It ain't half hot MUM. wow. I just looked at the temp. in the lounge which is in the shade and it's showing 26 degrees, so lord only know what it is in the sun ???
Liz, I am on Co-coldimol (sp) for pain. We do our scripts once a month, but they never give me enough to last a month, so we have to order more in the last week or so, which is so stupid. The reason for Chemists not giving out more than three days, is that the tablets are either sold on as highs, or used for suicide attempts.. You as a customer of a certain age, don't come into the equation. But they have to abide by the rules laid down, which I agree are ridiculous,
I have just watered/filled all the trays in the greenhouse. It took seven watering cans to do it. Ros has been on the front garden all afternoon, weeding, re-setting self sets of all descriptions. She has even given some to Pam next door, and VAL. I can't see VAL doing anything with them, other than throw them in the bin.
I bet you are glad (NOT) to have had your BARNET (hair) done this afternoon Jane, I bet you were pleased when it was over, and you could get back in the fresh air. lol
Poor old "BIGGLES" he doesn't know where to lie to keep cool. He's in and out of the back door, but ends up lying in the middle of the lounge floor, catching what little breeze is coming through. I have been in shorts and bare chested since my shower.
I bet Ros will be pleased to be in a NICE COLD CHURCH this evening, with the choir practice, while we have to put up with the heat.
I am so pleased we have the cotton sheets on the bed now. I love getting into a nice cold bed.
I had better go and get the chicken on, as Ros will need to be out by 6.45 pm. I have recorded her soaps, for when I go to bed. What a STAR I am !!!!

PHEWY !!! This heat is stonking !! I have just got home and went upstairs to change my top and it is like a sauna up there. I meant to draw the curtains earlier but forgot. I did the lounge ones and it is more comfortable down here . Mind you I do have the big fan blowing :-D. The other one will have to go up to the bedroom tonight. Thomas is trying to find any cool place he can.I think he is under the patio table at the moment.
Liz, I would do what you are thinking of doing and go to several different Chemists for Co-Codamol. My painkillers are Codeine and Paracetamol. I can take 2 at a time but tend to just take 1 and a normal paracetamol (only bcause 2 would cause cause constipation ). I think Physio might well help you so I would give it a go and just see. I can take Ibuprofen too .I have had to buy one of those pill boxes with days on as i seem to be having so many of the darned things .Really I should have got the one with morning /noon /and evening.
I bet Biggles's moustache blows if he can catch a bit of a breeze :-D. I do feel sorry for any animal in this heat. They must be like us and not used to this sudden change. I think we are 20 degs higher now than this time last week !!!!!! Crazy isnt it. But I suppose we shouldnt moan. But then we wouldnt be British if we didnt LOL
I am glad Cas is ok with Jasper now Liz.Maybe they will become the best of friends pals :-)
I suppose I had better go and find Chris who is somewhere down the garden and let him know I am home . I have been back for 40 minutes !!.

Frank I hope the funeral went ok today with no trouble between the families. I think it is just the most appalling thing when things kick off at funerals. It is just total lack of respect . Good idea for both sides of the family to have the wakes at different places :-D I have Sausages in the oven ,and then some Chicken and Chorizo Kebabs to go in. Potato Rosti and Salad . It is still too hot to even think about eating yet. I would just love ot have a little paddle in the sea right now :-D

I put some beers in the fridge earlier, so they should be nice a cool when I want one.
Yes Jane a nice paddle would be nice, but I don't think it's warm enough for a swim. Not that I can anymore, but still be nice.
Th neighbours across the road. John who is 84 went to town on the bus this morning in shorts. He did look strange walking down the street with his shopping bags. His wife was in a skirt and cardigan.
Biggles has been picked up now and Ros has gone to Choir practice. So HOME ALONE.
I see on the news that Dale Winton's death is now being thought not to be natural causes. or as the say UNEXPLAINED. !!!!
Still very warm and all doors and windows open. Bedroom curtains drawn, as the sun is shining straight in there.
See you in the morning. xx

Hope you are enjoying your Beers tonight Frank. I am off to bed bow. Dinner was rubbish :-S All dried out because we were sitting out chatting to James for so long. His head is a bit mashed at the moment with work . He needs a break . So thinking of just taking himself off for a few days to clear his brain and think about what he wants to do. Chris says he is a bit concerened about him .
I think it is time for bed. Thomas is stretchd out with paws in the air on the settee in the study. I shall leave him there .He woke me this morning by patting my face LOL Night Night x

We had a lovely visit from M, so much so that neither he nor Jasper were in any hurry to go home!! Sorry to hear about James Jane, perhaps he feels that he's in a rut and not really going anywhere with his life. It's very difficult to give advise because at the end of the day only he can sort out where he's going and what he wants. I hope he manages to work it out. Misty morning here so I've changed the bed and am planning to cut the grass! Apart from that, nothing!!! They've ploughed the field over the road so we will have to use our own paddock from now on for Cas's run! Not to worry as we've had a good run (!!) for our money!

Morning all
We had a phone call yesterday with the date for the funeral, it's the 1st May. It's hit OH now so I might not be on here for a few days.
I haven't read the posts yet so hope everyone is okay. OH wants to see his brother in the funeral home so I'll be sorting that out for him today. His mum gave us a name of the place but we've never heard of it, so I'm going to try and Google it then I think we'll have to contact them to arrange a date and time.

Morning all,
Another beautiful day not a cloud in thd sky.
It does sound as if James needs a break he does some very long days and things can soon catch up with you and you get run down a little bit of me time might be the answer and i hope he soon feels better.
Just washed my floors over before it gets to hot so when Colin gets back from doing his jobs I'll get the coffee on.
I have a bit of a sore throat so we haven't been to see Colins sister , it's hay fever time too so that hasn't helped.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Good morning to you all,
How old is James now Jane ?? It must be so difficult for him, he takes a job while he's looking for the right one. That doesn't come up, and he gets stuck in a rut.. I hope he is able to get himself sorted. Give him my kind regards.
Good idea to get the jobs out of the way Mandy, then the day is your own, to do what you like.
Thats a pity you have lost the paddock for Cas to run and exercise in, one consolation is it won'r be for ever. Wha's the farmer putting in the paddock Liz,??
I'm all showered and shave, dressed ready to walk to the doctors for my monthly injection. Ros has offered to take me, but as it's a nice morning and I have plenty of time, I will walk.
We have a voucher for 25% off of food at the pub in the next village, so will be going there today, It will save cooking tonight.
Ros is going to hang the first bit of wallpaper this morning by the porch door. Then that end of the kitchen will be finished.
The Funeral went off without a hitch. I spoke to SIL last night. The Crem was packed and all the standing area was full, the doors were open and some people were outside.
O'm off now, have an enjoyable day whatever you are doing. Watch the SUNBURN !!!!

Morning Frank and all,
Yet another sunny day here, how about where you all are?
Did we hear from Mandy yesterday? I hope everythings ok with Colin's sister. Sending love <3.
The Wren is still busy with the nest in oh's filter shed to the big pond. I think its just moss he is taking in the now. Oh seemed to think he was taking feathers in there. He has closed the door of the shed so I am only getting black and white pictures on the screen.
I really don't know where this week has gone. Its Friday again and Gardeners World is on the telly tonight but I feel as if I only saw the last on a couple of days ago.
Hope Gill and family are all ok.

Frank we've only lost the big field over the road which doesn't belong to us. We've still got our own paddock (3/4 acre) which is where Merlin goes to take her for runs. Taking her in the big field was only for convenience as it saved having to keep a bit of an eye on Merlin (or getting him into his yard) when we throw the ball for Cas. I don't know what they're planting this year! I'm now about to mow the little lawn!!

Good afternoon all
Like everyone it's scorching hot here so haven't felt like doing much at all.,
Sorry to hear that James is going through a sticky patch with his job Jane it does sound like he needs a change, has he started to look for something else? It is a concern when it's adult children who aren't happy with their life it does sound like a break is what he could do with.
Our 2 cats and George are all in the garden flat out in the shade of the trees..Ruby at the moment is laying flat out on the settee beside me.
It's good that the funeral went off without any trouble Frank. I hope you enjoy your meal 25% off is a good deal and well worth having

Well the nurse drew blood this morning when injecting mu btm, got blood on my shirt, which she cleaned off. I didn't realise that this time she was taking bloods also. The results will be back sometime next week.
Ros (bless her) has been papering up by the door and had to get behind FOUR light switches. One of which Jonathan rewired and fitted last Sunday. When loosening the screws the box in the wall came adrift again. I had to disconnect the electric while I got a larger (thicker) screw, to screw the box back into position. The wires are all taped up, I will get someone in to connect it up again. It's only the porch light so not important.
Still a beautiful day here. Tony has his gardener chap here, recutting his lawns and DOING THE EDGES. When he's finished in there he is coming round to dig out the roots of a bush that Ros wants out, in the front garden. She has a Rhododendron to go in it's place. I will get him to cut down a EUCALYPTUS tree in the back garden. It's grown so leggy and tall, it looks unsightly. I suppose she will find something to replace that. ;-) ;-)
Simon rang again this morning checking on us. He seems to do that on a regular basis, which is nice that he bothers. We haven't heard from Harvey since he came up a couple of weeks ago. I expect we will have to ring him, as per usual. We keep in touch with Conrad via Jan.
Jan went out to Spain pn Wednesday to see Conrad for a weak or so, and she will be back out there when we go at the end of MAY. Alright for some. !!!
Ros has now finished for today, the gardener chap dug out the roots and will come back with his chainsaw to get the tree down in a couple of weeks.
This MacBook seems to put words into a sentence just when it likes. I keep having to change them :-P :-P :-P
See you all later.

Afternoon Everyone What a beautiful day .Much more pleasant than yesterdays heat. It is still a little too hot for me though.I have just finished all the ironing and putting everything away. The only things still on the line are all of James's socks. They will be bone dry now.
I am so pleased Frank that the funeral went off ok with no bother. He must have been a well liked man to have so many people turn up. Enjoy your meal tonight.
It sounds like the nest must just about be finished Mel, and now hopefully there will soon be some eggs laid :-D
Gill,I do hope OH will be ok.As you say it has probably hit him now. Were they close Brothers? One thing I have never been able to do is to go and see someone in the coffin in the funeral parlour. It is just something I can't do.
Frank, James is 32.I think that he really needs to make that decision to change his job soon. It would most likely to be London way(I would think). He was headhunted by 2 companies but one was Birmingham and the other Milton Keynes . He definitely doesnt want Birmingham amd Milton Keynes is just down the road ,well just under an hour. He needs to get away from here and not be living at home . Then there is Jess down in Canterbury for another couple of years. Long distance relationships cant be easy and he wont be wanting to go any further North. He has a long enough kourney from here to see her. He is off again this evening.!I think he said he might be meeting up with Hannah tomorrow.
I dont know where Thomas has got to. He has been out since 5am and I haven' t seen him since :-S. I always start to worry when it gets this long. Chris has been in his element today putting up loads of canes and nets etc and once it cools off a bit will be planting Peas and Beans . I have a tall chimney pot in the front garden .One of those tall thin ones and want to put a plant in the top. Any ideas please :-D :-D It is not a wide top. I was thinking of something that will trail a good way down.
I went to Morrisons today for the first time in many many years. I must say I was really impressed with the Cheese /Cold Meat/Deli counter and also the Butchery Dept. Far more choice than Tesco !!! I can I shall be going back there again. The last time I went you had to pay to park and I was wandering around for ages looking for a ticket machine. But now it is free for up to 2 and a half hours. I got some lovely Ham on the Bone which we will have tonight with Egg and Chips and a couple of lovely looking Rib Eye Steaks for tomorrow
I think I need to go and get a couple of painkillers. Standing all that time doing the ironing has not done my back any good.
I have actually got a dress on !!!!! One of the linen ones I got last year in next. I started to weed the gravel out he front and then realised that bending over with my backside facing the road was not such a good idea !!! I could well have caused a crash :-S

Oops I seem to have missed Anne and Franks posts.
Anne I am hoping that Thomas has found a shady place somewhere and is just snoozing inbetween doing a bit of hunting. I shall have to replace his food and milk I put down this morning which will have died up and the milk gone off.
Frank when I read your first sentence I thought you meant the Nurse had drawn blood from your Bottom injection. Was that right or was it the arm you were talking about? I bet the heat made the blood come out quicker from your arm today. Hope your shirt won't be stained. Blood is just so difficult to shift. It is nice that Simon rings to see how you are. Shame Harvey is not the same. Well it wont be long then before you go to Spain. The end of May will come around really quickly now. How long did you say you and Ros are going for? 2 or 3 weeks? What part of Spain?
I went out just now to put the new Herbs that Chris bought this morning in my Herb Trough ,but he is just doing them. I was a bit miffed as I wanted to do them. But I am secretly relieved as I would have had to keep stopping and standing up straight every few minutes to ease my back. What a crock I am :-S

I have been up the church this afternoon to put a pot of daffs on mums stone and to collect my Easter wreath thing. It was'nt in the porch but I went in the church and it was on the windowsill by the bell tower so I brought it back home.
Frank I am pleased the funeral went off ok and there was'nt any disagreement.

Jane I meant to say if you get blood on something just put it in some COLD water with a lot of salt on the stain and leave it for a while and then give it a rub and most of it should come out. Then put some soap on it, any hand soap, and wash it under cold water and it should disappear. NEVER put warm or hot water on it or you will never get it out.
