Thanks everyone for your kind words, yes he's in the best place now and like I said earlier the staff are lovely. OH has managed an hours sleep, he hasn't slept very well for the last two nights.
Pleased to see your X-ray results were good and you have now been discharged Liz. That's one less thing to worry about.
We took Sandra to Chester Zoo for her birthday a couple of years ago and are hoping to take her again this year if the weather is nice. Unfortunately it rained last time we took her so most of the animals were inside, so hopefully if we are blessed with nice weather she'll see more animals this time. I think it'll cheer her up a bit to as she's been a bit down lately.
It's a small world Anne, we used to live in Ellesmere Port about 15 years ago and I think Frank said he lived near there or in Ellesmere Port, sorry Frank I can't remember what you said now, or was it that you were thinking of moving there for work?
The fun day sounds like a good idea Frank, you should go if you get the chance. Hope the weather is nice though. It sounds like Ros is working hard on your kitchen. OH and I didn't feel like doing anymore of our kitchen today, we have done eight doors up to now, so we're getting there. I'm sure OH will get back to it when he feels up to it, there's no rush. Biggles sound like a very well behaved dog.
That's a lot of parcel's Mandy, it must be long days for the delivery drivers.
It sounds like a fun packed day for you Jane, they're going to love the card you bought them.
Just settling down to watch the Grand National, we watched the Qualifying for the F1 earlier, but I don't think much of it stuck in our heads. I can't even remember where Hamilton is on the grid, all I know is he isn't in pole position. I'll find out tomorrow when we watch the race.
Well, the National is starting in a minute, so I'll grab a cuppa and watch it. Hopefully this post will go through, as I got the error page before when I posted.

He's in 4th place Gill.
I have been in the garden this afternoon. I have ground elder on the rockery sort of bit outside the kitchen window. I meant to spray it off last year and forgot so it has spread like wildfire. I have put some Roundup on some bits that are inbetween plants so we will see if it works. My back is aching like billy o now.
I am just going to put the oven on for the chips to go with our steak tonight. I bought rump again this week as it has much more flavour than the fillet lately.

Thanks Mel for letting me know what position Hamilton is in. I seem to be watching TV but not actually taking in what's happening, I'm also tired which doesn't help. OH and I haven't slept very well lately and I think it's all catching up with us now.
What a shame you forgot to get rid of the ground elder last year, I hope the Roundup works and it's soon all gone. Maybe a hot bath would help you're achy back. Enjoy your steak tonight.

Morning all,
Had trouble getting on here again this morning and I had to go to Find Ancestors and then General Chat and then this thread from page one. Skip through 10 pages at a time and then stretch it out a bit until I finally got here.
Its wet here today with grey skies. I forgot to put the washing out yesterday so put it out late last night. It is'nt dry even though its under cover.
We shall be watching the race today so it dos'nt matter about the weather really.
Saw a hedgehog last night so they are about. I am only putting out dried food at the moment.

Drizzly here this morning but not cold! Yesterday was lovely, all the washing dried beautifully, and is now folded and put away!! Lots of gardening done including planting onion sets and cutting the little lawn, seeds in the greenhouse are turning into seedlings, so we're feeling quite pleased with ourselves! Today, not doing much! walking Cas and Chicken for lunch!! Hope Gill is ok, and coping with all her problems. Thinking about sorting out my summer clothes! Maybe tomorrow!!

Good morning my lovelies,
What a nuisance having the rain last night. I so much wanted to get the lawns done today.
I managed to strip the wall yesterday morning. I loosened the light switch to get the paper off under it. The whole box came out of the wall, and undoing so theories must have touched. A BIG FLASH and the lights all went out. I had to get the steps and get to the fuse box to reset the fuses with the reset button. I still have to cooker to rise the time. BUT. Jonathan is very kindly coming round later to refit the light switch, and try to find my "AIROPLANE" so I can answer and send emails.
I had chilli and salted chicken wings from the Chinese last night. BOY, did th chilli play me up. I had Gravestone but the indigestion continued. I went to bed at 11.00 and laid burping and got up at midnight. I sat and read, while Ros watched her Jewellery programme. WE BOTH WENT TO BED AT 1.00 am. First time we have gone to bed at the same time in YEARS. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Nothing sort of day here. I expect it to rain later, but next week should be much better with Temps. up to 27 degrees.
I had better get showered and dressed before number FOUR son turns up.That's what Ros calls Jonathan. lol lol. He's always there if we need him.

Morning all
Damp and drizzly today, I've changed a few small pots around in the border as some were past their best and other's just coming into flower, so the border is full of nice flowers again.
OH and I slept a little better last night although both of us were up around 7am. We have finished off the doors we put up the other day, just straightening them up and putting the door knobs on, although one of the door knobs has broken so it looks like we might end up buying new ones after all. There was a door knob on another old door that we couldn't get off so OH is cutting the door around the knob to see if it's possible to get it off that way and possibly use it, at least we'll have something to open the door with until we can buy new ones.
The weather was lovely yesterday and had we been in the mood we probably would of done a bit of gardening, but given everything that's happened recently we just didn't feel like doing anything, the same today which is why we're not putting up anymore doors today. I've woken with a bit of a headache, but I think it's stress so hopefully it'll go soon as I've just taken a painkiller. We're just planning on watching the race this afternoon, then catch up with a few programmes off the planner as that it almost full now. I'm sure the kitchen will be done eventually if we do a bit at a time when we feel up to it.
How lovely your seedlings are starting up in your greenhouse Liz, it must be the warmer weather, it shouldn't be to long before you can pot them on.
Oh dear Frank, I hope you didn't hurt yourself, electrics can be so dangerous. Nice of Jonathan to sort it out for you. Hope he can sort out your emails for you too.
So you've seen the hedgehog Mel, our neighbour said he'd seen one in his garden the other week, which surprised me as it was when the bad weather was around. I don't suppose it'll be long before they are back in our garden now the days have warmed up. I still don't remember Hamilton being in 4th place, my concentration at the moment is terrible, I can be watching something on TV but then my mind wanders and I miss part of the programme. If it's not my mind wandering it's dosing off on the sofa as I've been really tired lately too.
Well, OH has managed to get the door knob off the door so that'll be going up now then we're having an early lunch, so we're cleared up before the race starts.

Frank we go to bed at the same time EVERY night! Except if one of us was away or working late, we always have!! We get up at the same time too, always have - it would seem really odd not to!! We've finally managed to get the Syringa bush out! It's now on the bonfire waiting for a fine day. We've now got to decide what to replace both those bushes with! decisions, decisions!! Chicken is in the slow cooker, lunch will be about 3.00.

Afternoon all,
Liz, There were the days we went to bed together, but I have always been before Ros. When we had the Post Office and Grocers shop I was up to get the veg delivery sorted and the bread, which were left in the garage. Once that was all sorted I would go back up for breakfast before opening at 9.00 am I had two women working most days, so Ros could do the Cash and Carry run, do the banking and the housework, cooking and cleaning. Her Dad would come over most days. I would find him little jobs to do, as he hated being on his own after his wife passed away. Later of course he came to live with us when he had Cancer and died in the flat above the shop.
That was a bit drawn out wasn't it ??
Jonathan has been round, he has sorted the switch out and my "PLANE" on the computer. He said I had Deleted my TOOL BAR.
We had another shower earlier, it's not cold but just down right miserable.
Ros is still beavering away in the kitchen, getting more wallpaper off the walls. I have just called her to come and have a sit down for a while, NOT YET came the reply. !!
It's been agreed that we won't be going to the funeral. It will mean leaving here at 8.00 am if not before. Remembering the M 1 traffic at that time in the morning and the M 25 is always hit and miss. I have spoken too my SIL this morning and she quite understands.
Back to my book, before getting dinner on. we will eat between 4.30 and 5.00 pm Then Madam will sit down for the rest of the day !!! I will make sure of it

Afternoon Everyone I see there are a lot of posts from yesterday (I haven't read them yet) .Other than to see your BIL is comfortable Gill in the hospice now.It sounds a lovely place and a peaceful one for him to spend his last weeks :-(
Yesterday was quite full on.We both feel exhausted . We got to St Pancras at 12 and had lunch, then got a taxi to London County Hall where we met up with H&G. The adaptation of Agatha Christies Witness for the Prosecution was brilliant. One of the main Characters was the lad who plays BEN MITCHELL in Eastenders. The gay son of Phil (ROS WILL KNOW FRANK) . After it finished we were waiting out the front of the building sorting out a taxi and there was BEN having a ciggie. No -one else seemed to recognise him. Gareth is not shy in coming forward lol and went up to him and asked it he would have his pic taken with me and Hannah.(embarrassing or what) What a lovely young man he is. We chatted about Eastenders and whether he will be coming back(I think he will ;-) ) We then went for a meal and it was all wedding talk :-D :-D. The date is December 15th. .They were over the moon with the card and cheque. They think they will Honeymoon in Kerala (India) where Hannah went a couple of years ago with 2 of her friends. So they will go for Xmas and New Year. I seem to have got nothing done today other than get dinner in the slow cooker. I need to ring my sister now and tell the the date of the wedding. BBL

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Sandra took it pretty badly and had a good cry. I had to ring Michelle to let her know so Sandra spoke with her sister which helped. OH is okay, well, as Okay as he can be and I'm okay too. OH's older brother has taken it badly. OH's mum and BIL's wife were with BIL when the time came so he wasn't alone. His mum seems to be coping quite well but we will be keeping an eye on her as I don't think it's hit her properly yet.
I haven't caught up with any posts yet, going to spend some time with my family, hopefully be back here tomorrow.

I'm back from the Dr's!, and she's very pleased with my BP results. After putting me on new pills it's stabilised at a regular reading, so I'm relieved with that. I've got a patient referal sheet for some physiotherapy on my leg so I must fill that in and get it off! We're thinking of changing our car! We both feel that we need something smaller and cheaper to run. Son is looking for us so it gives him and OH something to chat about and chew over!! Hope Gill and family are feeling better this morning. It's awful when someone dies, I do feel for them all. Cloudy here but not cold!!
