What good luck Frank remembering about your insurance, now you can get your heating fixed and be back to normal in no time :-D :-D. How lovely to be able to look after JJ, just remember to give him back lol I love those types of dogs
Ann, have you seen the doctor, there might be something he can do for you. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight <3.
Yes I'm going to be busy again on Thursday moving everything around with OH. Well, that's if I don't have a viewing. The battery on my phone went dead and I didn't realise, so when I charged it back up I had loads of texts telling me of all the missed calls I had, one of them was our Estate Agent, so I'll have to ring them back tomorrow. I'm assuming it's going to be a viewing and the only free day we've got this week is Thursday.
OH was suppose to be in work half day on Wednesday and off on Saturday, but one of the text was a missed call from OH works and yes you've guessed it, they need him to work all day Wednesday and Saturday. Nothing changes. I suppose the extra money will come in handy though.
Well, Broadchurch is on shortly, so I'm off to watch it BBL

I don't know Jane he just said put it in pride of place and plonked it on my desk opposit where Di sits.
I am full. we had a huge dinner. Sausages cabbage, swede, onions and mash with a little gravy. I feel really full now but I did enjoy it tonight.
We.ve had that cold bitter breeze all day today. The house dos'nt seem to want to get warm.
Sorry to hear about your thermostat Frank. There's always something.
My house insurance was'nt due till 12th Feb. They rang me last week to see if I wanted to get it then and I said it was'nt due yet so I would be doing it nearer the 12th.
Today I had another call from them but this time it was a lady and she told me I could renew now and they would give me £20 off. The quote was £308 something. I did a Frank and told them that was'nt enough anyway to cut a long story short I got £40 off in the end. She asked me if I would like to have it on direct debit each month and I said no as I like to [pay it and get it out of the way for the year. When she quoted the price for the monthly payments they worked out to the original price I was quoted before they took the £40 off. So all in all they new I pay the whole year as I have for the last 5 years now so they made me think I was getting a good deal in asking for money off but if you don't ask you don't get, do you? I bet a lot of people just pay what they quote.

Sorry to hear you've hurt your thumb Jane, have you had it x-rayed just to be sure it's not broken. It's better to safe than sorry. I hope you enjoyed your boat trip even with a sore thumb.
I had to laugh before. I went to Iceland and bought loads of stuff for my freezer and the woman who served me said if it snows you won't go hungry then tonight when watching the weather it looks like we might have some snow on Wednesday. I blame the woman at Iceland lol :-D :-D :-D :-D.
I am hoping to book a trip down the River Dee for Sandra's birthday Ann, but it's a bit early in the year so I'm not sure if they will be doing any when it's her birthday, so we might have to go back later in the year and have a the trip then. She'll love the shopping trip and of course the replica Friends café. She loves Friends.
My hands are much better now, so I think the potato peel must of worked. Where the skin had broken on the back of my left hand, it now looks like it's grazed, but thankfully no more pain. Rubber Gloves next time me thinks
Good on you Mel, with your insurance. I'm thinking of doing a price comparison on all my utility bills to see if I can find cheaper deals anywhere. My mum was telling me how much she pays on her bills and they are a lot lower each month than ours. Of course there are more of us, but it's still worth looking into.

Mel, I don't eat at night after 6.00pm except a yoghurt or few nuts if I'm really hungry. I have felt agitated after eating chocolate before. It's the caffeine in it so I cut right down what I have had since this started last year, but I did have a couple of cereal bars with chocolate one side yesterday so it could be that. I know I'm sensitive to caffeine so I will do the same as you and not eat any more!! I did wonder about my BP dropping if my breathing isn't right when I sleep (like with sleep apnea). I did mention it to one of the GPs, but it's hard to see the same one again at our surgery. BP's ok in the daytime as I check it once a month. I've read that you should be checked with the tablets we take but the doc says I don't need any monitoring?? :-S
Gill, this started with me being sent from A & E to be seen by a cardiologist 5 months ago. All the tests came back normal and they put me on a beta blocker. One theory is I may be sensitive to my thyroid tablets and that anxiety may play a part. I needn't limit my life, but have to go to A&E if it doesn't slow down within a short time, which is why I got dressed. It's just scary when it happens though and not being sure why, although they told me it is surprisingly common, mostly as you get older but it happens even in teenagers. I'd already given up stimulants like alcohol and caffeinated tea and coffee when I had panic attacks years ago as they can make those worse. Perhaps 'goodbye chocolate' will mean 'hello waistline' which would be a nice positive!! lol. We like chicken with roast mediterranean veggies too. It's quick and easy and a very tasty combination!!
Gawd Jane, you don't want your 'rear' on facebook do you if you take a nosedive in a boat! I must remember that if I pitch down some steps and end in a heap .......cameraphones are everywhere you go. :-S

Morning all and evening Kim,
Dull old day here but dry.
Denist this morning and this should be my last appointment.
When I was making my tea this morning looking out the window a big fox ran right across the top of the garden and out the big arch. There is one of the Beagle's from the big house running around the back fields barking so he can smell it or he has seen it somewhere over there. I am not letting the chickens out till we are back.

I hope you girls can't sense Mr Fox about Mel.Good job you are keeping them in until later.Fingers crossed for your last appointment at the dreaded Dentist.
It is cloudy here too.I think it might have been sunny first thing but I missed that.
I am meeting Fitz down at Tes** in a bit .He is going to have a look at laptops but wants to give me a card for Chris then he is off to Northampton. So I reckon we might have a coffee. Then this afternoon I must pack my bag..Honestly you would think I was going for at least a week seeing all the things I have hanging out on the wardrobes. But that way when I see everything like that it is easier to decide.I know I will have 3 coats and 3 pairs of boots :-D :-D..But at least they can be just left in the boot
See you later

Morning All,Evening Kim,
I have just spent over an hour paying my TAX. when you go onto HMRC there are far to many private companies advertising. I ended up ringing HMRC for a web site so I could pay them. I have sent them a very curt letter, regarding how difficult it is for OLD DUFFERS like me to pay on line. I don't suppose it will do any good.
Ros has a Hospital appointment at 1,45. with a dermatologist Regarding her problem. SAY NO MORE !!!!
Yes it will be nice to sit JJ if Jan goes to Spain. Ted the sheltie is at Carols Daughters, while she is in Australia, she is back on the 30th Jan.
Jane, You make your food sound so interesting the way you describe it. I hope it tastes as good :-D :-D :-D
Mel, Lets hope this is the final trip to the dentist. !!!
I love boat trips of any kind. Right from just after the war on the Pleasure Steamers from London's Tower Pier to all around the East Coast. and then all my sea fishing trips while in the fishing club.
While at Stratford on Avon, we hired a boat for a trip where I did the steering, we went for miles down the river, and had to pay extra when I returned. It was that time we saw all the SMOKE TREES down the river banks, and bought one to put in the garden at Gayton.
Gill don't you go over doing things, or you will end up hurting your back.
We had to laugh last night, our little plumber friend, came round yesterday and tried to get this STAT to work. While he was here, he said I will turn the boiler down a bit as it was so warm, and we can't adjust it. HE TURNED IT DOWN SO LOW that the radiators were cold and we had no HOTR WATER.. I rang him this morning and he came straight round and turned it back up. At least now we can turn the RADS off if we get to hot. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all
Just had a visit from my mum, she brought the cakes and I provided the tea. Then just as mum was leaving Rosie the squirrel turned up. I fed her some nuts so she's happy now :-D :-D.
Oh dear Frank, no central heating or hot water, hope you weren't to cold last night, at least you have it back now and can adjust the Rads if you need to. Hope Ros's appointment goes well.
I didn't realise you had seen the doctor Ann, if you're having a reaction to your tablets can't the doctor change them or has he already tried that. It must be so scary, especially when it happens at night. You did the right thing getting dressed just in case. Hope you are feeling better now.
Hope everything goes ok at the dentist Mel. I don't blame you for leaving the chickens in with a fox around.
I was right about the Estate Agent, we have a viewing on Friday on our bungalow, the woman is coming up from Oxfordshire and doesn't have a property to sell, so with a bit of luck she'll want this place, then we could be moving in the spring which will be nice.
Not sure where we're moving to yet. OH wants to stay in this area because of his job especially now he has some extra contractual hours. There's a chance he may get 10 more contractual hours in 4 weeks time. So far this year we've had quite a bit of good luck so hopefully our luck will stay good and our bungalow will sell.
We won't be moving the furniture around now Frank with having the viewing, but when, or if, we do I'll be careful ;-).
All I've got to do now is get this place ready for the viewing. There's not a lot to do, so it shouldn't take to long. Luckily OH is off work on Thursday so anything I can't manage he'll help me with. I have a few things I want putting up in the loft so he'll probably do that for me. All the cleaning I can do myself.
I'm getting quite excited about the viewing. I shouldn't count my chickens before they're hatched so I'll just hope it goes well.

Back and had lunch and let all the girls and boys out.
Guess what? I have another appoiontment in two weeks time. Pleased with the look of the new ones but they have lost my actual teeth I gave them to match up the shape for the front ones. New ones are not too comfortable on the left hand side where I hav'nt had any teeth for years now but perhaps my mouth just has to get used to the new ones. I am very aware there are now teeth there. At least they are not resting on my tongue like the others did.
Have to go and feed next doors cat now so be back later.

Afternoon All,
I'm feeling fine again now Gill thanks and after taking a while to drop off last night I slept like a log! I'm not sure there are many alternatives to my tablets though. I think keeping notes for now might be useful to the GP if it continues happening to see if there is a pattern. Good luck with your viewing on Thursday. A few bungalows in our close have taken a while to sell in the past, but one that was for sale just before Christmas has a sold board up now so that may be a good sign! :-)
Frank, OH filled his tax return online and has a link on the first screen that says 'make a payment.' I know you have to be careful of simillar sites that try to charge you to do it. A friend of mine got caught with one last year and it cost her a few hundred pounds!!
I can't believe it.........the place OH's car is coming from rang today to say the car we want isn't available any more as the mnfr has updated their site over last weekend and introduced facelifts to some models and dropped others!! :-S They will ring us in the next week when they have been provided with all the details to tell us what the new options are, but it looks like we will have to have a bigger engine which we don't want!! :-S We can't have an existing old model as the climate control is a factory fit option. Nothing is straightforward is it.
Jane, 3 pairs of boots?? lol.

YOUNG CHICK Frank, more like an old hen these days but having daughters keeps you young, mine will certainly tell me if my clothes or hair are a bit old fashioned :-0
That was lucky with the insurance, in my experience whatever needs replacing is never covered.
I have several sets of old clothes for painting Ann, I'm so messy seem to end up with more paint on me than the walls. I was painting the cupboards outside once and as I came down the ladder I put my foot straight into the paint pot, yesterday I was sitting on the floor painting the skirting, knocked a brush that was balancing on the side of the tin which went handle first into the paint and as I went to retrieve it my foot brushed along the skirting I'd just painted, I gave up after that, think I was getting tired.
I thought it was one of those University towns Jane, good job you didn't fall in you might have ended up on You've Been Framed and someone else would have made a few hundred pounds, it was quite a while ago wasn't it.
Oh Mel I don't envy you, it takes ages to get used to new dentures, I only had one false tooth in the front and I just couldn't get used to it, luckily it was only temporary as I had a bridge later. It will be sore if you haven't had any teeth that side for a while, the gums harden.
Will keep my fingers crossed for you Gill and hope the woman is really interested in your bungalow. Are you going to downsize. When son was trying to persuade me to move when he moves to Bedford I said I would want a 3 bed as I have now even though it's just me and the cats.
The two oldest grandchildren at the back of that photo are my eldest daughter's, I have three daughters and a son. I know, I'm so greedy :-D

Ann, that seems very unlikely that a car manufacture has cleared all the old models, I bet the dealer is getting a bit extra getting the new model on the road. Then once the new model is established, there will be massive discounts to get rid of the OLD MODELS (been there got the T shirt) For what it's worth. go on line direct to the manufactures and see what stock they have at other dealers. In all my years in the trade I have never heard THAT ONE !!!!
Ros has to go back in a couple of weeks to have a biopsy. The doctor said she hasn't seen a worse case of" liken planes " in a woman's privates. She has been put on a multitude of creams and must wear panties supplied by the DOCTORS. She mustn't wash with ordinary soap. and must not use TOILET PAPER. only cotton wool, so I have a very unhappy wife. This all stems from the liken planes she had/still got in her mouth. It has travelled through her system. She should have gone to the Doctors months ago but kept putting it off. TYPICAL WOMAN !!!!
Hope the viewing goes to plan Gill, if the woman is travelling that far, I would think she has put a lot of thought into it before making an appointment to view. GOOD LUCK. Are you looking to down size ???
I take it Mr Fox didn't stay around today Mel. Is there anything you can do to rid yourself of them ??? TRAPS ETC. It's strange that a Dentist can loose your teeth
:-0 :-0 :-0 Surely they would have a file where they would keep them.
Ros is doing one of her stir fry's tonight. So nothing for me to do.
Chelsea play Liverpool tonight. So wondering if I fancy a walk to the pub, or stay in the warm.

Oh what a performance now with the new car :-S :-S and you thought everything was going smoothly with the order. What a bummer :-|
Gill I will keep my fingers crossed that your bungalow is just what this person is looking for and that you get a sale.
Mel how have they managed to lose your teeth !!!!.. Are they a good dentists? as you were sent home with teeth that weren't fitting properly and now this. What a pain having to go for yet another appointment.
I must stir the beef Casserole .I forgot it was in cooking and it has been in for 2and a half hours. But Chris will have to lift it out as I have just done my nails :-D :-D I am packed now(at last) ..I think.I must charge my camera up though so will do that right now before I forget :-S

I do hope Shirl isn't going to be getting a lot of snow (like New York) I did hear them say some eastern parts of Canada would get it.But I can't think how far East Shirl is.
My Casserole looks SO GOOD :-D..I have done some Mashed Potato so that will just need heating up in the microwave.James has just got in so think we will eat about 7. I am so looking forward to not having to think about cooking now for the next 3 days :-D.Just having everything cooked and then being waited on will suit me just fine :-D :-D

Frank we can't have an existing old model as they don't have climate control fitted as standard. It's an extra and If you want that (and we do!) the factory has to build the car to order and add it as the car is built. So because they aren't building any more of that model now we can't order one. That's the problem, not that there aren't any of the old models left. OH has climate control in his current car and it made a big difference and after 7 years of having it neither of us want to go back to ordinary aircon. We'll just have to see what engine options there are with the new models. :-S
Poor Ros, no wonder she's had problems. I hope the treatment helps soon. Are they the panties you throw away?
Oh Maureen sticking your foot in a pot of paint would be a nightmare to clean up! Reminds me of when dad had a bowl of emulsion on the floor and my toddler brother sat in it! I tend to put the lid or a small polythene bag next to the paint to lay brushes on now as I was always dropping them and getting fluff on them. Yes, it sounds like you stopped at just the right time!!
Mel, fancy the dentist losing your teeth. I suppose it will take a while to get used to the new ones. Why do you need another appointment? There seem to have been a lot already. Is the neighbour's cat ready and waiting for you when you feed it? Ones over the road used to sit and wait on the fence next to the neighbour who used to feed them when the owner was away. :-) It most be a bit worrying having chickens and knowing there is a fox hanging around.

Evening all,
It's been really cold today even with a little sun , tomorrow should be rain and very windy in the morning and then sun in the afternoon ,then we might get snow on thursday .
Hope the viewing goes well Gill, will you be looking for another bungalow or change to a house ? If your doing the cleaning remember don't touch the bleach !!! :-S
Poor Ros i hope the creams can give her a little relief ,i should think it's a bit of a job using cotton wool down below , we all put things off i think when it concerns our down below bits :-(
Jane , make sure you pack the thermals ,it's going to turn colder the next few days.
We had Lacey here this morning while son and DIL went to register Lewis ,they stopped and had some lunch here then left Lacey here with us for the afternoon until son picked the two girls up from school ,she sat on hubby's lap and nodded off ,the next time i looked hubby had nodded off too !! :-D All the children have got rid of their colds and are back to school .
Ann, what a nuisance with the new car ,just when you thought it was all sorted ,what car had you picked in the end ? did you look at the K*a's ? Son has a Kia S*dona it is so comfortable ,just like sitting in an arm chair and very handy having the sliding door for getting the children in easily .
Gosh Mel ,you are having trouble, fancy the dentist losing your teeth !! I hope that fox isn't hanging about after your girls !! :-0
We haven't got any hot water !! more expense !! hubby thinks it's a motorized valve ,so he got to ring the plumber tomorrow .

Ann I have known the fox is about as we have seen it many times over the back and side field. Also I have seen it in the orchard and have it on camera at night and it eats the fallen apples and poos all round the garden.
As to the appointment it is to make sure I am getting on with them and if I may need a bit more taken off the top ones. She took quite a lot off one of them.
No the cat next door dos'nt really like me because I chase it out the garden when I see it and it has been caught in the fox trap a couple of times. When you let it out it runs away like it has a banger up it's b*m. I called her the first day I went and she did come but when she saw it was someone different she shot in the garage through the cat flap.
Must get something for dinner now. Probably cold beef and chips and peas as that will keep him indoors quiet.
So sorry to here about poor Ros's problem. I hope the treatment helps with her comfort.

Hope everything goes well with Ros's biopsy Frank. It must be awful for her, let's hope something can be done to help her and that everything she has to do now helps.
We are looking at buying a house instead of another bungalow as bungalow's seem to take forever to sell round here unless they are very small. Mine is quite large and we don't really use two of the rooms.
The house will probably be smaller but more open plan rather than lots of small rooms and although we'd like another 3 bed, we would consider 2 beds as well. We have to sell this place for personal reasons, so I really hope the viewing goes well and we get a sale, then we can get our lives back on track.
Hope OH hasn't been asked to work late on Friday, he's suppose to finish work at 2pm so I booked the viewing for 3pm that way he has time to get home and have a cuppa before the woman arrives.
When are you going away Jane, sorry I can't remember what you said. Is this the holiday at the lakes or is it a different one. You've probably already said, sorry for asking again <3. Hope you have a lovely time.
Glad to hear everyone is better now Mandy, how cute to see the two of them asleep, did you take a photo. Hope you get your hot water back soon. Do you have an electric shower you could use until your water is back on.
Mel, lost teeth, you don't seem to be having much luck at your dentist. Let's hope it gets better soon.
Looks like the car dealers are pulling a fast one on you Ann. What Frank said to do sounds like a brilliant idea. Hope you get another good deal and the size of engine you want. Let's hope you can get one with climate control as well <3
