Evening All,
I had to smile at your earrings malfunction Ruby. It could be a new trend you are setting. I could go out (literally) with egg on my face and OH wouldn't notice or tell me!! lol. I've gone to work in one navy and one black shoe. The best of it was they were high heels and one had a heel half an inch higher than the other!! I didn't even notice till I went to a meeting and stuck my feet out in front of me! I've had a few senior moments today as well!! I tried to unlock the front door with my car remote when I got home and then about 2 minutes later I got my credit card out to lock it behind me! I don't know where my head was. :-S lol. Mind you they say even young children are starting to do things like stroke their fingers across windows to make things move like they do on their tablets.
Gill, fancy someone even mentioning your decor, it's something that is so easily changed to your own taste. Mind you, OH says he struggles to imagine a room any different than it is till he sees it being changed. Maybe he just didn't want to sound too enthusiastic.
Frank we get moss off the roof all over the drive as well. The gutters have fine mesh across the insides of them so leaves etc can't block them. Mind you the birds (Magpies) do their best to fetch the mesh out! It's wonderful that Ted is comfortable enough to let you stroke him. He's slowly coming around isn't he.
I do the same as you and do car insurance comparisons each year. I have read that we should all be getting quotes now as further hikes are due this year. They say the savings could be bigger than any exit fees.
It's all go on the car front again! :-) We are off to Coventry to finalise it tomorrow as OH prefers that to doing it by phone. It's turned out well in the end as the same size new engine in the facelifted model has slightly better performance but is more economical. We can't have a full sized spare wheel, but can have a space saver like my car has and that will be a lot better than the repair kits that most new cars have now.. It's the same body shape but has different lights and trim. It is also a bit cheaper which was a surprise and still over £5,000 saved. :-D
I read something the other day I had never thought about before. It recommended that if you go away (or even go out I suppose) it's a good idea to mute your phone volume. Apparently if burglars outside a house hear a phone ringing and no-one answers it, it's a clue that it's likely no-one is at home. :-S

I had two envelopes through the letterbox today one with a Canadian post mark and the other from Australia :-D :-D i have put them on the side to be opened on a certain date :-D
Plumber has been and we now have hot water :-D
Oh dear Ruby ,don't tell your son about the earrings :-D hubby had odd socks on the other day and when i spotted them he said well you paired them up and put them in the draw !! i bet if i put a shirt in the wardrobe inside out he wouldn't put it on !!

Mandy I have had a card from Oz and Canada too!! They are both sitting on the side waiting for the right day.
You all talking about going out in odd things remember I told you I went ringing one night and when I went to get out the car I had one shoe on and one slipper!!!!! I had to drive home and changed it and then drive back to ringing again . Worse thing was oh had told the other ringers what I had done as they asked where I was. :-| :-| :-|
The other thing was that I used to wear odd earings on purpose. It was the fashion once some years ago.
We had two small showers of that ballie snow today but not much of a breeze today. When I went out just now to put something in the dustbin we have a hard frost out there.

Mandy OH often pairs our socks up as he usually fetches the washing in and often he will pair one of my small black ones with one of his huge black ones. He was in fits of laughter today when I asked him if Davy Crockett was still alive. I suppose all little boys knew this but I didn't know he died in 1836!!! :-) Ooops!
Mel, that made me chuckle, one of each!! I remember driving in my slippers as a young woman so I didn't scratch the back of my high heels.
Off to bed now, the snow's stopped but It looks as deep as we had before and the cars are covered........more scraping in the morning.

Morning All,Evening Kim
Brr it's cold today, -6 says the car temp, just got back from seeing the nurse at the surgery, checking my cholesterol and thyroid levels, said I will have to come back every three months,
Today is our Wedding Anniversary thats 36 years, if I remember rightly weather today is exactly like the weather in 1979, bitterly cold, we had snow the weekend before and snow the weekend after the wedding, we were worried that my Franks relatives might not be able to travel up from Lancashire. but seems the roads had been gritted, which was good,

Morning all and evening Kim,
Very heavy frost last night and it's still here this morning but the sun is shining so I suppose it won't stay long.
Ann what ever posessed you to ask OH if Davy Crocket was still alive? Loved him on the telly when I was young and I think I told you before I had a Davy Crocket fishing rod when young and hat. It had a pistol type handle in brown plastic and the rod bit was beige with brown fitting to put it together and the hat was fur with the tail hanging down the back.
Neighbour came home on Sunday night late so I have'nt had to feed the cat since Saturday. Her dau was there on Sunday.
They were nice snow pics from Shirl were'nt they. Lucky thing always gets it......

Morning all, evening KIM.
Happy anniversary Fiona and Frank. Ours was 36 years last June 3rd. So only SIX months apart.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of my DADS funeral. It was a bitter cold wet day. I walked in front of the hearse from home to the church. Will be glad when tomorrows over. MKEMORIES !!!!
We had snow in the night. Just a covering, and it's melting as the sun got up. Will be gone soon.
I feed the birds this morning, at one time there were TEN blackbirds running around the lawn, chasing each other. I wonder what there are up too :-D :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 <3 Wagtails were under the feeder picking up bits that have been dropped by others.
Blue tits are around the nesting box again this morning. The bottom has been replaced, so they won't fall through the bottom, if they go in :-D :-D :-D :-D
All these new cars !!! I have thought of changing ours and using Ros's Motability Allowance, but it's 11 years old and has only done 50,000 miles. So while it is giving us good service I don't see any need to change. MOT next month, might make me change my mind !!!
Just looked down the garden and the Cherry tree has about 30 starlings and all the blackbirds sitting there all puffed up. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Had Eggs on toast for breakfast. and Ros had her "Shreddie#" with hot milk.
No reason to go out today, Ros has an AGM at Carols at 2.00pm so I can have a couple of hours without the T.V.

I got a surprise when I pulled back the curtains this morning to see snow, it was only about an inch deep and has all melted now.
I have the unsweetened almond drink Ruby, I pour it on my porridge or cereal, it only has about 26 calories, less than semi skimmed milk and it tastes much better.
It seems we've all put odd things on at times, I did too, two pairs of sandals that look quite similar, when I looked down I had one of each on.
I have the same reservations about moving too, as I hate the thought of leaving Alfie, don't think I would dig him up though if I did move, I know it's silly and irrational but it makes me sad to think of him out there all on his own in the cold.
I bet they were men who put those reviews on Jane about not a great deal of oomph. I'm thinking the same as you Frank, my car is nearly 8 years old now but I've only done 30,000 so it doesn't seem worth getting a new one just yet. Hope all goes well for you Ann tomorrow.
Happy anniversary to Fiona and Frank, did you say you were going out for a meal. It's lucky you live close enough to your daughter to be on hand when needed

HOME ALONE PEACE. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros had a bowl of stew before she went to her meeting, so I have transferred the remains to a smaller saucepan, and thrown the rest of the gravy down the sink.
No sign anywhere of the white stuff now, but it is still cold outside. All the food I put out this morning has gone. Will have to put it on the shopping list.
Roast Shoulder of lamb tonight with the roasted vegetables. I have added a few chopped up potato, to add to all the root vegetables. Meat is in the oven on a low heat, to let it cook nice a slowly then it will fall off the blade end.
Have had to turn the heating down indoors as I am baking.!!! Ros will want it back up when she comes in, as Carol doesn't keep her house very warm. :-( :-( :-(
How did you enjoy your lunch Fiona, What did you have ???
Jane, while Fitz is at yours for lunch where is his wife ?? Not at home on her own I hope. :-( :-(
Have emptied the washing machine and got shirts on hangers, hanging in the bathroom all other bits on the radiators. They will be dry soon, so under cloths can go away, the rest in the basket for ironing.
Thinking of William, I wonder how things are with him, I haven't seen him on FB either. Has anyone heard from David ?? How is he doing please.
Cambridge play Man. Utd. tonight. I don't give them much chance, so might not even go and watch the match. I can't get a lift with Tony as he is out Tuesday evenings, and I don't like to drag Ros out twice to take and collect me.
Hope the viewing goes well tonight Gill. You will have to fill us in later.
Talking of filling, did you go to the dentist YOUNG MEL ??? You can't ignore it for ever, you naughty girl. Uncle FRANK has spoken. !!!

I lost one of the bantam cockrels to Mr Fox just before lunch. They were creating merry hell so I went out and could only see a few of them then one came down off the roof so I knew what they had seen. Later when I corned them and mended the fence on the big girls I walked up the orchard as it was a cockrel missing and found his feathers where the fox and deer come over the bank so he has definately gone.
It has been a very cold bright sunshiny day today but very cold with it. and we just had a very small shower of the snow that looks like polystyrene balls. Chickens water still frozen even though the suns been on it.

Maureen I think you are right with it being 'men' saying about not enough oomph lol I will have a test drive on Friday Morning .Might try and give it a bit of wellie :-D :-D Well Fitz only left about 45minutes ago.It was a very long lunch !!! I'm not sure that Chris and I will fancy much for dinner. We had a fair bit of snow again earlier on top of what was already here. But it seems to be melting pretty quickly now.
Animals buried in my back garden are Solo (my cat),Dodger and Chester (my dogs) Starsky and Hutch (2 Gerbils).Tweety Pie(Rachels Parrot) and 2 Hamsters (Sooty and Sweep ).I think they will all have to remain where they are if we should move :-D
Frank ,I'm sure you will be remembering that very sad day tomorrow. But you will have many happy memories also of your Dad :-D....You were a wonderful and very caring Son <3

We had a lovely afternoon. we walked into Hamilton so my Frank could have a couple of drinks.and had lunch at Frankie & Benny's
To GR Frank I had PENNE CARBONARA Penne tossed with pancetta bacon, sautéed mushrooms, Grana Padano and a deliciously creamy cheese sauce. Freshly prepared and served with a choice of salad or house fries.(I was good & had the salad.
My Frank had NEW YORKER CALZONE Our folded pizza, fully loaded with spicy pepperoni, ham, bacon, mushrooms and mozzarella. All brushed with butter and topped with Mamma’s rich Neapolitan tomato and herb sauce. And blow the cholesterol for one day , I had Apple & Cinnamon tart with custard, and my Frank had a Chocolate Pancake, with Ice cream.
Then we went in Next home and spent a fortune on 6 new cushions for our new living room suite that hopefully will arrive sometime this month, I wouldn't have bought them if I had been on my own but I smiled sweetly and the answer was go on then, so as not to feel left out my Frank bought a spinning spice & herb rack , he has always wanted one, He prefers to have things on the counter than hanging it on the wall

No not unusual Jane they are taken in the dayMost times. Females are feeding young now as they have their cubs in January.
I had a letter today putting my appointment off till 18th Feb now. Dentist is not in that day. I expect she has an appointment as she is pregnant. Tooth not too bad today.
Oh mentioned the other day about the triangular milk cartons they brought out some years ago. We had them at school and I can remember they had to have special shaped crates for them to go in.
