Hope Frank enjoys his stay in Hastings [my home town] Mel mentioned St Mary Star of the Sea, we were married there in 1960.No green man in those days. We are spending a week there in October for Mark's birthday.
Good to hear Sandra enjoyed her day at the zoo and then MacDonald's for the evening meal bless her.
Oh your poor sister Mandy the fracture it's self is bad enough but being right handed as well makes it even worse for her.
Liz has Cas had a trip in the cage yet? When we had two boxers and a Volvo estate car they went in the back in a cage ,much safer as they were big dogs.

Afternoon All
I expect Frank and Ros will be all settles in at Hastings now. At least they are sure to be getting some good weather while they are there :-D I have never been to Hasting Anne and did nt realise it is your home town.
So the visit to the Zoo was a great hit for Sandra. I am so glad she had such a lovely day. I think the birthday card I sent her had a Flamingo on Gill :-D. The Snow Globe the the Flamingo in will be her pride and joy now :-D. Bet you cant wait for the next series of the Zoo after being part of the crew ;-) :-D
Last night or I should say this morning at 5am I was woken by the dreadful sound of a cat fight !!!!. It was obviously Thomas and I am guessing that black cat that we have seen a coule of times. I scared me half to death. I was out of bed in a flash and clapping my hands out the window and then I was down the stairs and looking around the front drive in my nightie and then the back garden ,but there was no sign of either . When I saw Thomas later this morning he did have what looked ot be a few loose tufty bits of fur on the back of his neck but I couldnt find any damage. I wonder with having such thick fur it makes it more difficult for claws to get through to the skin. I hope this isnt going to be a regular occurrence now :-S :-S
I have just watched the Chateau and must make a start on dinner.
How is your Sister today Mandy after her fall and broken wrist? Has she had the full plaster on now?. It is going to be a bit difficult for her being right handed, hopefully though she will manage ok.
Its very cloudy here now and it seems quite dark . It is very still with not a breath of wind.

Yes Anne, I took Cas out this afternoon, and she was fine!! She's not that keen on the rear wiper as its much closer to her now!! :-( but apart from giving it a bit of a look she was as ok!! Dark here this evening, but warmer! OH is making a list of things to put on EBay as its a freebie over the bank holiday. He is also giving our mobile milling machine a good clean and general overhaul ready to sell as we won't be using that anymore! Washing all dried outside today so have only got to fold it and get it away! I've got one shirt which I'll have to iron!! :-| it's a winter one so can wait and then go away till the autumn! Fish fingers chips and peas for supper!

Sorry Liz I did mean to say you when I mentioned the window cleaning. So they are nice and clean now. It sounds like you had a lovely lunch.
Your lunch sounded nice too Mandy. Yes it is quite a bit to pay out if you only go once in a blue moon. Plus when you're there you spend more money in the shop and on food and drink. It can be quite a lot for one day out which is why we don't go that often.
That must of been such a shock to hear the cat fight Jane, knowing that it involved Thomas. Good job he has all that fur and didn't get hurt. Have you seen the other cat or has Thomas seen it off for good? Yes, you did send her a card with a Flamingo on it, she loved it and has now kept it with all her other birthday cards. She keeps all the cards you all send her.
I went to Hastings as a child Anne, but don't really remember it with being so young. I remember rolling down a big hill with my sister though. Funny the things you remember isn't it?

Oh I didnt know Ian was not going be doing any more of his lovely woodwork . I rember way back looking at your website showing the lovely house signs etc. That will make a bit more space for you when that machine goes. Gareths Dad does a lot of woodwork and has made all sorts ,even tables and chairs.I dont know how much he does now .I think it is just a hobby really. He still works and has all his cows and Bull to look after too so probably doesnt have too much time for the Woodwork. I think it is a busy time for calving now.At tle last count I heard of there were 13 babies but there must be many more now.
It is very oppressive weather today and making both of feel terribly lethargic and a bit 'off' if you know what I mean. Thomas has lounged around for most of the day and I can see him now all curled around the Olive Tree in the pot LOL . I thought he had gone off down the garden .
We wont be doing anything over the Bank Holiday weekend other than the garden and nothing much else. I expect James might meet up with some friends if they are around. Most of them now have babies. He decided not to drive down again to Jess for the BH and she is nt coming here. I think I am going to suggest it is time James gave his room a good spring clean :-D. It certainly needs it :-S
Cas sounds fine in her new cage Liz even with the wiper being so much closer :-D
We have had trouble with the internet going down today. It took me ages to get it back on this morning. I did notice an Out Reach Van just up the road doing stuff so whether it was something to do with them I dont know. It seems fine now so fingers crossed it stays that way :-D

It's good to hear Cas is okay in the car and not to bothered about the window wiper Liz. Good luck selling all your things on Ebay.
Love the picture of Thomas Jane, it made me smile :-D :-D That's the thing with this sort of weather it tends to make you feel tired. Hope you're Internet stays on for you, it's quite annoying when it goes off isn't it?

Thank you Elizabethofseasons and the same for you. x
I only said to oh today it is one of those quiet days. Everything was still and he said he hoped it was'nt the quiet before the storm!!
I got all my strawberries sorted this afternoon and then oh needed petrol for the mowers so we went off late and got that and picked up F & C in Hatherleigh. They are a bit more expensive than Holsworthy but the fish was wonderful and they wrap it seperate from the chips so it dos'nt stick to the chips and stays crispy too. They also put it in paper carriers.
I do hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing.
I see Cas has tried out the new cage. She'll soon get used to it Liz.
Just love the picture of Thomas in the olive tree pot!! Somewhere I have a picture of one of my cats in my handbag which was hanging up at the time. I never saw how it got in there but it was one of those open topped string type bags with long leather handles.
I saw two hogs together in the feeding ring last night so Iknow there are two visiting the garden. There is lots of hog poo about all over the garden too.

I was been sitting outside earlier watching 2 Bats flying around the garden :-D Lots of nice insects in the air for them I think :-D Still waiting for Thomas to come in..I want to go to bed ! A warmer day tomorrow coming up :-D
Mel I often find it incredible how cats can find there way into the most strangest of places. I bet your cat was nice and cosy in your handbag :-DIt must have been like a hammock lol
I am turning the laptop off now so night night everyone.

Good morning everyone,
It was all misty when I got up at 20 to 7am so I went back to bed and when I woke again it was sunshine wall to wall so it soon burnt the mist off.
Only have to deliver the eggs and get the paper this morning then I am not going anywhere but in the garden. I still hav'nt got up the border so really must get on with that. The delphiniums are quite high and the peonies so they will need some stake and things to keep them upright and other things still hav'nt been cut down.

Beautiful morning here. Finished the windows and put fly pen round the edges! that should do the trick!! Weekend in the garden for us although we have been offered two free tickets for Badminton tomorrow. Don't think we shall go as it will be heaving with people and all that walking might prove a bit of a challenge!! Ian decided to give up doing the house signs about a year ago Jane, but hung onto the machine just to make sure. He now is sure, so it can go along with certain ancillary tools and timber. It's served us well in semi- retirement, but now it's just too much hassle!! Must have a look at the Clematis as it's about to flower and should be gorgeous in a day or two! Enjoy your day everyone, whatever you are doing. :-D

Liz ,now Ian has finally decided to give up the woodwork he will feel fine about getting rid of everything .It must be quite a hard thing to do though.
Well it is still hot hot hot here too Mel . We finally have some peace after a whole day of hedge cutting and I dont know what else from next door. It sounded like some drilling going on too.In fact it is so quiet ,that just shows how long it was going on for. Even the A14 doesn't sound too noisy.......Thomas turned up :-D I think he might have got a whiff of the Chicken I was cooking. I gave him a couple of little bits but he only had a smidgen. I really think he is stuffed with Rabbit !!! He looks almost comatosed on the patio now !!
Hannah and Gareth ave chosen the song/music for the wedding ceremony (walking down the Aisle . It is lovely . Called' Higher Love' .This is a new version of the Original by Steve Winwood back in 1986 The one singing this version for the wedding is a James Vincent Mc Morrow !!. I tell you it gave me goosebumps and I needed the tissues. I had to google the original and remeber it now. I love it .Had a great beat . :-D

A good choice I would say Jane.
Think about it, there must be higher love Down in the heart or hidden in the stars above Without it, life is a wasted time Look inside your heart, I'll look inside mine Things look so bad everywhere In this whole world, what is fair? We walk blind and we try to see Falling behind in what could be Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Where's that higher love I keep thinking of? Worlds are turning and we're just hanging on Facing our fear and standing out there alone A yearning, and it's real to me There must be someone who's feeling for me Things look so bad everywhere In this whole world, what is fair? We walk blind and we try to see Falling behind in what could be Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Where's that higher love I keep thinking of? I will wait for it I'm not too late for it Until then, I'll sing my song To cheer the night along Bring it...Oh bring it... I could light the night up with my soul on fire I could make the sun shine from pure desire Let me feel that love come over me Let me feel how strong it could be Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Bring me a higher love Where's that higher love I keep thinking of?
I have been fighting with a rose and its been fighting back. I forgot how prickly it is and forgot to put my gloves on at first. When I looked down at my left hand the palm was red with blood. Went back out with gloves on and had to get my hanky out of my pocket and forgot to put the glove back on and it got me on my right hand this time and another red paln as it got me on the fat bit of the base of the thumb so I nearly have two matching hands now as the left one is on that part too.

Evening all,
It's been so warm today ,i must admit i haven't done much just changed the bed ,hung the washing out and hoovered through .
Jane that song sounds lovely for the wedding ,what will you be like on the day if it's making you cry now :-D you'll need to stock up on the tissues . Poor Thomas was he laying on wire netting in that pot LOL he must be comfy in it or he wouldn't have laid there . Did you take him to the vet or has he perked up a bit .
I bet there will be lots of BBQ's over the next few days with this lovely weather , we need a new BBQ as we dumped our old one and haven't got round to getting another .
I have a nice piece of Gammon to cook tomorrow that should last us a few days ,a bit of salad and a few potaotes makes a nice easy meal .
I wonder how Frank is doing ,bet he's had a few pints to keep cool.

I can't get to the last page so haven't read your posts.
We've been in the garden most of the day sorting out a border and planting pots up. I put Sandra's strawberries in the greenhouse so the birds don't get them and we finally dug up the big plant we wanted to pot and move to the other side of the garden, so that's in place now.
Poor Sandra was pegging the bedding out for me and stepped backwards and fell into the big boarder she has hurt her elbow and back. I don't think I've ever run so quick in my life. OH was out at the time but turned up a few minutes after her accident and checked her over, I'd put some cold flannels on her elbow and back.. After she told me where it hurt all she could think about was my plants and said she heard a crack so knows one of the pots got broke. I told her I didn't care about the plants just her and not to worry. After we knew she was okay, just a bit battered and bruised and I had run her a bath, I checked the plants, she had broken one of the pots but it was only a small one so thankfully didn't do herself to much harm. She is so lucky it wasn't one of the heavier big ones or she might of done herself more damage. I think she's going to be a bit sore for a day or two, but thankfully no broken bones.

O poor Sandra give her my love please and I hope she dos'nt ache too much tomorrow. The bath should have helped to relax her so I hope she gets a good nights sleep in. <3 <3
I am missing Frank already.................................. I like his posts in the mornings.
Oh took over from me with the rose bush. He got the chain saw out and it was down in an instant. It is a ground cover rose really but it has gone up the box hedge. It flowers only once really but the smell is to die for.
We did'nt have our steak tonight as it was'nt that nice last week and I had bought two slices off the same bit!! I shan't do that again. I had got a bit of lamb out for yesterday and as we had F & C I cooked the lamb for tonight with cabbage carrots roasties and onions and stuffing for oh. It was lovely...............
I am worn out now and have back ache so I am now going to have a relax and watch some telly.

Morning Liz and all,
Sunshine here too today. Oh is working in the garden clearing the stuff he dumped on the lawn of the orchard. It will be nice to have a clear view up the orchrd once again. We are talking about cutting the box hedge down to a reasonable height but are going to do the sides first after the birds have nested. There is a pigeon who always nests in the same places, once in the hedge and another time in the red tree by the ponds.
I hope Sandra is not too sore this morning after her fall into the plants and pots. How's her elbows this morning? <3
