Afternoon all

Windy as anything here today, I've been in the garden sorting out the pots so hopefully they won't blow anywhere. I've had to weight them down a bit and put stones and bricks around the base of the pots. I've also planted the last of my bulbs and done some cuttings so I'm off for a bath as I'm a bit mucky now.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROS <3 <3 <3

Have you got anything nice planned for her special day Frank? I hope things have calmed down a bit for you both now. I know you love her dearly and want her to rest but maybe she's worried about how much you are taking on to.......love it can be a problem sometimes, but I know you wouldn't be without each other <3

So no hogs at yours Mel, it's still quite warm so you never know they may still be around. Do they stay in a sheltered spot when the weather is bad? Maybe that's why you haven't seen them for a while?

I see your car passed with flying colours Liz, ours failed the MOT the other day but has been sorted now, so everything's back to normal again.

Well, I'd better go, or my bath will be going cold.

Frank Report 19 Sep 2018 13:00

Good afternoon all.

Really busy morning. Ros laid in until 10.00, I got her some breakfast and tea. The next thing I know the door bell was ringing and Simon and Sally had come over to see Ros. for her Birthday, The phone hasn't stopped ringing, friends ringing her. Then Val Barker called with more flowers.

I had the delivery from Tesco. I didn't realise how much Veg I had ordered, so we won't go short. I ordered two lots of Jacket Potato's and two lots of new pots. ONLY ONE PARSNIP, two types of tomatoes. three for £10.00 breast of chicken. Go most of it wrong, but I don't wonder at it, everything seems to be getting on top of me, trying to get everything done, and trying to get MADAM to rest.

At the moment she is resting watching Loose Women. The next thing she wants to do is shower. I have emptied her case on the bed and she has put all her cloths away.

My next JOB is to clear the dining table ,and get it laid for tonight. With all due respect to Harvey, I could do without them coming this evening .

I see it's 1,00 pm so had better see about getting Ros some lunch. A WOMANS WORK IS NEVER DONE. lol lol

See you later
,

Gillx Report 19 Sep 2018 13:23

Slow down Frank, it's good Ros is resting but you need some rest too. I'm sure Harvey can lay the table for you and maybe do a few other things if needs be. Have you had any breakfast or lunch? Please take care of yourself or you'll be no good to Ros. I wish I lived closer so I could help you. Well done on ordering the food from Tesco's, it doesn't matter if a few things are wrong so long as you both have some food to eat. You're really good at cooking so will be able to rustle up a few meals with the things you've ordered. Try and have a bit of a rest this afternoon if you can <3

OH turned up with the two big bags of compost as I was about to get in the bath so I've just helped him put them in the shed. He wasn't allowed to get them himself, all the shutters to outside were closed and a member of staff had to go out and get it for him. They said it was to dangerous with the wind being so strong.

I think my bath might need a bit more hot water now as it's been run for quite some time. See you all later.

Afternoon all,

Happy birthday to Ros it sounds as if your having a busy day Frank with all the phone calls and family coming later
I wouldn't worry about the Tesco order i'm sure you'll soon get the hang of it and you eat lots of veg any way so it won't go to waste ,you could always make some vegetable soup to use it up .
Has the wool turned up for the other sloppy jumper ? that would give Ros some thing to do and keep her sitting still .

It's very windy here today too Gill but it should be worse your way ,probably best to leave the pots laying over as it might snap some of the plants off in this wind .

I hope the hogs soon turn up Mel it seems strange they haven't been about in the garden .

Hope Janice is in less pain now she has her tablets ,the same thing happened to my sister when she had her knee op ,they stopped her tablets and she had so much pain and with the withdrawals she said she honestly thought she was going to die she felt so bad .
Enjoy the film .

Afternoon Everyone and a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ros <3

Frank I hope you can have a bit of a break this afternoon to get your breath back before the others come this evening. I think all these visitors and phone calls to day are going to be extremely tiring for you both.

I have got Jame's lurgy :-S :-S. So he didn't keep his bugs to himself. I feel quite yucky so haven't gone to the film . Chris has gone though so I can cough and snort as much as I want :-D I am going to dust Hannahs room ready for tomorrow but will leave the big bathroom until the morning. I think it will be a book of TV for me after the dusting.
Probably be back later.

O dear Jane. Naughty James passing his germs around but I expect you taught him to share things when he was growing up so you can't moan too much!

Sorry you feel bad though and hope you feel better soon. x

It is so windy here everything is blowing around. Poor oh's lawns are covered in leaves. He said he was going to mow the front field this morning and then there was a little rain in the air so that did'nt get done.

My washing keeps wrapping itself around the line but it is drying nicely.
Now off to get those pesky spiders again now. :-| :-| :-|

Frank Report 19 Sep 2018 16:32

Afternoon all,

Poor you Jane, the last thing you need, and having to miss the film.

The wind has caused havoc all over the Country. That poor woman in Ireland who's caravan was blown over the cliff. I have given up going outside to pick up th pots, they can stay where they are for now.

Carol has called this afternoon, also Pam and Tracy from next door, with cards and presents for Ros. Tracy is still here chatting away.

She has showered and done her hair. She's all dressed and waiting for the family to come this evening. Conrad and Jan phoned this afternoon. I have shaved and showered and got clean slacks and shirt.

So all your apples are gathered in Liz, I stewed my apples a couple of weeks ago.

Where has the day gone, it's 4.30 already. table all laid, with glass's. for those who will drink soft drinks, I have my pint glass ready for my beer, which I am looking forward too.

See you tomorrow.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Sep 2018 18:20

I do feel a bit rubbish .Its coughing up horrible gubbins that makes my chest hurt which is the worst bit. I can't remember the last time I had a cold .
No washing out here today.I got most of it done yesterday and had to double peg everything to make sure it all stayed on the line.
I have made a start on the bathroom but have only done about half.Still haven't dusted Hannahs room .That will just take a few minutes tomorrow . Chris hoovered all through yesterday.Good man :-D

I think most of our Apples will be on the ground soon. We swept up loads . The Eaters are very small and most look as though they have been got at. I will hopefully manage to get plenty of cookers though to stew and freeze.

I hope the Birthday Girl is enjoying herself and that the meal will go down a treat.I can see both of you being totally pooped tonight Frank !.

Mandy I think Janice sounded a lot different last night when I spoke to her so being back o nthe Codeine must be helping. I bet though she will be in pain tonight though after a session with the Physio today!!

I am just doing Fish and Chips for us two tonight and Sausages and Sweet Potato Fries for James. He hates fish.

Thomas is behaving really odd . He has spent the last 2 nights out and has hardly been around. He seems to have been just sitting in the hedge and only came out when I took some Salmon out again and he came out when he got a whiff. I got him in and shut the door this afternoon and he eventually settled and had a good sleep. He ois out again now but I really want him in tonight.

Oh my goodness I have just seen on the news about that poor lady who died in her caravan when it got blown over the cliff :-( Its very gusty here but not too bad.Tomorrow night looks to be a bad one. At least Hannah will be here by then .
Gareth is coming by train on Saturday. James is here this weekend so a full house.

Its time for me to take another dose of Day Nurse now.

Frank it can be very tiring having people round and talking ,you'll both have to have a nice day of rest tomorrow ,i'm sure the family would have helped to set the table ,if they offer to clear up you let them you've had quite a bit of worry and stress the last few days .

Oh no Jane it sounds as if James bugs have been passed on ,hope it doesn't hang around to long .
Have you heard any thing from Fritz today ?

Still a bit blustery here ,looks like we could be in for more wind tomorrow too.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Sep 2018 19:45

Mandy, Chris picked Fitz up this morning to get his car. He said he was walking a bit better although very slowly and with just the one stick .So hopefully what ever he did is gradually getting easier pain wise.
Janice has Physio tomorrow not today as I thought. I seem to be a day out again :-S
She will be having Hydrotherapy too soon.
Dinner almost ready now. But I am not really that hungry.

Gillx Report 19 Sep 2018 20:08

Sorry to hear you're not well Jane, hope it doesn't last to long and you are feeling better soon. Shame you missed the film. Pleased to hear Janice is feeling a bit better now she's back on her meds, hope the physio isn't to painful for her tomorrow.

I saw the news about the poor woman in the caravan. It's suppose to be worse tomorrow so we won't be going out anywhere.

I put my washing in the dryer Mel as I knew it would do the same as yours and wrap itself around the washing line, that's if it didn't blow off completely;.

Hope you haven't overdone things today Frank and managed a bit of rest before the family turned up. I'm glad I weighted my pots down this morning, so far none of them have been blown over.

Morning all

Overcast here today, no rain so far and no wind either. My garden survived yesterdays wind so I'm thankful for that, hope everyone else's was the same.

How are you and Ros today Frank? Did she have a nice birthday with the family yesterday?

OH has gone out to his mates for the day and Sandra is still asleep so I thought I'd take a look at my family tree. I have quite a common name on my tree and haven't been able to get any further with them for years so thought I'd have another look today to see if I can break down some of the walls on there.

What is everyone else doing today?

Morn ing Gill and all,

Windy here with dull skies and its really dark and raining.

I shan't be venturing out much only to feed the birds, wild and chickens. I have another escapee, well there were three of them out the other day twice and now I just have the one getting out.

Have a hint from ancestry about a sister of my gt gran on my paternal side so I may have a look at that tree. I think I have been in touch with the lady before as her name rings a bell, the tree oowner that is not the other.

Hope Ros had a lovely time last night with the family get together and had a good nights sleep for the both of you. <3

Frank

Frank Report 20 Sep 2018 12:13

Good morning Gill, Mel and all,

We had a very enjoyable meal last night. I was left to clear the table while they sat and chatted and watched T.V.

All the food that was over went into a box, and straight into the bin. I managed to get all the glass's, plates and cutery washed and put away. You don't realise how much there is to do, but it was all done and dusted. they went home around 10.00 pm I was in bed by 10.30.

I just couldn't sleep last night, but persevered, and stayed in bed, Ros went into a really deep sleep and started putting the zzzz away, which didn't help with my sleeping.

This morning I managed to get the BIG case back into the loft, what a job !!!

I have browned the beef, chopped loads of root vegetables, added the usual soups and have got the stew on a very low gas. I will keep my eyes on it. Don't want it boiling over snd making a mess. I've enough to do without that. Beds all made.

Oh Jane, those coughs with all that gunge can't be very nice. Keep drinking plenty of hot drinks, and keep yourself warm. HUGS to you. xxx

Out of the blue, the lads who RINGO said would take down the BIG TREE, turned up at 4,30 pm They had the tree which must have been 70/80 feet tall, reduced to saw dust in the back of the covered truck, they also removed the other stump which I left as a feature. With all the rain last night and today, most of the sawdust has been washed into the earth.

Martine was here and asked for some logs, which the guys chopped up and loaded into her boot. they left a load more logs in the drive for her to collect later.

I am going to get myself a coffee and a sandwich . First food today. !!! Naughty boy I hear you say !!!.

Gillx Report 20 Sep 2018 15:46

So no one helped you clean up last night Frank after all the cooking you did? At least you all had a nice time. That was quick taking the big tree down, I bet it's made a massive difference to the garden and let in the light now. The weeds will love it LOL :-D :-D

It's pouring with rain here and has been for hours so I won't need to water the garden now.

How are you feeling today Jane, I hope you feel better than you did yesterday? How is your sister?

How did you get on with looking at the tree on Ancestry Mel? I've given up on my tree, the brick walls are still there, I just can't seem to make a breakthrough, which is a shame as I know once I find the first piece of the puzzle the rest will follow.
Have you worked out where your chicken is getting out yet?

I'm so bored today, the garden is finished and so is all the housework so there's nothing to do.

It's very quiet on here today, where is everyone? :-S :-S :-S

I shall plod along though.

Frank

Frank Report 20 Sep 2018 16:31

All quite on the WESTERN FRONT. Ros is sleeping like a baby on the sofa.

Th stew is ticking along, I keep popping out and giving it a stir and topping up with boiling water, the gravy looks a bit thick. I bet it will taste great though.

That wind is getting stronger, they say o expect 60 mph later tonight. It won't bother us, as we aren't going anywhere. Martine rang earlier, she is seriously considering whether they should go to the Caravan this weekend, as the wind is going to be stronger on the coast.

No good asking me to help with the family tree Mel. ;-) ;-) ;-) you know how useless I am.

Hope you have a good evening.

Afternoon All

Just a quick post. Hannah has just arrived and I am full of blooming cold. I coughed most of the night :-S Hopefully I wont be as bad tonight as I have to be in our bed as Hannah will be in hers.

Glad the meal went well last night Frank. You did a good job with the cooking and then all the clearing up to do .

I got mixed up with the days yesterday .It is today Janice has Physio .
The wind is getting stronger now after what has been a quite nice afternoon. Thomas flew off down the garden with the wind up his tail just now .(he looked so funny).
Chris has gone to Northampton now to see another film.
So Hannah and I are going to sit ,have a cuppa and no doubt talk wedding :-D

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Sep 2018 17:29

Pleased to see your day is more relaxing than yesterday Frank. I don't think I'd like to be in a caravan if the wind picks up again, especially along the coast. Has Martine decided weather to go or not?

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling very well Jane, at least you have Hannah to keep you company. What is the date Hannah is getting married, sorry I've forgotten the day, I know it's in December? I doubt Thomas will stay out to long if the weather is getting windy again. You did make me smile when you said the wind was up his tail, I had a funny visual in my head ;-)
