Don't think we shall be watching the wedding! I can't believe it's been SUCH a fiasco! I just feel really so sorry for the Queen and the P of W for being put through all this embarrassment, much to the delight of the world's tacky media! I just can't understand why Prince Harry (not my favourite royal!) wasn't more sensitive to the feelings of his grandmother and his father, never mind other (younger) members of the RF who have been left out. If they wanted to do things their own way, bearing in mind who they are, it might have been better to have a low key affair which would have caused less hurt on all fronts. Just my opinion though!
Beautiful day here. OH has been busy I've been lazy!

won't be neat a Television Set until 5.30 pm when it's the CUP FINAL. I am at the hospital at 10.45 am. I should be home by Mid day.

There is a memorial day at the Football Club for a young man who died playing football 10 years ago. from Cardiac arrest. His brother, for some reason, turned to me as a father Figure. He has always mentioned it whenever I see him. I will go up there to pay my respect and have a pint in his memory. There is going to be a football match with all the OLDER players taking part. So should be a good laugh, if nothing else.

It's also Michael's B'Day, (barman at the pub). He wants me to have a pint with him sometime on Saturday. I will walk down there from the club, and possible watch the Cup Final down there. Then ring Ros when I am ready for home.

There is a STREET PARTY Saturday evening, just round the corner from us. All we need to do is take a plate full of food, drinks, and fold up chairs. I would think I will be up for that, by the end of the day. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Simon rang this morning wanting to know what we want for our anniversary, so he can bring it tomorrow, when we meet up for the meal. The week after he will b on his boat, and won't see us before we go away on the 30th.

Lasagne all ready for the oven, together with Garlic bread. Ros will do a salad also. So a nice healthy meal tonight.

Madam is at Choir practice at 7.00 pm. I have recorded her SOAPS for when I go to bed, so I have MY CHOICE of T.V. :-D :-D :-D

It's been a lovely day here, sunshine and now, a very light breeze. If it stays fine in the morning I might get the lawns cut.

Enjoy what ever you are doing this evening. xxx

Liz I do agree what a bit of a fiasco it is what with Meghans family. Now this is where we differ :-D. It is their wedding and they have chosen who they want to be there . They are not being told who has to be invited . I am sure the Queen and Prince Philip are curling their toes right now with all that has been going on in the news .There will be members of the family who won't be happy at being invited but that will be the same in many families .I actually think Harry is a lovely young man now . I often thought he and Hannah would have made a good match LOLOL . But couldn't really see Hannah being part of the Royal family :-D :-D She would be far too outspoken :-S

I just hope everything goes off well for the couple on the day and that they have the most memorable day.

Chris says he wont be watching, but I bet he keeps popping in ,just to have a look
:-D
I have to say though I am getting a bit cheesed off with all the different programmes about the Wedding, past weddings, what they might have to eat, etc etc etc. . I could do with a bit of breathing space before the actual day :-D :-D

Well, for me to have a public wedding and not to adhere to royal protocol is just plain bad manners and selfish, particularly as there is plenty of room for everyone and money no object, which is usually the reason for trimming the wedding list!! As they will undoubtedly have to come into contact with these cousins etc, (Two funerals in the not too distant future come to mind), it might have been better to at least have met them. By all means do what Princess Anne did the second time round and do your own thing if you feel that way inclined, , but to have a big public jamboree and snub family members you've grown up with and appearing not to take into account the feelings of your grandparents/parents to the point where they just have to grin and bear it is for me, just rude and disrespectful. Surely much better to strike a happy medium for everyone to enjoy.

I just wish the couple all the best on their Wedding Day. We all have our different views don't we,which is good .We can't ,and don't have all the same opinions. It would be boring if we all thought the same.It is always good to have a good hearted debate.
Maybe a new though thread LOLOL

Evening all,

Been quite a nice day here with lots of sunshine and not so windy .

Well what ever the bug is Gill it's gone through the house ,i hope you all soon feel much better .

We took Max to the vets for his yearly injection and kennel cough ,we got his Wormer tablets and also tablets now for fleas and ticks instead of the liquid to go on the back of his neck so that will be easier to give him ,he hated the liquid on his neck .
He goes trotting into the vets tail wagging as he knows he will get a fuss from the ladies at reception LOL

I hope Meghan and Harry have a lovely wedding, the weather is looking good for the day ,i will have a look as i like to see all the outfits ,i havent read all about the wedding so have no idea who has been invited and who hasn't .

Well there's a thought Jane!!! GN have some pretty feisty threads _ you'd be more than welcome to join in!!! I wish the them well as I would any couple starting out on married life. Being a member of the RF won't be that easy!!!
Just watched Michael Portillo in Azerbaijan. The country looked absolutely beautiful - somewhere new for you to go Jane !!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 17 May 2018 21:00

Ooh! I stay away from feisty threads Liz :-D. But if I was young again and enjoying travelling (as I did) Azerbaijan might just be a place I would fancy :-)I just wish I was in my 20's again and I would be off :-D :-D

Mandy I hope Max gets on with the tablets now rather than the drops on his neck. I think its much easier to get a pill down a dog's throat rather than a cats. Have to do the worm treatment in the next few days on Thomas's neck :-S

I saw another Dog Grooming Van today. The Ad on the side of the van was
Wet,Wiggle and Walkies :-D :-D

I will be off to bed shortly . See you all tomorrow :-D

Bunnyboo Report 17 May 2018 21:13

Cats can be dreadful! We used to wrap our pussies in a towel and w even then it was a struggle! I once had a pill popper especially for cats!! It didn't work!!
I know how you feel Jane. OH and I often talk about our sailing days. Most weekends in the summer we used to go down to Gosport and sail mostly to the Isle of Wight. We had such fun particularly holidays in France, and met so many interesting people. One year we sailed up the west coast of Scotland, that was a real adventure!! Happy days!!

Gillx Report 17 May 2018 21:58

It sounds like it's going to be easier to do the flea treatment for Max with the tablets instead of the liquid now Mandy and if he prefers it that way it'll be less stressful for him. I remember having to wrap our cats up in towels to give them any tablets and it took two of us to do it. It was quite funny sometimes as we had to get hold of them first and they had more legs than us so could run quicker LOL.

I love the name on the dog grooming van Jane, you certainly wouldn't forget that name would you?

I haven't been watching much TV lately so don't know who is or isn't going to the wedding, I just want to see her dress.

I hav'nt looked at anything to do with the wedding either so don't know what you two are talking about. I may have a little look but I am not that bothered.

Cleaned all the bedroom today and cooked oh a chilli for dinner and I had egg and beans on toast.

I have three chickens getting out now and one is the old one I have left from the last lot. I have clipped both Houdini's wings and she still gets out. I just wish I had enough time during the day to sit and watch where they get out cos I can't see. I have made the fence higher again tonight. Not sure if they get on the shelter roof and then over the fence. I may have to put my wildlife camera out there. That should tell me.

Morning all,

We have another nice morning here at the moment. Its brightish but there are grey skies and I am hoping its going to clear a little more.

So how did everyone sleep last night? I hope you all slept well.

I have to go and pick up our scripts this morning as I should have gone yesterday and oh is out of one kind.

Frank Report 18 May 2018 10:03

Morning Mel and All,

No Mel, sleep seems to be evading me lately. I was in bed about 10.30. Loomed at the clock at 1.00/3.00 /5.00. Went to the loo, and tried again. No luck so got up at 7.00.

Roa, had that Lorainne Kelly on this morning, and they were showing WHAT THEY THOUGHT THE ROYALS WOULD BE WEARING TOMORROW/ As if anyone WOULD KNOW. ??? It seems that when ever you turn on the Television, it all about the Blooming Wedding, and it's costing US £30,000,000. 00. An absolute disgrace, with theNHS in the state it is. !!!! That's the last I have to say about it. !!!!

Nice morning here too Mel, Lots of SUNSHINE and BLUE sky's. Hardly any breeze to speak of. So should be a nice stroll to the Nurse for 11.00 am.

I made a nice Lasagne last night. Far too much for us two. So I rang Tony next door. They will have it for lunch, better than throwing it away, and there is Garlic bread also.

I have started sorting shorts and T shirts out for my holiday. I just hope I am not tempting fate. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Good that Max has tablets now Mandy. I remember Ros's Dad's cat, we tried to get tablets down his throat. Wrapped him in a towel, which he fought out of, and ran up the wallpaper and sat on the pelmet. I don't think he ever had the tablet. lol lol

Princess Hannah, has a certain ring to it Jane. Would that had made you LADY JANE of KETTERING ???

I had better see about getting showered and dressed. When I get back, I hope to get into my shorts and do the lawns. Then tonight, get showered again, before going to the Chinese with Simon. Sally, Harvey, Julia, and our dear Lewis. Who we haven't seen for ages. But I expect that's how almost 20 year olds are like. <3 <3

Enjoy the sunshine today folks.

Would you believe it. I was at the Passport office 12.30 pm Wednesday 10.15 am this the passports dropped through the letter box. I found them when I went to answer the door bell. WHAT SERVICE IS THAT. !!!!

Bunnyboo Report 18 May 2018 11:03

I think they are Frank, which is a bit of a shame. You can count the times P has driven out to see us on her own on the fingers of one hand! but she's 18 and a busy girl! which I suppose is how it should be! Ed tells me that when he can drive he'll come once a week!!! .He's not quite 11, I guess he'll have second thoughts at 18!!!
I do agreed with you over all that money on security!!, it does grate !!! Perhaps the upsurge in tourists will plug the gap a bit !! At least they're paying for their wedding which is something!! You see now why we don't watch morning TV!!!!!
Sorry you don't sleep that well, it makes you feel so washed out the next day particularly when it's a frequent occurrence.
Really warm here this morning. OH is watering, and I'm contemplating cleaning the bathroom!

That's excellent news about your passport Frank. That's that worry out of the way. Please don't forget where you put it !!!
I see Prince Charles is giving away the bride!!(brilliant) I think it was probably a bit of a tall order to expect her mother to do it when the poor lady has only been here for so short a time. Talk about the deep end!! I might join Chris, Jane, and pop in for a minute or two!!! Ian probably will too, although he says he won't! It'll be to see the horses you understand!!!! ;-)

Frank Report 18 May 2018 12:33

Back from the nurse. Had to sit in the waiting room for AN HOUR before being called. Poor girl looks rushed off her feet. I think part of the delay was a chap who must have weighted over 25 stone went in before me, with what looked like ulcerated legs. When he came out ,there were new dressing on his legs as far as the bottom of his shorts leg. I assume to strip the old dressing, treat the legs, and redress took a very long time.

I am just going to have a coffee, then I will tackle one of the lawns. MAYBE both.
Will see how I feel after one.

Roa spoke with Conrad. He has told her we are not to bring any toiletries as he has stocked up with everything we might need including Razors and shaving cream. So that's going to give us a bit more room, and save us having to show everything in the plastic bag. And the great thing is no restrictions on size of bottles etc.
