An absolutely beautiful day here, so we were up and about by 7am !!! Had breakfast outside and am now just about to hang washing as I've changed our winter's duvet for the summer one. ( that'll change the weather!!) After OH has done his jobs, (dog walking putting out Merlin etc) he is going to get the heavy long curtains down so that I can wash them. They won't go in the machine as they're too big and heavy, so I'll have to fill Cas's bath and do them that way-what a performance! At least it's only once a year!! A busy day is a happy one!!! Oh dear Frank. It does sound rather extraordinary that your specialist made such an abrupt diagnosis! certainly not user friendly!! It may well be that your results will not be with your GP by tomorrow, but I think a chat with him/her anyway would be a very good idea. If it were me I would be letting my GP know that a diagnosis of this sort is not appreciated in a casual conversational way, and that it has both upset and greatly worried you!! Obviously that's up to you though. Oh here's OH, better get on with those curtains!!

Good Morning Liz and Mel, and to everyone else.
After Ros went out last night, I didn't see anything that I wanted to watch on T.V. so went in the kitchen and prepared everything for lunch today. I asked Val. if she would like to join us, and she accepted.
I have a nice joint of Beef, Jersey Royals, Cauliflower, broccoli, brussels with chestnuts, carrots and peas. Yorkshire puddings (I will make small ones) and the good old CHEESE SAUCE.
Ros is popping to Tesco's to get a sweet for afters. I expect it will be Strawberry's and Cream. I quite fancy a Lemon Meringue Pie so will tell her to get one.
I am doing the lawns this morning, as I didn't get to do them Frday. Instead I potted on a load of seedlings that came in the post Friday. After lunch we will be able to sit outside in the sunshine.
Anne I hope you haven't any after effects from your fall, you must be more careful (HARK AT ME) :-( :-( :-(
For the first time I can remember,I didn't watch the CUP FINAL But was pleased with the result.
I trust everyone will be enjoying this lovely spell of weather. How lovely to have breakfast outside this morning Liz.
Well, I am off to do my jobs, see you later.

Good morning everyone
Frank that was so bad of the specialist you saw telling you he thought you may have cancer in your eye .Do try not to worry I know its easier said then done. I had the same thing when Richard was just 3 years old I went in thinking he has a squint only to be told bluntly "do you realise this child has a lethal tumour" I was on my own as Peter had the other two with him, I have never forgotten that moment. Still the worse day of my life.
You have been a busy boy this morning. I managed to sleep last night because the fall only effected my left side it's still painful this morning but I am taking pain killers
Still a lovely day Richard is now mowing the front grass and is going to do some weeding as well,.
I hope Sandra is getting better Gill and managing to keep the medicine down.

SNAP ANNE :-D :-D :-D I pulled the mower round to the front lawn, and have to lift it over the flower boarder. I put the mower down on the lawn, and continued down myself. As I stumbled, I trod on one of the little lights that come on after dark. This one won't be doing that anymore. lol. I naturally jared my neck and shoulder as I hit the lawn on my right side. That was before I even mowed the lawn. ;-) ;-) ;-) Anyway, no real harm done. I didn't trim the lawn edges this week as I thought they looked alright. I have cut the back lawn also, with stops for rest and cold drinks.
Fortuneatly Ros was out when this happened, but she knew by my looks that something had happened while she was out. !!!! YOU WOMEN. We can't do anything without you knowing :-| :-| :-|
Well it's an absolute blinder of a day out there. I am going to get my Sun Lounger out now, and have a read of my book.
Ros has bought merengue cases with Raspberries and thick cream. They are filled now and in the fridge. My Lemon Merengue pie is frozen, and sits on the table in the conservatory thawing out. She also treated me to a pack of four Gin and Tonic's which are also keeping cool in the fridge. We have plenty of ice and lemons, so I am set up. !!!! A nice bottle of wine is also cooling for dinner. Just Valerie and I drink, so more for us. Ros will have her flavoured water.

Afternoon Everyone on this lovely sunny day.
Frank, try not to worry yourself too much about your eye. I actually think it was shocking the way he said what 'it might' be. I am afraid that some of these so called Professionals in Medicine just have no idea as to the way they deliver what might be not good news. I am sure you will be fine. There is a way of being blunt but compassionate too.
How lovely to have breakfast outside this morning Liz. We dont actually have Breakfast as such.I just have a Banana in bed with my cuppa :-)
Anne your fall yesterday sounded so painful!.. How are you today? I imagine pretty sore if it was your ribs that took the battering.
Are Sandra and OH getting better now Gill? I do hope they are.
I got my wedding dress out this morning . The first time out of the box in 37 years. I could not believe how small the waist was !!!!!! Was I ever that slim????? It will be going off to a Charity shop I think as it has lots of little brown spots and it will never be worn again. Someone will be able to take it apart and use bits for craft work or something. I was parading around with my veil and headress on :-D Chris took a pic and thought I was just crazy lol It looks nothing like Meghans :-D :-D. My Garter was in the box too but I dont think it would fit around my thigh now :-S I am going to take a bit from my dress ,maybe a bit of lace and give it to Hannah so she might be able to just tack it in to the the inside of her wedding dress.(that will be the something OLD. The wedding invitations have gone out today.By email through a site called Paperless. I think it is a good idea ,and H&G designed it .Its very pretty. Apparently this is the modern way :-D
This morning in Tesco the lady in front of me at the till had a LOAD of shopping that she had to get home on her bicycle . She had a rucksack and some other bags but I heard her say she wasnt sure she was going be able to cycle with all that. When I saw how much she had I offered to take some for her and take it to her house . She was so grateful,She said I looked familiar and I thought the same about her. Turns out my James and her James went to Nursery School together and once it clicked who she was I remembere I had found a photo just the other day of her son aged 3 at my James birthday party!!!. So as you can imagine we had a right old chat . I got to her house with all her shopping and she asked me in for a cold drink, but I had to get home to get a meal in the slow cooker. Also I didnt really want to get too involved with her as she talks the hind leg off a Donkey(I remembered that from all those years ago) so she hasnt changed LOL . She did ask me for my phone number but then said maybe I was too busy to meet up.I said that I did live a busy life (liar) I did feel a bit bad but there was no way I wanted her to have my number. I had just done my good deed for the day and got my Brownie points :-D She would never have managed to cycle home with all that weight of shopping.I struggled just lifting her rucksack into my boot,I had that plus 3 other bags!!!.
Chris is picking Hannah up at 5 from the station .So it will be all wedding dress talk this evening . She has bought one (but can return it) and has had one sent here (again can return it) I think she is bringing the first one with her today. I love the front ,It is very plain though and not sure about the back. But maybe tomorrow when we go to the Bridal Shop in Stamford there might just be the one . I neeed to keep my views in check though as it will be her decision in the end. I am going to see if she will try my dress on just for a laugh. It is a size 12 so will fit her.She will probably say it smells too musty :-S. It had hoops in the skirt bit originally but I dont know what happened to them. I have just seen the dust on the TV stand thing!!!!. Its bad :-S. So off to do a bit of dusting now.

I would echo what Jane has said Frank. It could well be something easily corrected and to suggest anything at all without proper consultation is frankly disgraceful. When OH had his prostate cancer diagnosis we were treated with the utmost sensitivity and even then it wasn't a bunch of laughs!! L wore my wedding dress at her first marriage! We used to get it out when she was a little girl and she loved it and always said that she would one day wear it! Well luckily she is quite a bit shorter than me so time come we had it altered, high neck to scoop, long sleeves to three quarter, that sort of thing, and like you Jane, I was a LOT thinner then! She looked an absolute treat, and cost us virtually next to nothing. It's now hanging in her wardrobe, in the hopes that one or both of the girls might use it! Lunch is chicken etc!! Hope all the ailments are feeling better.

How lovely Liz it must have been to see L wear your wedding dress. I think I kept mine so long in the same hope . But that definitely wont happen . When I think of the fashion when I married. It was the same year as Princess Diana.1981. The day she married Charles was the day Chris and I moved from Plymouth up to Nailsea (Bristol) We just had a small portable Black and White TV and I sat on a cardboard box to watch the wedding while Chris was busy unpacking :-D. I wasn't going to miss that wedding :-D I think poor Chris is going to be so cheesed off with talk about dresses etc and next weekend too when both H&G will be here. That is when big discussions will be happening. I think men are just happy to turn up on the day :-D :-D
James is just home from Canterbury so will go and have a chat outside with him .

Oh it was Jane. tbh, once L had grown up I thought she'd want her own dress, but no, she was adamant!! Mind you it was altered quite a bit! Luckily she had a friend who was a seamstress and apparently owed her a favour?!!! I too was a 12 when I wore it!!!! L was a 10 so it be taken in and generally titivated! She wore a 19th cent ladies velvet plum coloured riding jacket over it with a hat to match with my veil altered to go with it. She looked stunning, and my parents got their money's worth from that dress which would have pleased them, but sadly neither of them were with us anymore. That lunch was delicious, and I'll never be a 12 again!! 1981!! I was married in 1964!! M was married in 1994, and L in 1995, and again in 1999!!

I gave my wedding dress to the two girls who lived next door to us for dressing up after having the three boys, we married in 1960 and it was ballerina style with lots of petticoats , size 12 which is what I am now.
I was treated with so much kindness when diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer and was reassured that it would be curable. I had a lady surgeon and a specialist nurse that I could contact if I had any worries.
We have just had Chicken and all the usual veg plus ice cream, Cornish pasties for later.
Will be watching Mid Summer Murders at 8 pm shall have to record Antiques and the Jeremy Thorpe story to watch another time

Evening all
We've had a lovely sunny day again today OH has finished the painting for now, so the gate and fence are done along with the front of the bungalow as that looked a bit mucky after the gate was done.
Sandra is starting to feel a bit better but not much, I think in a few days after some more antibiotics she'll start feeling a lot better, she has 10 days worth so it's early days at the moment. OH isn't to bad and I'm almost over it completely now, apart from a runny nose and a bit of a cough. I don't think the pollen count is helping my nose.
I can still get into my wedding dress apart from the elastic around the sleeves is a bit tight. I married in the 80's so short puff sleeves were all the rage. I also had seven layers on the skirt. I felt like a princess :-) :-)
How awful Frank the way you were told about your possible Cancer. Just remember it's only possible at the moment as nothing has been confirmed so please try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done. We're all here for you so you're not alone. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news. Sorry to see you've had another fall, have you thought of putting a small pathway across your border to your lawns so you don't have to step over, it would be safer for you, just a thought.
Sorry to hear you're ribs are still sore Anne, hope they heal soon. At least you have someone to do your garden for you so you can sit and enjoy the lovely weather we're having. That was a nice thing to do giving the two girls next door your wedding dress, I bet they were chuffed with it.
For those who are interested The Chelsea Flower Show has just started on BBC1, there are also programmes on BBC2 as well. I've just realised the time and I've missed the beginning so I'd better go and watch it before I miss it all.

Frank, I hope you've managed to contact your surgery and will be able to talk to your GP at some stage. We're off out for the morning, so better get on!

Good morning to all you elder brides, My two wedding were in Oct 1959 and June 1978 Hence my RUBY anniversary next month. lol.
It was compliments all round for my cooking yesterday. Valerie even had 2nds. She said it was the best meal she has had in ages. There might be enough for a warm up for tonight, with the left overs.
Ros did an overnight wash. I went to put the line up, and thought I would hang out the washing. Ros was in the shower, so knew nothing about it. If she had seen me she would have taken over. She has her way of pegging out the washing.
Simon and Sally were on the phone this morning, checking up on how I was feeling. Harvey and Conrad rang last night also. So I am the centre of attention at the moment.
Ros rang the surgery to get an appointment for me to have a blood test URGENTLY. SORRY no Bloods are taken on Mondays, so i'm booked in for 10.00 am tomorrow. I would have thought a Doctor would have been able to do it, as the nurse isn't in today.
Ros has a dental appointment at 10.45 in Towcerster. one of her teeth has come away from the bridge. SO MORE EXPENSE.
I was a naughty boy yesterday. I opened a bottle of White wine for dinner. Valerie didn't want any so I drank a whole bottle to myself. The girls cleared the table, loaded the D/W and washed up glass's etc, while I sat a read the paper.
I couldn't settle in the evening to watch Mid Summer, so was in bed by 9.15, and had a very good nights sleep.
I think I will sit outside with my book, while Ros is at the dentists. I don't think we have any plans for today. So that's good
Julia mentioned on Friday about Cannibus, that she gets from HOLLAND AND BARETTS. She takes it three times a day, and it's doing wonders for her Arthritis, so Ros will get me some when she's next in town.
Glad everyone is getting over their virus's and Anne from her fall.

Afternoon all
Sunny here and very hot so that's put paid to me making a start on the front garden as it's south facing, far to hot to work in. I'm hoping it cools down a bit over the next few days as the garden is very scruffy at the moment and needs lots doing to it. The paint OH did on the new gate and fence is so bright in the sun, hopefully it'll dull down a bit once it's weathered a bit. At the moment you need sunglasses to look at it lol. He's painted it magnolia the same as the outside of the bungalow so it blends in.
I didn't wake up until almost 11am that's not like me at all so I must of needed the sleep. I've been like this since I was a child, every now and then I'd go to bed early and sleep for over 12 hours, mum used to say it was to recharge my batteries LOL ;-) So I've lost a whole morning, luckily I didn't have anything planned for today. OH went to his physio appointment, he missed his last one as he was seeing his brother before his burial. He apologised for missing his appointment and the physio fella was really good about it and even asked if OH was okay for todays appointment, which he said he was. His back feels much better now so he doesn't need to see the physio for another three weeks. He does need to do some exercises in the meantime though. Sandra is starting to feel better so the antibiotics must of kicked in now, she had four bottles of meds and is now on her second bottle so almost half way through. She's being very good at getting up early to take her first dose of the day as she normally sleep in late, although she does go back to bed for a couple of hours, but so far no complaints from her which is good. She wasn't to keen on the thought of getting up early at first but now is glad she does with starting to feel better.
That's a pity you can't have your bloods done until tomorrow Frank, but at least you got an appointment and didn't have to wait to long. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good results. Your meal went down a treat didn't it? What a lovely compliment from Valerie. Nice of everyone to do the clearing up with you doing all the cooking.
What's wrong with your car Mel? I hope it's nothing to serious and the garage can sort it out for you.
Happy birthday to your daughter Liz hope she has a lovely day <3 That'll be nice to meet up next week, hope the weather is kind to you all.
How exciting choosing a wedding dress Jane, I'm sure Hannah will find the perfect one. It sounds like the woman you bumped into can talk the hind leg off a donkey, that was nice of you to help her though, fancy having that much shopping and only a push bike to take it home. Talking of donkeys OH and I were outside quite late last night and heard a donkey not far away, it was very strange at that time of night (around 11pm)
I think I'll have another look at my family tree today, I didn't do any yesterday. I've had a 91 page word document sent me off a family member with lots of information for my Australian relatives so that'll keep me out of mischief for a while going through it all and adding it to my tree.
Going to get a cuppa first, I've only had one so far today and I'm thirsty.

I must have missed your posting Liz, Happy Birthday to your daughter.
I was Sitting in the garden reading when Tony called over the fence to say Valerie was on her way round with "BIGGLES" Ann had bought him round, but I hadn't heard her, and with Ros's car not in the drive, thought we were out. We have got th dog until the morning of the 30th who we go away. I had forgotten all about him coming.
Ros bought back a Salad from Tesco, most of which went in the bin, it was full of nuts. Certainly not to my liking. What bit I did eat is now repeating on me.
The sun has gone in now, and a breeze is starting to get up. So I think that's put paid to me sitting outside.
It looks like Ros's trip to the dentist is going to be expensive, she has to have a tooth put back on the crown, another one removed and some fillings.
I think my brain is going to sleep on me. :-D :-D :-D I came in from the garden with my reading glass's in my hand, put them down and spent TWENTY MINUTES trying to find them. Of all the places to turn up, on the pillows in the bedroom. I don't remember going in there. lol lol.
