Morning Mel and All

Just back from having my MRI. I was in the thing for 20 minutes so it wasnt too long but long enough lying flat.
It is so windy here today!!!. and no sun at all.Maybe it iwll come out later. We are just having a coffee and will then be off to Northampton for lunch and then the Cinema to see Nothing Like a Dame . Maggie Smith and Judi Dench are in it so it should be good.

Mel you will have ot get OH a pair of braces LOL Chris always wears then with his gardening trousers because of the same problem :-D

I expect Frank will be on his way to Peterborough for the new Passports. I do hope the forms are ok. I have always paid the Post Office to do that check as a couple of times we have made mistakes on the forms and it is a real faff having to do them all over again.

I will be back this evening.

Afternoon all,

A much cooler day here i think we'll need the fire lit later , it's very windy too.

Bet your glad that's over and done with Jane ,now a wait for the results , poor Colin is always sick after going in the scanner , hope you enjoy your lunch and film .

I had to smile when you said OH's trousers dropped down Mel i bet you had a
giggle :-D
What a palaver with your glasses ,i should think they'll let you keep those and make you up a new pair for free after all this .

Hope Frank has managed to get things sorted out today at the pass port office .

Frank Report 16 May 2018 15:05

We are HOME. We left here at 10.15, arrived in plenty of time to get a coffee in a local teashop. Roa baked right outside row passport office with her blue badge I went in for my appointment at 11.50 am. I hd to queue for half an hour, which didn't agree with my back and legs. Why give you a 12 noon appointment if they don't see you till 12.30. GREAT that the forms were in order, and th passports should be here in SEVEN DAYS.

We stopped at Northampton for a bite to eat, which will save me cooking tonight.

All I want to do now is crash out in the armchair and get some well deserves sleep. I hardly slept last night, thinking of today.

It's been a horrible, cold and windy day after yesterday. Lets hope it gets better tomorrow.

What is going on with the posting??They are all the wrong way around if you look at the times they were posted.

I am having a terrible time getting to the last page of the thread every tim e I try I have to cross everything out and start again and even then I don't get here and have to page jump.

I am pleased your passports are all sorted now so you won't have to worry about those now. Just make sure when you get them that you leave them where you know where they are and tell us lot where you have put them please? that way when you can't find them you have us lot to ask where they are. <3 I bet you find the others now.............

Well its been a sort of nothing day today. I did get hoovered in the kitchen and diner this morning but all I have done this afternoon is hang out a bit of washing and undone a handbag I want to use the material from.

Toady in the ol hole tonight for dinner so I am going to make the batter now.

I don't want to talk it up but i never have any problems getting on here ,i hover over where it says Community and then scroll down to General chat and click on it ,i then find the thread and click on it and then click on post date and the last posting comes up .

I meant to say earlier that i had a nice chat with Nicko today ,he looks nice and tidy and told me he now has a nice room in a house ,well it's individual rooms and they all share a kitchen ,i'm so pleased he now has a roof over his head .
He told me he will never forget the piece of toast i took over to him one morning ,just to have a nice hot piece of toast with lovely butter on is some thing he won't forget ,i said it was only a small thing but he said he was a big thing to him .

Brightened up here now but still chilly so we have lit the fire .

So glad you've sorted out your passport Frank. I thought I'd better check ours today as we have been asked to a wedding in Austria later this summer, also to stay on for a few days afterwards. L will have Merlin and M will have Cas, so they won't be a problem. I haven't been to Austria for many many years and OH has never been there, so it's something to really look forward to. The passports are safely in the filing cabinet!
Cold here, but not a bad day. Hope you enjoyed the film Jane.

Jane

Jane Report 16 May 2018 18:46

I too get through to the last post ok Mandy.I do it the same way as you.The onlything I did find is that it takes for ever to actually get on GR.

So Frank, you can think about what to pack now you are all set up with the Passports :-D. For heavens sake don't lose these ones!! :-D :-D

I am so glad Nicko is doing well Mandy and is now a room of his own. It must seem like a different world now after spending so long sleeping rough. How nice he remembers that lovely bit of hot buttered toast :-DI must have meant a lot to him.

I am not feeling the best tonight. So will be having a very early night I think. I think it might just be the Pollen blowing around which is making me feel so yucky. Lunch was good and the film something very different. It was just a film of the 4 actresses who are now Dames at one of their houses and they were just chatting about all the years they have known eachother and their acting careers. Sounds boring ,but I actually really enjoyed it. I think it would be better just to be shown on TV really..I seem to think it was made for the TV .

Mandy I wonder what makes OH sick after he has an MRI. I do remember last time he was very sick on the way home.He must really hate having to go for one :-S.

Nothing to eat for us tonight, other than a Banana for me as I have to have food to take my tablet. I am just doing Ravioli with a Beef and Red wine filling for James ,a sauce to pour over(from a jar) and a couple of slices of Garlic Bread.

I hope you enjoyed your Fish Pie today with M Liz.
I'll say cheerio for today now and see if there is anything interesting to watch on the box in bed later.

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 16 May 2018 19:48

The fish pie was last night Jane. M usually comes on Thursday, but he's having his hair cut tomorrow so came yesterday!! Yes we had a lovely evening, he comes about 7 and pops on about 10 as he lives about an hour away. It was very popular, he ate the lot, all the rice and salad and took home the rest of the pudding!
We're watching Kate Humble and there's a chap farming worms. It's really interesting and he's so passionate about the environment it makes for thoughtful viewing.

Gillx Report 16 May 2018 21:35

Evening all

Well OH is ill now so that's all three of us full of cold and virus's. I finished my antibiotics this morning and feel much better now, OH thinks they were a bit to strong for me which is why I felt so bad. I had a migraine yesterday for almost 10 hours. I went outside at 2am for 2 hours to get some fresh air which seemed to help and then managed to get 5 hours sleep when I went back to bed. Poor Sandra looked awful this morning so I sorted her out then this afternoon OH started feeling unwell so it looks like the bug has got a hold of all of us. I hope it doesn't last to long. Sandra told me yesterday that she was having problems sleeping with her blocked nose so I said to put some Vic on the soles of her feet as that would help. She thought I was joking but did it anyway and told me this morning it worked and she slept much better last night, she's going to do the same tonight.

I got a text before to let me know my glasses are ready to be picked up but I'll see how we all are tomorrow before I decided weather to go and pick them up. I'm using my old glasses so there's no rush so they can be picked up next week if needs be.

I've not caught up with all the posts but did notice that you managed to sort out your new passports Frank. I bet that's a weight of your mind and now you can look forward to your holiday.

How nice that Nicko has somewhere to live now and that he remembered your kindness with the hot buttered toast Mandy. It probably meant so much to him even if you think it was just something small. Like he said it was something big to him.

I hope you're not getting this bug we've all got Jane and you feel better soon. The film you went to see does sound like it would of been better on TV, pleased you enjoyed it though. Hope it's good news for your MRI.

I know I shouldn't laugh Mel but when you said your OH's trousers fell down I did have a bit of a giggle. Maybe braces are the answer.

How nice to go to a wedding in Austria Liz, that'll be something to look forward to and also having someone to look after Merlin and Cas so you don't need to worry about them.

Just watching "The Secret Life of the Zoo" they do a lot of filming behind the scenes so it's interesting to see parts of the Zoo that you don't see when walking around.

We watched that too Gill. I don't see any use for those mole rats on this planet do you?

I had a little throw out of plants today, well ones that did'nt get through the winter and the snow. Most of them I had'nt labled so some I did'nt know what they were or had been. I really must get out in the garden and do some real work on it soon.

Poor oh Gill now he is under the weather now too. I hope Sandra gets another better nights rest tonight with her vic on her feet. My nan used to do that for me when I was little.

Well I think I am going to watch a bit of telly and then off to bed so see you all in the morning. Night night sleep tight.

Good morning to you all,

I got out for the loo at 5.00 am, and stayed up. I made my tea and read a couple of chapters of my book. I must have dropped off, because Ros was sitting on the Sofa when I woke up at 8.00 am.I made more tea and took my tablets.

I am doing a Lasagne for tonight. I have everything I need except an onion. We never tun out of onions. ;-) ;-) ;-) Well we have now !!!

Nice that Nico remembers your kindness Mandy. little things like that are very important to someone like he was. Glad he in now settled.

Liz, That is somewhere I would love to go. But will have to settle for Spain. I am sure it will be a great experience for Ian and you, considering it's many years since you last visited.

Jane I do hope you start to shake of whatever you have. It seems that you are getting one thing after another. <3 <3 <3

I watched a very interesting programme about the police, and the pressure they are under with STAFF SHORTAGES. Without getting political, I think we should stop all this Foreign Aid, and use the money for the NHS and police. etc.

Gill I do hope you and the family soon get back to good health. It seems like Jane, it's one thing on top of another. GET WELL SOON xxx

Ros had a BIG sort out of plants she has bought, and not been able to plant. They died off in their pots, so now in the green bin. !!!

Shower and shave soon, then I will go shopping with Ros. I need to get an anniversary card. Then I will get my haircut, before my holiday (TWO WEEKS YESTERDAY ) I must remember to pack my HAT. Each year I buy a new one, I have three sitting in the cupboard. I should lev one with Conrad, so it would always be there if and when we go.

I m giving thought to having a party for my 80th. I have two choices of venues, the Casuals Rugby Club in Northampton, where Martines Brian is the President or the Local football club in Blisworth. Which will benefit from the sale of the drinks. It will be the case of WHO to invite, as not to offend anyone. I will have words with HER IN DOORS to see what she thinks.

It's a nice sunny morning out there today, wha's it like chilly wise, I don't know.

Morning Frank and all,

We have sunshine today Frank so you can guess where oh is he is cutting a lot of branches off one of the apple trees that hangs over the box hedge as he can't get the ladders close enough to cut the hedge.. It was cloudy all day yesterday but my washing dried ok on the covered line outside the back door as there was a gentle breeze and the rain we had just seemed to fall straight down.

Specsavers rang this morning asking me if I wanted tokeep the lenses I have as they are £141 dearer than the clear lenses. I said no I wanted the clear ones for these glasses so she is going to ring me when they get them in. Afterall it was their mistake so why should'nt I have what I ordered at no extra cost.

Well I think I will change the bedding this morning as it should dry if the weather stays like this.

See you later.

Morning all

Bright and sunny here today. Had a good nights sleep and so did OH and Sandra. I'm feeling much better so think I'm coming to the end of the bug we've all got. Sandra and OH are just starting with it so don't feel very well at all. OH is putting the last coat of paint on our six foot fence down the side of the bungalow even though I've said it could wait. Hopefully if he starts feeling worse he'll leave it and come in, although knowing him he'll carry on till it's finished, then regret it later. I tried ringing the builder 5 times this morning to let him know I had to nip out to pick up my glasses but he wouldn't answer his phone, so off I went to the opticians and my phone went a few minutes later, it was him. Thankfully he wasn't going to come today so he didn't have a wasted journey, he said he'll turn up tomorrow morning. I'll believe it when I see it though. My glasses are much better now they've changed them, the lady offered my old lenses to me incase I needed them in the future for reading but I had to decline as I couldn't even read through them, so she's going to throw them away.

It sounds like you've had fun with your glasses too Mel. Hope they are all sorted for you know. Your OH is very busy lately, lets hope the weather stays nice so he can finished the apple tree and hedge. It sounds quite a big job. I've been moving a few pot plants around as some of the bluebells are starting to go over now and I noticed my poppies are starting to come into flower. That's the fun of a pot garden I can change my borders to suit the time of year.

How nice to have a birthday party for your 80th Frank, that'll be something to look forward to.

Just catching up with our programmes off the planner. With being so ill I haven't felt like watching TV so the planner is almost full and I want to clear it a bit ready for the Chelsea flower show which starts soon. I'm going to watch the Royal Wedding on Saturday, I do like a good wedding. I wonder who is going to give Meghan away with her dad not making it now?

Jane

Jane Report 17 May 2018 13:39

Afternoon Everyone
It seems the month for new specs. Chris has his appointment on Monday and has said he knows he needs new ones but he doesnt want reactalite lenses again. At least you Gill and Mel are all good now with yours.
I hope the bug that OH and Sandra have doesnt hang around too long. At least you are now feeling so much better :-D

Big Birthday Bash for you in December then Frank :-D :-D. Maybe the Blisworth venue would be the best choice. Yes dont forget to pack one of your hats for your hols.

I feel so different today. I was in agony after my MRI yesterday and could hardly walk. I think lying in one position for so long didnt help and as Chris said I was probbably all tensed up. Also the main meal I had I think made me feel a bit 'off'. Maybe the gluten in the Pasta and sauce.I don't really know .It was delicious but I will steer clear of that next time.

Oh a wedding in Austria Liz. That will be nice :-D. I have been once when I was at school aged 14 on a ski trip. It was the year of Asian Flu and so many pupils and a couple of the teachers went down with it and were too ill to travel home. One lad broke his leg ,and there were avalanches so we could not get out of the little town while we were there. What a holiday !!!.

I have been to Morrissons and got a large wooden box of Asparagus :-D. We eat so much of it, I thought it was well worth getting. I got some meat from the Butchers Counter too. I am becoming a huge fan of Morrissons meat :-D

I see that it is definite now that Meghans Dad will not be at the Wedding to give her away. It would be nice now if it is her Mum that has the honour. I just hope that all this hooha can be put aside and that Meghan and Harry can just enjoy looking forward to their big day on Saturday. I am really looking forward to seeing the wedding and enjoying a day of happiness :-D.. I will no doubt have a pile of tissues at hand LOL

Lovely day here with a fair breeze. At least it is not like the wind we had yesterday. That was bad. Chris has done the big pots in the front and put Geraniums and Trailing Lobelias. That is usually my job but he said he would do it for me this time as he didnt want me to end up like I did yesterday !

Washing ready to hang out. That won't take long to dry :-D
