Morning all
Sorry to hear about your pal, Frank. Hope the weather's not to bad for the funeral <3 Another trip to the Dentist Mel, by the sounds of it. Hope the paracetamol works in the meantime.
How scary Ann, having a big bang and then the smoke alarm going off, did you find out why that happened in the end.
Sorry to hear you're not well Fiona, hope you feel better soon. There seems to be so many bugs going around lately for everyone.
I've never had a daughter leave home before Jane so it's all new to me. Michelle is busy with work a lot and now it looks like she has a boyfriend. She met him at her friends birthday party, so I don't expect to hear much from her for a while. We tried to talk online the other day but she had problems with her internet, so we had to give up in the end and I don't like to ring her during the day in case she is in work. I do miss her. I suppose I'll get used to it in time.
Well, the viewing's didn't go very well, yesterday. The first couple were late. When they arrived they were very apologetic, but then rushed around so they weren't late for the next viewing they had. I got the impression they liked the place but the Estate Agent said they hadn't even put they property on the market yet. So that was a waste of time.
An Agent was suppose to help me with the second viewing because I was told it was a man on his own, but the Agent didn't turn up. Apparently he had a puncture on his car. Luckily when the man turned up, thankfully on time, he had his wife with him, but I got the impression they didn't like our bungalow so I'm not holding out much hope of a sale to them.
By the time the viewing's were over it was dinner time. Sandra and I had had nothing to eat all day so we had a sandwich and didn't feel like anything else and I was so tired I ended up having an early night.
OH and I tried for hours to put the wire up for the net curtain the evening before. We thought we'd put the hook into the window frame, but it must be made of concrete as the hook wouldn't go in and it was to late to use a drill to make a small hole. We tried for ages and gave up in the end. So there was no window covering for the viewing's. I had to tell them that we are getting the glass replaced, but it didn't look good having a major problem on the biggest window in the bungalow.
So all in all I feel it wasn't a good day. At least the weather was dry and sunny all day, so that was one good thing to happen. Luckily the next viewing is tomorrow evening at 6.15 so it will be dark and hopefully the window problem won't be so visible. I'm hoping to get the glass replaced before the woman from Oxfordshire comes down on Friday. I hope the weather stays dry when the new glass goes in.

Morning all, evening Kim. "PINCH PUNCH" and all that.
Well Ann you did have a surprise with that BIG BANG !!! I would have thought that if the battery was on it's way out, it would have bleeped NOT GO BANG.
Sorry to hear you still have toothache Mel, Can you put a clove on the tooth ?? It was always a good remedy for toothache. I would think the dentist will have you in on Monday, to get it sorted.
When I had my new teeth, I thought she would have taken out the remaining ones. But she said, she likes to keep as many of your own teeth as possible as it helps hold the plates in . So she might fill your tooth rather than take it out.
Well Gill, You had a gut feeling about the "VIEWERS" so at least you won't be getting your hopes up over them. Best of luck with tomorrows and Fridays.
Roast crackling joint of pork for tonight. All the veg are done, pudding and gravy made, so that's me for the rest of the day. Dinner will be about 5.30 pm. I was grating the cheese for my "CHEESE SAUCE" and my hand slipped, taking a slice off my thumb. No blood, just the skin, It is so sore, just like a paper cut. I think we have all had one of those. !!!
Very clear cold morning here with sunshine. The clouds look a bit wintery, so we might get something later. The forecast is not good for FEBRUARY.

I was just going to say Good Morning but have just seen the time so Afternoon All :-D
Mel have you any oil of Cloves for your toothache? My sister always swears by that. Hope it is not too painful today.
Oh Gill how disappointing that your viewing so far haven't gone as well as you had hoped.Fingers crossed for better luck with the next ones. There will be someone out there who will want your bungalow :-D.I remember thinking when we were selling that we were bound to hear back for 'second viewings' and when it didn't happen it was horrible. Did you say your window just has the seal gone that has let moisture in? There are firms that can suck out the 'mist' and reseal .That would be cheaper than actually having the glass replaced (I am assuming it is a sealed double glazing )
Ooh Ann that would have put the wind up me hearing a bang and then the alarm going off .Have you investigated the loft to see it there might me an electrocuted mouse, like Mel said???
Talking of wind..It is so windy today. It was howling through our open window in the ensuite this morning. No rain or no snow so far today, but it does seem to have come over all dark now so maybe something is on the way.
Mel I wonder if you might have an infection /abscess if it going right down into your jaw :-S :-S
Well I was a bit miffed earlier.I was ironing upstairs and saw next doors dogs running along outside on the pavement past our house. The big German Shepherd and the little one.So I ran downstairs and rang the neighbour just to say I'd seen them.. He said that they were in the back garden ,kept repeating that.So I just said well that was good they must have just run back ,but that I had definitely seen them.I just wanted to make sure that they were safe and hadn't run off up the road.It was as if he was making out I had imagined it :-S :-S :-S....I think he just didn't want to admit that they had got out.Not a word of thanks for letting him know. Some years ago I heard a dog howling in the evening and I thought it might be one of their old spaniels shut in or trapped somewhere .I rang then to ask if it might be one of theirs. No was the answer they were both in.......It turned out that in fact it WAS one of the dogs shut in an old shed right down the bottom of their garden.Once again, no thanks. I have to say they are the most oddest of people and I know that they have fallen out with several neighbours along here. As long as the dogs were ok that is all that matters :-D
Good luck Mandy with getting the bedroom ready for the decorating....I'm glad it's not me now LOL.

Just having five minutes with a cuppa , phew all this humping furniture about ,my poor hands will be so stiff tomorrow ,i didn't think there was much to move .....but you know what men are like !! but i'd rather it was moved than have paint on it .
My goodness the muck :-0 well not so much muck just dust really ,you know what they say were there's muck there's money !! but i haven't found any !! Did find the top of a bottle of foot cream , and i'd hunted every where for that .
Sky is black as your hat and we've just had a heavy snow shower ,but it hasn't laid as every where is so wet .
Sorry to hear your viewings haven't gone as well as you thought Gill, fingers crossed for the next few . Mel, clove oil is suppose to be good for tooth ache ,or a little whisky on a piece of cotton wool held near the tooth , would probably taste better than the clove oil :-D
Well there just no helping some people is there Jane , if my dog was roaming about i'd be pleased that some one took the trouble to ring me and let me know.

Mandy I was horrified and ashamed to see the muck and dust that was under and behind our bed.I could have written my name in it :-S :-S...I have no excuse now as I can get the long hoover pipe right underneath. My fingers get like yours all stiff and like big sausages when I have been doing lifting and moving stuff. Then they are difficult to bend.
I won't say here what I think of our neighbours ...I would be banned :-S.They are just oddballs. They keep all the curtains pulled at the front, even though the bungalow is a good way back from the road so no-one can really see in.Weird or what???
Chris is out in the summerhouse with his painting now.I have just done a load of skewers of peppers, mushrooms and red onions ready for later to go with our Steaks.James should be on his way back from Jess now so hopefully will be here in time for us to all eat together. Just going out to see if Chris wants a cuppa.

Afternoon All,
Well it was cold when we went over to MIL's but FREEZING by the time we came back. I put the heating on when we came in and it was soon toasty. :-)
We had a look at the battery in the alarm Mandy and it looks like new.....no leaking, no scorch marks and no burning smell and it was cold to touch so we don't think it was that. The lights stayed on with the battery out so it is a wired one like you mentioned. OH went in the loft, but would need to move stuff and unscrew the loft boards to see underneath where the alarm is and if it was a mouse, so he said he would do that tomorrow when he has more time. He checked the mousetraps up there as well and said there were no mice in those. None of the house fuses blew so it is still a mystery at the moment. Yes, I said it was a good job it didn't happen in the night to OH......it would have been 'panic stations!! The colour sounds like a nice choice for your bedroom and with having built in robes there is less wall to paint which is good too.
That is horrid having toothache Mel. It might be that you have a bit of infection in it after all the pressing and biting on it with the new teeth. The dentist may try some antibiotics first and you may not lose the tooth. That Bonj*la stuff you rub on is good for toothache too.
Gill, it doesn't sound like a good start to your viewings, but it only needs just one to be keen so it's early days yet. I wouldn't be too put off if someone hasn't got their house on the market: I have moved twice since I was first married and neither time did I put my house on the market till I'd found a house I really wanted to buy. I'd ask the agent for feedback on what people say as well. You might get a few tips that will help you sell. Good luck with the next viewings.
That must have hurt Frank!! :-0 Good job a bit of you didn't go in the sauce!!
It does sound like the neighbour didn't want to admit the dogs were out Jane. Some folk are funny like that, will never admit a mistake.
A friend has been feeding and playing with a Lab puppy for an hour a day for a couple who both work. She just does dogwalking normally. She was saying last week that he had been howling when no-one was there and neighbours had complained. His owners have now enrolled him in 'doggy daycare' to keep him and everyone else happy!! lol. :-D

Ann I think Doggy Day Care is a brilliant idea.I just think it is a shame that someone gets a puppy knowing they are not going to be at home. It's like leaving a Baby.No wonder the poor little thing was howling :-(..There are more and more Doggy Day care places popping up these days. Yes I agree .My neighbour was not going to admit his dogs got out !!!..Silly man .Did he really expect met think I imagined seeing his dogs lol
It has turned much colder now .It wasn't too bad today .Nothing was frozen and no frost. But I think it might possibly freeze a bit overnight. So all a big mystery then Ann with the bang and alarm :-S :-S...No Ghosty playing tricks I hope!!
Frank you are always grating your fingers or thumb !!!!....Flipping painful though isn't it. I have done it a few times but never let on :-D :-D..Whats; the difference between a bit of skin and a few veg :-D
I meant to ask if anyone watched The Secret of Lewis Carol (sp) last night? It was brilliant.

Been sunny here all day but we had a snowy hail shower just as I went to corn the chickens. I was out in it as a neighbour called with the newsletter just as I was going in so to save her getting out the car I took it from her. The birds are feeding like crazy again. They are going through a box of mealworms a day at the mo. We get a big que in the mornings. 6 or 8 robins a pair of wagtails, a pair of chaffinches, goodness knows how many wrens and sparrows if they can get a look in. Mummy chaffinch chases the sprarrows away and actually hung on to the back of the head of one the other day. Willy Wagtail chases off the robins and the chaffinches but not the wrens. They are relly funny as they pop along on seemingly no legs going from pot to pot and round the backs of pots to hide and eat the worm. I wish my camera was working and I could get some smashing antics with them in the mornings.
I hope you have better luck with your viewings in the week Gill. People who buy houses always seem to change things anyway so don't worry too much. Did you have the window put in that has gone misty? or was it there when you moved in? If you know the firm that did them they would probably be able to do something with the misty one.
Tooth is a bit better today but still hurts. The tooth is a bit lose as I have receeding bone in my jaw. The teeth are all alright but the gums go down and they become lose. The next tooth to it is also lose!! I think I am falling apart quicker than I ought to be, or just getting old......................on the other hand I am old!! :-S
It will be nice when the bedroom is done Mandy and it dos'nt sound like it is going to take Colin long once he starts the painting. We still want to see a pic of the new curtains you know......
I saw some of the Lewis Carol program last night Jane. What did you think about the pic of the little girl naked???? It did sound like he had a fattish for young girls, did'nt it? He was quite a nice looking man too.
Cheese an dbiccies for us again tonight. Nice and easy for a Sunday night and not much washing up to do.

But yes that last picture of the sister was quite a shock .Just one of the people talking in the programme last night said they thought that he was a repressed peadophile !
Our birds too have been feeding like mad today.I have filled the feeder 3 times ! Just dong dinner now.I am so hungry.I haven't had anything yet today other than a few nuts.

Evening all
Sounds like there's still bad weather about for you all, it's been the same as yesterday here, sunshine with light wind, although still very cold.
How rude can people be sometimes Jane, I would of been really grateful if they had been my dogs and you had gone to the trouble of letting me know. It's the poor dogs I feel sorry for, having owner like that.
Have you finished moving everything now Mandy. Hope your hands aren't to sore tomorrow.
Yes Frank, I know what a paper cut feel like, very painful. I hope your thumb heals soon.
I hope you solve the mystery of your smoke alarm Ann. If it's connected to the electrics do you think it might of been an electrical serge, that might of triggered it to go off. Just a thought :-S :-S
I've never heard of a doggy day care, what a good idea, the puppy will love that and make lots of doggy friends.
No Mel. we didn't put the windows in so we don't know which company was used. I like the idea of having the window fixed Jane, but wouldn't they have to take it away to do that, in which case it wouldn't be possible. We couldn't be without a window in this cold, or can it be done here. I've not heard of it, so don't know how it's done. Do you know if it takes long to do?
We had some feedback off the second viewing, the one I thought wasn't interested and apart from saying the décor wasn't modern enough, he liked it and has put it on his list, not sure what that means, maybe a second viewing who knows? The Agent said he would get back to us in the next week. Haven't heard any feedback on the first viewing yet, that's the one who hasn't put their house on the market.
Thinking positive for the next two viewings, the next one is tomorrow evening, OH will be here, so I'm not nervous this time.
Off to bed now NIght Night

Morning All, Evening Kim, Hello Mel
Have cancelled my Coffee duty this afternoon at Church, still have a touch of swollen glands and cough, so another day or so in the warm should be an improvement, and hopefully I can join my pals for coffee on Wednesday,
snow just about gone from our street, all the roads in town are clear but the gritter never comes down our way anyway, it would be good if the put a sand box(?) at the end of our street, they have started doing that up at Victoria's but she is with North Lanarkshire, we are in South Lanarkshire, they have much better council services than we do.
off to get a coffee, and watch last nights episode of Mr Selfridge, I was just to tired to stay up and watch it then.

Morning all, evening Kim,
Another uneventful evening last night. There was the usual CRA# on ITV, so I took myself off the conservatory at 7.00 pm until 10.00 pm. Then went to bed with the radio. Keith Skews He does three hours of older music 1950/1970. I laid listening to that until midnight. The 11.00 to midnight slot was all great hits from many artist. Including the Beatles, The Hollies and many more. I was in 2nd heaven.
Madam decided to join me in bed about 12.30 am. I laid awake till well after 2.00 am and woke several times during the night. BORDOM ME THINKS. I need to get out more.
What is it with some people who can't be grateful that someone rings them about the dogs. It make you think, let them get on with it. But as a dog lover you just can't do it.
Hope you got in the dentist Mel, if it's that loose I am sure she will extract it. Better that, than be in pain.
Gill, What I can't understand with people is if you like the property, decorating is a personal thing. I would never be put off by that. Every house we have had (seven) I have redecorated every one.
Still sitting around in my dressing gown, so had better get my ar#e into gear, and get showered and shaved.
8.30 this morning I was sitting with my 2nd cuppa, when the phone rang. SOME BLOOD# TELESALES GIRL. I gave her a bit of my mind and put the phone down. What a time to pick, to try to sell something :-D :-( :-( :-(

Have just started to look at flight prices to Spain to see Conrad in June time. Not cheap. Will have to look nearer the time on a last minute deal. We can be off the next day if it's cheap enough.
All showered and shaved. Ros is sweeping up all the moss that has fallen off the roof. Does anyone else suffer from this ??? Tony's gutter is packed full of it. I told him last year about it. He still hasn't done anything to clear it. I do mine every Spring and pressure wash the guttering. I will put a ball of rolled up wire mess in the gutter to stop his moss coming along and blocking my down pipe. Even though I have stoppers in all the down pipes, it can still get through.
I see the bird feeders are empty, I have loads of fat sticks and nuts to go out. and I must repair the BIRD BOX.

Afternoon everyone
Frank I enjoyed last nights tv. Call the Midwife and then Last Tango in Halifax :-D
Gill ,I was looking up on the window situation. There are companys that come out drill a tiny hole in the window and then dry out the moisture and somehow leave a vent.I think thats's what it said.Or you can just have the glass replaced. So either way the frame would remain in place.I just googled Condensation in double glazed windows and things popped up.It might be worth just giving a company a call and just see what they say. Some people thing it is better to get the glass replaced. But I suppose it depends on cost .I hope you manage to sort the problem quickly. That is great that you have one of the viewers interested :-D.I hope they come back for a second view.
Oh Mel I do hope you don't need anything doing with that tooth.Especially if it a root problem :-S
Frank our cold calls seem to have tailed off a bit in the last week.We were getting at least 3 every day :-S :-S I had to chuck some clothes on very quickly this morning.I was just about to get in the shower and I could see a Yellow Coloured Vehicle through the frosted glass. It was DHL with the Rug that Hannah had sent Chris from India.
Fiona hopefully you will be fine again by Wednesday to meet up with your friends. I have noticed a couple of Sand/Grit Boxes around that haven't been there before .I think there should be more of them
Just about to have a bowl of soup now :-D

Hello all,
It's a sunshiny but cold morning here. I've just had my cereal and tried almond milk for the first time. I bought the vanilla, but found it too sweet, although there are no added sugars. Could be because I haven't been eating anything with sugar for more than a month now.
I bet the rug is beautiful Jane. By the way, that was very thoughtful of you to try to get a picture of Framlingham's sign, and I do appreciate the thought. <3
Frank, we had a little cavalier King Charles spaniel years ago. In fact, we bought him from a breeder not far from Fram., and brought him back with us to Texas. We absolutely adored him. He stole our hearts. When he died we were all in mourning for him, In fact, when we decided to move to SC, I desperately wanted to be able to dig him up from our back yard and bring him with us. He was the only reason for my hesitancy in leaving there. I know you will love taking care of him should you be needed.
Hope you'll soon be well Fiona - that old sickness has been hanging around too long hasn't it? A few winters ago, I had colds and coughs and sore throats most of the winter. Every time I'd start feeling better and go back to church, it would come back, so I finally stayed home for weeks until it was safe to get around other people again. Many don't stay home when they're sick.
My second son came over yesterday - he always comes to visit on a Sunday, and enjoys a couple of cups of tea and some dippers. My sons like to tease me about having a meeting to decide what to do with me :-D I can't remember diddly squat any more, and if I have a senior moment when any one of them is here, then they say it's time for a meeting :-D I've learned not to tell them everything.
A couple of weeks ago, I went shopping with my sister and we had lunch before coming home. As I pulled into the garage I saw a couple of ladies I knew, walking up the road, so I went out to check the mail and have a little chat with them. We had a little visit and then I said I must go as I still had groceries to put away. When I got in and went back to the bedroom to change clothes I happened to glance in the mirror, and of all things - I had odd ear rings on. One was a plain gold hoop and the other one was a hoop, but it had aqua coloured stones in it. Oh the humiliation :-0 It was no wonder those ladies wanted to know if they could help me with anything. I blamed my sister for not noticing!!!!!

Yes the rug is very nice and looks just right in Chris's study :-D.it isn't ornate like the rug Hannah bought herself but just a really nice one. I didn't know you had lived in Texas.Hannah will be going there in June for a Conference. She has told me where but i can't remember :-S I can understand how difficult it must have been to move and leave your dear little dog behind .My Sister has 3 pots of her dog's ashes in her garage. As she says she will only bury them or scatter them when she is sure they will not be moving again. She still has 3 dogs and they are getting older now so she may well end up with 6 pots !!!!!!!!
I was disappointed not to get the pic for you.I should have planned things better .It was just that couldn't slow down or stop because of traffic behind us.We did go to Framlingham a few years ago and visited the Castle. It was very interesting.
Well I can't get warm .I know I should be wearing layers but I can't stand layered clothing.it makes me feel kind of claustraphobic (if that makes any sense at all !!)
I see Shirl has LOTS of snow !!!!!....Keep warm and safe Shirl <3
I think I am going to be looking at a new cars on Friday :-D. I still like the look of the Renault Captur.Reviews are a bit mixed and the main thing people say that there is not a lot of oomph. But I don't need that as I won't be doing long trips.it will be more for tootling around .I can't wait to do a test drive.
Ruby I have stopped having sugar in my tea .But I do like it in my first cup of the day.I am finding that quite sweet now so am going to try and keep reducing it until I can have it with sweetners like I have the rest of the day.
Gone 5pm now and I can still see the garden .It seems to be getting lighter and lighter each evening now.

I have made a nice stew for dinner tonight Shin of Beef, and every variety og root veg I have in the fridge. It's been simmering for 4 hours so should be great when we are ready to eat.
Just had Jan on Skype. She showed us little JJ playing with a ball of Ella's that looked twice his size, pushing it round the lounge. He seems to be getting toilet trained and has only had one little accident.
Had Ros's car insurance renewal through the post this morning. I went on line and saved another £17.00 p.a. and it wasn't dear before. I think it pays to look on line each year. Her MOT is due 14/3/15. Nation al Tyres are offering HALF PRICE MOTs to previous customers, so shall book that later in the week. They can post date the MOT for up to a month in advance.
Still no slweet or snow, even though it's very cold out. I did walk to the neighbour who has the Labradoddle (NORMAN) to take some meat we had over from yesterday.
Carol is back from Australia, and called in yesterday afternoon with "TED" he let me stroke him, the first time ever . They have a meeting for "Stitchery Do" on Thursday, so I will have him for the afternoon.
I think I should advertise for "DOGGY DAY CARE" it could be my beer money for the week (well for a night ):-D :-D :-D :-D
It was still light here at 4.30 pm today, even with the clouds, so nights are drawing out.
No decent football on tonight, so I expect I will be in the conservatory watching something, while the soaps and "B.C" is on. I didn't watch the last series so I am not interested in this one..
I will be out tomorrow night, Football will be on at the pub. !!!
Off to see how the stew is doing. The smell is killing me. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
