2015 19:58

Mandy ,I should have thought to buy a hot water bottle .but I didn't :-S
I think the trouble is likely to be in the workings in the airing cupboard rather than the actual boiler. But who knows.I just hope they manage to sort it out ...I still stand by what I say about Britis* Ga* they have been brilliant ....We have actually managed to get it going again by pressing some boost button on the new clock .But whether it will continue to work we will wait and see.

That is good that you are nearly ready to move back into your bedroom .It 's so nice to get back in your own bed again

Well the Rat Boxes still have bait in today .So that is a good sign.We will check them again tomorrow. But I think there must be lots of the little critters about :-S :-S

Annx

Annx Report 6 Feb 2015 20:20

Evening All,

Yes, I'm always saying 'shut the door' too!! Then in the summer when you want them open and some air movement through the place he'll be shutting them!! lol.

Oh Jane I think I would be really fed up with the boiler now!! I wonder why they can't find out what's wrong with it? :-S Just when it's really cold weather as well and you need it. Jess will just have to wrap herself around James. ;-)

You did well to get a 12 month old car, with it being a recent model and still with lots of warranty left. OH is like Chris and not fussed or interested as long as a car does what he wants without too many gadgets.......but he does like it to be red if possible!! I have things on my car I've never used like the cruise control or speed limiter or the bluetooth. OH told me I would still go prison if it was found I had killed someone by being distracted on a handsfree and it put me off so I just never bother with it. :-0 My and OH's car tax is £120, his new one is NIL. It's nice that some car costs are going down :-)

Maureen, it is hard to imagine a small carpet bit in a size to cover the floor! Maybe the price will help you decide as you say.

We went to see Shaun the Sheep movie this afternoon. A little boy about 3 walked in holding his mum's hand and was all eyes looking all around him in wonder. As he started up the stairs near us he piped up in a concerned little voice 'mum, where have they put the telly?' LOL. It had us chuckling for ages after. It must have been his first visit to the cinema and his mum had probably told him he was seeing Shaun like on the telly!! The film was ok but not as funny as I thought it would be.......I even nodded of for a short while, but OH didn't notice. :-S

Frank, it sounds like you have a good dose of it. :-S Hopefully resting will help and being tucked up with footie on the telly tonight will be better than being out in the cold. <3

Oh Mandy, those pesky rats seem to be back don't they. You will have to give them the 'treatment' again. It's a good idea to freshen the bedroom carpet up while you have the furniture moved and it will be easier.

Yes Mel, how's the tooth? Have you tried salty water rinses? That is supposed to help if there is any infection.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2015 21:19

"Shut that door" Larry Grayson :-D :-D
"I don't believe it" (dear oldVictor Meldrew) that is what we are saying right now.We have got the heating on !!!!!.Chris just pressed the boost button on the controls in the airing cupboard and it has been going since then.We now need to wait until 10.30 when the heating is timed to go off and see if it goes off !!!!!!.I am having to turn the radiator down now in the lounge :-S....It is doing our heads in lol

Ann ,how sweet the little boy asking where the telly was :-D.I hope he enjoyed his first time at the pictures..Chris ,Fitz and I are going to see Paddington a week on Wednesday :-D.3 big kids !!.Then I think the one after that is Selma.

No Tax ..sounds brilliant on the new car
:-D
