I must have missed your posting Liz, Happy Birthday to your daughter.
I was Sitting in the garden reading when Tony called over the fence to say Valerie was on her way round with "BIGGLES" Ann had bought him round, but I hadn't heard her, and with Ros's car not in the drive, thought we were out. We have got th dog until the morning of the 30th who we go away. I had forgotten all about him coming.
Ros bought back a Salad from Tesco, most of which went in the bin, it was full of nuts. Certainly not to my liking. What bit I did eat is now repeating on me.
The sun has gone in now, and a breeze is starting to get up. So I think that's put paid to me sitting outside.
It looks like Ros's trip to the dentist is going to be expensive, she has to have a tooth put back on the crown, another one removed and some fillings.
I think my brain is going to sleep on me. I came in from the garden with my reading glass's in my hand, put them down and spent TWENTY MINUTES trying to find them. Of all the places to turn up, on the pillows in the bedroom. I don't remember going in there. lol lol.

Don't worry too much Frank I do that all the time. With my old glasses there was'nt much of them so if I put those somewhere silly it took me ages to find them. Today I walked into the hall and forgot what I had gone in there for!
Hope Ros gets on ok at the dentists and will she have this done before you go away?
Gill my car is in for its MOT. Hav'nt heard anything yet...........
I have been in the garden digging out ground elder. I am not giving its name capitals as it dos'nt deserve them. Bl**dy weed.............
I am going to the next page now as there are more posts on there.

It's been raining like mad here, thundery with hail!! It's passed now and the sun's back out! Saves watering!! Sorry to hear about the Dentist Frank! It can get very expensive particularly where crowns, are involved!! I wear my specs round my neck! It's the only way I can keep tabs on them and I seem to need them more and more! OH has spent all afternoon doing logs for the winter! We now have the log shed over half full which is good. Next job is rotovating the veg cage in preparation for the greens. The garlic we're growing is doing well as are the onions, and our clematis is an absolute picture. The greenhouse is sprouting well with toms etc. OH is just taking Cas for her evening run in the paddock while I do supper! It's all go here!!!

Evening all,
It's been a really beautiful day ,nice and warm with a little breeze .

Hope the wedding shopping has gone well and Hannah has decided on a dress ,i went with DIL when she tried her dresses on ,it was very emotional seeing her in the dresses and very special to be there with her mum .
Hope the car passes it's MOT Mel you don't want any more expense you've spent a lot on it this year already .

Quick post from me tonight .. We have the dress . She tried half a dozen dresses on but this was the one as soon I as I saw her in it . When the lady put a veil on it just got me having a few tears. The dress needs a few slight alterations but nothing major . The dress is here ! . It has to go back for the alerttons 10 weeks before the wedding . We had a lovely lunch at The George Hotel in the Courtyard Garden . Luckily enough to get the last free table . Hannah's friend Hannah came with us ,and I was so happy that she agreed with me that the right dress was chosen
I am sorry ( have not read any posts from today).I am just ready to drop into bed

I hav'nt heard from the garage yet to know if my car is done or not so will I be able to go shopping today and take my glasses back again or not?
I am so pleased Hannah has her dress and I m sure she has the right one if you all agree. I don't blame you having a few tears Jane I think I would too if I were you too.

My car is done and he is coming to pick me up soon so I can take him back and pay him. He did'nt say anything needed doing so I must now book it in for a new Cam belt which will be another £300 odd pounds. If it dd'nt pass I was'nt going to bother but as it has I will. She's been a good old girl to me since I have had her, my little stagecoach as I call her.

Good Morning to you all,
Just back from the Nurse ANOTHER EMPTY ARM Poor girl, didn't know what bloods to take, as the hospital hasn't put what they want ,on my notes ,on line. She wasn't able to do my blood pressure as she only takes bloods.
So the dress is all sorted then Jane, I bet she is pleased that's over and done with. Was lunch in the GEORGE at Stamford. ??? I always enjoyed going there years ago.
How old is your car Mel, I remember you saying it was a Rover but nothing else.
Ros had a phone call this morning, from the hospital. She has to go in on the 15th of June for her bladder operation. She expects to be in for a couple of days. Then it's six weeks of no driving, lifting, housework, washing and ironing, gardening. Just complete REST. OR the operation could split open and be back to square one. So it looks like all shopping will be done on line, and I will be doing every thing around the bungalow. No doubt Martine will be fussing around like an old Mother HEN. Bless her.
Jan has just phoned to tell us she has done the boarding pass's for her and us, as she has managed to get a seat on our plane. She has also done our Boarding pass's for our return on the 12th June. So now it's just waiting for the 30th to come round.
It's Alexanders 3rd Birthday on Friday. Sunday, we are meeting Kerry and Mark, Jo and Ella and Jan at Kettering for a get together at FRANKIE'S AND BENNIES. Never been there, so have no idea what to expect. American FAST FOOD by the sound of the name. I have never had a BURGER for Sunday lunch. But there's a first time for everything
It's a lot cooler out this morning, I went out in shorts and T shirt, and it felt chilly round the knees.
Pork Steaks for dinner tonight. Apart from the sandwich at lunchtime yesterday, I haven't eaten. so must get something to eat, even though I don't feel hungry.

Well Frank, if you look after your patient as well as OH cared for me after my hip op, then you will gain SEVERAL gold stars!! He was really brilliant, as I wasn't able to do anything at all for two weeks and then only very minor tasks for three months. Even now I still rely on his help for odd things that I still find a bit difficult. OH did manage the shopping, but obviously you can't so being able to shop on line will be a great help. Lovely day here, so I've cleaned out Cas's crate, given the dishwasher and washing machine a 'birthday', and OH has hung the curtains. M rang this morning, just checking us out as he puts it!!

Afternoon Liz and all,
I have nursed My Dad, Ros's Mum and Dad through CANCER until their deaths, so nursing Ros for a few weeks will be a real pleasure, knowing she will get better ar the end of it. Mind you, I had always been a help around the house, and will continue to do so. Even at times, it's not up to her standard. lol lol
At the moment we have "BIGGLES" and on Friday we will have the addition of JJ. Jo is bringing him to us on her way to Kerry's, as she won't have dogs in her house. I hope the pair will get on together, otherwise I will have to keep them apart, which in a small bungalow won't be easy. FINGERS CROSSED. !!! I will get Tracy or Tony to let them out Sunday while we are out. We won't be out too long, so shouldn't be a problem.
My Nephew has just advised me that it is his 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 8th Sept, and is having a party at his house in Harlow, Essex. Whether Ros will want to drive that far and back in a evening I really don't know. We will see.
My Niece who lives in the BOARDERS has also told me her Daughter Sarah is or has had a BABY, it was due yesterday, but as yet not arrived. I will give her a call tonight to se if there is any news.
My darling Ros has been slogging away in the garden today, planting plants in the boarders. I will go out this evening and water them in, and do the general watering.
I have today been on the Blisworth Community page asking for a gardener two house every couple of weeks to help her and me with the jobs. Now to wait and see what develops.

Afternoon Everyone
Frank, I am really pleased that Ros finally has a date for her op. What excellent timing is that !. She can enjoy the holiday and hopefully relax a bit before the operation just after you get home. I know you will have friends to help out after she comes out ,but if you ever are stuck for anything please give me a call.I'm not a million miles away
I am surprised the blood nurse couldnt do your BP. Maybe they are just allowed to do the bloods.
Yes it was the George Stamford where we had lunch yesterday. It was wonderful even if a bit pricey. But boy it was worth it The food ,the service, the setting just everything. There were quite a few Americans staying there I think. At least I heard the accent quite a lot . The wedding shop was just a couple of minutes walk just across the bridge from the George.
It is quite breezy and all the dead Lilac is covering the patio ,which is not good as it keeps getting traipsed in the house. I think Thomas might be the biggest culprit as it gets stuck in his fur !!
Meat loaf tonight. I thought I had a decent Garlic Bulb when I was making it but ours had gone off so I popped down to Fitz as I know they use loads of it and guessed there would be a spare one . He was at the top of a ladder when I got there pruning the Jasmine on the wall of the house!. It gave me the heebie jeebies seeing him up there.I told him not to come down but just tell me where the garlic was So meatloaf made and ready for the oven now In fact I think I had better get it in .I didnt realise the time.

You sound very positive Frank which is brilliant! Ian also helps quite a bit round the house, particularly with cooking, and always has, sometimes not quite to my standards either!! especially hanging washing!!!, BUT, I do try not to kick a gift horse!!! We've spent the afternoon doing various garden jobs and fixing Merlins water trough for the summer. We've got honeyed ham for supper, done to a T in the crock pot New potatoes and salad. Nice and easy!!

Jane, our lilac is only just coming out!! perhaps yours is an earlier type to ours or it's just more sheltered where you are! It's going to be gorgeous though and the smell is to die for!! Garlic does go off very quickly particularly in warm weather! We get through masses of it but I still seem to chuck it away!!

What good news on the hospital appointment for Ros to have her op Frank and just after your holiday too. Hope everything goes off ok for her and we all know you will look after her really well afterwards.
Did'nt get out till lateish for me. Could'nt park in the little cr park outside the shops along the front sohad to park over the road by the river.
Took my glasses in and waited for Lily the girl who had everything sorted for me but she was ages so the girl at the desk sorted it all for me and they said they will ring me when they are ready to collect. Did the shopping and driving home I had just past the police station when there was an awful crash and I thought something had fallen off the car. I had to drive up to the little roundabout towards Landcross and park in the driveway to the new flats there. Got out and my thoughts were correct..... I had shed the front wheeltrim on the drivers side. So the I had to back into the flats and get out to go back the other way across the roundabout again and there was plenty of parking spaces opposit the Police station so I popped in there and I could see the wheeltrim sitting under a bench looking over the river (the bench not the wheeltrim). I went and picked it up from under the bench and came back to my car and put it back on and gave it a good kick all round. There was a chap in a van in front of me who had parked the same time as I had. When I looked down at my hands I was covered in black of the dust from the brakes picking it up. I had to use the hand sanitiser on them and wipe them on some kitchen towel I keep in the car for the windscreen. Then back out into the traffic and the chap in front of me went just before me and gave me a big smile. So back up to the little roundabout thingy at the end of Bideford bridge nd go all the way around to get back on track for home. Talk about tired when I got in.
So we had dinner and I fed the hogs and shut the chickens in and took ages getting on here again. So that was my day and its been the hottest day we have had so far this year I think. Anyway I am now going to watch a bit of BBC 4 on catch up about the Vikings so see you all in the morning and hoep you all sleep well tonight.

Good morning to you all,
Chilly breeze this morning, when I came out to let "BIGGLES" out the radiators were on. So it must have turned cold this morning.
Poor Val Barker, she has been asked to water Ann's garden while they are away. Since they went someone has been a fitted a NEW BOILER. they have left the old one outside the garage, which is Val's only way into the back garden. She can't move it, I have suggested putting a rope round it and tow it away from the doors.
You were lucky to get your wheel trim back Mel, often they fly off into the hedgerow. You sometimes see them hooked on a fence, where someone has found it.
I have put a call into the doctor's for one of them to ring me. Every month Ros does the SCRIPS, for the month. They never give me enough PAIN KILLERS, so she has to put another order in in the middle of the month. Which to me sounds silly, or is it that they can only prescribe so many at one time. ??? I will find out today. !!!!
I was awake with the larks this morning 5.00 am. It's strange, as I have been sleeping better lately.
Nothing planed here today, apart from Ros going to the Drs with another order for my tablets.
We are expecting Tony's gardener today (SOMETIME) he is so unreliable, this is why I want to find someone local, and reliable.

Morning Frank and All,
We have a clear blue sky this morning and plenty of sunshine. Oh is mowing the back field and keeping an eye on the chickens to see where they are getting out. He is armed we cable ties to put on the bottom of the poles which hold the wire up.
He finished off the box hedge wispy bits while I was out yesterday just using the ladder and told me its the best he can do and I will have to get myself a younger man if I want it done any better as this old man could'nt do anymore. Bless him. Its a lot lot better than it was and he has cut 2' and more off the top. No easy task when you weigh 20 stone.
Must get some washing in as I did'nt get up till 10.30am today.

It's warmed up here also Mel, Tos is clearing the weeds from between the slabs on the patio, I have pulled the table right out so she can get under it.
I had a letter from the hospital this morning for an appointment at 9.00 am 26th June. I rang and told them about Ros's operation, and it would be difficult for me to get there that early. They have put it back until 11.45 am, so will see who will be able to take me and wait until I am ready to come home. You certainly miss not having a driver. !!!
The gardener is next door, and coming round to cut down the Eucalyptus tree later, and dig out a load of grass's that have seeded and taken over a flower bed by the shed. They were bought to go round the pond, but have flowered and the seeds blown everywhere.
Shin of beef in the casserole for tonight, Mash, broad beans for madam, runners, carrots and spring cabbage,
I've started taking this CANNABIS OIL 4 drops twice a day. Can't see any improvement in my arthritis yet, after three days, At £35.00 for a small bottle, if it doesn't work, I won't be buying anymore. lol lol
Back to my book, Biggles is out for his long walk with Sarah. He will come back tiered out. bless him. He is such a lovely dog to have around. NO JANE I won't be getting one

Well Barry the gardener is here. The tree is down and the truck and main branches are in small pieces that he can get into his estate car. All the foliage is in the Green Bin ready for Tuesday. He has dug out all the old plants that have grown around the tree. Ros will now replant with more. !!!! He is a very clean worker and has raked up all the leaves from the lawn. He has only charged us £30.00 so I am well pleased all round. I was some assistants to him by pulling on the rope to guide the branches down through other bushes, so none have been damaged.
I have been sat outside reading, but have come in for a break from the sunshine. When was the last time I did that ?? NEVER. lol lol
Biggles is crashed out under my legs, fast asleep. !!!
Ros is still beavering away planting up pots. I will go out and water later in the evening.
Oven is smelling lovely, getting the taste buds going. !!!
