Good morning all,

Yes Liz, My cockney spelling has let me down lol lol. Great news for both you and Ian. now you can look forward to your holiday. I too liked to go to Covent Gardens on the odd Sunday morning when staying with my brother for the weekend.

Nice sunny dry morning here. Doors and windows all open. Bl@@dy fly's are now buzzing around. I have two cans of fly spray on hand, so I can get the horrible things.

I picked and froze FOUR bags of tomato's yesterday. So there is about 15 in the freezer now.

Lawn needs a cut, but with "green thumb" coming tomorrow I CAN'T cut it for 3 days either side of treatment. So that will be a weekend job. Weather permitting.

Nothing planed for today. Roa will need to go to Tesco. for Milk, Bread and odd and ends.

Roast chicken, new pots and veg tonight for dinner. I made Ros a Rice pudding last night, that I notice hasn't been touched, but she does like it cold.

What re you all up to today. I know Mandy will be busy with th children, before they go back to school.

See you later. xxx

Afternoon everyone

Sunny here after a damp start to the day so OH is sorting out the shed while I plant the bulbs in the two planters. The planter OH was making has had to be taken apart, the space for planting wasn't big enough so he'll need to start again and make it a bit bigger next time around.

I've filling out and posted the form for Sandra so that's now out of the way. I had it photocopied and it cost me almost £6 but at least I have a copy of it now should anything happen and it gets lost or misplaced.

So you've frozen your tomatoes now then Frank, they'll come in handy through the winter.

Good luck with your shopping Mel, hope you're not in to much pain when you get home. Keep up with the pain killers it'll help.

Just had lunch now I'm going to put the bulbs in, see you all later.

Just a quickie to let you know my laptop is playing up and keeps crashing so if I'm not on here for a while it's because my laptop has finally given up the ghost and I need a new one. I will have to change my service provider if I need a new laptop as the one I'm with are useless at helping me sort out my password for my router and emails, I've asked them on a few occasions for help and they don't seem bothered, so if I need a new laptop then I won't be able to use it with the provider I'm with at the moment. All this will obviously take time to sort out so I maybe off line for quite some time. Hopefully this won't happen but if it does you all know why I'm not on here.

Back all unpacked and put away and now I feel shattered. Hip still hurts even though I took pain killers. I shall have to go back to the Nurofen and then the paracetamol 2 hours later.

I finished my fiddle yesterday and am quite pleased with it and have taken a pic so will send it to you.

Morning all,

Well there's me thinking I am late on parade and nobody has posted anyway.

We've had sunshine and blue sky this morning and I did'nt get up till nearly 11 o'clock.

Em sent me pictures of the boys in their school uniform this morning as they have gone back to school today. A day earlier than Mandy's grandchildren. I wonder where the schools get their dates from for the terms? They all seem a bit different.

Frank Report 5 Sep 2018 11:54

Good morning Mel and all.

Have just finished stripping the Chicken, all chopped up and cling filmed, in the fridge, ready for a curry tomorrow.

Ros is in a lot of pain this morning from her back. I do wish there was something they could do for her. All we get is they can't operate anymore. so it's just these MORPHIN PATCHES and pain killers. I am seriously considering asking for a 2nd opinion. It would be nice if she could get relief from the pain, once in a while .

Can anyone help please, what are the pods that appear on the Pashion Flower when they stop flowering ?? I assume they are seed pods, but what can you do with them ??

Pleasant sort of morning here. quite a fresh morning with nice sunshine. Roa is just off to the hairdressers, while I will sit and read, I am at the nurse at 2.30 for my injection, so no doubt a sore bum his afternoon. ;-) ;-)

Minted lamb steaks with new pots and veg for tonight. I won't take me long to prepare those.

See you later. xxx

Thanks for the pic Mel, it looks lovely.
Frank I've had a look on Google ref your passion flower query and its pretty helpful. Think you need to read it for yourself though as there is advice about eating (?!!) them or not!!!
Lovely morning here so have been busy in the garden.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 5 Sep 2018 13:04

You cannot eat the pods off of a passion flower they are not the same as the ones you can eat and are just full of seeds. They are pretty though and you can sew the seeds for new plants if you're lucky.

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 5 Sep 2018 13:59

It's all on Google Frank so you can check your particular plant as to what you can and can't do! Using them to sow is one option!!!
Our hedges are being cut today by the local farm. We're lucky as they do them for us for free because OH beats for the local shoot for free. This along with pheasants etc make a good barter!
Swallows are getting ready to go, we shall miss them!

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 5 Sep 2018 16:06

The hedges have been finished and we've got back our lovely view right over the fields, from our kitchen window, also over the road as that's been cut too and on a clear day you can see as far as the Marlborough Downs! We're both happy bunnies!,

Frank

Frank Report 5 Sep 2018 16:34

I would think you are Liz, It must be lovely to have open views over the Countryside. We had that pleasure when we lived at Gayton, now it's just open skys, and other peoples roof tops. lol lol.

You have been busy again Mel. Do women still wear broaches ?? I don't remember seeing Ros with one on for years.

The nurse was very good today, I didn't feel the needle at all, and no sore bum. ;-) ;-)

What a beautiful day it turned out to be. I put a light jacket on to walk to the Drs, and had to take it off, as I was too hot.

Thanks for the info. about the passion flower, I was just curious. I don't remember seeing them other years.

Lawn treatment was carried out this morning, so I will be able to cut them at the weekend.

Ros has a 10p off a litre of petrol at Tesco's. It expires tomorrow, so she's gone to fill up the car, and get some bits we need.

I just fancy a coffee, so off to make one,so enjoy the rest of your day. xxx

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 5 Sep 2018 19:08

Frank I think the yonger girls wear brooches and some of the younger women. I have worn the ones I have made now and then too. I am hoping so anyway or I shall have them all too myself.

Irish stew bubbling away here. I did'nt go to Holsworthy as oh seemed to want me to stay here after shopping yeterday.

The net for my pond came today so we put that on this afternoon so the leaves don't get in it. It has the big beech tree not far fcrom it and if the wind comes from the east they all blow in my pond.

Liz how lovely to have your view back. Now you can see over the fields when your in the kitchen. I don't have any views here with the wall out the front and the trees out the back. The only view I had which I liked was to the east and then the big house planted trees all down the side of his field so now I can't see the mist in the valley anymore. It was like Brigdoon and I loved to watch it disperse to reveal the rest of the valley and fields beyond. You must be happy bunnies now with the bean field to run Cas in and she will enjoy a good run in that.

Evening all,

It's been another nice dry day not so much sun today but not at all cold ,yesterday we had a lovely day out with the grandchildren and son and DIL ,the children really enjoyed the day and did lots of things in the park ,Chelsea and Katie went on this big rope obstacle course ,it was quite high up and when they had been across all the ropes some as high as a house they came sailing down on the zip wire , they all went into the water zone where water squirts up out of the ground ,there's water canons and lots of other bits that water shoots out of ,we all did the woodland walk which was nice ,we took a picnic lunch with us and just bought some drinks in the cafe which they charge an arm and a leg for ,we were so tired last night we were in bed just after nine o'clock ..

Mel that's a lovely brooch you've made i love the rain drops :-D

Liz it must be lovely to see over the fields now the hedges have been cut back .

You'll have to see if you can see the same nurse again if she was gentle giving you the injection Frank .

Going to watch some tele now and then i think it will be another early night for us the last few weeks we have been quite busy with having the grandchildren and one thing and another .

Morning all,

Raining here this morning so whats it like where you are?

Now today I MUST go and get chickens food as I have just about enough for them for this morning and then only the poultry corn. It may even come to that if I can't get enough out of the pellet bin. I also need some wild bird food and peanuts so I can get it all in the one shop, Mole Valley.

I must also get some more mouse traps as I have a mouse coming up in the corner of the little loo. I blocked up one hole where I saw it go but now its coming up the other side. It seems they run along where the central heating pipes go under the floor and with fitted carpets in most room they seem to keep them out but the little loo has so many pipes going into or through it there is quite a hole in the corner.

I just lost my posting, so will start again.

Good morning Mel and all,

We have a nice sunny day again, with very little breeze. So doors and windows all open.

Glad you had a nice day with the children Mandy. When Lewis was young we would take him to those water jet places. He loved them, and would stay in there until he came out shivering with the cold. My that was a very long time ago.

I only ever go to the same nurse for my injection. One of the others did it ONCE, and left me in pain for three days. :-P :-P :-P. She had injected into the wrong place.

Mel, when I was young snd living a home, we had pet white mice. One day I put them outside against the back wall with an air vent in the brick. Somehow they managed to squeeze through the vent and disappear under the house. Weeks later Mum found a small hole in the skirting. It was where th mice were trying to get out. Dad set a trap and caught a very dirty WHITE MOUSE. ;-) ;-) We never found the others !!!

Ros has taken a water sample to the Drs. this morning, she thinks she has another water infection. I have told her to get a supply of antibiotics, so if she feels that she has one on holiday she will have treatment.

My screen is jumping all over he place, so I will post this, and try again later xxx

Morning Mel morning all

Raining here after a lovely sunny day yesterday.

Have I missed an email off your Mel, did you send it to my old email address? I'd love to see it, can you send it to my new email please? :-)

It sounds like you had a great day out yesterday Mandy, lots of fun. Have you thought of taking your own drinks, if we go out OH and I make a flask of tea each and Sandra takes a bottle of her favourite juice, drinks can cost quite a lot and this way we can have more than one.

So you have your lovely view back Liz, it's good you can have the hedge cut for free and it saves your OH a lot of work too.

Sorry to hear Ros is in so much pain, maybe a second opinion is a good idea Frank, surely she can't go on like this? Did you sort out the passion flower question? Google is really good for answering a lot of things. I use it all the time. It'll be nice if you can have more plants from any seeds that are there.

OH was out all day yesterday so Sandra and I sorted out the shed, good job we did it yesterday with all the rain we have today. So that's another job out of the way. I also planted some bulbs in the two new planters in the front, so the front garden is now finished. When the weather brightens up a bit we need to make a planter for the back garden and I also need to plant the rest of the bulbs then the back garden will be done to.

It's hair colouring day for me today, I was going to do it yesterday but the shed took us all day, we didn't eat until 9pm then we were so tired we just went to bed. I had the best nights sleep I've had in ages so feel quite refreshed today.

Well, I'f better go as my hair takes ages to do from start to finished. See you all later.

I missed your post Frank, I hope the doctor can help Ros if it is another water infection, it really must be getting her down now as she seems to be having quite a few doesn't she? Let's hope she can get some antibiotics so your holiday is pleasant for her.

Meant to mention earlier Mel, I hope you can sort out your mouse problem, it must be a worry not knowing when they are gong to show themselves and they could chew into the electrics to. Have you thought of getting someone in to put traps down? Hope it's sorted soon.

Mel I've PM'd you. <3

Lovely morning here but beginning to cloud up now. Still warm though so I'm sitting outside enjoying the sun whilst it lasts!!
This afternoon we're going to pick blackberries. There are so many in our field and its a shame to waste them! We're also going to pick the cooking apples, check the cox's and generally have a busy afternoon!! OH's treatment has gone really well, one or two hiccups, but nothing to get upset about. The staff are absolutely brilliant, so much kindness and consideration, you couldn't ask for better. He finishes next week so this w/end we must sort out a thank you gift to show our appreciation.
Our tomatoes are ripening really quickly now!! We hardly had any, now we've got a glut!! I shall have to freeze them!!
I'm finding its getting difficult (again!) to get on here and keep getting the dreaded error page!! Hope its not going to be another problem!
Nothing else happening here, so hope everyone has a nice day.
