I'll try again, AFTERNOON ALL.
Most beautiful day here today. I have been out to put the bins out for tomorrow, and the sun is quite warm.
I am thinking of going out for a walk a bit later. It seems too nice to stay indoors .
Ros is at hospital tomorrow morning for her biopsy. Carol has offered to take her, as she won't be able to drive after it. I have my testosterone injection on Thursday. (I think I have to have them for life) It's a shortage in my body.. Then of course Friday we are at the funeral (FRIDAY 13th)
Heard from Jan this morning in Torquay. The Window people wanted £2,900 up front to put the new windows in the lounge. Which she paid. The BASTARD. hasn't even ordered the windows, and has gone BUST. I am going to advise her to contact the police as it's STEALING with intent to defraud. Plus I think she should go the SMALL CLAIMS COURT and take out an order against him.
They are just beginning to get on their feet, when this happens. :-( :-( :-(
Will keep you posted.

Gosh Frank thats awfull. I would never pay upfront for anything. Perhaps part but not the whole lot. I hope there is something that can be done to get their money back.
Oh has mowed all the grass today. I got on with some jobs inside while I had the house to myself.
Been up to collect our scripts.
Sun still out but it is colder out there now than it was this morning.

I had very strong words with Conrad, over paying up front for the windows. He said that the referral came from Jan's BIL who owns 40 houses in the area, and this firm has carried out all his window and door work. Conrad has been in touch with the Administrator and it seems THEY will get the windows supplied but will have to get them fitted. I HOLD MY BREATH. !!!. I lost my RAG with him for being so trusting, and to NEVER, NEVER PAY UP FRONT FOR ANYTHING. I hope it's not water off a ducks back.
I went for a walk, to cool down. After doing a circuit of the village I called in at the Village Hall, where on Monday and Wednesday between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm a few of the "OLDER RESIDENTS" play carpet bowls. I sat and watch for half an hour, and was invited to join them anytime. The annual cost of £6.00 membership and a contribution of £1.50 per session towards the Village hall hire. Tea and biscuits included in your £1.50. So not bad to get me out for a couple of hours. I might give it a try, provided I don't fall over when I bend down to bowl :-D :-D :-D
The sun has been quite warm this afternoon. Like your OH MEL, If it's like this tomorrow, I might give my lawns a trim, while Ros is at the hospital. She won't know what I am doing, so won't be able to tell me off ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3
Beautiful sky out there this evening. I expect it to get colder now.
Broad Church on tonight, so you might see me back later.
Cold Pork, chips and Baked beans with a little curry powder tonight, so nice and easy.

Oh Gill I'm sorry you feel so poorly.Hopefully tomorrow will see you feeling a lot better. How frustrating getting no feedback .It's important for you to know what people have thought about your property .The good points and bad.
Frank that is awful for Jan to have lost all that money.I know we had to pay quite a hefty deposit when we had our windows done. Was it a big company? We tend to go with the more well known ones for bigger jobs like windows as usually there is less likelihood of them going bust.(well that is what he have hoped anyway). I feel very sorry for her and Conrad :-(
So old Foxy is still about then Mel.Is it the same one that OH saw or do you think there might be more than the one about?
I will be off to bed very soon as I have been up and down most of last night with the trots ,and today :-S :-S.So i have felt pretty grotty today.I am going to have a small bit of dinner.mashed Potatoes,Brisket, beans and carrots.
So I will be back tomorrow now ,hopefully all back to normal and tickety boo :-D

Evening All,
Just been to see the film Selma which we thought was very good!
Oh my word Frank, what a shock! I never pay for anything upfront either. Just a deposit usually, although we did pay just for the kitchen units before the fitter fitted them as he could be left with them on his hands otherwise. They were delivered to us. Then paid him the fitting cost after we were happy with the work he did. I'm so twitchy When we have work done I even check companies house site to see if they are up to date with their accounts or have made a loss too......all clues they might not be doing well and be a risk!!
Did they pay by credit card? Silly not to if they could as there would be protection with being able to claim against the credit card company if they did. (even if only part of the payment was by credit card.) Here's a link that explains it.

Oh dear Gill I hope you soon feel better. It's no fun feeling unwell when you have house viewings to do and the house to keep spick and span for the visitors. I would have a word with the agent and get them to seek feedback from all the people who come to view and to let you know. It's all part of the service for what you pay them as far as I'm concerned. My nephew's still having tests but my sister's quite tearful and thinks it may be something serious. He's only 29 and he has a little boy aged two. I'm meeting up with her this week.
Mel, as you say, it wouldn't be a good idea at all for people to come down your long drive, especially if a few cars turned up at once! You would have to stay within earshot of the bungalow too which would be difficult with your big garden. That pesky fox is just going to hang around like a bad smell now isn't he!! :-S :-S Despite the embarrassment it's good Henry has been reunited with his pipe!!
The bowls sound like a good idea to try Frank. Even if you do have a wobble I bet there will be a few ladies only too willing to help you!! ;-)
Sorry to hear you've had the trots Jane. It can make you feel tired and wobbly so an early night is a good idea. Hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better in the morning.

Hope you have taken some Imod*um Jane. I expect you have. What do you think upset your tummy? A better nights sleep tonight will probably get you back into fighting spirit once again.
I think there could be two foxes Ann as they usually hunt at this time of year to feed the young. This one I think is a BIG dog fox or it has a huge coat on it. I did let the banties out for about an hour and a half this evening just before I corned them. They stayed around under the big ash tree first then went off onto the newer decking and had a good scratch around in the leaves on there and then onto the back grass. I was about in the garden while they were out for most of the time. Tidying the shed a bit and throwing stuff out left in there from when I did my rings.
Hope also Gill's cold is better tomorrow and she feels more up to viewings and don't forget to put your coat on!!!!!!!!!
Bowls sound like a good idea to me Frank. We used to have carpet bowls in the village hall regulary on a Tuesday evening but with foot and mouth the people foud somewhere else to play. That put paid to that. Shame because it was a little income for the hall.
Chicken casserole tonight with plenty of tiny mushrooms, carrots and corgettes and peas and mash. Nice and easy too. :-D :-D :-D

I'm still here.Just just got in before me there Frank......Lets hope that the least they get will be the windows !!!! is it windows for the WHOLE HOUSE?
Well done Ann for putting up that link for Frank. You are so good at knowing about all these things.I wouldn't think at all about looking into a company's accounts..I didn't even know you could actually do that.
We are going to see Selma too Ann.Not sure when, I just know we have tickets lol Tomorrow I will have to clear my car out ready to take to the garage on Wednesday. There isn't too much rubbish.I think 3 umbrellas !some loose change,an ice scraper or two and a Boot mat.....The remains of a Glastonbury Festival Car Park Sticker on the front windscreen (Hannah's fault) and I think that is about it :-D I have 2 men with tongues hanging out for food so I must get ready to dish up dinner.

No Mel I haven't taken any Immod**m .When I took it when I had the trouble in Suffolk it took me a week to get back to normal lol(if you know what I mean :-S)..If i had been going out then I would have taken it but being home all day and near a loo was fine :-D
Ann I am really sorry I missed your post about your Nephew having to go for tests. I'm not surprised at all that your sister is tearful .it must be such a worry for her.I hope that whatever the tests are for that it turns out to be nothing too serious.
Frank ,I hope the Biopsy tomorrow for Ros isn't going to be too painful or uncomfortable.I'm sure she is dreading going.I know I would, especially when it is in that delicate place.I will be thinking of her <3

Morning all and evening Kim,
Dull and dreary here today. We had quite a misty last night just before I went to bed I looked out to see if there was a frost as there had been earlier. I even went to bed early for me at 12.30am.
Thinking of Ros today and hope she gets on ok and it is not too uncomfortable a process.

Morning all, evening Kim,
What a dull old morning it is. Mist and fog, no sign of any broken cloud. I have been to the garage to the Tumble Dryer, and everywhere is damp. So no lawn cutting today :-( :-( :-(
Carol pick Ros up at 9.30 and dropped "TED" off, he is curled up in his chair fast asleep. Won't come near me for a stroke.
I expect Ros will be VERY SORE when she gets home. I have the heating on, so she can put her feet up on the sofa and rest and watch T.V. I will be on hand for anything she wants.
FELL out with Jane last night. !!! This window bloke said "if you pay cash, I will get the windows fitted for CHRISTMAS" So the silly woman believed him. I told her that I could do with my £2000.-00 rather than him having it. I am sure the Bugg#r knew what he was doing. He wanted cash for his CHRISTMAS, and didn't mind where he got it from. Now the administrator has to sort it out. She wouldn't listen when I told her she should go to the police, even thought she agreed it was THIEFT and FRAUD.
While I have been on here Ros has come home. The doctor Mrs Woo was so pleased with the results of the treatment, that she didn't need to do the biopsy. Now she can wait on me today :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
No Jane the Window in the LOUNGE it's about 15 foot high and goes right round the bay. So IT IS BIG.
Roast chicken tonight, with roasties and veg.
Will catch up with you later.

Morning All,
Dull and dreary here and by the time I left the hairdressers I'm sure the temperature had plummented!!! Bbrrr!! Then after I had driven through the grounds (the hairdresser is in the gym in a complex on some old hospital grounds) the main gate was shut for some reason, so I had to turn around, drive back past the lake and go out the way I had come in!
The fav carvery isn't on today! :-S So it's plan b and go to the one up the road with our 20% off voucher.
That's good news for Ros Frank, I bet she was quite relieved. She slipped up there didn't she........she should have told you tonight she hadn't had it done and enjoyed a good day's pampering from you!! lol ;-) ;-) Not that she doesn't get pampered anyway!! ;-) I bet you are right about the cash for Christmas for the windows. How can people do things like that and sleep at night!! :-S

Afternoon all,
Frosty here first thing and a bit foggy too, the sun is just starting to break through ,it would do as i have just lit the fire !! i did think it seemed colder than yesterday when i walked to town .
Hope all the poorly ones are feeling better ,Gill with her cold and Jane with the trots ,was it some thing you ate Jane or just a bug you've picked up do you think ?
Well i should imagine Ros was very relieved not to have to have the biopsy Frank , and it's good news too the treatment is helping her . Will little Ted let you near him then Frank or does he hop down off the chair out of your way ?
Your turn to feel chilly after a trim Ann , Yes i wondered where you get all the vouchers from too , is it some thing you get on line ?
Well we have our furry friends back :-0 i haven't seen them but next door knocked at my door yesterday and said her cats were after some thing near the fence and she thinks it's the rats again !! Hubby dropped some poison blocks down between the two fences ,he dropped two blocks in separate places went to drop another and some thing snatched it !! :-0 He'll look again tonight when he comes from work and if the others have gone he can top them up with some more , horrible things !!
Oh Mel poor OH :-D i've made a pot of tea and forgotten to put the tea bags in the pot !! and i've even added the water to the pot and it hasn't even boiled !! :-D

We get given vouchers sometimes when we pay and those that know we are regulars will give us the voucher back so we can use it again another time which is good!! We get some by joining garden centre schemes for loyalty points. We get others by email by signing up with local eateries. They then send you vouchers from time to time for money off meals, offers for your birthday like a free bottle of wine with your meal or for a free drink.
This is the one we used today Frank, but the link is for the one that is nearest to you. If you look at the right hand side where it says 'SIGN UP FOR TOBY TREATS' and fill that in you should get some too!! :-) If you look under that bit you will see you get free icecream just for signing up.
http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/easthunsburynorthampton/
Another 2 sites that do deals of all kinds including food (the more pricey places) are Amazonlocal and groupon.
Oh Mandy, fancy one being bold enough to grab the bait!! I hope it sees them off quickly.
At least he remembered to start making it Mel. I often wander into the kitchen to make a drink then wonder what I went in there for!! It's only when I go back and sit down that I remember. lol.
I hope Jane has got over her trots now and is feeling better today.

Afternoon all
Good news about Ros. She must be is so relived and very happy that the treatment is working. Sorry to hear you've had a falling out with Jan. I assume it is Jan and not our Jane ??? I think you might be right with the fella wanting 2k for Christmas, he must of known the company was going into Administration. What a horrible thing to do. Will Jan get the windows or doesn't she know yet?
My cold seems to have gone, but I've still got a terrible sore throat. I hope it doesn't last long. I'm really hungry and can't swallow properly. Soup just doesn't fill you up.
I hope you are feeling better today Jane.
Sorry to hear you might have Rats in your garden Mandy, hope your OH can get rid of them for you, or even your neighbours cat.
You do well, with your vouchers Ann. Do you ever have them for your food shopping. Tesco* gives us money off vouchers and this week I saved over £5 next week I have some money off because of a price comparison so will end up with almost £6 off. It all helps.
I believe there are websites with vouchers on. I was watching a program the other week about an American, who buys her food with coupons. She had five trolley loads and only paid 72 cents although it took her almost 10 hours to find the coupons cut them all out of magazines, make her shopping list, do the shopping, then pay for it. She looked shattered by he end of it all.
Oh Mel, fancy forgetting the coffee. It's easily done. Hope your OH enjoyed the 2nd one you made him.
I had to ring the Agents today because I missed their call yesterday and they never rung me back. The viewing for Saturday has been confirmed and I got the feedback, although I had to ask them for it. The 1st woman to view said it was between us and another one and she put an offer on the other one. The 2nd woman said she liked it and might take another look when she's down from Oxfordshire again in a few weeks. She did say that the kitchen and bathroom weren't to her liking but that she could afford to make them the way she wants.
Going to try and soft boiled egg now. I'm really hungry, hopefully I'll be able to eat it. BBL
